Fondé sur Google Earth, ce service présente l'occupation des sols du monde entier sur des cartes qui ne datent que de quelques jours et avec une résolution de 10 mètres, soit pour paraphraser, presque en temps réel. Je cite Google sur le sujet, « Dynamic World est l'un des plus grands sets de données sur l'occupation des sols à l'échelle mondiale produits à ce jour ». Alors pour essayer cette application, rendez-vous simplement sur dynamicworld.app. Une fois sur le site, il suffit de sélectionner une région du monde puis de zoomer, exactement comme on le ferait sur Google Earth. L'application ajoute ensuite automatiquement neuf types d'occupation des sols : eau, arbres, herbe, végétation submergée, agriculture, broussaille, bâtiments, terrain nu, et le duo neige/glace. De plus, si vous indiquez une date de début et de fin, il est alors possible de comparer l'évolution de l'occupation des sols par un simple glissement de la souris. Lillie Marshall is from my hometown of Boston where she taught high school English while spending her summers volunteering in Latin America. In 2012, she took a 9-month career break to finally get out and take that trip to see the world. She went to 8 countries on 3 continents to make travel a bigger priority in her life. She returned from the experience a changed person and now folds travel into her life wherever possible. She takes students on group trips and participates in teacher tours, while making it to places like China (twice), Greece, India and Belize. Most recently she had her first baby and I'm excited to compare notes with her as she adjusts to traveling with an infant, certainly a new style but by no means an end of anyone's travel days.
