In Episode 250, I sit down with my old partner from our days as Port of Seattle police officers, Aaron Myers. We take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on our time in law enforcement—the highs, the challenges, and ultimately, what led us both to walk away and forge new paths. Beyond his career shift, Aaron is a dedicated purple belt in jiu-jitsu, pouring his time and energy into the art. We discuss how his journey on the mats has shaped him as a person and where he hopes to take his training next. Aaron is someone I deeply respect, and reconnecting after all these years was truly a pleasure. I hope you enjoy Episode 250 of the Endless Endeavor Podcast! Jeanerette defeats Morgan City 26-6 - Interviews with Coaches CC Paul & Aaron Myers

Jeanerette defeated Morgan City on Sept 10th (game moved to Loreauville due to a sloppy field at Jeanerette due to rainy weather. KBZE's Neal McClelland interviewed Jeanerette Head Football Coach CC Paul and Morgan City Head Football Coach Aaron Myers.  McClelland also penned the article below, for the Daily Iberian  LOREAUVILLE - According to Jeanerette football coach C.C. Paul, Saturday's 26-6 win over Morgan City was a good performance for his Tigers. "I think that we played four quarters of football," Paul said after his Tigers moved to 2-0 on the season for the first time in more than a decade. "Some of the young guys stepped up, the offense and defense played well and as a whole, we did well in the game." Touchdowns from Kelby Guillory, Traville Frederick and a pair of safeties were enough for Jeanerette to overcome playing a Class 4A school that only managed to get into Jeanerette territory twice in the game.   But the one thing that Paul said his team needed to work on was the fact that Jeanerette had four touchdowns called back due to penalties. There were also a pair of touchdowns called back by penalty in the week one win over Westminster Christian as well. "That's the main thing that we need to work on starting Monday," Paul said. "We've had too many touchdown called back in the past couple of games plus we dropped three more touchdown passes tonight." "I tell the kids all the time you need to step up and make plays when it's time to do so." Jeanerette made enough plays Saturday to tame the visiting Tigers in a game that was moved from Jeanerette to Loreauville because the field at Jeanerette was unplayable due to recent heavy rains. Guillory, the high jump specialist, got things started for Jeanerette with a touchdown reception from Zion Colar in the second quarter. That was followed by the first of two safeties as Morgan City quarterback Thomas Mancuso dropped a snap and kicked the ball out of the back of the end zone to avoid a defensive touchdowns. Frederick scored on a pass from Colar in the second quarter and the resulting two-point conversion made the score 18-0. Morgan City got on the board in the third quarter on a touchdown pass to cut the lead to 18-6 but another safety from Jeanerette made the score 20-6 and a final score from the Tigers in the fourth quarter gave the final 26-6 margin. Though the first two weeks of the season, Paul has liked what he as seen from his team for the most part. "Our defense has been playing lights out," Paul said. "The last two weeks we have given up one offense touchdown and our offense is starting get into rhythm and by mid-season, I think that we are going to have it all working together." Morgan City coach Aaron Myers said that his team is young and that there is a lot that they need to work on to get better but they are slowly coming around. "We're just a young group," Myers said. "We played hard and we fought to the end. We're improving we just have to keep going in the right direction. "The biggest difference tonight was that we didn't have some calls go our way." A short week for Jeanerette comes as the Tigers head on the road to face Lake Arthur Friday in another non-district game as the Tigers try to go 3-0.

Please tune in to hear about Aaron Myers. From his site Aaron2.meEntertainer. Artist. Veteran. Entrepreneur. Believer. These are just a few of the titles claimed by DC-based jazz artist Aaron Myers, whose life story is anything but typical. Originally from Goodlow, Texas, Myers found his passion for performing at an early age while playing music in the church, eventually choosing the piano as his instrument of choice. His soulful baritone voice, second-to-none stage presence and captivating personality make him one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in jazz!As a young man, Aaron joined the United States Army where he served for 2 years before enrolling at Navarro College where he majored in business and theater. While at Navarro, Aaron ran for Mayor of Corsicana, the town where the school was located. Despite losing a closely contested election, Myers decided then and there that politics and advocacy would continue to play a major role in his life. After college, Aaron packed up and headed out west to Los Angeles where he got his first taste of life as a professional entertainer. While in California, he was the featured talent at the Fashion TV's 10 year Anniversary Party, made his rounds as a studio musician and served as a Music Supervisor for the film “A Song and a Prayer.” Within ministry, he was the Assistant to the Youth Pastor at West Angeles Church of God in Christ while also serving as the musician for the Youth Department - never straying too far from his gospel roots. After a life-altering accident that almost claimed his right hand, Aaron decided he needed a change. So, he joined the Obama Campaign for Change in 2008 as a Field Organizer in the battleground states of Texas and Florida, finding his love for community organizing and engagement, and slowly working his way back into playing shape. After the campaign was over, he moved to Washington D.C. where fostered his gift for advocacy and began establishing himself as a musician-to-know in the vibrant jazz scene of Chocolate City.Upon Aaron's arrival in our Nation's Capital, he immediately began activating spaces for live performances around the city, ultimately serving as Resident Artist at the Black Fox Lounge for 5 years while producing over 150 shows before becoming the current Resident Artist at the storied Mr. Henry's Restaurant in Capitol Hill. He remained committed to his role as an activist as well, becoming the National Director for the now defunct Global Family Program headed by the late Linda Grover, staying active with the DC Young Democrats and by forming the DC Jazz Lobby in 2016 which focuses on music and arts policy initiatives at the federal and local levels.Mr. Myers is a stout advocate for Mental Health and LGBTQI Rights. As part of his advocacy, he chairs the Board of Directors for the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation as well as serves as Board Secretary of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington. He sits as a member of the board of directors for CTE Vision Foundation and Covenant Full Potential Development Center. During the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, he has led the DMV Music Stakeholders cohort as they share resources, offer relief, and advocate for community needs to help strengthen and preserve Washington's music ecosystem. Please visit his site and tune in for more about Aaron Myers!

This week Washington State, Oregon and California start Lockdown Number 2. Our governors are continuing to violate the constitutional rights of Americans on an unprecedented level. This continues to put Law Enforcement Officers in a position where they have to make the choice of either supporting tyranny or freedom. I’m joined once again by Patrol Officer Aaron Myers, as he was so well received last week. These are historic times and the choices officers and politicians make in the months ahead are going to have a generational impact.   Connect with Aaron on Instagram @aaronmyers190 Connect with me on Instagram @granderson33   Episode resources: www.moyabrand.com  www.curednutrition.com checkout code ENDLESS

In Episode 21 I sit down with my friend Aaron Myers who is a patrol officer in the Seattle area. Aaron and I have worked countless shifts together and I always appreciated his perspectives and his approach to police work. Aaron has a realistic and refreshing approach regarding so many social issues plaguing our society. In wake of all the political pressures, it is becoming rare to hear police officers speak their mind and share their perspectives. Social issues such as politics, BLM, toxic masculinity, and converting children’s gender have all become talking points that officers either support of receive backlash. Its refreshing to hear an officer’s real and honest opinions. First you find it, then you feel it, then you face it, then you heal it. This was a huge lesson I learnt through my journey of healing anxiety. It’s a process that I tried to cut short and go straight to the healing of anxiety. Unfortunately (as Aaron relays) it’s not that simple. If it was that simple anxiety wouldn’t even be a thing! Through something called ‘Radical Acceptance’, we can come to a place where anxiety is no longer a place of no return, but a place of learning and understanding… which very shortly evolves into a state of growth; not regression. Aaron Myres; a previous client and now friend of mine grew up in the chaos of loneliness, self-doubt and constant simmering anxiety that seemed to brew up over time. He’s done wonders over the period we worked together in our coach-client relationship, and has come out the other side in consistent growth and expansion. I am beyond proud of his progress. If Aaron’s story resonates, then please feel free to reach out to either Aaron or I. You are not a burden to either of us in letting us know your struggles. Become a Patron: https://engagingmissions.com/patron (https://engagingmissions.com/patron) The Bible has a lot of stories about God seeking the lost. Sometimes, Christians forget to join in the search. Aaron Myers joins to share about how the Church can be involved, specifically with Muslims. He works with Crescent Project and Everywhere to Everywhere to train believers on sharing the Gospel with Muslims. After working in Turkey for four years, Aaron and his family moved back to the States. He now wants to see the Church equip and encourage Christians to share the Good News with their neighbors.
