What is a GPO? Even in the roofing industry, the concept of a GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) is new and not widely understood. Let's learn more about the Limitless GPO Group in today's show! Limitless Roofing Group was founded in 2022 by 25-year roofing industry veteran, Miller Weedn, and 20-year organizational leadership and training veteran, Dylan McCabe. Limitless GPO currently has 44 members (and counting) and operates in all 50 states with a passion for bringing roofing business owners together to maximize their profitability. Before our interview with Dylan, John DeLaurier unveils the result of his long-awaited rebranding of DeLaurier Roofing to Peach State Roofing, including the steps he's taken and what the future next steps are in the process. What you'll hear in this episode: Why a common challenge among roofing business owners is how to find and retain top sales talent Why, as a roofing business owner, you need to hire the right WHO Why groups like a Mastermind or a GPO are beneficial in helping contractors learn from each other and find accountability and partnership The common problems Dylan finds with a GPO: marketing (because almost no one knows what a GPO is or what it does) and landing deals How membership in a GPO works—and how you can join now for FREE! This episode goes into the nitty greedy details for properly vetting the companies that are offering you a roof replacement service. It can be harder when trying to separate the bad apples from the good ones. Unfortunately, there are some "bad actors" out there that are looking for a quick win when selling you a roof replacement. We also want to remember that there are good companies that are there ready to help in the best way possible. How can we tell who is who? What can we do during the construction process to make sure everything is getting done right? We talk about these things and more in this podcast. Look below for a couple of topics we go over: What are telltale signs of a good contractor and a bad contractor? If something goes terribly wrong during the installation, is it my fault or the contractor's fault? How can you do some research into the company you are considering and see if they are honest and genuine? Why not to consider the quoting process as a race to the bottom? What is the difference between the best price & the fairest price? Why you should take some time off to be semi-present during your installation. What questions to ask your contractor before signing the agreement. Are there ways to see if I made the right choice of contractor even after the installation? We answer all these questions and more!

So many business owners just aren't making the profits they should! The failure rate is shocking, but what's even worse are the people who are working their lives away and earning so much less than what they should. On today's episode, you'll learn which jobs are making money, which jobs are losing money, and what to do about it. What you'll hear in this episode: How we can make more money: either sell more jobs or sell them for more money Why good job costing is essential for your business Diane's elevator pitch: how she helps small and mid-size construction companies customize their internal accounting systems and run their companies more profitably Why most contractors think of numbers negatively How job costing allows you to see which jobs are winners, which are losers, and which are in the middle How job costing helps narrow your focus on profitable jobs How a “post mortem” helps you evaluate the estimate vs. the actual for each job How Diane got into work with construction companies and job costing The biggest problem when you don't do job costing: You are working “in the dark” You don't know where you stand financially You may sell at lower prices (and sink the ship!) How job costing is part of the system to give you historical information and help make projections about the future How to track details on phases of different jobs The pros and cons of Quickbooks online Why you don't have to be an accountant to use job costing Who can do your job costing for you The three phases of a good accounting system: good structure, training, and proofing/balancing Diane explains “the speed--accuracy--control continuum” Why any company doing project-oriented work should be doing job costing How job costing provides a feedback loop Resources Connect with Dave: Let me know if you'd like to join one of our new Mastermind groups for contractors.
