If you hired a sales person and found out they were doing what you're doing now to sell, how happy would you be?! For a lot of people, the true answer is NOT VERY. We'd want a sales person: Reaching out to new prospective buyers Pitching weekly or daily either face to face, at events or on webinars Using content to build a brand / reach new audiences and retarget them with offers Building a database and following up Networking at least twice a week… RIGHT? But most business owners aren't doing that. Nope - they're posting on social media, working on a sales page, networking when they can but not really following up. When you put it starkly like that, you can see the void…and the opportunity! In this week's video, we're going to have a chat about making sales in your business, looking specifically at: - What your product needs in order to be attractive (and useful!) to buyers - How to stand out by innovating in your marketing - Why content makes selling easier, and what content to make to help! - The one big feeling a buyer has before they buy from you - What every step of the journey needs in order to help you make more sales and win more clients in your business - The true difference between a warm and cold lead…and how to warm up a cold lead nicely - Do lead magnets work, or rather: Why lead magnets work and how to maximise them. As ever, this is not a prescriptive list of things to do. It's more of a discussion about the premise of selling and the core concepts of winning new customers in your business. Dive in and enjoy! Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to generate income from your email list - without creating your own products, handling customer service, or even making a single sale yourself. But there's a problem.Too many people do it wrong. They bombard their audience with spammy links, promote shady products, and burn trust faster than a bad marketer burns through ad spend. If you've ever thought, “I don't want to sound too salesy,” or “I don't want my audience to feel like I'm just pitching them,” then you're in the right place.Today, I'm revealing the exact playbook for making affiliate sales without annoying your list.Useful Episode ResourcesFREE list of the top 10 books to improve your email marketingIf you want to write better emails, come up with better content, and move your readers to click and buy, here's how. She encourages women to pursue their business goals and create their own paths to success. Quotes: “We underestimate what we can do in ten years. We overestimate what we can do in a day or a week or a month.” - Sigrun Gudjonsdottir “If you are on that pivoting point, 3, 4, 500,000, if you've made it that far, you can double it. You can triple your revenue. But you've got to believe that you can do it.” - Sigrun Gudjonsdottir “It's amazing - You can really, truly take your passion and turn it into a profitable business. And I think we just have to get over that hump. When is that flipping point of when you realise that you actually have some money mindset issues? And for me, it was in the last month of the first year when I earned $25,000 in one month. And then I was like, oh, that's a lot of money. Do I deserve this? Was this a fluke? Will it ever happen again? And of course, the following month I made $1,700 because I self-sabotaged. And I see women do this.” - Sigrun Gudjonsdottir “There's a magical thing that starts to happen, isn't there, where you realise I can get to where I was before, but seriously, if I try, where could I get to? And it's like the whole world just suddenly opens up.” - Jessica Fearnley “I like manifesting as a concept. I think it's good to get our mindset in the right place, but for most people, it's not enough to sit and visualise it. We need to be taking that aligned action consistently, and we need to always be pushing forward and being like, seriously, what's the next big thing that's really going to move the needle?” - Jessica Fearnley Useful Links Sigrun: Free Quiz - Is Your Online Business Ready to Scale? As agency owners, one of the things we fundamentally get wrong in sales is how heavily trust plays a role in the process. We're selling intangible services and solutions to people with a high price tag, and we expect prospects to trust that we'll deliver on our promises. It's a risky proposition, especially for the ones putting their trust (and wallets) in our hands. This week, I'm sharing how agency owners can earn and leverage their trust with client referrals to increase sales. When you sit back and watch the sales come in simply because someone knows, likes, and trusts you enough to recommend you to others, it's a beautiful thing. I'll share the four things we need in any sales process: the etiquette of social proof and earning client referrals, and how to ethically become part of a community without becoming a billboard for your agency. When you earn people's trust by being genuinely helpful, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to do business with, you won't have to lift a finger to make a sale. For 30+ years, Drew McLellan has been in the advertising industry. He started his career at Y&R, worked in boutique-sized agencies, and then started his own (which he still owns and runs) agency in 1995. Additionally, Drew owns and leads the Agency Management Institute, which advises hundreds of small to mid-sized agencies on how to grow their agency and its profitability through agency owner peer groups, consulting, coaching, workshops and more.
