Welcome to this special episode of our podcast, featuring the legendary Jay Abraham - often dubbed as the $21.7 billion man and the highest paid marketing consultant. Today, we're revisiting an insightful episode from April 2020, a time of global uncertainty and panic due to the emergence of the pandemic. With shutdowns and business restrictions starting worldwide, we all felt lost and overwhelmed. I took the liberty to revamp this episode, removing outdated parts and enhancing the content to match our current reality. As I re-listened, I found myself fervently taking notes, impressed by Jay's expertise in strategic and nonlinear thinking, alliances, partnerships, and his aptitude to identify opportunities amidst adversity. The second notable highlight I wanted to share is Jay's recent collaboration with the renowned Roland Frasier, a podcast favorite, seasoned investor, and business strategist boasting over 1000 acquisitions. Together, they've penned 'Business Wealth Without Risk', with the foreword by none other than Tony Robbins. Very timely (like in 2020), they have a free live event on September 23rd called "Business Wealth Without Risk". If you're quick, you might grab a spot, but if not, you'll definitely want first dibs on their book. Get signed up for free and all the details by clicking here. Prepare for an episode packed with unconventional wisdom. Equip yourself with strategies to navigate the present unpredictable business landscape, from emerging technologies to the uncertain economy. Dive in, enjoy, and join the conversation! “If you have not just critical thinking, but consequential thinking and you understand probability and outcomes, then it's not as daunting as you think. There's only a finite number of scenarios that will probably happen” - Jay Abraham And make sure to check out the other episode with Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren, as well as the latest episode with Roland Fraiser. Navigating Economic Adversity: Abraham draws on his experience in navigating economic adversity and advises taking action and capitalizing on different scenarios. He highlights the importance of referral generation, strategic alliances, and being an advocate for customers. He emphasizes understanding the motivations of the other party in a deal and starting with smaller companies before approaching larger ones. Adding Value and Preserving Cash: Abraham emphasizes the importance of adding value to customers and helping them preserve or expand their cash or positioning. He suggests structuring deals with deferred payment options and catering to a wider range of potential customers. What do you do when you are running a business that doesn't align with your long term goals? You get clear on what you want then design one that does align. In this episode Casey Zeman, founder of EasyWebinar, shares his journey from hustle to building an aligned business. Casey and his wife made the decision that growing a family was their priority, which didn't fit with the schedule he was keeping as an entrepreneur. Casey set out to create a new solution that made in impact globally so he could reprioritize to make an impact at home with his three children.
If you've hosted a webinar or live event that fell flat, then this episode is for you. Casey Zeman is the CEO and founder of EasyWebinar, a live-stream platform and marketing automation tool. As a former actor and mortgage broker, Zeman was fed up with having little control over his success. So with the encouragement of a friend, he became a video marketing consultant focusing on YouTube. His work as a consultant tapped into the capability of live videos and webinars as a sales tool. So, in 2015 he reinvested his earnings as a consultant to develop a plugin called EasyWebinar, which allowed people to create a live webinar through their website. In 2018, he changed EasyWebinar's model to a SaaS business, offering full services to any online business looking to engage and convert its audience. Listen to Nathan and Casey discuss: How the 2008 recession spurred his career in digital marketing Becoming a video marketing consultant before it was a thing Investing his consulting earnings into developing EasyWebinar Changing his business model from a plugin to SaaS The fundamentals of a high-converting webinar The differences between automated and live webinars Webinar funnels and how they can generate qualified leads Using webinars as a customer retention tool Why feeling like an idiot is the most common webinar mistake And much more webinar and live event advice… This episode was powered by EasyWebinar. Today's solo episode is the second in a two-part series about the lessons I've learned as a course creator. I launched The Healthcasters course back in 2015, and it recently passed the $300K revenue mark. Those results are far more than I could have ever imagined, and as I've reflected, I realize that I have learned a lot through this journey. I hope some of my lessons learned will be helpful for you! Join me for today's session where I'll cover #6-10 of my top ten lessons learned. Lessons learned as a course creator (#6-10) Social media marketing can be intimidating. Focusing on webinars makes more sense in many ways. Webinars magnify your strengths as a teacher. Webinars make it easy for viewers to sign up for your course. Webinars can be evergreen, and you can sprinkle in live ones whenever you want. (EasyWebinar makes the process simple. Check it out athttp://www.sellingthecouch.com/easywebinar ( www.sellingthecouch.com/easywebinar).) In webinars, focus on sharing your story, your WHY, and your expertise. “Low prices attract tire-kickers.” A higher price will make you want to over-deliver to your students. A higher price limits impulse buyers and attracts more of the students you want. Charging a higher price allows you to reinvest more money into better quality gear for the future. Don't compete on price. Offering discounts and lower prices will affect the quality of your students. Consider offering time-limited bonuses, like a group coaching call, video series, etc., rather than offering discounts. Have an easy way to gather testimonials. (Check out testimonial.to athttp://www.sellingthecouch.com/testimonial ( www.sellingthecouch.com/testimonial).) Students can choose a video or text testimonial about their experience. Separate your course success from your self-worth. Your course isn't who you are, but it's just one thing you do. Don't compare your course success to someone else's. “Comparison is poison.” You can check out all of my 10 Lessons Learned (with video!) in myhttps://twitter.com/mvarghese5/status/1513503190410481669 ( Twitter) thread! What a great conversation with Mark Lack from ShortenTheGap.com, who is such a baller! We first connected with Mark in the Steal Our Winners program, which is awesome and highly recommended. He's been talking about the model which we are very interested in, and we love the fact that he broke down the tactics of what we have been discussing in our business lately. We talk a lot about YouTube and if you are seeing a lot of people talking about getting yourself on YouTube, it's still not too late. Facebook is being more restrictive than ever whereas on the Google/YouTube platforms, we feel they are giving us more opportunities to build out your brand and your flywheel. We love the way that Mark thinks, as he's a branding guy. He talks about how he was studying the legends at a young age, while he was becoming one of the world's most well-known paintballers. He then discusses why you need to use marketing for not only your audience, but throwing your marketing budget and time at the guests and brands you want to connect with. And if you are just starting out and don't have any episodes to show to sponsors, he'll let you know what to do there as well. When you're done listening, be sure to check out our other shows with Lisa Buyer and Justin Schenck for some additional chats on how to connect with the right folks while building your brand. “Celebrities only care about timing and attention…if the timing is right, and you guarantee enough attention and eyeballs, any celebrity will say yes.” - Mark Lack Some Topics We Discussed Include: Being a loser in school while earning $300K as a professional paintball star How to get more of what you want by helping people get what they want Getting a massive discount when posting videos to Facebook or Instagram How to pre-guarantee results to the celebrity and sponsor One of the fastest ways to build a really big show How to become more memorable and famous for free What to do if you do not have a backlog of episodes to showcase to sponsors The most important thing you want to do during the first 5 seconds of your video How to connect with event sponsors without even attending Resources From Mark Lack: ShortenTheGap.com BusinessRockstars.com References and Links Mentioned: Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! Joe is back with another snackable episode today, and he's talking about what we have learned from some very smart folks in the business marketing community. This is how online education is being launched these days, leveraging 3.0 web technology. If you are not aware of what that is, Joe will be explaining a bit of what that is today and why you should be paying attention. He's going to talk about how things are changing in terms of product launches and community launches and why you should be aware of this, because it's coming fast. It's a crazy world but it's definitely something you should be aware of as a business owner. He also discusses some recent examples of folks who have launched new communities, the technology behind it and some examples of cool access perks that anyone can offer or get by being involved. We're changing a lot of things up over here at Hustle & Flowchart. We're in the middle of a rebuilding phase, completely overhauling almost everything in our business. In this quick episode, Matt breaks down one of the big topics we're going to start to put a ton of focus on. Today we're talking about Web 3 and decentralization. It's something that we can avoid anymore. We talked about it with Michael Taggart back in 2017 and we circled back around with Joel Comm in 2021. The first time, our brains weren't ready for it. We didn't know what to do with the information other than just throw some money at some cryptocurrencies. Now, it's finally clicking and we can't avoid talking about it. The pandemic has accelerated the Web 3 journey to mainstream and it's only a matter of months before it becomes the normal way that people do things. This changes everything and those that are still ignoring it or writing it off will really regret that decision in the near future. “Web 3 will be where almost all future financial opportunities will lie” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: Where we're taking this podcast in the future “You can plug your ears and maybe the future will go away” What is Web 3? Joe is on board today with an important, snackable episode. He's talking about real, heartfelt stuff, since, as entrepreneurs, digital marketers and those of us who work behind the screen deal with life a little differently than folks who work a traditional job. We have different social aspects that come our way and the last two years have had us in all our bubbles. Joe tells a story from his side of things, and how it's affected him and what he's learned over the last two years. He discusses why the last two years have been the most pivotal for both him and our business, in terms of clarity and finding out who we are. We have chatted on the podcast a lot about mental health and this subject is more important than ever. If you find this information helpful, please pass it along, as our goal is to bring this discussion to light and help as many people as possible. Once you are done, be sure to listen to our chats with Anthony Trucks and Angelo Sisco who share their stories of overcoming obstacles and how to put yourself in the right frame of mind. “We're living in a world where we are ultra connected, but at the same time we are not really totally connected empathically, where it actually matters and you feel it.” - Joe Fier Some Topics We Discussed Include: What should've been one of the happiest times was also one of the saddest Overview of the last two years and why they have been the hardest Things that have helped Joe ‘get his voice back' The pivotal moment that changed everything Self-improvement strategies that seem simple, but really work Dealing with overwhelm and how to break out of that bubble Our Resources Want to learn how to growth hack a podcast and watch over our shoulders (and give you all the templates and DFY swipe files)? Shaa talks to Casey Zeman, Founder of Easy Webinar who has truly embraced the power of webinars, using technology and software to better connect with audiences around the world. In doing so, he has helped others to achieve a similarly deep connection with their own audiences. Casey discusses the importance of social change, how choosing to do better is a choice. And ways in which we can affect social change and use entrepreneurship for the benefit of all, and why we can more easily create a greater impact when we increase our income. KEY TAKEAWAYS To create social mobility, then we must facilitate and empower others to create businesses and create their own income. When we create an income for ourselves, we raise the level of impact that we can make. From there it is about choice - where to invest time, money and experience in order to help others grow. When we assimilate with others, we cannot expect them to simply assume our ways of thinking and living. Cultural exchange is about the free-flow of influences and ideas. We should never shut ourselves off when it comes to growth. We have the opportunities to learn and develop each day, and should always take advantage of that. With growth comes strength. BEST MOMENTS 'It's much harder to create an impact when you have no income' 'By pulling people in, we're going to have a longer term impact' ‘being good is a choice you make every single day' VALUABLE RESOURCES Building A Bigger Table Podcast - https://omny.fm/shows/building-a-bigger-table MEET YOUR HOST Hi, I'm Shaa. You are going to love our chat today with Ty Cohen, a longtime entrepreneur, who is now taking over the world of online publishing. There's a lot of money to be made with Amazon Publishing, and whether you are a writer or not, Ty teaches people how to get your books published in the world's biggest online bookstore. His students consist of writers who want to get their content out to the masses, authority figures who publish in order to get leads for their courses and high ticket offers, as well as people who use ghostwriters to publish a series of books with a huge audience behind them. Listen in as Ty talks about what niches to publish in, how to find out what your audience is reading before you pick a subject, and how he teaches his students to market. He also discusses where to advertise, how to repurpose your content and where to find people to write for you as well as create audio books. Lastly, Ty chats about some opportunities he has outside of the publishing world and his thoughts on NFTs and leaving a legacy. After you have listened and realized the opportunity behind publishing, check out our chats with Laura Gale and Rob Kosberg for even more insight and vision into the world of self-publishing. “In internet marketing we always hear that you want to go with the niches, which is fine sometimes. But when you want to make a lot of money…when you want to be to the point where you are continuously making cash where it's hard to shut it off, you want to go where the markets are wide and evergreen.” - Ty Cohen Some Topics We Discussed Include: What niches to look at when publishing Example of categories where Ty's students are crushing it, including Ty's teenage son who is make $4K a month publishing in one particular category The easiest way to get someone to buy from you Writing a book vs. hiring a ghostwriter Creating a journey for your reader where they will want to buy from you over and over again The one important approach that most non-fiction authors are missing The 3 must have criteria when you are doing your market research How to repurpose the book you've already made and where to hire people to make it an easy process Resources From Ty Cohen: KCFLive.com KindleCashFlow.com References and Links Mentioned: Upwork Guru Fiverr Rev.com Otter.ai Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! We're back with another Therapy Session! In this episode, we consider renaming our show (just kidding!) and dive into some of our takeaways from attending the Traffic & Conversion Summit. It was a great event and there was a LOT going on. We chat about how we set up our booth, some things we learned about the ins and outs of renting a booth, how we changed our tactics as the event went on and some of the amazing people we chatted with while we were there. There were some things we did purposely to make sure our booth was not only one of the most inviting and interesting ones there, but attracted great conversations with attendees and sponsors alike. We also dive into several a-ha moments we got while attending the event and why we have changed our goal for the future. If the idea of making amazing connections to further your business growth excites you, check out our conversations with Justin Schenck and Gary Henderson for more insight into growing your network and connecting with influential people. “We put ourselves right in the middle of the zone to be seen, and then the connectors show up, our friends show up, and subscribers and listeners show up.” - Joe Fier “On the expo floor, we had our own little hangout where people were just floating to us and chatting with us the whole time.” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: Great advice from Dan, who gets another shoutout - Hi Dan! Matt's big success that even Joe didn't know about until just now How we made our booth the most interesting on the floor How we are to become major connectors in our space Some things we learned about running a booth, that we never knew before All the lightbulb and a-ha moments that went off, just from this one event Going from America to Norway and back! We have been searching for someone to speak with about crypto and NFT's for a while, and it's nice to circle back around to this subject with Joel Comm. He's one of the original internet marketers, and he's a guy who sees trends and has a pretty good hit rate. This is one of those rabbit holes that we've gotten into outside of the podcast, and now is a great time to be aware of all the tech and utilities that are associated with a lot of these things. There are so many different ways to use the blockchain technology, and we'd love it if you would let us know if this is something you'd like us to talk about more in future episodes. Nothing in this episode is financial advice by the way, but it's valuable to have conversations about it. Joel has been online for years, and he pivots fast and launches on a technology where he can have fun. You will get some great ideas on how Joel approaches tech. The way he explains his pivots is similar to the way we've done things as well, as we find little things we are interested in, then we explore it and love to share what we have learned with others. He also dives into the future of NFT's, so many different ways to use blockchain technology and some of his favorite alt coins. Once you have listened, check out our chats with Mike Koenigs and Archit Batlaw for more insights into what the future holds for technology and business. “I don't think there's any true visionary aspect to it, it's just that way I'm wired, I tend to pay attention to what's happening and dabble.” - Joel Comm Some Topics We Discussed Include: The secret sauce behind Joel's successful life The best kept secret in the NFT world Red flags to look out for in the crypto world A new internet network and how you can be a part of it How to find alt coins to invest in So many other options with NFT's other than artwork Resources From Joel Comm: The Next Internet Millionaire Bad Crypto Podcast The Fun Formula Badco.in/discord BCHeroes.com References and Links Mentioned: CoinGecko.com DustMiners.com Wax Uniswap Coinbase Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! Matt is dropping another solo episode today, and he is going to be talking about some cool conference hacks that will help you with outreach and making connections. Live events are happening again and we just returned from the Traffic & Conversion Summit. He will be sharing some things that we learned over time about how to be the most effective at these conferences and how to get the most out of them. He shares a few hacks about how to connect with people and build our influence around the booth. Whether it be with the speakers, attendees, or exhibitors, we really like to network with as many people as possible and do it in a way where you really build a deep connection. Once you're done, check out chats with Steve Sims that we mentioned and Michael Trainer as well for more insights into making awesome connections to propel your business. “You'll get their email and once again, you have just opened the door. You've just kicked in that reciprocation principle, you've just given them a reason to reciprocate and you've just given them a reason to remember you as well.” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: Connecting with everyone at the event, and not just attendees Why we, as a sponsor, love connecting with other sponsors! It was a true pleasure and honor to have Dr. Robert Cialdini on the show today, author of one of the most well-known books that many of our guests have referenced. When we got into marketing and entrepreneurship, one of the first books we read was his Influence, which explained the principles of how to execute what we put out into the world. Now with this updated, expanded version, it has been blowing our minds in terms of how practical it is, especially with a brand new principle added. Dr. Cialdini showed us how to get the ethical ‘yes' and use these persuasion tactics in a very ethical way. He also discusses the ethical use of scarcity, with limitations on the number of the product, as well as countdown timers. He also talks about how he did not write his famous book for marketers, he wrote it as a book to learn how to avoid being influenced by others. Some other topics we chat about include the Unity Principle and understanding how you look at things differently when you identify with others in the same group. We also talked about the trust factor, and when you take the power away from the buyer by sharing the bad stuff first to create trust and a bond. We have shared our struggles with our guests and on our Therapy Sessions, and we have found this to be very powerful. Lastly, we had an opportunity to ask some questions from our audience, so listen in if yours was included. After you've delved into this episode be sure to check out our show that we mentioned about branding as well as our chat with Neil Patel who also knows a thing or two about growing your brand in an ethical way. “People who are successful have recognized how these principles work at some level. What they often don't recognize is how to optimize them, and the steps to take that not only activate the principle but maximize its impact in a situation.” - Dr. Robert Cialdini Some Topics We Discussed Include: The universal things taught to businesses in order to be successful Why Dr. Cialdini's book was not meant to be the bible for internet marketers If you have this one particular kind of authority, no one can beat you as a communicator An interesting study about showing your expertise The magic of sharing your weaknesses How to use this one word to get someone to trust you from the very first meeting How to implement scarcity in situations where there really is none What to tell people if you are early in the game Resources From Dr. Robert Cialdini: Influence by Dr. Robert Cialdini InfluenceAtWork.com References and Links Mentioned: Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! Mandy McEwen from ModGirlMarketing.com, brought the goods today as this episode has a boatload of tactics on how to connect and showcase your brand on LinkedIn. BJ Fogg, PhD, author of Tiny Habits and TinyHabits.com is on the show today! We have been immersed lately in understanding changes and our own habits, which have led to some self-sabotage at times. BJ talks about the concept of breaking the chain and how it can be detrimental to your progress. If your habit is too big, it can be hard to build up the momentum to continue. Plus, celebrating micro wins can be a huge motivator and they can come with every action that you do. BJ talked about his mission in spreading that ripple effect that will pass on to others, similar to how we love having fun while recording. He also gave us some real-life examples of creating tiny habits that stuck, such as how he was able to shed weight easily and how he starts his day in the right way to set his mind up for success. This episode is going to be a great extension of what we have been chatting about in the last few weeks. Also, since we've been talking a lot about branding, we are back to branding these episodes as a Therapy Session once again. There's been some great opportunities that we have been discussing for a while, specifically in the creator economy. We now see our company as a media company rather than just a podcast. We also know there are those listeners who are not necessarily trying to create a media brand, so we wanted to speak to that audience. If you know that the creator economy is getting bigger, there's never been a better time to figure out how to sell the shovels to that industry without having to be an influencer. We talk about the opportunities that we see in the creator economy and some cool stats that compare it to the gig economy. We also drop some insight into how you, as an entrepreneur can use this opportunity. Once you become aware of where the money and attention is flowing, you can position yourself and ride that wave with the creators. It's a smart approach and we'll talk about some ways where it's not you building the media company, but you can be the specialist to provide your services to those on the rise, even positioning yourself for rev deals and partnership. Once you listened, be sure to check out our chats with Gary Henderson and Travis Chappell for tips on how to make connections and network with influencers on a level playing field. “Position yourself properly and strategically - anyone can do that now with the creator/influencer economy.” - Joe Fier “The fact that each one of these things has so many subtasks, is a huge opportunity for digital marketers who want to go and specialize in one of those. Just look at YouTube, and look at one of the tasks you've got to do for YouTube. There's a business there that you can go and replicate for people over and over again.” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: Examples of opportunities that never existed before, which you can specialize in and build a business around Some interesting stats on where the creator economy is headed A look behind the scenes of how we are building our media company Generalists vs. specialists in the agency world, and how the pandemic has switched things up Ideas on how to leverage the creator economy Steal one of our business ideas and run with it! On today's show, we are chatting with Brian Bogert, of BrianBogert.com, who has a wealth of perspectives, and we'll definitely do a round two, as he opened up so many loops for us. He's got so many crazy experiences that have happened and shaped who he is. We talk about podcasting and some things that we didn't even know which we know you will find helpful. Brian also chatted about his perspective in regards to mindset vs. tactics, and our survey that we put out last year, which we now know is not that cut and dry, and actually has a few layers to those results. He's got such great insights into triggers, and how to embrace the pain to avoid suffering, and gave us some real-life examples. The beauty of this conversation is showing how we can be blind to some things until they show up. We did talk a little about imposter syndrome and how we get it sometimes around tangents on the show if we don't think we can add to the conversation. Did you know that our guest today is the reason behind Russell Brunson's success? Today, we have Armand Morin on the show, and it was so cool to go down a page in history, as he talked about the early days of internet marketing way back in 1996. He tells the story of how he made over one million dollars selling bookmarks in the days before payment processors. Also, his email strategy and MAE framework were interesting to us, as well as how he doesn't believe in funnels. He has flipped the idea of the funnel into more of a pipeline and gave us a dissertation on how to do email with this approach. We also chat about his email sequence based on webinars, which was another massive topic. This show was much more tactical than we thought, as Armand covered email strategies, webinar strategies, and even how to become a country music star. He's also a national champion with Tai Kwon Do, and follows that whole “Success Leaves Traces” philosophy, which you can learn about in his book of the same name. After you've listened, you might enjoy our episodes with Dale Beaumont and David Jenyns for more tips on creating systems to save time and work smarter. Lastly, if you are heading to Traffic & Conversions Summit, be sure to stop by our booth in the expo area and come say hello! There will be challenges, fun, and prizes! If you want to come network and hang out with us, we are going to be throwing a huge party at Mission Brewery in San Diego on Tuesday evening. There will be sponsors (if you want to sponsor, hit us up!) and we promise this will be a super fun party that you do not want to miss. “At 3 hours into my whole internet career, I find this website that says ‘If you give me $20, I will put a link on my site that will link to your site and because I'm advertising so much, you're going to get a lot of traffic to your site' and I thought, Oh man, that's brilliant!” - Armand Morin Some Topics We Discussed Include: How to hack your way into becoming a huge country music star Avoiding a painful, first business lesson The early days of selling links and having to print out paper checks! How Armand created the world's original search engine What happens when you get your merchant account shut down when you are on track to make over $150,000,000 in a year Why you want to think of selling through a pipeline, not a marketing funnel The early days of the Warrior Forum - who knew?! This episode has been a long time coming, as we have been thinking about some of this stuff since 2013. Many of our listeners have told us how much they miss our Therapy Sessions where we talk about what we are doing in the business and our struggles and wins, and this show will include a lot of those insights. We chat about where we see a lot of our marketing efforts headed, how the marketing landscape is changing for all of us, and some of the things we will be doing differently. We also discuss some of the ways that we are finally fulfilling our goals from years back and how we are going all in. Also, if you are heading to the Traffic & Conversions Summit, be sure to stop by our booth in the expo area and come say hello! Make sure you are subscribed to our YouTube channel, as there will be challenges, fun, and prizes (cha-ching!) We have Anthony Trucks joining us again for round two, and we had an absolute ball. Anthony has a new book coming out, Identity Shift, which we discuss in-depth on today's episode. This was an impactful and timely episode, and one of the things we talked about was how there are people who want variety in life, and then there are people who want stability. For example, even in our own business, our new studio is the mechanism for wanting to change things up, as things were getting a little monotonous. Another analogy that Anthony discussed was the ball analogy, where the ball that you kicked far away is your goal and when it's too far, the doubt comes in. So when it comes to goal setting, if you build too grand of a vision, you can get into mental trouble because that ball needs to be a little closer. He talks about people who constantly consume and don't take any action, so the more you consume, the heavier that ball becomes. Also, he talks about how one of the goals of his book is to clarify how to close the identity gap so you can upgrade your life to the next level. There's a lot of good stuff in this one, and after you have listened, we have some great shows from our vault you should check out, including our previous show with Anthony and our chat with Nir Eyal that deals with mindset, becoming more products, and getting valuable feedback to make better business decisions. “At the end of the day, your identity has to match your dream or it will never be realized. A lot of people have dreams that are far beyond their current identity...the cool thing is as you shift into it, you simultaneously transform as a human, but you also achieve that thing.” - Anthony Trucks Some Topics We Discussed Include: How our chairs are a metaphor for our business What makes you a skilled speaker What your ideal identity is comprised of and the identity gap Are you suffering from the epidemic of shelf esteem? The dinnertime conversation you can have with your kids to cement a positive relationship with them The difference between parenting your kids and coaching them (plus how to get your kids to clean their room!) We're back, coming at you from the world-famous Hustle & Flowchart Studios! Today we are talking about branding, our thoughts and our experience with it and what we are learning about branding lately including the psychology behind it. It's been a big focus lately in that we are trying to get ourselves dialed in on our brand, uplevel the video quality, and revamping our website design. There's some specific reasons why we feel now is the time to be branding and we dive into this on today's episode. We will be covering some low hanging fruit ways to brand that you probably haven't thought about. There's also a few cool videos that we will reference and one of more interesting ways that one major influencer is building his brand plus the surprising reasons behind it. We have also updated some of our studio equipment and will dive into what some of our favorite brands are and why. In addition to all of this, we chat about the bigger picture behind your brand, making an impact on society, and leaving a legacy. After you've listened, be sure to check out the past shows we've done with Ryan Lee and Ryan Berman to give you some additional ideas on branding and building your tribe. “It's important to make sure you have the brand understood before you do any dramatic things to the perception of your brand. Ask yourself how are people identifying and attaching to you right now and what's the reason they are choosing you over another podcast?” - Joe Fier “The way we see it is, the bigger the brand that we can build, the more attention that we can create on us, and then we can essentially sell that attention.” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: What the leading YouTube influencers are doing outside the normal realm of promotion Our top three favorite brands that have helped outfit our new studio Some new platforms we might be testing out with our branding Thanks again Ryan for the burrito hookup! Joe Sanok joins us again for a second show, with another fun conversation about chilling out, getting your mind in order, and having systems that have been a theme lately around the Hustle & Flowchart brand. A lot of conversations we have had recently are in tune with what we want to do with our brand, which translates into a smart and productive way to work. It is less about tactics and business strategies as what's really important is figuring out what we want to do and having the business facilitate that. On today's show, we chat about how Joe was able to take more time off as we have done, spend more time on the important things in his business, outsource the things that are not as important, and basically slow time to get more clarity. He also tells us a great analogy with his tale of his encounter with a rhino, what to expect if you are doing a book deal with a major publisher and how hie Slow Down School has helped many entrepreneurs to do just that, while also moving their own business ideas ahead quickly. If the idea of traveling the country while working your business part-time appeals to you, be sure to check out our previous show with Joe as well as the chat we held with Justin Brooke. “Research shows that when you slow down you have better clarity on what you need to spend your time on. So if you are taking a Wednesday off and the weekend off and you are generally setting boundaries and letting your brain be optimized, then when you get to the week, you can kill it.” - Joe Sanok Some Topics We Discussed Include: The magical mindfulness of young minds Roadtripping across America, while road schooling kids and podcasting about the adventure The benefits of having two Fridays a week Scheduling in fun first Discovering your sprint personality to fine-tune your workflow Staying at an Airbnb for the weekend to get more work done How we slow down in a way that matches what our brain needs What to do when you see a rhino charging right at you The science behind vigilant detriment One simple thing you can do to refresh your brain, pay attention better, and work more efficiently The trick to getting to 100 pushups a day What to expect when you publish a book with a big name publishing house Resources From Joe Sanok: The Practice of the Practice on Instagram Joe Sanok on LinkedIn Podcast Launch School Thursday is the New Friday - by Joe Sanok Practice of the Practice Leave to Find podcast JoeSanok.com References and Links Mentioned: The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks Sam Harris' Wake Up Meditation Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! We're back with another Tuesday episode, where it's just the two of us, deep-diving into a few topics that we have found interesting lately, talking about what's going on in our business, and sharing stuff that we have tried out, love, and want to share with you! Today, we are chatting about a book that we both read and really enjoyed - The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. We definitely had some a-ha moments after going through the book, which entails discussions surrounding the plight of Americans' inability to set money aside for emergencies, why looking into historical data is not always the best option for determining the future, and why we think it's important to avoid the dreaded lifestyle creep in order to set yourself up for wealth. We also talk about Matt's Amazon wish list (wait until you hear what he got for Christmas!), our takes on investing (this is definitely NOT financial advice), and our thoughts about cool cars, crypto, and being on top of buying the latest gadgets. If you enjoyed this show and want to learn more about how to make your dollar go further while getting into the correct money mindset, be sure to check out our shows with James Altucher and Wealth Without Wallstreet's Russ Morgan and Joey Mure. “Everyone has the ability to save, if you have the right psychology around how money works and the use of it as a vehicle to get what you want out of life.” - Joe Fier “Most people study history and look at it as an indicator of what to expect for the future, but we are literally in unchartered territory every day.” - Matt Wolfe Some Topics We Discussed Include: How most Americans can't even come up with $400 for unexpected emergencies What's the real reason you are driving that super cool sports car? Our show today with Elliot Roe, creator of an app called Primed Mind, was packed full of goodness. We chatted all about how he came to create the app after he was able to get over his fear of flying and he walked us through these pre-methods, to prime your mind for various circumstances. For example, if you have an athletic event coming up or you will be speaking on stage, it primes your mind for all these activities. Elliot works with people who are in the top 5% but know there's something holding them back to reach that 1%. These include top athletes, poker players, and Wall Street businessmen, who use his hypnotherapy services to get past that subconscious wall to break through to the next level. We also talk about how to get over imposter syndrome, uncovering hidden memories, and dealing with feelings of guilt, especially when it relates to running your business. Once you have listened, be sure to tune in to our previous shows with Erin Pheil and Rinesh Ganatra for additional insights on how to rock your productivity and erase those roadblocks that keep holding you back. “If there's a big difference between what you would tell yourself and what you are doing, there's something going on emotionally because you know the answer but you are not able to follow that system.” - Elliot Roe Some Topics We Discussed Include: Digging into your past by using hypnotherapy to change your emotions Common problems regarding feeling stuck at earning at a certain level and how it usually relates to your father How Elliot got over his fear of flying The interesting world of working with high-end poker players and athletes Getting over imposter syndrome How procrastination is one of the most common things Elliot's client deal with and how to get around it Bullied as a kid? On today's show, we are mixing things up a bit. We usually chat amongst just the two of us on Tuesdays, on this episode we decided to use an interview of someone interviewing us. This was an interview done by Stephan Spencer, host of Get Yourself Optimized and Marketing Speak, two great podcasts. We really enjoyed his line of questioning and he even stumped us on a few things. He's a deep thinker and is well studied, and we know you will enjoy this episode. You'll hear us work out some stuff and come to some realizations, such as how we got to the root of what makes us curators. Stephan is great at extracting details and asked about numbers and KPI's, but it's interesting because over time our business has shifted from looking at the numbers and more about prioritizing the lifestyle and inner joy. We also talk about various things we have learned from books that we love as well as how we handle our business relationship, some lessons learned from our early days in business and our ideas for the future. After you have listened, check out our previous chat with Stephan that we mentioned, since he is an SEO wizard as well as our conversation with Gary Henderson who gave us his takeaways on connecting with amazing and influential folks as well. “Our goal, focus, and mind space is always on how to create better content, and we live in that world.” - Matt Wolfe “We have established ‘No Working Wednesdays'...and it's allowed us to go 80/20, go deeper on the key actions that we should be taking and it has us really focused in.” - Joe Fier Some Topics We Discussed Include: Why you should focus more on creating systems and less on creating goals One of our big a-ha moments that really took the pressure off Our partnership and the good parts and bad (which basically never happen) No Working Wednesdays! We're back with another show, chatting with our friend and fellow podcaster Angelo Sisco from Alpha Hippie. One of the things we talk about is having stories around specific things, and how when you listen to others tell stories about the same thing, you can have a reframe and change your perception around this subject. Everything is a frequency, and Angelo has such a deep level of awareness which he trained himself into, and he walks a different plane than most people. You will have so many a-ha moments as you listen to Angelo explain how to reframe your mind and use both feminine and masculine energy to be successful in your business. Being a storyteller also has many benefits, and creating your own energetic energy in your life will put you in the right frame of mind. Angelo gives an overview of how he works with clients to create an identity alchemism shift, as well as the secret weapon he uses to change his frequency to match the situation he puts himself in. When you have finished, be sure to check out our previous chat with Angelo and our show with Marx Acosta-Rubio as we talk about how to get over those thoughts which are holding you back to create the mindset you need to move ahead. “So much of what holds our lives back is having those past thoughts and experiences and that's why being able to give good stories and recreate stories in our minds creates new thought patterns, new neural pathways, and expands us, and then we can allow for shifts.” - Angelo Sisco Some Topics We Discussed Include: How reading the Goosebumps stories as a kid, helped to build a career When telling a great story leads to analogies and insight You'll never think about tobacco in the same way again after hearing what Angelo has to say The meaning behind the identity alchemist and how you can become your best version of yourself How to change your identity to become a wealthy person Where the best McDonald's in the world is located! Success Story of the Week: This week's success story comes from Veronica Lopez, who has been on the podcast before. She writes in the success story forum, "I have a huge success story. My automated webinars are working.” Veronica says, "In January, I posted a rant/rave encouraging everyone to dive into webinars. I recently had a chance to speak to Shane and Jocelyn in a podcast episode, and my action step was related to diving into automated webinars. I jumped in with Easy Webinar on Monday evening. The platform is pretty easy, it took me a day to play around with the system, re-record my webinar and set up a Facebook ad to send people to register for it. The first automated webinar ran last night, and another one ran tonight. I had six attendees and two sales from the training. I had another sale just from the ad. That's three sales on a $187 course. Basically, the software and the ad is now paid for, and the rest will be profit. If you have a webinar that is working, don't delay. Get the automated set-up pronto.
