President Trump has announced the United States has surrounded Venezuela with a complete blockade of sanctioned oil tankers in an effort to cut off all the money flowing into that country. At the same time, he's announced he will address the nation Wednesday night from the White House in a speech that's expected to feature accomplishments and plans for 2026. Let's hope he stays on script. Marco Rubio makes a bold statement about what will keep him from running for president in 2028. The Royals seem to be infuriating everyone except the people that make the decision on whether they can build a ballpark at 119th and Nall. The City of Lenexa is trying to pull another crazy liberal scam on its good citizens after failing with a homeless shelter. Wait until you hear this joke. There's a ton of reporting on Travis Kelce's future and we'll explain why you shouldn't be listening to any of it just yet. Darryn Peterson sits for the 8th time in 12 games as KU gets an easy win. Kansas State is losing its only good wide receiver to the transfer portal and our Final Final is not great news for KC.
The Kansas City Royals still haven't committed to a location for their new stadium, but the Aspiria campus at 119th and Nall in Overland Park is under consideration. Residents living in that neighborhood say they have concerns about local businesses, traffic and affordability.
Ann talks with Dr. Kerry-Ann Zamore Byrd, Interim BSW Program Director Clinical Assistant Professor - Baylor University. Then we get a revisit from Rebecca Nall from the Maybourn Museum. We also get great music from Maxx Carter, and a new Act Locally Waco with Elizabeth Riley.

Who even knew T-Mobile still had 3500 employees at 119th and Nall in Overland Park at what used to be the Sprint Campus? Well, the Royals now controll it all and T-Mobile says the owners are not allowing T-Mobile to stay after their lease expires in 2029. We all know what that means. Trump's talking affordability as drivers line up around the country for really, really cheap gas. The J6 bomber, Brian Cole Jr, is a bit of a gender twisted man as he spent hours and hours online as a "Brony." You won't believe what this is. Consumers complain Instacart is gouging them, I have a solution for them. The Royals get a rare off season win in the draft lottery as the draw for position moved the team up 10 spots in the draft. What a gift! Philip Rivers is back as he signs on to the practice squad for the Colts. Oregon's QB is threatening to not play in the college playoff first round game. Big 12 commish Brett Yormark blasts the AD at Notre Dame. Troy Aikman cuts off UCLA and Bill Self names his MVP so far this season. Our Final Final is what Amelia Earhart's mom thought happened to her daughter in 1937.

From STEM trailblazer to AI visionary, Dr. Tamara Nall shares her extraordinary journey of perseverance, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership, showing women what it truly means to build with legacy in mind.Growing up in Alabama and Georgia, Dr. Nall's parents instilled a belief that education is the one thing no one can take away. When an Emory University counselor told her that STEM “wasn't for women like her,” she didn't retreat, she rose higher, applying that very night to a dual-degree program with Georgia Tech. She went on to become the first business student to graduate from that demanding program, blending business acumen with computer science — a foundation that would power her future as a global entrepreneur and change-maker.That same determination has guided every step of her journey. From Harvard Business School to earning a doctorate in engineering and leading The Leading Niche, her award-winning systems integration firm serving agencies like the CDC, NIH, and VA. When told she'd lost a government contract for not having a PhD, Dr. Nall didn't internalize rejection; she transformed it into action, completing her doctorate during the pandemic while running her company full-time. Her story is one of relentless learning, courage, and redefining what's possible for women in technology and business. In our conversation, Dr. Nall opens up about scaling sustainably, leading with empathy, and why women-owned businesses must focus not only on passion but profitability. She shares insights on strategic networking, purpose-driven culture, and her bold ventures in AI, from her platform Reli AI to Human AI Nation, where she's exploring the evolving relationship between humans and technology. Through it all, her message is clear: innovation begins when you dare to claim the space others say you don't belong in.This episode is a masterclass in resilience, reinvention, and responsible leadership. Tune in to hear Dr. Tamara Nall's remarkable story and be inspired to build your own legacy of impact and innovation.Chapters

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we're hearing an awful lot about the fraught relationship between science and media. In his book, News from Mars: Mass Media and the Forging of a New Astronomy, 1860-1910 (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2019), historian of science Joshua Nall shows us that a blurry boundary between science and journalism was a key feature—not a bug—of the emergence of modern astronomy. Focusing on objects and media, such as newspapers, encyclopedias, cigarette cards, and globes, Nall offers a history of how astronomers' cultivation of a mass public shaped their discipline as it managed controversies over the possibility of canals on Mars, and even interplanetary communication. This book is strongly recommended for historians of science and communication, as well as those with an eye for material culture. Joshua Nall is curator of modern sciences at the Whipple Museum of the History of Science in the Department of the History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. Mikey McGovern is a PhD candidate in Princeton University's Program in the History of Science. He is writing a dissertation on how people used statistics to make claims of discrimination in 1970s America, and how the relationship between rights and num- bers became a flashpoint in political struggles over bureaucracy, race, and law. A local owner affiliated with a possible ballpark for the Royals is the new owner of the land at 119th and Nall. I'm sure they'd love to have a stadium there but, if not, it's obviously a potentially great purchase for a company in the real estate business. Trump's DC takeover has Dems hopping mad. A whistleblower turned in Adam Schiff for giving orders to dems to leak fake info about Trump to get him indicted. This happened just weeks into Trump's first term and the intel staffer turned Schiff in to the FBI in February of 2017 and nothing ever came of it. Former Raiders coach Jon Gruden won a huge court ruling in Nevada Monday a in his lawsuit against the NFL and Roger Goodell. Salvy does it again as the Royal win 7-4. We will tell you exactly what they need to do in their final 43 games to have a chance at the playoffs. Bill Self is cleared by doctors to coach, the UFC strikes a deal with the new media company Skydance and a rocker defends Bruce Springsteen's outrageous comments on foreign soil.
After the Kansas Board of Regents ordered all DEI eliminated from state universities there was still a question if KU would try to resist the directive. But on Tuesday, KU Chancellor Doug Girod issued a memo to all employees emphatically directing them to dump pronouns and a whole bunch of other crazy stuff by July 31. What a great day for KU! Tariff deals are in place now with the Philippines and Japan. The deal with Japan is massive and unprecedented and the Philippines deal is gloriously lopsided in the favor of USA. Trump unloaded on Barack Hussein Obama Tuesday indicating he's guilty of treason and every other word you can think of and they have Obama "stone cold." Well, there's no backing off this now. ESPN has started its football coverage, normally very good, in terrible fashion. We have examples featuring the Chiefs and Cowboys. Adam Sandler is starring in Happy Gilmore 2 beginning Friday on Netflix and had some really great comments about Travis Kelce in the movie. Salvy's two home runs Monday night have a really great side story as he took two boys out of the stands after the game and gave them bats. They were boys he didn't know and this story is the stuff of legend. The two candidates running for Mayor of Overland Park both indicate the Royals at 119th and Nall is unwanted by their residents. One candidate goes as far as to say over 95% of people in the area hate it. And our Final Final is the SMU football coach blasting the SEC.

Text a Message to the ShowThis is the second part of our story of Detective Dana Gouge, who handcuffed the BTK serial killer, Dennis Rader. If you haven't heard part one which told the story of a narcissistic serial killer who couldn't stop talking… then what are you doing?! Go back and listen to Ep 110 right now! We left off with Detective Gouge putting the handcuffs on Dennis Rader before the task force took him to be interviewed. Dana is going to tell us a bit about those interviews but what I find interesting, and what I think is missing from your typical true crime podcast, is what effect it had on the detectives to encounter a truly evil man, to be the team working such a large case, and then to wrap it up. So I'm going to explore these topics with Dana and talk about how that affects him twenty years later. But first let me tell you what I did not reveal in part 1: the reason I know Dana Gouge. Dana isn't just a retired homicide detective, today he's also a chaplain. In fact at the time of this recording he's in the process of becoming a police chaplain at the same agency where I serve. I'm really excited about the prospect of serving alongside him and his background in both policing and now counseling, pastoral care, ministry, and theology make him an excellent person to discuss the topic what to do when you encounter true evil. Just start learning what a chow bell is, receiving money from mom, wondering if Nall is a hallucination, dreaming the dark, hearing a song on the breeze, regretting the tone of the official guide, envying the children, razzing Ramus into oblivion, sleeping in the shed, clearing up “rump acne,” standing up to destiny, denying our Christ up to three times, refusing to take children seriously, finding our ho-ho-ho-man, and waking up without our savior father.
