Dolly Parton is known not just for her indelible music career but also for her literacy advocacy. In 1995 she created the Imagination Library - a program that sends a free book to children every month from birth until their fifth birthday. However, up until recently Nevada County families weren't able to participate. In the wake of Dolly Parton's passing, Nevada City Rotary Club President Andrea Mason, First 5 Nevada County Executive Director Melody Easton and Nevada County Youth Services Librarian Tricia Caspers join KVMR News to discuss the behind-the-scenes work and partnerships that made this program accessible here locally.
