User-generated content has been a large topic of conversion for the last year and is a topic that isn't leaving the digital marketing landscape anytime soon. Also known as UGC, it is unpolished content created by your customers rather than you, your team, or a professional photographer/videographer. A study I came across said that 90% of consumers say that UGC holds more influence over their buying decision than promotional emails and even search engines - that's huge and definitely worth considering with your e-commerce content! The episode User-Generated Content (UGC) 101 is a great introduction for anyone that is starting to explore UGC and wants to know how to adapt it to their online marketing strategy. In this episode I'm talking to Claire Devine who is the artist behind The New Devine, a family run business that creates art that celebrates the wild, joyful spirit of Australia. She was working as a school teacher when family illness meant she had to take a break from her job. This break allowed the family to reprioritise, focus on each other and give energy to Claire's painting. As that popularity for her work grew, The New Devine quickly evolved from a painting pastime into a serious, full-time business. In this episode we cover: Claire's journey from being a school teacher to becoming a full-time artist and business owner How she has developed such a strong relationship with her customers and community The ways she uses social media to convert her audience into sales How she decided it was time to outsource tasks in her business Check out The New Devine here Learn about mentoring and The Devine Intervention here Follow The New Devine on Instagram: @thenewdevine Thank you so much for listening. Today on the podcast I have social media strategist and the founder of Blossom Media, Chelsea Berman. At the time of recording this episode, Chelsea was only 21 years old and had already owned her social media business for a year, with her first staff member on the way. Feeling inspired by her massive achievements, I had to pick her brain. When we are young we feel like we need to tick all the boxes to pursue our dreams. We should study more, get more experience, be more mature. But in a world that thrives off entrepreneurship, and innovation, the gap is quickly closing for young people to be just as successful as older generations, in a very shorter time frame. Today Chelsea and I discuss how social media has become such a popular profession for millennials. Not only because they live and breath this technology, but they also bridge the gap for businesses and older generations who struggle to keep up with the constant updates in the social media space. Chelsea also discusses her journey with Uni compared to real life experience, her initial struggles in business and how important the evolution of growth is. You don't have to know it all day 1, what is important is passion and commitment and everything you need to know will come in time. Finally, we cover how to start a business in the social media space. What is actually required to have a career in this industry and what knowledge you need to get ahead. If you are young and considering having your own business, social media may be the perfect place for you to start. This episode is for anyone who is young, wants to do something big, but feel like they need to have it all figured out first. It is also for anyone who owns a business and wants to understand the power of the younger generation and the amazing insights they have in terms of technology and business. If you are interested in a career in social media too, this is the episode for you! In today's episode we discuss: How Chelsea got experience in the social media industry What struggles you face as a young business owner What a career in social media looks like Why the evolution is just as important as the goal And so much more!
