Acomi and Turk182 discuss the comments actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made about comic book movies, and news that he'll be playing the Marvel comics character Wonder-Man a.k.a. Simon Williams, in an upcoming Disney+ series. Yahya, known for playing Black Manta in the Aquaman movie and Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen HBO series, was quoted in a magazine referring to acting in comic book, or superhero movie, as "clown work". He stated that it didn't require him to actually act or put forth an effort in playing the roles. In true Turk fashion, like a current popular sing on a barstool, this didn't sit well. Finding his comments to be dismissive to the comic book industry and everyone who works on them, the actors who've been in comic book movies, and the fans that support both entertainment fields, Turk raged. And, Acomi watched in delight. Acomi and Turk breakdown Yahya's acting career, great comic book movies, and great performances by the actors, and show just how wrong he is. In addition, show his lack of dedication to the art. We're sure his comments reflect really well during the current writers and actors strike. And, Turk vows to not watch the Wonder-Man series, if he stays attached. Even further, he won't watch anymore Marvel movies if he'll be a part of them. Incidentally, Yahya's half-hearted and equally insulting "apology" only made things worse. #OMTWF #Acomi #Turk182 #KorovaEntertainment #Marvel #MarvelComics #MCU #DC #DCComics #DCEU #Aquaman #WonderMan #YahyaAbdulMateenII #Watchmen #Watchmenseries #HBOWatchmen #HBO #Max Follow Acomi on Twitter at @AcomiDraws and on Instagram at AcomiDraws. The 'Verse! Squad sat down with the team from VFX studio MARZ (Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies) , who brought WandaVision to life. We had a great conversation with co-President Lon Molnar and CG Supervisor Anthony De Chellis , who gave us an inside look at the magic behind the popular series. Molnar and De Chellis talked about how they started their careers, secretive on-set environment, future projects, and delved deep into the effects that really made WandaVision work. Some are obvious, and others are fine, but critical details that you'd never catch. Tune in to hear about them! Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies (MARZ) is a premium VFX studio delivering feature-film quality on TV timelines. Outside of WandaVision, you can see their work on critically acclaimed shows like Watchmen (HBO), The Umbrella Academy (Netflix), The Expanse (Amazon Prime), Living With Yourself (Netflix) and more. Références :“‘Watchmen': Damon Lindelof Shares How The New HBO Adaptation Deals with White Supremacy”, Steve Greene“The Great Achievement of “Watchmen” Is in Showing How Black Americans Shape History”, Victor Luckerson“The Best TV Show About Racism Was a Comic-Book Fantasia.
