We explore how social media can transform your brand, where business leaders should begin with personal branding, the role of humanized content, what no longer works, and areas to pay attention.  Ashley shares actionable advice on content pillars, avoiding social media burnout, and which platforms can help business leaders in B2B establish thought leadership and increase brand visibility. Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction to the episode and Ashley Mason's background 02:33 - Ashley's journey into content marketing and social media 04:12 - Where business leaders should begin with personal branding: Focus on content pillars and goals 05:45 - How to pick the right social platforms based on audience demographics 06:31 - Tips for maintaining consistency on social media to avoid burnout 08:09 - Importance of mixing personal and professional content to build trust 10:21 - Avoiding burnout: Batch content creation and focus on inspired content 12:50 - Quick tips for upleveling your LinkedIn presence 14:14 - Optimizing LinkedIn profiles: Headline, bio, and career history 17:14 - Metrics that matter: Why likes are a vanity metric 19:12 - The importance of “lurkers” and long-term social media impact 20:45 - Avoiding outdated strategies: Creative ways to keep engagement high on LinkedIn 22:11 - Hashtags on LinkedIn and other platforms: Do they still matter 24:45 - B2B on TikTok: How to make it work for business leaders 28:23 - Building a content bank for TikTok and creating searchable content 29:52 - Twitter (X) for personal branding: Industry-specific use cases Key Takeaways: Start with Clear Content Pillars: Before diving into social media, identify your content pillars—what you want to be known for. This helps focus your strategy and ensures your message aligns with your goals and target audience. Consistency Over Frequency: Posting consistently, even just once a week, is more effective than trying to flood your audience with content. The goal is to establish a rhythm that your followers can depend on, which keeps you top of mind without burning out. Humanize Your Brand: Personal content that shows the human side of your leadership is key to building trust. Sharing achievements, challenges, and personal insights makes your audience relate to you and, in turn, more likely to engage with your brand. Metrics Beyond Likes: Focus on metrics that show deeper engagement, like comments, shares, and direct website traffic. These are more meaningful indicators of whether your content is resonating with your audience than likes alone. Summary/Abstract Daniel Priestly is the author of Scorecard Marketing, a book that goes hand in hand with his online assessment scorecard called the Key Person of Influence Scorecard. In the book, Daniel explains why he created the scorecard and how it can help people in their businesses. He also discusses the different aspects of marketing, including branding, customer acquisition, and more. In order to be successful in marketing, businesses need to understand and tap into the tension that their customers are experiencing. Tension exists between a customer's current reality, desired reality, and the amount of obstacles they face to get from current reality to desired reality. If a business can identify and talk about these elements in a way that mirrors what's going on in their customer's head, they will be more successful in making sales. The tension is the feeling of unease or anxiety that comes from needing a service but not knowing how to get it. In the case of a plumber, the tension is feeling like your toilet is going to break and not knowing how to fix it. This is where content comes in to help businesses. Content can help businesses by providing information that helps people understand their options and make decisions. The plumber who waits for somebody to search plumber in Toronto, that person could also go out and forge relationships with real estate agents that do lettings, and they could be a preferred supplier for a letting agency. This way, they are on the front foot and can proactively figure out what relationships would drive the business and go after those. The conversation discuss the similarities between why people like a story and why people like a business. Great businesses provide a path of least resistance that resolves tension and offers the customer what they need. In the early days of a business, it is good to tailor a solution to each customer in order to learn what the middle path looks like. Kaitlyn Pierce is a mompreneur who desired to leave her corporate marketing job and build a work-from-home business. In this episode, she shares how she replaced her income in 90 days and built her business as an expert in Instagram Reels and TikTok strategy.  Kaitlyn and Lindsay discuss- - Should we follow the trends, or do our own thing on social? - How to create 4 to 5 reels in an hour - How social media is NOT a marketing plan, it's just part of the plan. - TikTok is trend-setting: "Most Instagram trends are carryovers from TikTok" - Tip! Use a trending audio on a low volume while you share your content. This allows you to show up on trending audio feeds as well as the hashtag feed. - Custom audio's are now trending more than music (on TikTok) - How often should you be putting out content? "As often as YOU feel comfortable." TikTok is more about quality over quantity to be successful. The more quality content you can create, the better your odds of going viral. - How to create content if you aren't "entertaining." Meet Kaitlyn: My love for the internet and social media started well before Facebook came to rule the world. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time (more than I care to admit!) building websites and running blogs, back in the days of LiveJournal and Angelfire websites. From there my love of social networking grew and I evolved and adapted to all of the social platforms as they came about. I knew early on that these services would be huge for businesses and I landed my first gig as a Social Media Manager in 2010 with a branding and design agency. Since then I have shared my knowledge of social media and content marketing with many small business owners as well as worked for some larger brands such as What To Expect When You're Expecting. Tweetable Quotes“There's other ways to be able to help sleep better and we're gonna talk about that in just a moment. But, alas, first let us pose the question, ‘Why is sleep even important?' I mean sleep was so last year. It's really not important anymore. Well, I'm kidding. Of course it's really important. And there's so many health benefits on so many levels.” (05:30) (Dr. Brian) “Let's talk about two really good reasons that we need proper sleep. Number one is sleep keeps us mentally sharp. It's really important for our brain and also helps with memory. Number two, lack of sleep increases the risk, in adults, of heart attacks and strokes.” (07:05) (Dr. Brian) “Caffeine's in lots of things besides just coffee and tea; it's in chocolate, sodas, energy drinks. And it can keep you up. So, when people are particularly sensitive to caffeine then even caffeine at noon can have an effect at nighttime.” (09:46) (Dr. Brian) “Most people sleep either belly or on their side. And, the issue with sleeping on your belly is that it causes your head to turn, and it can increase neck and back pain. Certainly that can interfere with getting a good night's sleep.” (16:59) (Dr. Brian) “Snoring can also be associated with sleep apnea, which is where the breathing is effected to the point that there's reduced oxygen. And that can really interfere with sleep.” (18:21) (Dr. Brian) “Washing your sheets can help you sleep better. Yes, that's true and it's been studied. Plus, doesn't it just feel so good when you put on your PJs and you slip into that nice, freshly washed pair of sheets in your bed?” (20:20) (Dr. Brian) Resources MentionedDM Dr. Brian your questions and we will respond back with answers - https://v.cameo.com/F5MH0Hglnmb (https://v.cameo.com/F5MH0Hglnmb) https://www.boxerwachler.com/ (Dr. Brian's Website) https://www.tiktok.com/@brianboxerwachlermd?
