Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case may be. Donna here for YOU personally! This episode title is, Details vs Over thinking. How many of us overthink things and forget the details, because we spend some much time sabotaging or poking holes in the details. That's a lot of hands up in the air on this one. Well there is an old Proverb that, says, "To genuinely trust God, we must recognize Him as trustworthy and then surrender control of our plans to Him.Stop, saying the devil is in the details! Holy Spirit 101. Yes, he has a tale- it's called a LIE.Be patient while the Lord works out details. His best is on the way.

Let us bring this metaphor up to the 21st Century, your job is Ishmael, and your gift is Isaac. For the past two years we have had to choose our jobs, like an Ishmael as a substitute over the Proverbs 18:16 gift, talents, and abilities, which is our Isaac.Hopefully, on this Daily Faith Walk, we can come up with a strategy for obtaining and maintaining both. In the good book, there was this wife name Sarai, who did not have a child (gift), so she took it upon herself to ask Abram the husband to make this happen with one of their handmaids. After, a couple of rocky years had passed and so did the promise and purpose for Abraham. Quotes: “Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” Eckhart Tolle“If you feel you are in a black hole, do not give up. There is a way out.” - Stephen Hawking “Where your fear is, there is your task” -Carl Jung Your job has a promise of promotion, but your gift has a PURPOSE, and the feeling of fulfillment will not be manifested until you have at least attempted to make room for your gift. Here is an EXCREPT from my book titled: “From Greyhound to A Cap-N-Gown,” CHAPTER 4, “Mans Will vs. God's Will”.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 Twelve days into the fast, and I am riding high off my blessings and favor, but I must be careful not to insert my will over God's will. Well, that thought lasted for a minute, because I did not ask God if it were his will for me to get a seasonal job with Jackson Hewitt, or buy that mini truck, which would be neglecting my commitment to keeping a 3.0 GPA or higher, to achieve the calling on my life and maximizing the experience and education to assist others in accomplishing the same.God's will for us is to be deployed, not just employed, out in the world to prove how your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men and opportunities, while making room for ours at the same time. Also, God's will show us how to survive, be successful and most importantly significant. Its man's will to ask God to enlarge his territory, but God's will and desire is to enlarge the space between are ears first to manage the massive territory.Thursday, January 21, 2010 Down to twenty-four dollars in my checking account, something said check with students accounts to see if that refund hit yet. Yes! I had a cash refund check coming to me on Monday for $500 dollars. Praise the Lord for he is to be praised. Thinking wow, this is the last day of the fast and God showed up and showed out. Mixing man's will with God's to make me feel better about the dumb decisions I was about to make, such as purchasing a vehicle that has not be checked out by a mechanic, counting a paycheck from Jackson Hewitt for a job I haven't even started, and use what was left, I would buy books with it.The truck/car ended up putting me down, the first time I drove it to school, every time I stopped at a red light or on a hill it stopped on me.Spirit Help NotesProverbs 19:21, “There are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless it is the Lord's counsel that will stand.Proverbs 16:1, “The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.”Listen on Apple iTunes, Spotify,
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!I do not own the rights to this music, but I do agree with the title by the late Nipsey Hussle, "Perfect Timing", which is another Oxymoron up for discuss on my Daily Faith Walk Podcast Episode #40 entitled, " Submerged for Greatness."Submerged for greatness and perfect timing are working for you to achieve your goals and dreams. But how, glad you asked.A man name Gideon was hidden from his enemies, doing odd jobs around town, when God said he was to deliver the people of Israel from the Midianites. But Gideon was insecure and didn't feel qualified to do anything great. Question: Have you downgraded yourself because of past failures?Remember you failed not because your plan didn't work, but by sticking to it.I believe we all have been there a time or two, especially since covid-19 came on the scene eliminating essential jobs, such as daycare, human services, not to mention the pleasures in life from having a pretty decent job, like traveling to foreign counties, being at sport events. Now, it feels like you are submerged in darkness and there is no way out. You only get to come up for air for breathing nothing else.Being submerge seems like a death sentence, but it is actually a place for God to separate you from what was limiting you and showing that your resourcefulness is better than your resource that may have been limited. For example, a professional swimmer is put through intense training of being submerged under water for a long period of time to people like you and me. But the coach knows what the competition is like in the Olympic games. The same applies to your goals and dreams, just because your resources are slack, causing those goals and dreams to be delayed, remember a delay is not a denial. God is calling you to float back up to the top, with higher expectations and bigger dreams because you discovered your resourcefulness while submerged for greatness.I am going to leave you with a few quotes to ponder on while, taking a spiritual or physical daily faith walk."Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined!" by Henry David Thoreau"You drown not by falling into a river, but by staying submerged in it."Yet it is in our idleness, in our dreams that the submerged truth sometimes comes to the top."ps. Morning afternoon, evening whatever the case may be Donna here for you Personally! With the Daily Faith Walk Episode 39 " IF YOU W.A.I.T. YOU CAN GO". I realize this word wait contains two conflicting ideas. One would call it the "One-Word Oxymoron", but it is also an acronym for Walk Align In Time with the Holy Spirit, which we will discuss in this episode quite a bit. Now it does sound like a play on words, but in fact it is an "act of obedience "based on Kingdom Living Principles. QUESTION: Why should you W.A.I.T. so you can GO? (Walk Algin in Time with the Holy Spirit) In today's society, waiting is a bad word. We see waiting as procrastination, indecisive, a distraction or laziness. But sometimes we must W.A.I.T. on achieving our dreams and goals. Walking Align in Time with the Holy Spirit requires you to have the right view, intention, right actions, and right motive. For example, you are at a 4-way stop sign, after coming to a complete stop. The next move toward your goal, which is the stop sign on the right, but the stop signs on the left has your dreams and straight ahead is the world stop sign, loaded with obstacles, challenges, past failures, and doubts. In some cases, you have the right of way, but the next time it may be the world's time to go first. That is when the W.A.I.T. comes into play. The good book tells me that the Holy Spirit has come to lead and guide us into all truth. (John 16:13). Here's a couple of quotes on waiting, I know you are just waiting to hear!!! (ha-ha) I crack myself up. I. "To wait is not to sit with folded hands, but to learn to do what we are told." -- Oswald Chambers.II. "Waiting is the hardest work of hope." --Lewis B. SmedesLike the old saying, “Anything of value is worth waiting on.” Your goals and dream are no different, beside God would not invest His time in teaching you wisdom, knowledge, and understand of waiting without REWARD. Until our next daily Faith Walk, keep walking align in time. Bye for now!
Morning afternoon, evening whatever the case may be Donna here for you personally.I do not own the writes to this music, but I do wear a heavy crown of PURPOSE, which brings me to the Daily Faith Walk Episode 38: Purpose Produces Perseverance The song on this intro by the late great, Nipsey Hussle, “Down as a Great” speaks volumes about purpose producing perseverance. QUESTION: What are you producing? Is it for purpose or profit? I do realize that it is hard to kick in gear the perseverance that produces purpose, after suffering from so many things such as, an addiction, chronic illness, abusive relationship, and now covid-19 PTSD the list of legitimate excuses goes on and on, while zapping all the energy, of aim and effort right out of your body, emotions, and thoughts. But you were created to win! How do I know this to be true? Because there are many examples of perseverance in the good book, and here on earth. Stop watching alpha rhythms in the screen of your brain and go back to consciousness (a state of awareness) where you can see the original you. You display purpose that produces perseverance every day in one way or the other. For example, at a business meeting your purpose is to be productive with the presentation to close the deal. Another example is at the grocery store you have a list of items, that you purposely wrote down so not to go over your budget. Have you seen the price of gas and food lately, those things alone produce perseverance! These two scenarios can be used for purpose and profit, one helps feed your family, the other secures your future in the company. But what about your goals and dreams, do not forget God said He will give you the desires of your heart, especially when you do His will first. So, what, if the world things what you are pursuing is taking too long, or out of range for a person such as yourself, (your too old, young no female has every accomplish it) the naysayers voices and comments grow louder, and louder until they start to make sense to you. At that moment find something or someone with a history of perseverance. Quotes:This is what Nelson Mandela said about perseverance. “It always seems impossible until it is done.” Here's one from Helen Keller, “A bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to make the turn.”And the last quote, to put you back in the race, is one from Walter Elliot, “Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” There's chapter in my book “From Greyhound to A Cap-n-Gown”, titled Perseverance, it talks about my challenges with self-doubt, past failures, and all the other reasons why I will not be accepted or enrolled at Oral Roberts University. (fromgreyhoundtoacapngown.com)But when God has a purpose on your life, it produces perseverance no matter what you and anyone else say, think or do His Will gets done!Oh yeah, one last quote for you, “It's always too soon to quit!” – Norman Vincent Peale SPIRIT HELP NOTE: Ezekiel 40:4 “And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you for you were brought here so that I might show them to you, declare to the house of Israel everything you see.”Romans 4:3, “And not only that but we also glory in tribulations, know that tribulation produces perseverance.” PS: If you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Stitches or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk) Thank you for your support.
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!I do not own the rights to this music, but it has been a long time since I took this Daily Faith Walk with you, yes, yes, a little Eric B. & Rakim with I Know You Got Soul.Well, the powers that be knows you have gifts, talents, and abilities. Episode 37: Whether You Stay or Go G.R.O.W! You got SOILThe Holy Spirit woke me up this morning, and whispered, “It is not where you are planted but where you G.R.O.W. The acronym used was, grow where God's Right Opportunities Work! Then He proceeded to bring the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 to the 21st Century.QUESTION: Have you asked yourself, why haven't I met any goals or dreams yet in this place or thing?Let us say Warren Buffett picked three people out of a thousand, and you were one. Then he gave five (5) talents to one person, two to another and one to you. Notice here the Boss man gave the same tools and resources just in different measures, and later we see he gave the same rewards. So, off the workers go the person with five (5) talents said, I heard Atlanta was a good place to invest my five talents, but I have no connections. Alright, I must use my gifts, talents, and abilities right where I am. And with taking a calculated risk it paid off giving the person with five (5) talents ten (10). Now the one with two talents, thought the same way, I have no connections here, so I will relocate to Atlanta and take a calculated risk and network with some folks before making the move, and that person gain two more talents.Last but not least, the third person did not take a calculated risk, instead stayed in a “comfort zone” or should I say “self-doubt” stage. Assuming that the boss was a shady businessperson, made excuses for his fears, and doubts, such as It is the environment, covid-19 got me depressed, I am a person of color, on and on. QUOTE: There is a few quotes that addresses the issue:William Shakespeare said, “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we often might WIN, by fearing to attempt.” Sounds like failure to launch or leap. 2. Sylvia Plath says, “The worst enemy to creativity is “self-doubt”. We keep that enemy too close sometimes. 3- Last, but certainly not least one of my late and great mentors Dr. Myles Munroe say in one of his messages, titled The Key to Living Your Future, that, “The greatest threat to your future is your past. "The takeaway here is to make “calculated risks,” never allow fear to keep you from trying, and know that your boss made the risk assessment, by choosing the three people and the return on his investment. Note to self: DO NOT live a revision of the VISION God gave you! Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally! This episode is not your regular Daily Faith Walk in the park, but a self evaluation from the Holy Spirit, which he got on me therefore, I am passing the rebuke to my listeners. (ain't that about nothing).Question: Have you every had the seasons to change and you were not ready?Well, just like on the job when the company deicides to implement a new policy, you do not have time to take vote on it. Read the new procedures and act accordingly. This is the same, when God the Holy Spirit leads and guides you to and through a new season in life. It must be implemented right away or it will not be effective. We spend so much time celebrating over our victories that we forget, the race is not over, it's not a sprint but a marathon. Even, Nelson Mandela knew his job was not done, when he was locked up and set free, and I quote, "For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."We implement our dreams and goals for the next generation, we keep moving in and out of seasons. Here's an excerpt from my book, chapter nine (9) SEASON OF CHANGETuesday, May 6, 2014Three days after completing one of God's many purposes, for my life, a revelation came to me that yes, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Walking across that stage gave me the title for my book (this journal), which is “From Greyhound to A Cap-N-Gown”. Feelings of happiness and doubt all rolled up in my emotions, as I opened a card from the auntie) that gave me the $25.00 dollars in the first place. The card had a message from God regarding my purpose driven life. The first words are bold just as God is and the main words from Him for me to receive was “graduate” followed by a scripture, which was Jeremiah 29:11, or of his plans, but plans that will prosper me, plans to give others hope by starting His non-profit organization called, “Adam-21 Re-Empowerment Agency” that helps men regain their confidence in retaining a fatherhood position with their blended families. Friday, May 16, 2014Two weeks after graduating I received a letter in the mail that would change my life. It said that I was eight (8) credits short of receiving my official diploma. How stupid was I to think that failing two courses, not to mention one was in my major, and Oral Robert University was going to just send me a degree with two big fat “F's”? After walking down that stage and receiving a temporary copy like I had hopes that somehow magically the official one was coming in the mail. Nope, college life does not work like that, you must earn those degrees. Those classes I failed or withdrew from had to be taken again and passed for me to get my degree. The Human Behavior in Social Environment I that I ran out of time to take before graduation and two biology classes plus two labs, were the eight (8) credits needed to receive a diploma. This was a blow to my ego; I hadn't told anyone about the three failing grade and that it was a possibility of not graduating on time. Meanwhile, I never was one to continue to lie, so I came clean and showed Edgar the letter about my situation, the look on his face was a happy one, because I had to stay a little bit longer in Tulsa, Oklahoma giving him time to convince me to stay. The only reassuring grace was Gods word.SPIRIT HELP NOTES: Ephesians 1:11, "Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan." God's purpose will be IMPLEMENTED! WILL it be done BY YOU in the SEASON OF CHANGE?
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Question: What does a Dawn of Eternal Life means to you?Let's say that a UFO came down or up to earth, and promised to fulfill one goal or dream, that you have been trying to achieve but failed at every turn. The U.S. Department of Defense and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence are expected to present an unclassified report on what the government knows about to Congress in June 2021.But there were rules you had to follow before you could receive this goal or dream. After going through this "Time For Change Command" you received the goal or dream that was promised which one of the three rules would you choose?Three (3) RulesThe rules were to:#1 Learn something new, but you disliked it.#2 Receive training from a person you do not trust.#3 Go through the process of hurt from a past pain.Daily Faith Walk will be going LIVE next month and we will choose three (3) listeners to participate in a panel discussion.PS: If you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Stitches or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk) Thank you for your support
Morning, Afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!! I do not own the rights to this music, but I do own the right to HUSSLE & MOTIVATE people who are following their dreams and goals!Todays, Daily Faith Walk podcast entitled, Hussle & Motivate: Remember the Best and Forget the Rest!I realize that 2020, will be hard to forget with COVID-19 and all the pain and suffering it brought, but you are a SURVIVOR, and we owe it to our families and yourself to HUSSLE AND MOTIVATE your mind and mediate on things that are true, real, things that could help you achieve your goals and dreams, something that has merit, and is significant! And distance does not separate people, silence does!Question: What painful memories have kept you from fulfilling your goals and dreams? Now that we are slowly returning to a “new norm”, we can choose to remember and start up our “bucket list” and take act to access the greatness within as we tackle our smart goals again. Focus only on the positive results, we know how the past negative things ended. There is a quote from one of my mentors, the great Les Brown, says to express your greatness, not your weakness, you must maintain a MILLION DOLLAR MINDSET.I was reading something out of a friend's book I recently purchased and, these negative thoughts,(forget the rest) seem to fit the title of this episode, so on 11 titled, “There Upon The Stage,”, were these words: “Perish the thought of petty DISCONTENTS” where “failure” roams and doubts vents, its cowardly hides on a curtained stage, while spectators roar with a jabbing rage. There is a quote for “iliketoquote.com, it says, “It's ironic, how we often forget the things worth remembering, but remember the things worth forgetting.”Also, there is a statistic, that we think negative 80 % of the time, so I was thinking since we are 80% water let us drown the 80% of negative thoughts with 20% positive ones.EXCERPT FROM MY BOOK (From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown) Chapter 8: RESTORATION The second week at Oral Roberts University as a senior, was no joke, or should I say the joke was on me, because I was still living a lie about how well the classes and the experience is going. I am in the Restore Hope Ministry (my internship) parking lot listening to the radio station, right before I start my morning at 9:00 a.m. Ricky Smiley plays a gospel song at the same time every morning and calls this segment, “the praise break”, Lord knows I need one and the Holy Spirit can through in a miracle or two in the form of assisting with my GPA. Right then and there the Holy Spirit taught me that, I needed to recognize the source of the struggle and the source of my peace. My peace is not using the miracles, blessing, or resources God supplies, but allowing the Holy Spirit to restore my peace and faith during the struggle. It is crazy how I forget the things worth remembering, but can recall the things that are worth forgetting, such as my past mistakes, hurts, fears, and doubts. God is using my deepest pain as the launching pad of my greatest calling in life, which is to let the broken person know that you too can receive restoration. Excerpt from my book: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-GownChapter 8: RESTORATION Monday, January 14, 2013 -Three years to the date I set in my first lecture and was officially on the attendance roll. No one told me this college life requires so much discipline and maturity, which over the past three years I should have developed. I find it challenging just to know that the teachers were called professors, teaching technical knowledge not on a one-on-one basis but global in some cases. However, there was one part I enjoyed, but did not get paid for was the internships.Morning, Afternoon, Evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for YOU personally!! When I think about Reward vs. Revenge, a Bruce Lee quote comes to mind regarding "belief systems", and I quote, "Man, the living creature, the creating INDIVIDUAL, is always MORE important than any "established" style or system".PS: If you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Stitches or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk) Thank you for your support
Morning, Afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!QUESTION: How many decisions you made resulted in a power shift?Today we are going to receive help in making power shift decisions, by having a consciousness or awareness of your thoughts, actions, feelings, sensations, perceptions, and other mental processes.Having an awareness, leaves 80% of the guess work out of the decision-making process.By being conscious or aware of yourself and the world around you, right decision can be put into play.Boy, I am glad I made the DECISION to leave Atlanta and go to Tulsa (Oral Roberts University) despite never going to college, no money and at the age of forty-nine (49)!!!!What a POWER SHIFT!!!A quote from Zora Neale Hurston, made me look at decisions and tribulations that may result from them are meaningful lessons in time. She said, "There are years that ask questions and years that answer." Same with the decisions you make, years of asking why I made that decision, and years of answers. Your end result is that the goal or dream here is to have more power shift answers then questions. Now, back to your consciousness, which is also an aspect of many mental processes, such as things we meditate, and act on while making these power shift decision. For example quick decisions are made to invest in stock, pressure decisions to get married because of aging. Albert Einstein had this to say, "Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value."The number #1 DECISION YOU HAVE TO MAKE IS:Have the faith, intensity, in knowing that good things are supposed to happen to and for YOU!To develop your consciousness or awareness you need to remember, patience , you are NOT your emotions, feelings, and you can deal with the pain of rejection and failure, because they are NOT a person just an event!I will leave you with a quote from Steve Jobs, "Things don't have to change the world to be important." WOW, WOW, WOW (Read that again)Until our next Daily Faith Walk- Be Healthy and Safe!!ps. Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally! No, I did not leave you promise less, if that's even a word! My editing person was not available to combine the two audio recordings. So here we go!I left off with the written transcript of five (5) wonderful quotes about failure and aging, which as absolutely nothing to do with your TBP-Throwback Promises. Here's three (3) more quotes that will get you closer to your goals, dreams, and throwback promises.Les Brown talked about surrounding yourself with OQP- Only Quality People, this quote goes hand and hand with the OQP"No person is your friend who demands your silence or denies your right to grow."--Alice Walker delivered this empowering message back in 1972, think about it!!"One child, one teacher, one pen, and one book can change the world."-Malala Yousafzai, in 2014 she received the Nobel Peace Prize, before that at age 15, while on the way to school on a bus with friends, she was shot in the head.Look I had no idea that at age 53 years old I would be the first in my family to obtain a Bachelor's degree in social work, and now in the process of publishing my second book, starting a podcast. Everything that I am saying on this podcast, you already know. I simply want to make room for my gift of encouraging, comforting, and giving hope to people in need of completing their goals, dreams, and throwback promises.Another excerpt from my book: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown: The Key to Survival, Success, and Significance.Tuesday, May 29, 2012Looking over my social work degree plan, my advisor suggest that I take some more classes over the summer to ensure that I graduate on time come May 3, 2014. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw on the curriculum Elementary Statistics, heck I barely passed Algebra in high school, at that moment all the results of walking by faith was running out the door. Why and when will a social worker need elementary statistics, I thought but while reading the objective, outline, and other materials there were several hypotheses or proposed explanations made based on limited best practices used in the vulnerable communities for a future advocate such as myself. This class involved a lot of case studies and research, which I had no discipline of being a person that spent time in the library, the club, the bed may be but not those places. This professor, in my opinion was way past the retirement age, he was very fragile due to some type of illness. Some days he would fall asleep at his desk while we did assignments in class, but hey all I am trying to do is make it to the end, which is June 15. I was not told to have a fancy calculator called the TI-84 Plus. Bless God one of my classmates had one and was not taking summer classes, so I was able to hold hers and not worry about how I was going to buy a calculator that cost a hundred bucks. We the recording is about to end, and you have homework. Yeah those three (3) questions from Part II. Please send the responses to my email, and I will choose three (3) and have the three individuals as a guest on Facebook.dwellssw1@gmail.com p.s. if you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple iTunes, Spotify, Stitches or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk) Thank you for your support!!!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe Donna here for you personally!Today is the throwback Thursday promise part II. These following statements or questions are different than the audio version.Question what are three (3) life experiences that taught you a lesson, about your #tbpromises? Now I want you to describe three (3) things that brings you joy, while going after your goals, dreams, and throwback promises?Last but not least name three (3) people who are your "supporting cast" or a "support system" in obtaining your goals, dreams, and throwback promises?Too many times we get caught up in The law of diminishing state, loosing the zeal and not counting the cost, instead of concentrating on the state of improvement and needing to put in more effort at any cost to advance our goals, dreams, and throwback promises.Nevertheless, we fall into the "I am a failure" mode, so here are a few quotes to bring you back to reality:"I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I cannot accept not trying." --Michael Jordan"Failure is an event, not a person. Yesterday ended last night".--Motivational speaker and business coach ZIG ZIGLAR"Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving."--Terry Pratchett, Discworld, the fictional universe that bestselling author.I list what their professions were because they have all had goals, dreams, and throwback promises too. Here's an excerpt throwback promise of my own, while attending Oral Roberts University at the age of fifty-one (51), from my book: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown.Friday, May 25, 2012Today is my 51st beloved day which I am grateful but should be farther along in my life according to the world system. Therefore, feelings of inadequacy have made what should be a happy occasion one of grief and emotional despair. Well, enough of the verbal pity party, and the only thing that is going to bring me back to this walking by faith results mode, was to follow my plan of buying a full-size bedroom suit like the old folks say, which includes the mattress, box spring, bed frames, you know the works. No longer having a second place to sleep, enjoying a queen-size bed at Larry's, place, because he was back with his ex-girlfriend, after our big fight. Yes, his presence was missed, that balanced scale ( Libra) servant attitude was great and right on time when I needed it. But I could not let my flesh and emotions get in the way of God's plans and promises, especially with me allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me. Praise God for the financial aid refund, it was God's way of cheering me up and it worked.Pulling out my "encouragement" bag of quotes, I ran across one that refers to the aging folks! Also, one for people who are not so supportive and have a limited view of you and themselves!Les Brown says, "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." I guess he should know, since Mr. Brown had a long line of unsuccessful interviews before he landed a CBS Talk Show at the age of 67. Mae Jemison said as a "No Limit Soldier", "Never be limited by other people's limited imaginations."Well, go do your homework, and I will upload the throwback promises episode part III.ps. Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe Donna here for you personally, with a Daily Faith Walk Podcast episode (29) titled “TBP” Throwback PromisesJust like throwback Thursday, (which is today) we have throwback promises, that are subconscious in our mindQuestion: Do you have any TBP's that can be achieved today or the next 21 days?As a child we grew up with so many promises right, from our parents', husbands, wives' and people of authority. And somehow, some way they all disappointed us.That could be the root cause of why, we do not believe God when He makes, a promise. But in the good book of numbers chapter 23 verse 19, it says, God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”Because of COVID-19 our resources are few, but we have our “resourcefulness”, and that my friends came from you working the principles of life. What I like to call the THREE S's- Survival, Success, and Significance. During, my daily faith walks, I stumble upon a quote from Anne Lamott, an author that I can relate to regarding being let down, she says, and I quote, “Almost everything will work again, IF you unplug it for a few minutes, including YOU.” And another saying from a comic book.Just remember… if things look hopeless, maybe you are facing the wrong direction! — Ziggy, from "Ziggy," on having the right attitude.Unplugging, much like fasting and praying is universally true, and speaks to the importance of rest. All things, including humans need to detach themselves from the day-to-day routine to function properly. This will give you time to reflect on the THROWBACK PROMISES.p.s. if you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk) Thank you for your support!!!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Today’s live “Daily Faith Walk” is entitled “Habits Are They Changes or Chains?” Question: The habit or habits you have are they producing change or forming chains? To answer that question, we must look at so call good habits verses bad ones. For example, some say, if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit, like exercise, but what if at that 22 day mark you have accomplished your goal. Is it time to drop the habit and risk going back to no exercise, or just keep doing the same workout with no real change? Therefore, God gave man a “will” to evolve, be innovate, not just routine meaning doing the same task over, and over again. We have a brain that is craving for us to step out of our comfort zone, excuses zone, and blame zone to manifest the gifts, talents and abilities that are innate in each man being.Langston Hughes was one of the leading poets of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and ‘30s, an intellectual and creative celebration of Black culture. Hughes’ innovative and moving “Jazz Poetry” has inspired generations of writers. In his poem “Dreams,” he reminds us of the power of hope to lead us upwards, and the dangers of living without it. Langston Hughes the poet wrote these lines, “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die; life is a broken-winged bird, that cannot fly.”“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”--MOTHER TERESA“DO WHAT YOU DO SO WELL THAT THEY WILL WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN AND BRING THEIR FRIENDS”. —WALT DISNEYExcerpts from : From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown Saturday, March 3, 2012After calling one of my nephews and wishing him a Happy Birthday, something triggers the memories, of being divorced and not spending time with my son, during his becoming a man years with experiencing how to treat a woman. This PTSD seems to occur every time I enter any type of relationship. Having a pre-dating question and answer session with myself and knowing that single men always asked the same questions, such as how many kids to you have, how many times have you been married, and the list goes on. But Edgar was different, he was not judgmental, just insecure, and perhaps guilty of the same crimes of the past as I was about abandonment issues, whether we did the deed or it was done to us, still we just were there for each other baggage and all. Nevertheless, it was wonderful having a man that was attractive and thought the same about me. He would encourage me to continue pursuing my degree, it was like the Holy Spirit told him something or someone was coming to restore confidence in himself too.p.s. if you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple Itunes, Spotify, Stitcher or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk)Thank you for your support!!!!
Morning, afternoon, evening, whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!I do not own the rights to this music, but I own the rights to my SCENES IN LIFE, which happens to be the title of todays podcast: When You Are On the Scene, (of life), God is Behind the ScenesQuestion: Do you feel like your scenes in life, has been cancelled, cut, or put on repeat?I have many times, but I keep waking up to the same Director, Producer, and Writer. Who are they you ask? Well that would be God the director, Jesus as the producer, and the Holy Spirit yep, the writer of course, writing the scripts and setting the scenes in my life, hopefully in yours too after listening and receiving what He is trying to reveal to you.The producer Jesus Christ, paid the cost, and sometimes allows us to be one of the executive producers. Isn't that wonderful!!!When I am scratching my head, asking myself why am I here, or how am I even? This quote comes to mind, by Friedrich Nietzsche, "He who has a why to live for can bear with almost any how".For example, after Ruth's husband died, she probably asked that question, but instead chose to go with her mother-in-law. But God the director was working behind the senses. In Ruth 2:16, Boaz was the director and producer, giving a directive to his crew to allow Ruth glean or gather up more resources than the others in the marketplace.Yeah, I hear you saying, what about the storms of life that just keeps on coming, right I think about them too, but I crawl out of bed, thinking whether someone or something is going to prevent my director, producer, and writer from saying ACTION, CUT, or TAKE TWO. But if your eyes are open, you have a script and you are required to be on set, and GOD IS BEHIND THE SCENES! We have to trust God and our heart! There is another quote from Josiah Gilbert Holland that makes me happy. He says, " The heart is wiser than the intellect." Therefore, bet on RED, your heart. Also, in the good book, Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and ..when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned or scorched."Excerpts: from my book- From Greyhound to A-Cap-N-Gown- (Chapter 7 - The Results of Living By Faith)Saturday, February 25 2012As you can tell by the dates, it has been a minute since writing anything down on paper, because my life has been crazy. Three months before my birthday, I have avoided eviction, failing two vital courses, and having a stoke due to stress and anxiety. But the good new is I got approved for affordable housing, because I am considered elderly. Driving to my new place called Hewgley Terrace was similar to my mom's place in Atlanta off Auburn Avenue.p.s. if you have not done so already, please leave a review on Apple Itunes, Spotify, Stitcher or by visiting my Facebook Group page (Daily Faith Walk)Thank you for your support!!!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe Donna here for you personally!Question: How many of us feel like giving up?There are many reasons to give up, but I can think of a couple more for you to "look up" and hang on in there!Restoration normally, comes when we have one leg in the pit and the other one in the air.I Kings 17:7 (NIV) Sometimes later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.” Yesterday, was Mother's Day and I (we) were all decked out in designer clothes, handbags, and shoes right, however God's goal for my life and yours is to be covered in designer 'character", such as virtue, vision, value, and mission. The Holy Spirit whispered, you look lovely Donna but I want you to feel this way everyday from the inside out! Ephesians 4:22-24 (The Message), “Take on an entirely new way of life-a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.” When we wear these "designer" virtues, values, and visions it makes our mission earier to restore our sisters and brothers who think we are "stuck up" or so high minded that we are no earthly good.... Galatians 6:1, “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sing, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”QOUTE: " I feel that luck is a product of hard work".- - --- Nipsey HussleAlso, I heard L.U.C.K stood for Living Under Christ Kindness! What say Ye, let's have a "No giving up party", today and everyday by helping someone else with whatever you have available.Bye for NOW! Love You with the LOVE of the LORD!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case may be, Donna here for you personally! With todays Daily Faith Walk, episode entitled, " HIT THE GAS IT'S TIME TO ACCELERATE!Question: Is it just me or do you feel like someone let the GAS OUT of your tank of LIFE?No worries, SEE in the book of John 2:9-10 (NLT), it says, "When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine...he called the bridegroom over. " A host always serves the best wine first," he said..."but you have kept the best until NOW!That is exactly what the Holy Spirit is whispering to US, HIT THE GAS NOW!Therefore, we should thank our PAST & PRESENT for the DECOR of our FUTURE, in which we are to HIT THE GAS, BECAUSE IT'S TIME TO ACCELERATE!Back to John 2: 9-10, it was the first miracle Jesus did, but it was NOT the last, so let US HIT THE GAS!!I love this quote by Coco Chanel, who grew up in an orphanage, I can only imagine the many, many times she had to talk, and encourage herself.QUOTE: The most courageous act is STILL to THINK for YOURSELF "ALOUD" --Coco Chanel.Question: What was your most courageous act?Mine was escaping an abusive relationship, riding the greyhound bus from Atlanta, Ga to Tulsa, Ok.We have to also, quit saying, " I have to find myself", but let's take action with a quote from George Bernard Shaw-- "Life is not about FINDING yourself, LIFE IS ABOUT CREATING YOURSELF.Once you do that the Holy Spirit, has permission from you to accelerate what may have taken you twenty years (20) to accomplish, and BOOM in an instant the dream or goal with manifest. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking according to Matthew 7:7-8.GOD KNOWS HOW TO HIT THE GAS OF ACCELERATION IN YOUR LIFE, so let's do it REAL BIG!!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally! The “Daily Faith Walk” episode entitled:IN THE COMPANY OF DISTINCITIONa difference or contrast between similar things or people."there is a sharp distinction between domestic politics and international politics.excellence that sets someone or something apart from others.Excerpts from my book: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-GownChapter 7: THE RESULTS OF LIVING BY FAITHMonday, January 23, 2012 Awaiting LaToya’s return of my car, thinking how many more birthdays I will miss, my big brothers’ birthday was yesterday, and the oldest sibling day is approaching on the 29th. This routine was wearing me out, but I was taught as a Christian and human being we should have compassion for people who were in the same predicament I was in just a few months earlier. I was two months behind on my rent, and utility bills, driving around without any license, everything was coming down on me so quickly, except for my blood pressure. I had to do something fast, so I prayed for a miracle, really, I needed a divine intervention like ASAP. Zach had already paid last month rent and helped a cable bill, plus not to mentioned paid for a couple of books that I needed for the semester. Thank God for the friends around me that were responsible because I sure was not.QUOTE: “You can start late, look different, be uncertain, and still succeed.” By Misty Copeland- in 2015, ballet dancer Misty Copeland became the first Black woman to be made “principal dancer” for the American Ballet Theatre, starting to study ballet at the as of 13 which was considered late!!!QUOTE: “A company is only as good as the people it keeps” by May Kay Ash, Cosmetics entrepreneur since 1963 setting out to create more opportunities for women to support themselves, building a billion-dollar empire. That quote gives me goosebumps, because we are ONLY as successful or impactful, and significant when we KEEP THE RIGHT COMPANY and the right MINDSET!!
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case may be, donna here for you personally!Today's episode on "Daily Faith Walk" is entitled:Spilling the T for Testimony Question: Are you spilling the T or are you wasting IT??Many times, we think that our testimony, is not effective, grand, or super powerful to change someone's perspective on life.News flash you are wrong big time.Let me give you the T, or testimony about all of GOD'S CREATION.In the good book, it says, "Clearly you (me, we) are an living epistles of Christ Jesus; written not with ink but by the Spirit of the Living God.See when you repent and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, your T becomes His T. In other words no one can discredit your t or Testimony. Because, where the Spirit is there is liberty and that liberty in this context means TRUTH; and the truth does not change. There is no liberty that is going to help people so much as a testimony. I find people who do not know how to testify in the right way, and most of the time that is because they are giving the T, they was the people want to hear it. (in bits and pieces). We must give the T only as the Spirit gives us utterance. You are not to use your liberty, or truth and spill the T to make yourself look good, but to give glory to God. So many souls are lost by long prayers and so call testimonies, without words of edification, confirmation or comfort, let alone exalting the Most High God.If we remain in the Spirit, we will know when to sit down and be quiet., when we begin to repeat ourselves, the people get wearied and wish we would sit down, because just like Elvis, the ANOINTING has left the building.2 Corinthians 3:1-3, spilled the T about Paul who needed no introduction or recommendation, after his experience on Damascus road, he went about spilling the T of the gospel, starting with his T-Testimony.Like Paul do not be ashamed of your Damascus road experience, spill the T. If you lack self-confidence as I did at first, put your confidence in the ALL SUFFICIENT ONE, which is the Holy Spirit who abides in you. He will lead and guide you, on what to say, see we have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our T or Testimony, and no one can take that experience away from you, and if they judge you, God will deal with them. This statement says it all about Why we should Spill the THuman beings are members of a whole. In creation of one essence and soul. If one member is afflicted with pain. Other members uneasy will remain. If you have NO SYMPATHY for human pain. Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case may be, Donna here for you personally!QUESTION: Are you running a marathon or a sprint in your life?Running life as a sprinter, we miss the three (3) lifecycles:1. Loses2. Lessons 3. BlessingsLet us take the loses, say you are sprinting through life, trying to make a name for yourself, leaving a legacy for your family or just wanting to be like MIKE. Not saying ambition is a bad thing, but you cannot step or look over people while building your empire.Because one or two things will happen. You will need the person you stepped on, or the person you looked over, may have passed away or on to someone else. The key principle with becoming a WINNER, is that experiencing loses teach you, what is valuable and what is void of value!QUOTE FOR LOSES: "Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself--Paulo CoehoThe lesson cycle seems to have a life of its own, but that is because we keep having to take the same lessons over and over again, then we ask ourselves, why can't I learn something new? Well, the Holy Spirit whispered to me, because you skipped class , that day when I taught that lesson on life. You thought, I will get my BFF to take notes, or catch it on CNN, FOX, or on Twitter, but life doesn't happen on social media outlets, it take place on a personal level. Therefore, the key principle here with becoming a WINNER in the lesson cycle, is that lessons repeated are learn the BEST and can be taught to others but this time in a LEADERSHIP ROLE! That's if you are lucky.....QUOTE FOR LESSONS: "If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time." ---Steve JobsNow, we save the best for last, because God meant for blessing to last!!!We miss our BLESSINGS in this cycle by being a type of flash Gordan, thinking God is too slow, His timing is off, but God the Holy Spirit is conducting a risk assessment of how you handled the last two (2) lifecycles. Because the assessment consist of a transition period which evaluates your "readiness" to become a WINNER , before the transformation from a sprinter to a marathon runner. God wants you to not only obtain the blessings but maintain them too."Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul (mind) prospers." So, as you look at your goals and dreams, write them down in these three lifecycle categories, to see whether or not you are a sprinter or a marathon runner, and make some adjustments accordingly.Excerpts from my book: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-GownSunday, January 1, 2012- I thank God for blessing me to see another year, because of living by faith. I was able to drove my classmate and neighbor Amy to the airport in my car, which I named Faith. Things were going pretty good in my life, all as a result of living by faith.SPIRIT HELP NOTES:Matthew 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Creative Destruction or Success is define as taking a risk in business and going against the grain. When God created man he took a risk also, in giving man a WILL or some call it a free will, some use that will for selfish reasons, others to inspire, either way WE were BORN-2-B-GREAT!Now, I have three (3) questions for you today:1. Why do you do what you do, meaning what you do that is at a "core level"2. What are you trying to "accomplish" today and the years ahead?3. Would you rather be at war with yourself and at peace with the world or at peace with yourself, and at war with the world? Most people would answer that they would gladly have peace with the world, But outward peace is not possible if we are at war with ourselves.QUOTES TO INSPIRE:"On a mission your worst enemy is idle time."---Nipsey Hussle"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."--- George Bernard Shaw.Dolly Parton said, "If you don't like the road you're walking, start paving another."And the last inspirational quote is more of a command: " Get up quickly--just switch on the white light of the WILL".---Susan SontagWhen we look at our goals and dreams, to reach them we must have a strategy or a plan, of describing the situation or problems, what tools or tasks to use, take specific actions and finally keep at it until we see positive results/outcome.Wednesday, November 23, 2011 Thanksgiving is a couple days away, and I am so glad Zach announce that he is having something for the holidays at his place. We just had to bring a dish, sodas, or money to chip in for everything. Normally, Zach would take care of the meats, such as brisket, ham, and the turkey. I would do my homemade mac and cheese, Amy made a great green bean casserole, Gary is not a cook, so he was responsible for the drinks. This was the time when the food stamps came in handy, and I could buy extra food, if someone struggle with money issues, and could only buy things like paper plates, napkins, and cups, since those items cannot be bought with them. Therefore, I had to get up quickly from my pity party pit, rise under difficult circumstances, not with a passive complacency, but with a hopeful fortitude that actively resist me being weary and defeated, because it is not over until God says, “it is finished”. And he has already said that, so now it is my turn to show the Holy Spirit what he has been working with. I have a lot to be thankful for, new friends, having faith for a possible car, getting approved for section 8 or Tulsa Public Housing, and being hired on a job that works well with my school schedule. Even though, I have suffered so many things, mostly at my own hands God the Holy Spirit has supplied me with justification by faith and manifestation of physical things not short of a miracle. SPIRIT HELP NOTES:Galatians 3:5-6, “Therefore, He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you does He do it by the works of the law; or by the hearing of faith?” Hebrews 10: 35-36, “Therefore do not case away your confidence, which has great reward, for you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God you may receive the promise”.
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Question: Why aren't you answering Destiny's Call?Could it be your call got DROPPED, because life happens as a result of the decisions we make. But the good new is that, God telephone system is something like a landline, that's rooted and ground in His Word, for US, and it's called a "lifeline". Your destiny call is still waiting on you to pick up!I answered the call after 48 years, by jumping on a greyhound bus; escaping a domestic violence situation and riding the bus from Atlanta, GA to Tulsa, OK then connecting to the operator who is the "Holy Spirit" only to complete one-third of that Destiny of obtaining a Bachelor's Of Science degree in Social Work. And at age 59, I am still on the call!!! LOLWhen you think about your goals and your dreams, answer the call from your Destiny! It's never too late, because God place your gifts, talents, and abilities inside of you so when you finally pick up the call, Destiny will SPEAK!Saturday, December 31, 2011 -(Excerpt)When I returned from seeing my son and his family in Dallas, Texas, my internet was cutoff. Immediately, the negative thoughts rushed in to say, that this would not have happen if I stayed on campus, but that was the least of my worries, the rent and utilities bill was due. Thinking God had given me the desires of my heart, I soon found out that my desires has to line up with His desires, and they are not always material, but moral such as handling your money, taking care of past due bills, and straitening out a bad driving record so you would be able to get approved for credit and apartments without paying a large deposit on nearly everything you apply for in life.SPIRIT HELP NOTES:Psalm 37:4, " Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Todays, episode entitled, " LOVE PUTS ON THE MASK", on our Daily Faith Walk PodcastI like to begin today with a question:What has been your biggest REASON FOR NOT wearing or wearing the MASK?For me it's my grandbabies, Sydney she is 12 and Ethan is 8. My son Calvin wore his mask but caught covid-19 while hosting a lady friend and her two kids at his home. But this message today is not about what is on your FACE, but what is in your HEART?Here's a quote from James Baldwin:, "Love takes off the MASKS that we fear we cannot live without (love) and know we cannot live within."If you didn't wear your mask, until someone in your family got sick or past, never regret your mistakes, admire the courage it took to attempt the unknown. The good book says in Colossians 3:14, " And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."To differentiate between "equality and equivalence- equality means the type and value are the same;while equivalence means that just the VALUES are the same. Therefore, inequality means minus of BOTH TYPE AND VALUE for people of color.Chapter 4: MANS WILL VS. GODS WILL Tuesday, January 12, 2010 Twelve days into the fast, and I am riding high off my blessings and favor, but I must be careful not to insert my will over God’s will. Well, that thought lasted for a minute, because I did not ask God if it were his will for me to get a seasonal job with Jackson Hewitt, or buy that mini truck, which would be neglecting my commitment to keeping a 3.0 GPA or higher, to achieve the calling on my life and maximizing the experience and education to assist others in accomplishing the same. God’s will for us is to be deployed, not just employed, out in the world to demonstrate how your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men and opportunities, while making room for ours at the same time.
Morning, afternoon evening, whatever the case maybe. Donna here for you personally!!Question: What wall or walls do you have built up in your life.I have many, but with your help on this podcast we will bring them down. Here's a couple of quotes to help tear down some of those walls:Amelia Earhart said, " The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. So, I looked up the word, "tenacity" as a noun it means-the quality or fact of being very determined; determination.Another quote I believe fits the inability to remove walls is worry about what would happen, if the wall or comfort zone wasn't there. First Lady Michelle Obama said, " Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldn't".As we take a look at our hopes and dreams let's work together and do a little "hedge building" and wall destroying!1. Remove negative thought patterns, with positive ones. You may have to go for a walk or cut off the television. Remember your eyes is a "gateway into the soul or mind".2. Make gratitude a habit. Some say keep a journal, I talk to myself about past situations or circumstances I was able to get out of, or catching a lucky break when others had to pay money or wait on something. Gratitude comes in all shapes and sizes.3. Identify your goals and dreams, put them on the refrigerator, because that's a place you visit everyday. You can also keep inspirational quotes there also.4. Get a daily dose of Laughter: Like I mentioned, one of my friends sent me a couple of YouTube video's that were pretty funny.5. Adopt a pet: Countless studies have shown the benefits of owning and loving a pet. Adopting a dog or cat from your local shelter would be a great idea to removing the wall of hurt, by building a hedge of compassion to an animal who will give it back without expecting something in return.Sunday, August 7, 2011 -After church I changed clothes and tried to think positive thoughts about, how I was going to pay rent, getting approved for food stamps, and continuing believing God for a car before my first internship as a social worker. Face it I was independently trapped, in an apartment with no car, no job and no money all a fault of my own. Then this still small voice brought some thing to my remembrance, God's promises does not return to him even if you step out of the faith walk and take your own walk in another direction. It will happen and work with or without you showing up on time. I say that because sensing that I set myself back by moving off campus too soon and not waiting on God. Meanwhile, I had to put my size 8 1/2 shoes back on the faith walk, believe that God was not mad at me and do not listen to the negative voices in my head saying you blew it!SPIRIT HELP NOTES:Job 1:10, "Have You not made a HEDGE around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land."Isaiah 55:11, "So shall My word be that goes for from My mouth it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."Proverbs 3:5-6, " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your path."
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe, Donna here for you personally!Question: What is the first thing comes to mind when you see that BIG sign DETOUR?The definition of detour as a noun is, a long or roundabout route that is taken to avoid something or to visit somewhere along the way.As a verb it is to take a long or roundabout route. Using it in a sentence as a verb for example is how I felt about attending Oral Roberts University, "she detoured around the walls". But the Holy Spirit use the word detour as a "noun" for my "Purpose". "She made a detour to Oral Roberts University.Detour's are part of our DNA from the Creator:Psalm 139:13-15, "For You formed my inward parts; You "covered", me in my mother's womb". Covered is better translated "interwoven". That is, the white bones, blue veins, and red arteries are all woven together. Question: What does that look and sound like?Right, the DNA symbol - See the Trinity kicked in their own DNA (Divine Noble Anointing) before you popped out, (verse 14 says, " I am fearfully and wonderfully made".) for your purpose! Verse 15 means "embroidered with various colors", could that be the anointed gifts, talents and abilities? Ah Yeah! Now, let's go back to the "detour", which has a purpose too. It can be found in Ephesians 3:19-20. Many times, I want to jump right to verse twenty, but the Holy Spirit whispered, "hold up sister girl, check out verse 19, "to know the love of Christ is the essence of the greatest fullness. All the fullness of God speaks of more than one experience or one aspect of His truth or power. It points to a broad-based spirituality, balanced through participating in all of God's1. blessings2. resources3. wisdom, .;.v20, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!ONLY IF WE DO ACTS 2:38
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case may be, Donna here for you personally! On this episode titled, " Walk by faith or run with fear, begins with a question. What are you walking by faith FOR or running with fear FROM?We find ourselves, doing both walking by faith believing for a relationship, job, or circumstances and/or situations to change.A close friend of mine was going through a hard time about being rejected , or a person he/she wanted a relationship with chose someone else; this person wrote:"Being single as a believer, does not mean you are available, it means you are reserved, unless you are living by the system of the demonic (fleshly) world."Running with fear from the responsibilities that go along with a relationship, job or the situation and circumstance can be very stressful.THE REAL PROBLEM is not having FAITH or being in FEAR, but it is NOT knowing who you really are!We must get two (2) important concepts in order: I call the the A.M. Concept!Do not be alarm it's not another am morning workout video or some type of diet, but another one of my ACRONYMS.A FOR Ambition (noun) a strong desire to do or to achieve some thing, typically requiring determination and hard work. Desire and determination to achieve success.M FOR Motivation (noun) the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. The general desire or willingness of someone to do something .Therefore, we must create a bridge for our ambition and motivation to meet. We do this by examining, why we are running in fear, which could date back to us not purging poverty consciousness stuck in years past. For example, growing up wearing hand-me-down clothes from family members and shopping at thrift stores, I developed a poverty consciousness of not buying designer clothing, even when I had the money. Another example is my culture environment of having only one parent, but raised in a neighborhood of a "Brady Bunch" community. For years I felt like I didn't need to be married or have a man in my life, just a friend with benefits. In dealing with walking by faith, static show we walk in faith more than we run from fear. For example, we lay down believing we are going to wake up the next day, working 8 hours a day, five days a week, having faith that our paycheck will be honored at the check cashing play, and deposit directly to our checking account every week or bi-weekly. Right? Here's three (3) quotes to back up this topic of faith and fear from three (3) self-made Millionaires : "The best way out is always through." (Robert Frost), "Work within the rim of what you have ACCESS to". (Nipsey Hussle), "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream". (Mr. Les Brown).Hey, walking by faith does not mean we do not face fear, we just don't let it run our life!Excerpt from my book:, "From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown"Monday, May 9, 2011I was starting to wonder what in the world was I thinking? How could a old dumb black chic make it in a University like this; and somehow automatically comprehend this level of teaching, let alone learn from it after barely finishing high school and no continual education whatsoever. At that moment, the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance that a small step of obedience is a giant move towards a blessing. Lord knows I needed a couple of them right about now. Therefore, I continued my faith walk regaining, reclaiming and refocusing my sight toward the vision that was place before me, and recalling the strength in the beginning to board that greyhound , reassuring myself that I will finish this marathon call life.
Morning , afternoon , evening ! Wherever you may be here's a two-fold message. One from the Holy Spirit, and the other an excerpt from my book, "From Greyhound To A Cap-N-Gown". In the recording, I second quest myself thinking that, it was no such word as, "under producing" , but I looked it up! (un.der.pro.duce) is a verb, gerund or present participle: under-producing, meaning- produce less of (something) than is wanted or needed.using in a sentence: "this strategy increases the risk that the company could underproduce popular toys:Saturday, March 19, 2011Missing another family member birthday, this time it is my niece Rena, I could diagnose myself as codependent, because of taking care of every family member by remembering small things like their birthdays. And my son just texted me saying they (wife and her grandmother), were admitting Eve’s mom to some type of mental hospital, because she was acting strange. Thinking to myself, saying so am I. Spirit Help Note:It's our human nature to frame our world from bits and pieces of our past, present, but not the future. And many times those experiences are not good ones. This is why we must understand how faith works. This is my thoughts ONLY: The worlds were framed, but they did not stay that way in the beginning the earth was void, so God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit changed what they saw to how they knew it should be.In the same why WE MUST CALL THE FUTURE in over the past and the present because that is where our heavenly father in high places want us to think and be on earth!!!!HEBREW 11:3, "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."
Monday, December 13, 2010So, I have made it to another semester. It is the end of Fall 2010 and my grades have not improved but at least I am passing. Recently, I had to withdraw from an Elementary Spanish class, because I could not handle it along with the course load, and barely passing my major, introduction to social work. Maybe the decision not to get a degree in Pastoral Ministry, was not so smart, since I knew the word of God better than the practices and principles of social work. Nevertheless, I am going to get a tutor, study and walk by faith in this going to school at fifty thang. There was some good news, the advisor waived the swimming requirements because of my ages,( plus old girl was not about to get her wig wet) see if you are fifty and over you do not have to take the class or the test, which leaves me free time to study upstairs on the fifth floor, in the tutoring lab.Not having a car is killing me, if it were not for the faith walk physically and mentally, emotionally I would be on the first greyhound bus back to Atlanta, because the transit system in Broken Arrow and Tulsa is way behind the times. Sometimes, on my daily faith walks to classes, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, even though it gets a little dim . Only by the grace of God I have not turn tail and run back home, and hearing all those folks, who bet on me to fail. Therefore, I went about my daily faith walk of life with a fervent, patient hope that the Holy Spirit will do his thing in His timing, and deal with the negative events along the way.SPIRIT HELP NOTE:Isaiah 40: 30-31, "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who "wait" on the LORD, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint".
I like to begin today's episode with a question. What has been your hardest, transition in order to make a needed transformation? The Holy Spirit whispered a statement , I need to transition you from something to transform you to something! So, let's check out the definition of transition, as a "noun" it is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another, for example losing your job, a spouse, or a home.A biblical example can be found in Matthew 26:50 (AMP), Jesus is speaking, "Friend do what you came for". this is a sign of betrayal but also a transition and transformation Jesus knew about. Just like God knew about the covid19 virus, our transition and transformation of who we are called to be doesn't stop because of a pandemic. Now let us check out the definition for transformation or transform, as a verb it means to make a thorough or dramatic change in form, appearance or character, and as a noun it says a RULE for making a transformation, so we see here that there are rules or laws to transformation...WOW!A woman by the name of Rosabeth Moss Kanter said, there were ten reasons people resist transition or change, here's five (5). Loss of control, Excess uncertainty, Concerns about competence, such as can I do it? and Past resentments, and the final one is Surprise, surprise! decisions imposed on people suddenly, with no time to get used to the idea. This makes me thing about a quote from William Bridges about transition, he said, "It is when we are in transition that we are most COMPLETELY ALIVE! And Bryant McGill says this regarding transformation, "Real transformation requires real HONESTY. If you want to move forward---GET REAL WITH YOURSELF!Talk about transition to transformation in this 11th episode, speaks parallels to mine. I invite you to purchase my book to read about from greyhound to a cap and gown is a true faith transition and transformation. I am not talking about the transition from the terminator to the governor of California, but the transition from what I use to be to the person God created me to become here on earth.SPIRIT HELP NOTE:Matthew 26:50, "Friend, do what you came for".
I like to begin today's episode with a question? Have you ever broken the law? While listing to a couple of my favorite podcasts, the Holy Spirit whispered the two subjects that applied to me breaking the laws of life, and it goes like this:Ouch! I cannot fix what I am not facing, which is the three (3) Laws of Wisdom (LIFE). Number #1 is the Parkinson's Law, a law of growth (in spiritual form) to prevent procrastination, by setting clear "deadlines", of achieving my goal, calling or vision.Number #2 is Murphy's Law of, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". But as a believer in the Law of Attraction and Expectation, (or faith), I say it this way, "Anything that can go right will go right", Number #3 which confirms my biggest problem, the Manson's Law of Avoidance, which explains how people will avoid something that will threaten their identity. But the identity we have of ourselves is and will always be different than the one God created us to be. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that our self-image or self-concept is too low for God, and we are threaten when He gives us something we cannot see ourselves doing or being successful it, so we avoid it and Him. This reminds me of a quote from one of my mentors, the great Les Brown-, "Until you handle it with grace, it will stay in your face". Right about now the whole world is watching the trial of former officer Derek Chauvin, to determine if he broke the law of "excessive force".SPIRIT HELP NOTE:Human as we are, we have biases of what we already know! 2 Timothy 2:15 says to rightfully divide the word of truth.
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe! This Daily Faith Walk is very personal because, this is my "re-birth" day. Back in March 27, 1993, the old Donna Marie Wells was put to death, and then her "re-birth" was supernaturally manifested, by the might hand of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit whispered from the book of Ecclesiastes 7: 1, " A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of DEATH than the day of one's birth..."Confronting one's own mortality at the funeral of another should make one live a wiser, more sober life, especially with COVID-19!
Excerpt from: From Greyhound To A Cap-N-GownMonday, August 2, 2010I moved to 1210 Francis Clara dorm on the 12th floor, which was the "quite area" mainly for older student from ages thirty-five and up. I was vulnerable to this type of situation, (living on campus and moving every semester) but valuable in the sight of God because He approved a move, meal plan, and no roommate every time just for me!But on this faith walk, the enemy of my carnal mind, walked with me constantly reminding me of the fact that i was not from a pedigree like the others who attended Oral Roberts University. Each day I had to read Joyce Myers book, "Battlefield of the Mind" to stay focus and to remind myself that I too am valuable!Stop focusing on present circumstances, and situation once God has blessed you out of one move on to the next blessings, because He knows the beginning from the end. Also, remember you are suck with God as a heavenly father, because it is He who created your parents then you.Spirit Help Note:Psalm 118:24, NLT, "This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it"Romans 8:38-39 (TLB) " I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God' love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are, high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean, nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us."
Morning, afternoon, evening whatever the case maybe. Todays DAILY FAITH WALK deals with a "spiritual" 4-way stop sign in life, instead of the S.T.O.P. we have the T.S.P.G. The 4 Ways the Holy Spirit guides Us:1st with guiding us to Truth, the truth about who we really are, 2nd if the Holy Spirit is guiding us to Truth, then He is leading us away from something, and that is Sin, Acts 2:38 tells us to repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 3rd when WE make room for our gift we find talents and abilities to help others and that is Purpose, finally once we discover our purpose it is time to put God's will in motion, which is the RESTORATION OF MAN-KIND.Spirit Help Note:John 16:13, "However, when He the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth...".Galatians 5:16, " I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh".Luke 4:18, " The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel ….".Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do Your will, for you are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness".Remember, you are never alone. The Holy Spirit (3rd Godhead) is always willing and able to help and guide you! He is three (3) in (1) within you: Advocate, Helper, and Comforter!
Faith Walk is a walk of fame not a walk of shame, before this faith walk I had a lot of stress I could not rest. They say it's levels to our faith, I say it's hills and valleys . In 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV), "For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Therefore, we must add a 6th sense to our 5 senses. Walking by faith and not by sight, hearing what our faith ears, what the Holy Spirit is saying, seeing with our faith eyes, where the Holy Spirit takes and saws us. Touching and agreeing (Matthew 18:18-19) with other believers until it comes to path. Calling those things that be not, as though they were and in God's "perfect timing" they will BE!
