Why does it matter how we talk about climate action? How does better language inspire better action?...Miriam Kashia is a self-proclaimed “climate action warrior.” Based in Iowa, she is involved with 100 Grannies for a Livable Future. In 2014, at the age of 71, she participated in the Great March for Climate Action, where she walked 3,100 miles over 8 months across the United States. She was named a “Climate Hero” by the Guardian's Down to Earth Environmental Newsletter in 2022. You can hear more about her story in “The Race to Save the World” Documentary. In this conversation, originally published in September 2022, Miriam shares her story, detailing different chapters of her life and reflecting on the journey that has led her to where (and who) she is now. Using the Daisy Model, Abbie and Miriam discuss the petals (lessons, people, and experiences) that transformed Miriam from a concerned citizen to a "climate action warrior" and how Miriam is using her platform to educate and empower others. Miriam shares with us a quote that was shared with her, "We will not give into the fear because it is fear that feeds the darkness" and how she is striving to take on daunting issues with love, truth, and justice. Finally, Abbie and Miriam explore the roles, relationships, and rest that help Miriam stay whole and balanced; Miriam's advice for activists and how her perspective has changed; and what it looks like to lean into the chaos that comes when we start to change our social worlds. Pretty good stuff! Since this one starts out with the conspiracies of the church documentary I'll add that so this is a twofer! Great news everyone the library of Alexandria didn't actually burn down, wasn't burned down by the church! They seized all that knowledge and it's most likely in the Vatican library right now! There's so much that the Vatican is blocking from our knowledge it's crazy. Since the pope @pontifex eems to be a good one for a change, several times in the past I have tagged him in social media asking him if we can have access to this Vatican library! You're welcome, universe : ☺️ the Vatican has a lot of ancient Egyptian stolen, "spoils of war" as it's called, I was unaware they have so much Egyptian stuff there too! It is even said that the emerald tablet of #THOTH is there. Per favore- LET US SEE IT!!!! Otherwise, I think we should dismantle the church. It was created between Mussolini and Pope at the time was it innocent? Funny name for the Pope who's f*evil usually - note the Vatican was very fond of Adolf Hitler; I bet this Pope must be the white Pope. Looks like the corrupt cops win again! Fortunately or unfortunately for the American public Democrats need to get it together and call for a mass expulsion of all these Republican insurrectionists in Congress! If only Nancy pelosi hadn't allowed them to be sworn in just 6 days after the January 6th insurrection, they wouldn't be terrorizing us by legislating against us! Same thing with the Supreme Court justices, why didn't Democrats get it together and call for all six Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v Wade to resign, or be removed for perjuring themselves under oath that Roe v Wade was settled law? I often think about how Democrats usually fail to do the right thing, because the political contributions will be so great if they don't do their job! It's very discouraging, frustrating because women have lost our reproductive choice under a Democrat. An old white dude who don't really fight that hard for us IMHO PS In response to immigration, as you may recall it was the Republicans who, bowing to pressure from the orange menace to society, turned down what was the most brutal immigration bill imaginable, legislation that only a national socialist from 1930s Germany would love. It's a blessing in disguise, I think, that it was not passed. Since it is election year, Republicans were not allowed to vote for any bill, out of fear it would make the Democrats look effective. Republicans do not care about any policy issues whatsoever all they care is about sabotaging this country and making sure that no legislation is passed, blocking everything they're purely saboteurs. That's what we get when over 160 Republican insurrectionists were never held accountable for their role in the January 6th insurrection. By the way according to senior border patrol agent Jen budd, there's no invasion at the border. It's called a backlog from when diaper Donna so cruelly shut down the border and put kids in cages you guys remember that??? What a disgrace!! What a cruel country USA has become My case is an important civil rights case, comprised of an illegal raid carried out by FIFTY Pima sheriffs on August 30th of last year. It is unlawful because they arrested me on a search warrant in literally 3 minutes flat, cuffed me and took me to Pima County Jail; then they not only falsified the time of my arrest by many hours, they fabricated evidence to convict me and make me rot in jail. Are you guys okay with this stuff? Because I certainly am not! How many innocent people are in prison right now because of these corrupt cops? Tucson get me on the ballot for Sheriff, sign my petition today! Get me on the ballot and I guarantee there will be no more unlawful, unconstitutional activities like this one, or jail deaths or police brutality reports under my watch! It's your choice! You want to have the most corrupt Police Department in America? With four times more jail deaths

Our hosts discuss an unlikely topic: the Netflix documentary, "The Greatest Night in Pop," which highlights the 1985 recording of "We Are the World."  The documentary goes behind the scenes of the recording process, as dozens of the era's hottest musicians and legends gathered in L.A. (for one night only) to record the single for African famine relief.  We discuss the ups and downs and speculate what modern-day singers would be involved in such a project if it happened today.  (Mentioned in this episode: Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Bob Dylan, Huey Lewis, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, Twenty-One Pilots, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran).

He was born Edward Alexander Crowley on the night of October 12 1875 during the height of the Victorian era in the town of Leamington in England. Aleister Crowley wrote in his diary: “I had arrived at the conclusion that the Plymouth Brethren were an exceptionally detestable crew. I wanted sin. A supreme spiritual sin. But hadn’t the slightest idea how to go about it. […] The Stockholm experience had allowed me to discover what I wanted to spend my time on. I would be an Adept in the Secret Arts, a Magus and through my own true will I could guarantee immortality and control the secret forces of nature.” There were three things Crowley to master at this point in his life; poetry, mountain climbing, and the search for spiritual truth. The Book of the Law. It would become Crowley’s most infamous works. It was a new order, or religion, that Crowley would be the master of – or the new prophet. It contained the line, “Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Show notes and links: * Sin & Sinners (littlebookofjohn.com) * Aleister Crowley Documentary MUST SEE!! NO MUSIC!
