This one hour long Easter special dives into the sombre events of Good Friday and the joyous events of Easter Sunday through Bible readings by David Suchet, and Easter talks by Torch's Church Partnership Coordinator, and ordained vicar Vicki Bryson. We also hear from Phil Hanna, a member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and Ray Campbell who grew up in Jamaica about their Easter traditions, and what the crucifixion and resurrection mean to them.
For five incredible years, Sunday Edition has been ACB's open space—a welcoming and vibrant platform where your thoughts matter. It's the place where members come together, share ideas, and engage in conversations that shape the future of our community. This Sunday, we're keeping that tradition alive as we honor Ray Campbell and invite your thoughts on the next steps for ACB. Ray has announced that the 2025 ACB Conference and Convention in Dallas will mark the conclusion of his 19 years of service on the ACB Board. As Second Vice President, Ray has exemplified dedication and vision, and now he's passing the torch to the next generation of leaders. His decision sparks a crucial moment for reflection and conversation—conversations where your thoughts will help pave the way forward. Join us for an engaging roundtable where we'll explore these pivotal questions: • Passing the Torch: How can we ensure a seamless transition to new leadership? • Leadership Structure: Should we reimagine how ACB operates? • Presidential Responsibilities: Is it time to compensate the ACB President? • Board Roles: Should directors take on specific duties within the organization? • Vision for the Future: Is our current system effective, and what do we need from tomorrow's leaders? We'll also ask whether our mentoring programs are preparing strong leaders and discuss whether it's time for other long-serving leaders to consider stepping aside to make room for fresh perspectives. This is your space, and we want to hear your thoughts. Join us to celebrate Ray's legacy, reflect on the lessons of the past, and share your vision for ACB's future.

Tuesday Topics will continue a tradition we began last year. We explored last year just how ACB was going to vote during a totally digital convention. This year we are dealing with a different animal in that our convention in Omaha Nebraska will be a "hybrid convention". In other words, we have to meet the needs of those folks who are at home and do not choose to attend our ACB meetings in person and the requirements of those who have decided they want to be at our conference in person! How does this change how we will handle votes! How will we handle amendments to our governing documents if there are any? What if we don't finish everything by the time of our last in-person meeting. The Voting Task Force has at least some of the answers to these questions and will also discuss how a one week convention has suddenly grown and why! I am not sure just who will be a part of the task force group but I think we can expect to hear from Patrick Sheehan, Ray Campbell, John McCann and Koni Sims. We may have some others but I know we will have an exciting discussion that I hope many of you will join in. We plan to allow for lots of questions during our time together. Some may know him as Ray Campbell on Sister, Sister, and others as Venus Flytrap on WKRP in Cincinnati. And then there are those who fondly recall him as Frank Parrish on Frank's Place, or others as "Downtown Brown" on Simon and Simon. But none of these aliases hold a candle to the man, distinct, renowned and an original in his own right. He is called a pioneer because of his founding of New Millennium Studios in 1997 before Tyler Perry and after Oscar Micheaux's Lincoln Motion Picture Company in the 1940's. So many around the world call him inspiration or mentor. Two of us call him Dad. And there is one who calls him Poppy. He is also doted on as a husband, friend and leader amongst men. He has a whimsical mischief in his heart that attaches anatomically to your funny bone; a twinkle in his eye that catches you off guard and makes you see the stars; and the most unforgettable stories one can ever tell. Yes, a charismatic presence that can elevate all within his radius to cosmic beings; the most elemental definition of a superstar. Here's to Tim Reid, my dad - a culture manifesting auteur, a brilliant visionary, an outlier - an icon. “When I built the studio, first since Oscar Micheaux, betting millions of my own money... it didn't work the way I had anticipated. It does work - Tyler Perry has proven that and he's done a hell of a job with it. So I knew it worked. Yeah, it's possible!" - Tim Reid This week on Here's To Life:• The Importance and Strength of Family• The Power of Change and How It Can Be Your Lifeblood• Living in the Spirit, and How he keeps his spirit alive• Exploring the Most Valuable & Powerful Asset - Your Eternal Soul• Dream Manifestation & Making It In Hollywood• The most important lessons and values he has imparted on his children• How to Live Eternally through Generations • and, this episode is For Those Who Want to be a "Star"CREDITS:Guest: Tim Reid Host and Producer: Tori ReidExecutive Producer: Patrick A. Our senior citizens are often isolated during normal circumstances, and far more so during the current pandemic. So we decided to do what we should have always been doing far more often: Sit and listen to some great stories about and from our elders. Ruthie Millar gives more insight into the group of Clemson football players who visited Clemson Downs to play bingo several times in February, and the special relationship that developed. Pastor Ray Campbell, a 92-year-old Clemson resident, tells priceless stories from his close relationship with Frank Howard -- including the spiritual awakening that Howard experienced late in his life.

The Center for Health Information and Analysis produces reams of data for both Massachusetts policymakers and the public, providing a window into state health care expenditures and offering tools to compare prices between different providers. Ray Campbell, the executive director of CHIA, walked through some of the available online data tools during a recent conversation with Paul Hattis and John McDonough for their “Health or Consequences” Codcast. “No other state has an organization quite like CHIA,” said Campbell, who added that the agency, which is funded by assessments on the health care industry, looks into spending on hospitals, drugs, and doctors, and it gains some important insights from the all-payer-claims database. While CHIA has access to tools that are unavailable in other parts of the country, the agency can't see everything, so it works collaboratively with the health insurers to give consumers a more complete idea of what they might pay for a particular procedure.

Just about in time to catch the end of Black History Month, this episode's object from the British Stand-Up Comedy Archive is an interview from 1990 with the late, great pioneer of black British stand-up, Felix Dexter. We place this in context by talking to two very different comedians – Ray Campbell performed as Buddy Hell on the 1980s alternative cabaret circuit, and John Simmit set up the mighty Upfront Comedy Club, helping to build the black British comedy scene for well over two decades. Both talk about their own experiences as black British stand-ups, and working with Felix, giving their impressions of him both as a comedian and as a person. Plus we might just have squeezed in a question for John about being in Teletubbies. If you like this podcast, please tell your friends, share on social media, and leave us a 5* review on iTunes.
