Day 1,484.Today, as Russian casualty figures continue to climb, we ask whether Moscow's long-anticipated spring offensive has already begun. We also return to the situation in Moscow, where Vladimir Putin has been absent from public view for several days, as a formerly loyal supporter issues a dramatic call for the Russian president to step down. Then we examine the significance of comments by the CIA director on Moscow's involvement with Iran, before speaking to one of Britain's leading historians of strategy about where the war now stands – and the key mistakes made by both Russia and Ukraine.Contributors:Francis Dearnley (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @FrancisDearnley on X.Dominic Nicholls (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @DomNicholls on X.With thanks to historian Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman.NOW IN FULL VIDEO WITH MAPS & BATTLEFIELD FOOTAGE:Every episode is now available on our YouTube channel shortly after the release of the audio version. 2026-03-16 | UPDATES #146 | Spectacular explosions in Russia – Ukraine has gone after something bigger than another refinery fire and more consequential than just another spectacular ammo dump explosion on Russian soil. Overnight on March 11–12, 2026, Ukrainian drones struck infrastructure at the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in Krasnodar Krai — a hub that multiple outlets describe as one of the largest oil logistics nodes in southern Russia. Reuters, citing a source in Ukraine's SBU, says the strike hit the pumping station and triggered a large fire. Russian regional authorities also acknowledged the attack and said emergency crews were fighting a blaze. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------A REQUEST FOR HELP!I'm heading back to Kyiv next month, to film, do research and conduct interviews. Silicon Bites Ep303 | 2026-03-16 | Moscow is getting a taste — a tiny taste — of what Ukrainians have lived with for years. May it continue and grow ever more inconvenient for Muscovites. For a second straight day, Russian officials were reporting drones headed for the Russian capital. On Saturday, March 14, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Russian air defences had downed 65 drones bound for Moscow over roughly 11 hours. Reuters reported that Russia's Defence Ministry claimed 280 drones were intercepted across central and western Russia during a 10-hour period, including 47 targeting Moscow. That already made it the biggest drone attack on the Moscow region this year by Russian official count.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------SOURCES:Reuters, March 14, 2026 — Russian air defences down 65 drones headed for Moscow, mayor says. 2026-03-12 | UPDATES #143 | What does it say about the state of mind in the Putin regime, that it has started normalising communications blackouts in its own capital? This is where Russia is now – internet shutdowns in the centre of Moscow have become daily occurrences. Is it to do with war security, as the regime claims, or is it to do with fears of a coup, circulating as rumours? Over the past week, Moscow, St Petersburg, and other Russian cities have seen repeated mobile internet outages, with residents reporting they could not load apps, call taxis, access websites, complete payments, or sometimes even place normal calls. On March 10, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the shutdowns were real, saying they were being imposed for security reasons and were being carried out “in strict compliance with current legislation.” A day later, the Kremlin doubled down, saying the restrictions would last “as long as necessary” for public safety. That is the official story: security. But in Russia, “security” is a broad and opaque explanation. It comes with the hint and shadow of the feared security and intelligence services, the successors to the KGB. And increasingly, it is a method for switching off normal life.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------A REQUEST FOR HELP!I'm heading back to Kyiv this week, to film, do research and conduct interviews. Silicon Bites Ep301 | 2026-03-13 | Let's be precise. The whole front is not collapsing. But on one crucial stretch of the southern battlefield, Russian defences have very clearly been breached, rolled back, and thrown into disorder. Ukraine's 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya” says it has liberated Ternove in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, after a hard-fought assault on the Oleksandrivka axis — the borderland where Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk oblasts grind into one another.Local public broadcaster Suspilne Dnipro reported the liberation on 11 March, citing the regiment and an on-air interview with battalion commander Andrii Kiianenko. (Суспільне | Новини)What's confirmed? Ukrainian forces have been conducting a sustained counteroffensive on this axis since late January. Ukraine's military leadership says more than 400 square kilometres have been retaken on the broader front. Ukrainian and outside analysts say the initiative on this sector has shifted, at least locally, toward Kyiv. Ternove is now being reported as back under Ukrainian control. 2026-03-13 | UPDATES #144 | This is big. Earlier this week Ukraine just struck one of the nerve centres of Russia's missile-industrial machine. Why Ukraine hit Kremniy EL now, and why it matters. This is not just another oil depot or barracks. Not another ammo dump or drone cache. A microelectronics plant. It is the very definition of hitting the archer, not just the arrows. The target was Kremniy EL in Bryansk, a major Russian manufacturer of military-use microelectronics near the Ukrainian border. On March 10, Ukraine's military said it hit the facility with Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, and President Volodymyr Zelensky said the plant produced electronics and components for Russian missiles — the same missiles, as he put it, that hit Ukrainian cities, villages and civilians. (Reuters)Reuters reports that Ukraine described Kremniy EL as “a critically important link in the chain of production of Russian high precision weapons,” while the General Staff said “significant damage” to production facilities had been recorded, with the full extent still being assessed. This was not opportunistic, but industrial warfare, targeted and deliberate. In episode 257 of Talk Eastern Europe, Adam and Alexandrareact to the breakout of war in the Middle East and what it might mean from the regional aspect. They look specifically at relations with Russia, the war in Ukraine and also the South Caucasus, which borders the conflict zone. They also catch on the situation in Albania and discuss Hungary's latest tactics ahead of the elections in April. For the main interview Alexandra is joined by Toma Istomina, deputy chief editor of The Kyiv Independent, on the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tome reflects on how the newsroom transformed overnight from a small startup into a major international outlet covering the war, and how journalists balance urgent battlefield reporting with deeper coverage of Ukrainian culture, history, and everyday life. The conversation explores the challenges of reporting during prolonged conflict, the importance of global understanding of Ukraine, and the role international audiences can play in supporting independent journalism covering the war.Check out the Kyiv Independent online: https://kyivindependent.com/Watch the special YouTube series “Dare to Ukraine” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cjMmGeLq0I&list=PLmOj0Ur_xinRpYyt31pbGt48Z6YGwX6ZtSupport the podcast and become a patron here: www.patreon.com/talkeasterneurope

Silicon Bites Ep292 | 2026-02-23 | Russia is closed for business — the war economy that is devouring its own future. Russian opposition economist Vladimir Milov says Russia's economy now runs on one fuel: state war spending. Businesses can't invest, workers are disappearing, interest rates crush enterprise — and the Kremlin doesn't seem to care. The result? A country technically functioning, but economically shutting down, abandoning the core tenets of a market economy, and shedding all vestiges of economic rationality. Russia hasn't been sanctioned into isolation and oblivion. It's reorganising itself into a permanent wartime command economy – destroying all the economic progress of the 1990s. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------SOURCES:AP News — wartime tax pressure on small business (2026)Reuters Breakingviews — fiscal strain and depletion of reserves (Feb 2026)The Moscow Times — stagnation, falling profits, investment slowdown The Moscow Times — taxes rising and growth ~1% PISM / economic analysis — 21% interest rates, labour shortage Wilson Center — war economy discourages investmentRUSI — inflation driven by war spendingGuardian economic analysis — labour shortages and tax increases Kyiv Independent interview with Vladimir Milov — reserves depletion and investment collapse----------SILICON CURTAIN LIVE EVENTS - FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN Events in 2025 - Advocacy for a Ukrainian victory with Silicon Curtainhttps://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extrasOur events of the first half of the year in Lviv, Kyiv and Odesa were a huge success. 2026-02-16 | UPDATES #133 | Russian losses now outpacing recruitment (again) — and why Moscow is leaning harder on foreign fighters. The military math in Moscow does not add up – the tally between bodies in, bodies out. The difference between vodka fueled recruits and sunflower fodder. And for a war being fought at drone-speed and trench-distances, that's arithmetic Putin can't spin. Multiple streams of reporting and official claims over the last week — capped by fresh remarks out of Munich — point to the same brutal conclusion: Russia is bleeding manpower faster than it can refill the trenches, and it's increasingly padding the gap with foreign fighters — some recruited under false pretenses, some coerced, some simply disposable. Let's unpack what we know, what we can't independently verify, and why the Kremlin's recruitment logic is starting to look less like “strategic endurance” and more like a meat-processing plant with a military payroll department attached. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------A REQUEST FOR HELP!I'm heading back to Kyiv this week, to film, do research and conduct interviews. Day 1,456.Today, as President Volodymyr Zelensky describes the latest Ukraine-Russia peace talks in Geneva as “difficult”, we ask whether the negotiations between Kyiv, Moscow and Washington made any tangible difference – and whether the Kremlin still has room to delay meaningful concessions. We hear from a former special envoy to Ukraine, and report on an exclusive Telegraph investigation revealing how British-manufactured microelectronics have ended up inside Russian missiles used to kill civilians in Ukraine. And we speak to the founder of a new volunteer air defence unit recruiting members from Ukraine's expatriate community to help defend against ongoing Russian drone and missile attacks.ContributorsDominic Nicholls (Associate Editor of Defence). @DomNicholls on X.Francis Dearnley (Executive Editor for Audio). @FrancisDearnley on X.Rozina Sabur (National Security Editor). @RozinaSaburon X.With thanks to John Richardson and former US Ambassador Kurt Volker.SIGN UP TO THE ‘UKRAINE: THE LATEST' WEEKLY NEWSLETTER:http://telegraph.co.uk/ukrainenewsletter Each week, Dom Nicholls and Francis Dearnley answer your questions, provide recommended reading, and give exclusive analysis and behind-the-scenes insights – plus maps of the frontlines and diagrams of weapons to complement our daily reporting. 2026-02-18 | UPDATES #135 | Putin's mobilisation rumour machine. Is this why the ban is dropping on Telegram in Russia? If you want to understand where Putin's regime thinks the real danger lives, don't look at the front line first. Look at the phone in your pocket. Putin is more afraid of the power of phones and the messaging apps they contain, as a platform for the coordination of resistance to his regime, than he is of losing personnel and territory on the battlefield. Eric Ciaramella of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Francis Farrell, a reporter at the Kyiv Independent who covers military and security dynamics in Ukraine, join Lawfare's Ukraine Fellow Anastasiia Lapatina for a look back at the first year of the Trump presidency through the lens of the war Ukraine. The three delve into the expectations surrounding the Trump administration's approach to Ukraine, the evolving battlefield situation, and the dynamics of U.S. aid. They also analyze the role of Europe in supporting Ukraine, the potential future scenarios for both Ukraine and Russia as they navigate the complexities of the ongoing war, and whether the ongoing peace talks have any chance of succeeding. To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare. 2026-02-02 | UPDATES #124 | “‘Come to Moscow,' the Kremlin says — let's all make peace in Moscow. Another offer, or rather ultimatum has been made to Zelenskyy – come to the Kremlin and hammer out peace. But this is not an offer designed for Ukraine – it's 100% for the Americans, for the Vatniks and for the propagandists, to try to make Ukraine look like the party that is obstructing a settlement. “Come to the Kremlin”, says the spider to the fly, like it's a neutral venue, like it's a normal invitation, like Moscow isn't the command centre of a war of annihilation, like this isn't a trap. But this isn't diplomacy. It's a stage-prop — built to stall, to smear, and to set up Ukraine as the ‘obstacle' to peace. Let's break down the playbook — and the history that makes it toxic, especially from Soviet times.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------A REQUEST FOR HELP!I'm heading back to Kyiv this week, to film, do research and conduct interviews. Day 1,435.Today, as President Zelensky warns that Russia is preparing “a new massive strike”, we examine growing speculation that an undeclared truce may be in place regarding strikes on energy infrastructure. We then turn to the Russian press, where a local war memorial in the Urals appears to have inadvertently revealed the true scale of Russian casualties, and an unlikely scandal involving a baker that has caused fresh embarrassment for Vladimir Putin. And finally, we report on the launch of a new blood bank aimed at alleviating Ukraine's mounting medical crises.ContributorsFrancis Dearnley (Executive Editor for Audio). @FrancisDearnley on X.Dominic Nicholls (Associate Editor of Defence). @DomNicholls on X.James Kilner (Foreign Correspondent). @jkjourno on X.With thanks to Toby Illingworth (Founder & Head of Mission for Yashchenko Foundation). @tobyillingworthSIGN UP TO THE ‘UKRAINE: THE LATEST' WEEKLY NEWSLETTER:http://telegraph.co.uk/ukrainenewsletter Each week, Dom Nicholls and Francis Dearnley answer your questions, provide recommended reading, and give exclusive analysis and behind-the-scenes insights – plus maps of the frontlines and diagrams of weapons to complement our daily reporting. 2026-01-20 | UPDATES #109 | The Kremlin's Coming Economic Squeeze and potential mobilisation prompts whispers of discontent from Russian Oligarchs. In Putin's Russia, oligarchs don't speak their minds, and certainty cannot critique power, or the decision that are made by the Tsar. They make noises that approximate dissent, coded signals with critical subtext. But if you read between the lines, the message is always the same: this war is eating the system alive – consuming the country's economic potential and resources — but nobody is allowed to say that out loud. Today's signal flare comes from a familiar messenger: Oleg Deripaska.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------SOURCES: Reuters (Aug 9, 2024): Deripaska called war “mad,” urged ceasefire without preconditions Guardian (Feb 27, 2022): Deripaska Telegram post “Peace is very important…” Fortune (Mar 28, 2022): Deripaska Telegram post “hellish ideological mobilization,” war may last years TASS (Jan 2026): Deripaska “settlement cheaper than war” framing Meduza (Jan 9, 2025): elite disappointment war didn't end; economic tensions Kyiv Independent summary (Jan 10, 2025) NEST Centre analysis (Dec 2025): elite winners/losers, limited leverage ----------SILICON CURTAIN LIVE EVENTS - FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN Events in 2025 - Advocacy for a Ukrainian victory with Silicon Curtainhttps://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extrasOur events of the first half of the year in Lviv, Kyiv and Odesa were a huge success. 2026-01-16 | UPDATES #102 | Kadyrov's Mafia Dynasty Wobbles. Car crash, failing kidneys and a gunfight in Mariupol – this episode has it all – intriguing, violence and drama. This is a dangerous time for Putin – a failed succession process in Chechnya could cause massive problems for him, and regime instability. The Kadyrov clan is wobbling, their brand is faltering, and Moscow is watching in trepidation. Chechnya's ruler Ramzan Kadyrov is back at the centre of a storm of health rumours — kidney failure, dialysis, “hospitalized in Moscow,” succession panic — while his 18-year-old son Adam, the one being groomed like a crown prince, is reportedly in serious condition after a motorcade crash in Grozny. (RadioFreeEurope/RadioLiberty) All a coincidence? We must be wary to jump to that conclusion, as freak accidents that occur to the powerful and influential in both Moscow and Grozny rarely turn out to be coincidental. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------SOURCES: RFE/RL (North Caucasus Service), Jan 16, 2026 — Adam Kadyrov hospitalized after crash; sources on ICU/roads/“barrier”; NIYSO “obstacle” claim. CELÝ DÍL JE DOSTUPNÝ NA HEROHERO.CO/STUDION „Možná Putin dokáže urvat kus Ukrajiny, ale v příštích sto letech pocítí tuhle válku každý Rus – do jednoho,“ říká ve Studiu N analytik a novinář ukrajinského serveru Kyiv Independent Adam Sybera. Ruský diktátor podle něj o žádný mír nestojí. „Putin čeká, až se Ukrajina zlomí, padne evropská podpora a on si ji vezme celou,“ tvrdí v rozhovoru. Day 1,405. Mírová dohoda mezi Ukrajinou a Ruskem je nadosah. To alespoň tvrdí americký prezident Donald Trump po jednání se svým ukrajinským protějškem Volodymyrem Zelenským a telefonátu do Kremlu. Rusko ovšem mezitím dál útočí na civilní cíle. Blíží se skutečně konec války? A jaké se nabízejí budoucí scénáře pro Donbas? Moderuje Světlana Witowská.
My newsletter: https://simonowens.substack.com/ The Kyiv Independent launched in 2021, and its timing was in some ways fortuitous, since it was only a few months later that Russia launched a full-scale invasion in Ukraine. Suddenly, the entire world was paying attention to the country, and the Kyiv Independent happened to be the most authoritative English-language outlet to be reporting on the ground. This attention not only resulted in a massive amount of traffic, but also a surge in membership donations as sympathetic Westerners sought out ways to support Ukraine's cause. In a recent interview, Chief Operating Officer Zakhar Protsiuk discussed the early days of getting the Kyiv Independent off the ground, its shift from one-time donations to recurring memberships, and why the outlet has begun producing longform documentaries.
2025-12-11 | DAILY UPDATES #075 | Russia's war economy is running out of road. It helps explains why such pressure is coming from the Kremlin, via Donald Trump, to find a deal that can be sold as a humiliation of Ukraine that temporarily gets Putin off the hook. Are they intent on a stable and sustainable peace? Has the Kremlin disavowed its ambitions of hegemony over Europe and initiating more wars? Absolutely not. But they need a breather to regroup, rearm and replenish their war chest, stabilise their teetering economy and war industries, as well as reinflate the army. And Trump is dutifully obliging to try and enforce this ‘so-called' peace deal on Ukraine and Europe. Today's theme is simple and brutal: examining the impending crisis within the Russian economy, which one regime friendly economist has said will be ‘huge and inevitable.”So, these dire warning are not coming from “Western propagandists”, or the usual pro-Ukraine “Russophobes”, but is a true reflection of the looming crisis according to pro-Kremlin economists, Z-patriots, state bankers and regime-adjacent think tanks who are now openly talking about a big, inevitable crisis in 2026.----------SOURCES: Майкл Наки – YouTube & Telegram: “«КРИЗИС БУДЕТ БОЛЬШОЙ И НЕИЗБЕЖНЫЙ». 2025-12-06 | DAILY UPDATES #072 | We continue our analysis of the National Security Strategy of the Trump regime, a document that claims to defend the West, by turning its guns on Europe. It's a malign document, that fleshes out Vance's speech at the 2025 Munich Security Forum. In that speech, Vance argued that Europe's principal danger came from erosion of democratic norms — especially censorship, suppression of dissent, and exclusion, widely interpreted as an attack on the structure of the European Union and its institutions. This NSS goes further and effectively declares that Europe's systems of governance are antithetical to America's interests. It's a mandate for malign interference, leans in to overtly support the far right and extremist groups, libertarian absolutists, oligarchical interests and is a mandate for regime change. ----------SOURCES: National Security Strategy of the United States of America, White House, December 2025 (PDF).https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/NSS-2025.pdfMichelle L. Silicon Bites Ep272 | News Update - Day 1,377 - 2025-12-01 | Two things went boom, but not in Crimea. Not Sevastopol. We're 30–40 nautical miles off Turkey's coast, in supposedly “safe” waters, watching two aging oil tankers from Russia's sanctions-busting shadow fleet burn in the dark. Beautiful, in a sinister kind of way. Ukraine does not deny it. Sea Baby naval drones. Precision hits. A deliberate punch to the Kremlin's oil lifeline. But a moral dilemma for Western states that are nominally pro-Ukraine but get squeamish when it treats this like the existential conflict that it is and takes actions it must. Ukraine embraces tough, challenging, dirty, and morally messy problems, and owns the decision and their impacts. The hypocritical and squeamish west labels this escalation. It's not, but our view on this reality exudes weakness and hypocrisy, as well as a shirking of duty. ----------SOURCES: Kyiv Independent – “‘Successful' Ukrainian naval drone strike disables 2 Russian shadow fleet tankers, source says” (Nov. 29, 2025)Kyiv Post – “SBU Drones Hit Sanctioned Oil Tankers Off Black Sea Coast” (Nov. 29, 2025)Reuters – “Ukrainian naval drones strike two Russian oil tankers in Black Sea” (Nov. 30, 2025)Associated Press – “Ukraine's Sea Baby drones hit Russian oil tankers in Black Sea off Turkish coast” & “Turkey condemns Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil tankers off Black Sea coast” (Nov. 29–30, 2025) RBC-Ukraine / UNN – coverage of Turkish Foreign Ministry and Transport Ministry reactions to the Kairos and Virat strikes Lloyd's List – Oleh Dunda & Ian Ralby, “Shadow ports: how cutting off Russia's access to maritime trade could help sanctions have real impact” (Nov. 27, 2025) gCaptain – “Two Sanctioned Tankers Catch Fire in Black Sea After Suspected Mine Strikes” (Nov. 28, 2025)Kyiv Post – analysis on Ukraine's campaign against Russian energy infrastructure and Zelensky's comments on striking energy facilitiesNaval News / H. Day 1,373.Today, in a world exclusive, we report how Donald Trump is preparing to hand over Ukraine's occupied territories, as his team prepares to fly to Moscow to present the plan to Vladimir Putin. Meanwhile, the Russian President claims his country's army “cannot be held back”, as Russia experiences one of the heaviest drone raids of the war. Then, we turn to Kyiv, where the offices of the head of President Zelensky's office – Andriy Yermak – were dramatically raided by anti-corruption officers. And later, at a time when leaders talk about gifting land to the Kremlin, we bring you unheard, rare testimony of what it's like to live under Russian control in those regions, and what many more millions may soon be condemned to endure.ContributorsFrancis Dearnley (Executive Editor for Audio). @FrancisDearnley on X.With thanks to "Anna".SIGN UP TO THE ‘UKRAINE: THE LATEST' WEEKLY NEWSLETTER:http://telegraph.co.uk/ukrainenewsletter Each week, Dom Nicholls and Francis Dearnley answer your questions, provide recommended reading, and give exclusive analysis and behind-the-scenes insights – plus maps of the frontlines and diagrams of weapons to complement our daily reporting. We don't often get to cover joyful policy news on this podcast, so this week we're delighted to be discussing that rare thing: a European country that's investing serious money in culture. For three years, Ireland has been experimenting with paying artists, musicians and other creative workers a basic income. And guess what? The scheme has worked so well that they're keeping it going. But is the policy all it's cracked up to be? This week we speak to John Baker, a co-founder of the Equality Studies Centre at University College Dublin and one of the coordinators of Basic Income Ireland, about the logic and limits of Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts. In sillier policy news, we're looking at why Slovakia has been regulating the speed of kids cycling on the pavement. And we're diving into Ukraine's massive corruption scandal: what exactly happened, and just how bad is it for Volodymyr Zelenskyy? You can read interviews with the artists who've been receiving Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts here. We also examine today's Joint Expeditionary Force meeting in Norway – asking whether it's wise for the group to brand itself as “NATO's first responders” – before doing a deep dive into recent cases of Ukrainian and Russian spycraft. Later, we speak with the commander of a Ukrainian drone unit who helped destroy Russian forces following the so-called “breakthrough” in Dobropillya.ContributorsDominic Nicholls (Associate Editor of Defence). @DomNicholls on X.Francis Dearnley (Executive Editor for Audio). @FrancisDearnley on X.With thanks to Dimko Zhluktenko.SIGN UP TO THE ‘UKRAINE: THE LATEST' WEEKLY NEWSLETTER:http://telegraph.co.uk/ukrainenewsletter Each week, Dom Nicholls and Francis Dearnley answer your questions, provide recommended reading, and give exclusive analysis and behind-the-scenes insights – plus maps of the frontlines and diagrams of weapons to complement our daily reporting.
