Both Rich and I feel that Erik is doing something special with the implementation of the bark fence. On this episode, he does a great job of describing how he uses it and what he expects the desired outcome to become. This is truly another tool to be added to your program as you seek to develop dogs that will engage with power and control. Erik Good is currently a handler and the head K-9 Trainer at the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department. He is certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a K-9 Team Instructor and K-9 Team Evaluator. Erik has been a K-9 handler for 15 years and has worked 3 single purpose patrol dogs along with a single purpose EOD dog. Erik is responsible for teaching new handler schools for both his agency and surrounding jurisdictions. Erik's duties include instructing training for over 15 dogs within his agency. He also puts on weekly multi-jurisdictional training for surrounding departments. Additionally, Erik has 9 years of experience as a SWAT K-9 handler/trainer and has worked to incorporate and develop new and innovative K-9 tactics previously non-existent to SWAT operations within the agency. Erik has been successful in implementing a format of training that emphasizes proper gripping behaviors coupled with dynamic releases. His methods prove that there's no need to diminish drives and gripping behavior in order to obtain a superior level of control in the dog. Erik is passionate about hard surface tracking due to the extreme urban environmental conditions in South Florida. We are pleased to have Hold The Line K9 Conference htlk9.com as a sponsor of the The Working Dog Depot Podcast. In this episode of Privacy Files, Rich and Sarah celebrate Data Privacy Week. Running January 22-28, 2023, this annual event, sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Alliance, is designed to raise awareness about online privacy. The mission is two-fold: help individuals understand that they have the power to manage their data and educate organizations on why it's important to respect their users' data. We kicked off the episode by covering the recent T-Mobile data breach where a hacker compromised the data of 37 million customers. This is the eighth time T-Mobile has been hacked since 2018. Data Privacy Week commemorates the January 28, 1981 signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. Last year, the National Cybersecurity Alliance extended Data Privacy Day into Data Privacy Week. We cover how every online activity leaves a data trail linking back to you and your personally identifiable information. Then we give you a series of simple solutions to better protect your data. Both Rich and Sarah tell some personal stories that underscore the prevalence of data collection in our everyday lives. Then we wrap up the episode by talking about how MySudo, the world's only all-in-one privacy app, can help individuals live more privately, and how organizations can leverage privacy to acquire more customers and make them loyal. Both Rich and I are in the process of moving; Rich from his Florida manse to the green hills of North Carolina, and I…. to who knows where, or when? But it'll be soon. I have lived in my house for 24 years, and the amount of accumulation is mind boggling, and paralyzing. Since the death of my wife, Chemayne, two years ago, I've been unable to face the tremendous lift it's going to take to purge a lifetime of stuff. But, it must be done, and I'm gritting my teeth. And, Rich, following the death of his mom, June, is smack dab in the middle of his own major life shift, which is exacting a toll on his spine and spirit. As is my usual response to the challenges of living, such reflections often result in the writing of a song - in this case, an ode of sympathetic solidarity, which I offer in tribute to my friend.
Autumn is in the air in Las Vegas - meaning it's down to the mid 80s during the day! Fall food events are springing up all over, to mix our seasons. Al enjoyed the seasonal pop-up Fall at the Terrace at Green Valley Ranch. Both Rich and Gemini enjoyed the monthly serving of Jackson's Chicken at Ada's Wine Bar. Al tried, but failed, to get to the Grand Reopening of Hard Hat Lounge under new owner and Detroit style pizza guy Robby Cunningham. The concept is not new. Arguably, it's as old as money itself. But it seems this advice can only ever be given by someone a bit older to someone who's a bit younger. But not always. They key is in the term 'Relatively Speaking'. Both Rich and Slow are relative to you. Nobody else. The problem comes when we measure both by somebody else's definition. #getrich #wealth #happiness
On today’s show, this is going to be an epic master class with two of the most brilliant minds we know, Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren. Jay and Rich go way back, having known each other for close to twenty years. In today’s economy, this will be the most valuable information that any business owner can take and actually use, to make money and turn things. Both Rich and Jay give their insights around a host of opportunities in today’s world to help people and businesses leverage their existing assets in such a way that will benefit them and you as the deal maker. There are also some great examples of folks who knew where to look and find opportunities that others were missing and basically created arbitrage situations that led to passive income for years to come. We know your mind will be reeling with possibilities after listening, and when you are done you will want to listen to our previous episodes where we chatted with Dana Robinson and Markian Sich on how they are able to create passive income as well with real estate investing and online businesses. “This is the time where there is so much opportunity, and the reason is there is so much opportunity is because during times of tremendous uncertainty as well as some form of recession, what happens is there are many businesses who are a lot less active than before, and that leaves a lot of their assets dormant...which makes them a lot more receptive to other ideas and possibilities. ” - Rich Schefren “Right now there are 5 or 6 windows of screaming opportunities that are starting to close..first one if there will never be a time in the history of entrepreneurship where more business owners and professionals are open to doing deals, collaborating, joint venturing, profit partnering, letting you sell things to their audience....that’s one thing. ” - Jay Abraham Some Topics We Discussed Include: How to think like Tom Sawyer How to see and seize opportunities to be the toll booth/money taker Putting the Pareto principle and Venn diagrams into play Examples of ways to help businesses right now which will benefit you for years to come (even if you do not have any capital to start with) The real reason Jay stopped selling his courses Examples of prosperity pathways and how to identify where opportunities exist And much, much more! A little about our guests. Both Rich and Michelle were born in South Dakota. Rich then grew up in Texas and Arizona while Michelle spent many cold winters growing up in South Dakota. Rich and Michelle have been together for 26 years, married for 23 and they have a teenage son. They are both outdoors people and they have a competitive spirit. They push themselves to always be better. Rich and Michelle are friendly, helpful people that just enjoy each other and those around them. A little about their business. Purple Pepper is a graphic design company and a jewelry company. Both Rich and Michelle had careers that gave them the confidence and experience to go into business for themselves. Michelle started the company as a graphic designer. Rich joined her company several years later and created an apparel division. They got an idea from Michelle’s aunt who made silverware jewelry out of a family heirloom. You can find them on Sundays at the Ahwatukee Farmer’s Market and on Facebook at Polished Pepper. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) Look to your partner to figure out what they are bringing to the table. Know what you bring to the business as well. If your partner doesn’t bring what the business needs, going into business together may not be right for you.
