Sherry Peel Jackson is a retired IRS agent, CPA, and Certified Fraud Examiner who now dedicates her work to helping everyday people understand how to reduce their taxes, protect their income, and build wealth. With over 35 years of experience and a mission to educate the middle class, Sherry teaches strategies used by the wealthy to keep more of what they earn—including how to legally avoid taxes, structure businesses wisely, and protect assets. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Sherry exposes the disparity in how the IRS treats mom-and-pop businesses versus large corporations. Starting a home-based business opens up powerful tax deductions not available to W-2 employees. Keeping thorough records, especially receipts, is essential for audit protection—credit card statements alone won't cut it. The KPG system (Keep, Protect, Grow) is Sherry's core framework for achieving financial independence. Protecting assets through proper legal structuring, including out-of-state LLCs and foundations, shields wealth from lawsuits and unnecessary taxes. Topics From IRS Agent to Advocate Worked for the IRS from 1988–1995 before launching her own CPA firm. Witnessed firsthand how small businesses were targeted while corporations often negotiated huge tax reductions. Left the IRS to empower middle-class earners with insider knowledge the wealthy use every day. Home-Based Businesses and Tax Deductions Employees are severely limited in tax deductions—no mileage, phone, or home internet write-offs. By launching a simple home-based business, individuals gain access to numerous write-offs. Sherry encourages clients to start a business they enjoy to unlock these tax benefits without burnout. Recordkeeping and Audit Preparedness Debit and credit card statements are NOT valid proof during audits—receipts are required. Recommends either scanning receipts into apps or making photocopies to preserve them. Supports clients during IRS audits and often helps them overturn excessive assessments. The KPG System: Keep, Protect, Grow Keep: Slash unnecessary expenses, eliminate debt, and live frugally while building income. Protect: Use legal structures (e.g., LLCs in Wyoming, NM) to shield assets and ensure anonymity. Grow: Reinvest profits into physical gold/silver and real estate—not depreciating assets like TVs or cars. Advanced Wealth Strategies Uses infinite banking policies to store wealth and acquire real estate tax-efficiently. Leverages the Augusta Rule—renting her home to her business for up to 14 days tax-free. Teaches the use of trusts and foundations to legally reduce taxes and protect generational wealth.

In this episode of The President's Daily Brief: First, President Donald Trump claimed Thursday that the U.S. and Iran are close to reaching a new nuclear deal, saying that the mullahs have “sort of” agreed to terms, after White House officials presented Tehran with a new proposal on Sunday. But Iran is denying the reports of a new proposal, and say there are still large gaps to bridge in the talks. Later in the show—President Trump said Thursday that Gaza should be turned into a U.S. administered “freedom zone,” as ceasefire talks in Qatar stall, and Israel expands operations in the battered enclave. Plus, we'll look at reports that the Iranian regime is aggressively expanding their foreign assassination and kidnapping operations, leveraging criminal gangs to carry out their dirty work. Allianz Ireland has leveraged Spotify to launch a new data-driven initiative that helps drivers take control of their mindset behind the wheel, simply by changing the beat. Studies show that music can have a direct influence on how we drive. Songs with a fast tempo (over 120 beats per minute) can subconsciously encourage drivers to speed up and change lanes much more often. In contrast, music that matches the average resting heart rate (around 60-80 BPM) is associated with calmer, more focused driving. The idea taps into growing public awareness: According to a nationally representative survey commissioned by Allianz Ireland in April 2025, over half of Irish adults believe that listening to music impacts how they drive. This belief is especially strong among younger adults (Gen Z), the group most likely to stream music while behind the wheel. Research shows increased heart rate variability, higher mental workload, and more erratic driving patterns in response to faster music, making them particularly suited to benefit from a more mindful music curation approach. That's why Allianz has turned to Spotify to launch 'Seat Belters', an in-app experience tool that creates a personalised playlist, based on the user's listening history, but with a lower beat per minute, for better driving. A Soundtrack Designed for the Drive, that you'll love Whether it's a school run or a road trip, music sets the tone. Allianz' and Spotify's new campaign on Spotify feature helps drivers tune into a more mindful, more aware pace that is just as enjoyable, for better driving. Each playlist is unique, leveraging Spotify's unique streaming intelligence, but filtered for music in a calmer tempo range (60-80 BPM). Mark Brennan, Chief Marketing Officer at Allianz Ireland, said: "This initiative is about promoting a better driving experience by influencing driver behaviour through music. The music we listen to can significantly affect our mood and actions, so why not harness this to encourage better driving habits? We're thrilled to work with Spotify on this groundbreaking international campaign, offering an experience tool that is not only practical and enjoyable but also personalised, with the potential to reduce road accidents." Seat Belters will be promoted to Spotify's free-tier users via in-app ads and shared on social media. To bring this science to life, Allianz has also launched Dashboard Drumming, a social video activation pairing legendary drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police) with science content creator Big Manny. In a parked car, they use nothing but a dashboard and a drumbeat to demonstrate how changing tempo affects mindset, mood, and ultimately driving behaviour, making BPM instantly relatable and shareable. It's a fun but powerful way to show how we respond to rhythm behind the wheel. Start Your Better Driving Soundtrack. To create your personalised playlist, visit: open.spotify.com/site/allianz

Nathan St Cyr is the co-founder of Howzit Hostels, a fast-growing hospitality brand based in the Hawaiian Islands. Within three years, Howzit Hostels earned the 2024 award for the number one small hostel in North America. With two current locations totaling approximately 140 beds, Nathan and his partner are on a mission to scale to 400 beds in Hawaii and 4,000 beds across North America—all while elevating the hostel experience into a modern, community-focused hospitality model. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Nathan originally trained in multifamily investing but pivoted to hostels after uncovering a major market gap in the U.S. hostel space. Howzit Hostels focuses on elevating the guest experience with boutique design, community engagement, and Instagram-worthy moments. The hostel model allows for multiple revenue levers through room configuration, occupancy flexibility, and curated guest experiences. Their approach targets the Gen Z traveler, who craves connection, shared spaces, and social currency through experiences. Success comes from understanding your avatar, hiring expert operators, and being fully committed to your vision. Topics From Multifamily to Hospitality Pivot Started with multifamily training, searching for apartment deals in Hawaii. First property search introduced the idea of hostels, which led to a deep dive into the business model. Discovered that hostels offered a more flexible, high-margin opportunity than traditional apartment investing in their market. What Is a Hostel Today? Challenges the outdated U.S. perception of hostels as cheap or dirty backpacker lodging. Focuses on community-based experiences with boutique design, common spaces, guided activities, and both shared and private rooms. Targets modern travelers who value shared experiences over isolation. Creating a Scalable, Passion-Driven Asset Hostels allow room configurations that multiply income potential—such as converting a single hotel room into a shared six-bed space. Hostel occupancy is measured per bed, allowing for higher flexibility and revenue optimization. Deep understanding of their target audience (Gen Z) shapes branding, amenities, and experiences. Mindset, Mentorship, and Execution Emphasizes hiring experts to validate business plans and fill skill gaps, including European hostel consultants and hospitality designers. Stresses the importance of passion, perseverance, and the willingness to go “all in” on your vision. Leverages lessons from a background in sales leadership, focusing on rejection as a temporary obstacle and belief as the driving force.

"No matter where you start your journey with us, we're here to support you," says Jeanne Duca, Chief Marketing Officer at BCN. In a rapidly evolving telecom landscape, BCN is embracing AI-driven marketing strategies to enhance engagement, streamline content creation, and reinforce its commitment to the channel. In this episode of Technology Reseller News, Jeanne Duca joins Doug Green to discuss BCN's AI-powered marketing approach, new digital content initiatives, and the company's latest advancements in connectivity solutions. BCN's AI-Powered Marketing Evolution With over 30 years in the industry, BCN has built a strong reputation as a managed technology solutions provider, catering primarily to mid-market and enterprise-level businesses. Selling exclusively through the channel, BCN has eliminated channel conflict, making marketing precision and messaging consistency a top priority. To address the need for rapid content creation and enhanced engagement, BCN has integrated AI into its marketing workflow. “The use of AI tools—whether for content creation or avatars for communication—is helping us develop more, better content faster,” says Duca. “This ensures that our technology advisors receive timely, relevant insights they can leverage with their customers.” New Digital Content Initiatives BCN has launched three new content series to better engage its partner community: Beyond the Network Podcast – A thought leadership series featuring technology advisors, TSD community members, and partners discussing industry trends and best practices. Top Shelf with BCN – A relaxed, conversational series discussing emerging technologies, with the debut episode focusing on low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite solutions in partnership with Tuufi Phi. These initiatives align with BCN's commitment to delivering high-value, digestible content that resonates with today's audiences. “People don't want to read as much anymore,” says Duca. “By leveraging AI for video creation, we can present our messages in a way that aligns with how people prefer to consume content.” AI as a Tool, Not a Replacement Duca emphasizes that AI is a productivity tool that enhances, but does not replace, human creativity and strategy. “AI is the engine, but human ingenuity is the driver,” she explains. “The brands that find the right balance between the two will stand out in the industry.” This mindset extends to internal communications as well. AI-driven content strategies have helped BCN enhance employee engagement, streamline training materials, and reinforce its core messaging across all stakeholders. “Our internal messaging needs to be just as clear and consistent as our external communications,” Duca notes. “The BCN experience is built on alignment between our employees, partners, and customers.” Advancing Connectivity and Security Looking ahead to 2025, BCN is redefining connectivity to meet the growing demands of AI-driven applications and digital transformation initiatives. “Connectivity has always been at the heart of our solutions, but today, customers want it to be unbreakable and secure,” says Duca. BCN's SD-WAN portfolio, which now includes Adaptive Networks alongside Cato, BigLeaf, Cisco Meraki, and Peplink, ensures customers have resilient, high-performance connectivity tailored to their needs. “With AI-powered applications driving unprecedented bandwidth requirements, customers need secure, redundant, and scalable solutions,” Duca adds. Meet BCN at Channel Partners 2025 BCN will be at Channel Partners 2025 in Las Vegas, where the company will host a networking reception and private meetings in its Palazzo suite. “We're looking forward to seeing our partners and welcoming new connections,” says Duca. “And yes,

HTC has launched Viverse platform that is aiming to become the YouTube of 3D Content. It's a platform that hosts 3D content and worlds built on PlayCanvas as well as many other open source technologies like WebXR, WebGPU, and VRM. It is sort of like a mix between VRChat with social worlds, 3D web crypto-based metaverse worlds, but also with some more enterprise embedding features as well. It's exciting to see this shift towards building out the open and interoperable metaverse, but in the context of this hybrid walled garden context that is built using open web technology stacks. It is also a hybrid in another way in that it is mostly consumer-facing but also has enterprise use cases like privately embedding of 3D content. I interviewed HTC's Andranik Aslanyan about the new VIVERSE platform, how they recruited over a hundred XR and WebXR developers to seed the content, and how VIVERSE fits into their overall strategy. I get some clarifications on the Android XR non-exclusive IP acquisition, and how VIVERSE fits into where HTC will be heading now that we're coming up on 10 years the HTC Vive was announced on March 1, 2014. Don't use mouthwash. Why? It's not Lindy. At least that's what Paul Skallas, a Chicago-born technology lawyer who goes by Lindyman online, says. I was fascinated to read a New York Times profile of him titled "The Lindy Way of Living," and knew I wanted to have him on 3 Books. In the 2012 book 'Antifragile,' the statistician and scholar Nassim Nicholas Taleb coined "the Lindy Effect." He wrote, "For the perishable, every additional day in life translates to a shorter additional life expectancy, kind of like me and you and the cheese and our fridge, or the milk and our fridge. But for the non-perishable, every additional day may imply a longer life expectancy." The Lindy Effect says that the longer something has been around, the longer it will stay around. Paul took this heuristic and with his unique and perceptive insights along with his deep reading of ancient history came to apply it to a broad range of things, including health. He doesn't use mouthwash, a relatively new invention that kills good *and* bad bacteria. But floss—poking stuff out of your teeth—has been around for thousands of years, so that can stay. This Lindy heuristic is a useful way to navigate our noisy modern world. As reality destabilizes with spiking AI and a fracturing media landscape we can learn and apply long-range lessons from the past to help us today. I love the unique, provocative, and often challenging 'The Lindy Newsletter,' which Lindyman publishes 2-3x weekly, to help us apply the framework to topics as diverse as urban planning, dating, medical trends, drinking trends, and even whether we should listen to health influencers. Lindyman gave me 3 very interesting and formative books. We talk about them along with the unintended consequences of the woke movement, why you should eat vegan once a week, how modern employment is destroying families, and much more. If you like to have your brain stretched like taffy and provoked by unusual thoughts this is the chapter for you. Let's flip the page to chapter 145 now.

The Trump administration secured more victories over the weekend, starting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio's trip to Panama. Rubio was able to ensure that Panama will leave the Chinese belt and road initiative. Belt and road is a massive infrastructure plan that would boost China's global influence within the participating countries. After Panama's exit, will other participating countries be inclined to leave the initiative? Trump announced a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico, and it didn't take long for Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum to concede. President Sheinbaum paused Mexico's retaliatory tariffs on the U.S. and pledged to send 10,000 troops to the border to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigration into the united States. It was a brilliant use of leverage and opened up an opportunity to make a deal. Now the question is what will Canada do? Is the EU next to be targeted by Trump tariffs? Greg McArthur's journey in manufacturing began as a child sweeping floors and cleaning mats in his father's machine shop. Over the years, he gained hands-on experience, evolving from a lathe hand to a skilled CNC machinist, estimator, and engineer. Eventually, Greg took a bold leap, bidding on a machine sight unseen on eBay and figuring out how to transport and operate it—foreshadowing his entrepreneurial spirit. In 2017, Greg founded NTL Industries in his garage while working a full-time job. By carefully building a financial foundation, he transitioned to renting a facility, leasing machines, and growing a team. Today, NTL Industries is a full-service CNC precision machining shop in Sterling Heights, MI, specializing in defense, aerospace, agriculture, and automation. The company has grown to 11 employees and is moving into a state-of-the-art, 13,000-square-foot facility that reflects its ambitious trajectory. This week, we are joined by, Amnon Kushnir from Sygnia, who is sharing their work on "China-Nexus Threat Group ‘Velvet Ant' Leverages a Zero-Day to Deploy Malware on Cisco Nexus Switches." In early 2024, Sygnia observed the ‘Velvet Ant' threat group exploiting a zero-day vulnerability (CVE-2024-20399) to infiltrate Cisco Switch appliances and operate undetected within enterprise networks. This attack enables threat actors to escape Cisco's command interface and install malware directly on the device's OS, bypassing standard security tools. The incident underscores the risks posed by third-party appliances and the importance of enhanced monitoring and threat detection to counter advanced persistent threats.
