In this episode of The Mind Gut Conversation, I sit down with Patrick Flynn, DC as he shares his bold belief that the human body was not designed for illness and, when properly cared for, has the innate ability to heal itself-a perspective that challenges conventional medical norms. Dr. Flynn is a trained chiropractor, nationally renowned leader in wellness and the visionary founder of The Wellness Way, a revolutionary network of 80 health restoration clinics across the United States. Beyond his clinical successes, he is the author of two influential books: I Disagree: How These Two Words Are the Secret to Thinking Differently, Taking Control of Your Health (2019) and the follow-up I Still Disagree (2024). Dr. Flynn is also a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and the American Educational Research Association, with experience serving on editorial boards and federal grant review panels. Throughout this episode, we explore a range of fascinating topics, including: 1) How the philosophy and practice of The Wellness Way differ from both conventional and functional medicine. 2) How Dr. Flynn's approach goes beyond the typical chiropractic focus on spinal realignment to embrace holistic health restoration. 3) The essential elements of his medical philosophy, including the role of medications, supplements, and traditional treatments. What I found most compelling about our conversation is how, despite holding some differing political viewpoints, we were able to engage in a thought-provoking discussion. Together, we highlight the importance of shifting from a reactive "disease model" to one that empowers patients to proactively improve their health and prevent illness. We hope you enjoy this episode!
Welcome back to The Wisdom of Wellness Podcast! In this episode, Dr. Kayla Lucas sits down with Dr. Patrick Flynn, a renowned chiropractor, the founder of The Wellness Way, and an outspoken advocate for holistic health. Raised in rural Wisconsin, Dr. Flynn overcame early health and behavioral challenges through self-education in immunology and nutrition. His experiences shaped his dedication to empowering others to take ownership of their wellness through lifestyle changes rather than relying solely on conventional healthcare. They delve into the limitations of the current healthcare system, the role of self-responsibility in chronic disease prevention, and the unique health needs of men and women. Dr. Flynn also offers his perspective on modern societal norms, the need for holistic wellness solutions, and the value of personal freedom in health choices.Notable Messages:Self-responsibility is key to true wellness.Addressing chronic health issues requires lifestyle changes over quick fixes.Understanding gender-specific health needs is essential for balance.Holistic approaches can often support health more sustainably than mainstream solutions.Personal freedom and informed health choices are fundamental rights.Stay Connected with Dr. Patrick Flynn:WebsiteInstagramXFacebookYouTubeTikTokSend us a textDon't forget to subscribe and leave a 5-star review.Send your questions & comments to: info.thewowpodcast@gmail.com You can also share it on your social media and tag me @the.wowpod & @iam.drkaylalucasJoin us inside The Faithful Well Broadcast Thank you so much for being a part of the WOW pod community; until next time! Philly x In this episode of The Wellness Way, Philly sits down with Rob K., an extraordinary healer with deep knowledge of medicinal plants and natural medicine. Rob shares powerful insights into the therapeutic benefits of cannabis, its impact on chronic symptoms, and why it's most beneficial when ingested or applied topically rather than smoked. Rob's journey began at age 15, when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her battle through mastectomies, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, he sought alternative approaches that offered true healing rather than harmful side effects. This quest led him to explore cannabis as a potent, natural remedy for cancer and beyond—a “vilified medicine” that could transform health and wellbeing. Rob believes that if more people understood the benefits of cannabis medicine, 80% of today's common symptoms could be alleviated. Through his platform, DoALittle Healthcare, Rob offers holistic healthcare coaching and a range of natural therapies designed to boost health and vitality. DoALittle Healthcare provides: • Holistic health care coaching • Detox and cleansing protocols • Acupressure and Swedish massage • Neuroscience-based mindfulness, meditation, relaxation training, and NLP • Herbal remedies and “The Marvelous Molecules” • Healthcare talks and workshops at venues of your choice Tune in as he and Philly discuss the empowering potential of natural medicine to improve lives, one person at a time. Changing the Game in Breast Cancer Risk Join us in this week's episode with Dr. Nyjon Eccles, a natural doctor and author of the book "Changing the Game in Breast Cancer Risk." In this episode he shares valuable insights on breast cancer risk assessment and prevention, challenging conventional methods like mammography and advocating for the use of thermography as an early detection tool. We also discussed the results of my tests at The Natural Doctor clinic after I went there for a thermogram. I did learn that I had a red heat patch on the side of my right breast. This indicates a lump of cells, which could be cancer cells, which have grouped together. This was the ultimate wake-up call for me and reminded me that I need to prioritise MY health just as much as I prioritise making sure this crucial information is out there for other people. Highlights from the episode: - The limitations of mammography, including radiation concerns, false positives and the potential risks associated with compression during the procedure. - The significance of thermography in identifying early signs of breast trouble and the potential for the normalisation of abnormal thermograms to reduce the risk of breast cancer. - The traumatic treatment process. He shared compelling data showing a 40% increased risk of breast cancer in women with consistently abnormal thermograms over five years. - The role of cholesterol in the body, debunking myths about good and bad cholesterol and the impact of dietary fats on overall health. - The environmental impact of farmed salmon and the importance of making informed choices when it comes to seafood consumption and the risks associated with contamination and harmful farming practices. Dr. Eccles' expertise and dedication to changing the game in breast cancer risk offer valuable insights for women seeking to take control of their health and well-being, so make sure to check out this episode!
