As we continue in our study of the book of James, Pastor Dalton walks us through why we aren't the main character in our life. When we claim Jesus as Lord and Savior, there are some things that aren't up for debate- we have a responsibility to act. But what does that look like exactly. Join for this and more!**********

Drawing from his front-row experience during Ukraine's Orange Revolution and 15 years of research, Greg shares the power of “small groups, loosely connected, united by a shared purpose” to drive cultural and behavioral change. Semi-private training is one of the most talked about revenue plays in the fitness industry, but there's rarely a clear roadmap for adding it to an already packed group training schedule. In this episode of “Run a Profitable Gym,” John Franklin sits down with Jamie Warren, CEO of Iron Tribe Fitness, who took his gyms from nearly 100% group training revenue to a 50/50 split with small group—without blowing up his schedule or losing his culture in the process.Jamie explains how he made the change: identifying which coaches and clients to beta test with, protecting the schedule with a “do no harm” approach, and using client demand to decide which class slots to convert. He also shares real stats, including how average revenue per member nearly doubled and why net margins ended up roughly twice as high even with a similarly-sized member base.Tune in to learn how to build a semi-private, small group training program that adds real value for clients and for your business.➖➖➖How much revenue does your gym generate per session? In this “Zion Lab Live” episode, Kurt Francom facilitates a live community discussion analyzing recent topics in Zion Lab. The conversation focuses on improving the Sunday meeting experience, addressing the unique cultural and social needs of men in the church, and managing the mental capacity of local leaders. Watch the video and share your thoughts in the Zion Lab community Transcript available with the video in the Zion Lab community Highlights Key Insights US Constitution Fifth Sunday Lessons: Community feedback regarding the church-mandated Fifth Sunday lessons was generally positive, highlighting a respectful, non-political tone and a spiritual framing of the topic. However, participants noted areas for logistical improvement, such as better structured small-group discussions for youth. The Masculine Experience in Church: There is a perceived gap in curated institutional resources and dedicated advisory councils on the church level specifically tailored to adult men, unlike other church demographics. Fostering Connection for Men: Men naturally connect “shoulder-to-shoulder” through shared physical activities, service, and adventure rather than traditional face-to-face chat formats. Utilizing creative layouts, interactive exercises, or specific musical numbers can drastically improve engagement. Impact of Local Leadership: While institutional resources are helpful, local leadership ultimately has the greatest impact on an individual’s everyday church experience and ward culture. Mental Capacity and Burnout: Serving in high-demand callings creates a significant emotional and mental load. Leaders often mistakenly take on individual responsibilities that belong to others, which risks burning out active members and themselves. Leadership Applications Adapt the Second Hour: Elders Quorum presidencies can pivot away from dry lectures by arranging room seating dynamically (e.g., pulling out tables, utilizing outdoor spaces, or splitting into smaller circles) to prompt natural connection. Establish Call Limits: Bishops and Relief Society presidents can manage emotional fatigue by implementing clear structural boundaries—such as processing welfare and check requests only on Sundays—instead of allowing everyday crises to overlap into family time. Empower Through Accountability: Rather than acting as a “black hole of need” by driving around to manage every logistical demand for struggling members, leaders should focus on helping individuals build personal testimonies so they find motivation to step up independently. 00:04:10 – Leaked Meetinghouse Blueprints and the Chapel Lectern 00:05:42 – Reviewing Fifth Sunday Lessons on the US Constitution 00:07:54 – Examining Men’s Institutional Resources and the Advisory Council Gap 00:12:35 – Cultural Dynamics and How Men Build Peer Connections 00:24:14 – Practical Tips for Building Better Elders Quorum Lessons 00:28:54 – Reimaging Second-Hour Formats, Small Groups, and Music 00:39:43 – Managing the Mental Load and Burnout in Local Ward Leadership 00:43:32 – Handling Inner-City Ward Welfare Dynamics and Establishing Boundaries The award-winning Leading Saints Podcast is one of the top independent Latter-day Saints podcasts as part of nonprofit Leading Saints’ mission to help Latter-day Saints be better prepared to lead. When we hurt someone, our immediate instinct is self-defense—saying things like "I was just joking" to shift the blame. In this week's message, guest speaker Pastor Patrick Holden dives into James 3:1–12 and Ephesians 4:29 to show why these weak explanations miss the mark. Our words hold massive power for destruction, and true relational repair doesn't come from self-help or trying harder. Instead, it requires a posture of desperation for the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out, moving us away from defensive excuses and into genuine, humble reconciliation.**********

Donahue shares personal background about his wife Gail, their 38-year marriage, their two adult children, and formative experiences that shaped his views of what is “healthy” and “good.” The conversation highlights key helps for small group leaders: preparation that aims to be personal rather than perfect, shared ownership and participation, and learning to give and receive feedback. Donahue discusses measuring group health beyond attendance and numbers by evaluating relationships, culture, conflict navigation, experiencing Christ's presence, and the group's impact outside the circle, including online group considerations, and closes by emphasizing love as the central leadership focus.00:00 Welcome and Giveaway Tease01:09 Meet Bill Donahue02:32 Family and Gail's Ministry05:59 How They Met and Ministry Beginnings08:10 Early Small Group Failures to Growth10:39 Growing Up and Performance Pressure14:48 Kids, Parenting, and Real Life18:33 New Book Focus and Leader Challenges21:07 Book Tools Overview21:32 Conflict Chapter Deep Dive22:28 Online Groups Pros Cons23:40 Coaching New Leaders23:54 Preparation And Ownership26:31 Measuring Real Progress28:23 Feedback Triggers Explained31:18 Healthy Metrics Inside Outside34:19 Book Giveaway And Thanks35:55 Closing Focus On Love39:12 Final Wrap And Signoff ★ Support this podcast ★

The Freedom We Find Together | Father's Day + Small Group Sunday Texts: Exodus 6:6–7; Ephesians 1:17–18Every family has patterns. Some are funny. Some are familiar. And some are painful—patterns of fear, anger, silence, shame, isolation, or pretending everything is fine when it really is not. In this Father's Day message, Pastor Kevin shows that the gospel is not just about being forgiven one day. It is about being brought out, set free, redeemed, and formed into a new people.Drawing from Exodus 6 and Ephesians 1, this message reminds us that salvation can happen in a moment, but freedom is often walked out over time. You can know Jesus and still carry old patterns. You can be saved and still feel stuck. But Jesus did not come just to forgive us so we could limp through life until heaven. He came to set us free. This Small Group Sunday message is a practical call to bring things into the light, stop trying to get free alone, and step into the kind of community where healing and freedom can grow. Because at Broad River, we believe people know God in weekend worship—but they find freedom together. It's easy in a digital culture to confuse passive agreement with real transformation. We hit "follow," nod along to good theology, and mistake a mental checklist for living faith. But what if your belief is perfectly accurate, yet completely dead?In this episode of The Tempering, special guest Pastor Matt Geppert digs into James 2:14–26 to challenge the trap of passive consumption. Unpacking James' stunning claim that even demons have an orthodox belief in God, this study reveals why true faith is never just intellectual assent. If you're ready to break out of the loop and step into active obedience, this is your practical guide.**********

Send us a text if you want to be on the Podcast & explain why!Want to become a successful personal trainer? SUF CPT, SUF STM, SUF NC will help trainers build the streams of revenue, confidence and teams to become successful making over $100,000/ year.Random circuits look creative, but they usually produce one thing fast: tired clients who are not getting stronger. We break down a clean, repeatable way to design small group training programs using movement patterns and a simple circuit template (CCA) that you can run in almost any environment, from a fully equipped gym like Lifetime or Equinox to a smaller studio with limited stations. If you coach personal training and want better flow, better progressions, and fewer “what do I do next?” moments, this is your playbook. We talk through how to build full body strength sessions even when clients think they only want glutes, abs, or arms. The secret is pairing core lifts with accessories that do not steal force production from the main pattern. You will hear practical examples for groups of three where everyone shares the same squat, pull, and plank patterns, plus ways to swap variations when you do not have enough racks or pull-up bars. We also cover rotating stations, where the coaching focus goes, and how to keep accessories engaging without turning the workout into a circus. Then we get honest about a common mistake in small group fitness classes: mixing heavy lifting with early cardio. When conditioning comes first, strength output drops, loads drop, and results slow down. We explain how to place jumps and power work for fast twitch recruitment, when to save cardio for a game or a finisher, and how to make five-person circuits work without compromising performance. Finally, we zoom out to programming systems like progressive overload, simple testing on day one and day 30, and monthly templates that help clients chase PRs and stay bought in.If you found this helpful, subscribe, share it with a trainer friend, and leave a review with your biggest small group training challenge so we can tackle it next.Want to become a SUCCESSFUL personal trainer? You're not broken. You're living by scripts that were written long before you understood what they mean.Every one of us enters adulthood carrying beliefs formed in moments of rejection, fear, disappointment, criticism, neglect, or pain. What began as survival mechanisms in childhood often become invisible scripts that shape our relationships, decisions, identity, and view of God.Through the life of Moses, Pastor Armando Palazzo reveals how God meets us in the middle of our wounds, challenges the lies we've believed, and invites us into a new future defined by His truth.Main Scripture: Exodus 3Topic: Bible Teaching, Bible Study, Christian Leadership, Kingdom Builders, Living on a Mission, Use Your Gifts, Serve God, Pray Give Serve, Faith ForwardSupport the show ------------------------------------------WANT MORE?Say You Love Me 1: Building Healthy RelationshipsToxic 1: What are Toxic Thoughts? In "The God Who Is Still Restoring," Jon Kendrick, formerly on staff as our Pastor of Business Administration and Small Groups, shares the message that God is still restoring us no matter how broken we might be. The Scripture is Ezra 3.
We were never meant to follow Jesus alone. In this episode, Pastor Gary explores how small groups help us grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and support one another through life's challenges. Discover why biblical community is one of God's primary tools for spiritual growth and how you can find your place in His family.
We live in a tier-list culture conditioned to favor clout, success, and status while overlooking everyone else. But what if playing favorites directly contradicts the heart of God? In this episode of The Tempering (Season 2 of our Year of the Forge: Mind of the Maker), Pastor Dalton digs into James 2:1–13 to confront the destructive trap of partiality. Using our Inductive Bible Study blueprint—Observation, Interpretation, and Application—he unpacks James' vivid illustration of the rich and poor man to expose the hidden biases in our own hearts. In Part 5 of our ADVANCE series, we explore a powerful truth about spiritual warfare that many believers have never considered. Most Christians think spiritual warfare is primarily defensive. But what if Jesus showed us that the greatest victories happen when we move toward brokenness instead of away from it?Through the Parable of the Good Samaritan, we discover how advancing God's Kingdom pushes back darkness, restores lives, and transforms communities.Main Scripture: Luke 10Topic: Bible Teaching, Bible Study, Christian Leadership, Kingdom Builders, Living on a Mission, Use Your Gifts, Serve God, Pray Give Serve, Faith ForwardSupport the show ------------------------------------------WANT MORE?Say You Love Me 1: Building Healthy RelationshipsToxic 1: What are Toxic Thoughts? The Word of God doesn't exist to affirm us—it exists to transform us. In a digital culture that thrives on scrolling and passive consumption, it's dangerously easy to treat Scripture the same way: looking at the truth, seeing what needs to change, and immediately forgetting it.In this talk. Lux Digital Church welcomes special guest Pastor Stevie Flockhart from 901 Church. Diving into James 1:19–27, Pastor Stevie challenges the trap of passive faith. Using James' famous mirror metaphor and a highly relatable story about an expensive airport baggage disaster, he breaks down what it practically looks like to move from being a mere "hearer" of the Word to an active "doer" .**********

In Part 4 of our new series ADVANCE, Pastor Mark Bonilla challenges the modern church to stop living in defensive mode and start advancing the Kingdom of God, by protecting the family.Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church. Many people have some turning point in their lives. For followers of Jesus, one of those moments is simply: ‘And then I met Jesus.' In this series, we'll hear testimonies from people in our church about how their encounter with Jesus has changed their lives. Together, we'll look at how Jesus calls ordinary people to participate in His mission. It's not about pressure or perfect answers but compassion, presence, prayer, and simple invitations. Whether you've followed Jesus for years or are still exploring faith yourself, this series is an invitation to consider how God might work through your story too. Relationship. Spiritual Conversations. Invitation. Repeat. - Rejoicing work: to share in CELEBRATING with him over those who are found Prayer: "Lord, may my heart rejoice over what you rejoice over." Discussion/Reflection Questions 1. Think about the name you wrote on the card. What is one step you can take this week to regularly pray for them? 2. What's a step you could take to invest in that relationship? 3. Is there a step you could take to engage them with spiritual conversation? 4. Is there an invitation you could extend to come to church? 5. Which of the three “works” (heart, search, or rejoicing) feels most challenging for you right now? What is one practical way to grow in that area?
From corporate polluters to political bosses, power elites try to create a myth of inevitability, trying to make workaday people feel helpless, too small to change the injustices of the system. Don't bother is their message. But the feisty residents of Boxtown, Tennessee, definitely did bother when they learned that a couple of profiteering fossil fuel giants were targeting them. Boxtown, a historic Black neighborhood of Memphis settled by former slaves 160 years ago, was considered by Valero Energy and Plains All-American Pipeline to be politically powerless, so when these multibillion-dollar petro powers decided to ram a dirty and dangerous pipeline through the Memphis area, Boxtown was their chosen route. The rich Texas oil barons even sneeringly called the lower-income community, “The point of least resistance.”Boy did they get that wrong! Those “small” people of Boxtown resisted fiercely and smartly. Most flat-out refused to sell their family land at the thieving price offered by the oil slicks. They forged a unified grassroots coalition (Memphis Community Against the Pipeline), reached out to other neighborhoods, and educated locals about the terrible safety records of the two corporate plunderers. They also enlisted environmental groups to help beat back the strong-arm attempt by Valero and Plains All-American to seize the people's property through eminent-domain. It's a long story, with many ups and downs, but the inspiring essence of it is that local “nobodies” defeated the big money and raw racist arrogance of a powerhouse duo of absentee corporate elites that disrespected – and misjudged – them.It gets little national media attention, but regular grassroots communities and coalitions are mounting – and winning – such gutsy fights against corporate exploiters all across America. We're not helpless or too small – remember this: Even the smallest dog can lift its leg on the tallest building! In this episode, I explore how a simple 360 feedback protocol can increase accountability and reflection during collaborative learning experiences. Inspired by feedback systems used in corporate settings, this strategy gives students structured opportunities to assess their own contributions and provide thoughtful peer feedback after small group discussions, reciprocal teaching, project-based learning, and other cooperative tasks. I share how asset-based rubrics and peer reflection can help teachers gather meaningful formative data without adding more grading to their workload. I also discuss why collaboration, communication, empathy, and self-regulation are increasingly important human skills in an AI-driven world. If you want to make group work more equitable, reflective, and student-centered, this episode offers practical strategies you can implement right away. Paul the apostle tells two stories in parallel: the children with no future and the children of the promise. Contrasting tales of children of a servant with no future security and children of a covenant promise whose future is secure unfold in the history of Israel. Paul maps these on to the lives of the Galatians to remind them of their inheritance in Christ, something they have quickly forgotten. And something we are quick to forget as well. Discussion Questions for Small Groups: 1. Where do you see yourself returning to futile and temporary things because it is easier than remembering the promise in Christ? 2. What does Paul's appeal to history reveal about God's character? 3. How does this passage show that we are saved by grace alone?

In Part 3 of our Advance series, Pastor Armando Palazzo explores a powerful and often overlooked dimension of spiritual warfare—not merely fighting against the enemy, but overcoming the limiting beliefs, fears, and false identities that keep us from stepping into God's purpose.Through the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, we discover how Philip, Andrew, a young boy, and a simple lunch reveal one of the greatest spiritual battles Christians face: believing that what God has given us is not enough.Main Scripture: John 6Topic: Bible Teaching, Bible Study, Christian Leadership, Kingdom Builders, Living on a Mission, Use Your Gifts, Serve God, Pray Give Serve, Faith ForwardSupport the show ------------------------------------------WANT MORE?Say You Love Me 1: Building Healthy RelationshipsToxic 1: What are Toxic Thoughts? Small group instruction is a common part of math classrooms—but when it comes time to actually sit down with a group of students, many teachers are left wondering what they should be doing. Should you reteach the lesson? Provide more practice? Or try something completely different? The answer isn't about creating a whole new lesson. Instead, effective tier 2 instruction is about helping students access the same rigorous math as their peers—but with the right supports in place. By using formative assessment to understand where students are along the concrete, representational, and abstract continuum, teachers can provide targeted scaffolds that move students forward. The key is not lowering expectations, but removing barriers so every student can engage with the learning. In this episode, you'll explore:What tier 2 math instruction should (and shouldn't) look likeWhy small group time isn't about reteaching the same lessonHow to use the CRA (concrete, representational, abstract) model effectivelyWhat it means to provide “access” to grade-level mathHow to decide when students are ready to move onThe role of high-quality instructional materials and manipulativesIf you've ever wondered what to actually do during small group time in math, this episode will give you a clear and practical way to support students without lowering expectations. We built a simple Math Coherence Compass to help district and school leaders make aligned decisions around math—without adding another initiative. In this episode of the Church Planter Podcast, Peyton Jones and Pete Mitchell talk about Discipology, small groups, AI, and what it takes to activate disciple-makers in the church.Peyton unpacks why mobilization has to come before multiplication, and why churches cannot rely on content, programs, or technology alone to make disciples. From small-group growth to leadership development, he explains how disciple-making starts when everyday believers are equipped, sent, and supported as they help others follow Jesus. The conversation also touches on the role of AI in ministry, the limits of technology, and why human connection, spiritual formation, and the work of the Spirit still matter deeply in church life.If you want to move people from learning to action and build a culture where disciples actually make disciples, this episode will help you take the next step.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode: NewBreed Training DiscipologyThanks for listening to the Church Planter Podcast.
