It is essential for government officials to identify and to consider the myriad local, national, and international policy issues associated with achieving the optimal balance between cultivating a robust, competitive and transparent regulatory environment that also supports and encourages innovation in this fast-paced digital world. First, Ecker tells us a little bit about himself, explaining that he's headquartered in the heart of Adams County, in South Central PA. Then, circling back to the meeting, Ecker explains his thoughts on the general situation, pointing toward the extended unemployment benefits as the main culprit. When asked about the Left's solution of raisinig the minimum wage rather than eliminating the benefit, Ecker notes that local businesses are offering up to 17 or 18 dollars an hour to incentivize employment, so raising the minimum wage to $15 would do nothing to solve the cause. Then, Giordano and Ecker discuss the new work search requirements set forth by the Wolf administration, which means people receiving unemployment benefits must apply for two jobs and complete one work-search activity from an approved list options each week, such as attending a job fair or taking a pre-employment test. A little bit of spice, a little bit of politics, and a little of everything iconic should really be the title of this episode, but instead we put it here because we were getting a little too close on the character count. But we digress because this episode features an interview with an absolute powerhouse – PA State Rep. Joanna E. McClinton who serves as House Democratic Leader. Rep. McClinton knows a thing or two about a lot of things and we covered a lot of ground, including her day-to-day as the House Democratic Leader. We literally talked about the politics of it all. We also talked about the Crown Act and the fight for ending hair discrimination (see petition and legislative templates below). From origin to temperature check to the future of the issue, we cover it. And, not to mention, we also talk about the PA Women's Health Caucus. Petition – Crown Act: Help Us End Hair Discrimination in the Workplace, Schools, and Pools: https://bit.ly/2KeSiRxLegislative Templates – Crown Act: https://bit.ly/3ETGMXYPA Rep.
