2 Fast 2 Forever: The Fast and Furious Podcast

It turns out that Annapolis, directed by Justin Lin, is basically the same movie as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It's perfect for the Oops! lap. We talk about how it feels like every movie you've ever seen, Tyrese... with hair?, and how Brian Goodman essentially plays Sean's Dad in this movie (but also the exact opposite?). We break down the movie's racism (toward all people), Jordana Brewster as an "escort," and Snickers sandwiches. We try to determine how old James Franco's character is supposed to be -- and whether or not he could have played Sean in Tokyo Drift. Joe airs a scheduling grievance with Joey, wonders how much naval prep Tyrese and Franco did for this movie, and shares the surprising plot twist that delighted him. We try to parse the trailer and why it doesn't seem to reflect the film we watched. The series stars Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher, Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher, Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson, Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher, and Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Brooker -- all of which sat down to discuss what it was like working on a show that is a reimaging of the original cult classic film. One of the most intense scenes, for me, was with Jackson was the initial parol hearing to which Jackson added that was done the first day of shooting. Caplan and I discussed how she isn't playing just a "crazy" woman and how things have changed a lot since the original film was made. For the rest of the cast, they discuss what their characters are thinking with each one breaking down how their relationship started with Dan and how it ends up years later. We also spoke to the Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John,” “Chance”) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series alongside executive producer Kevin J. Hynes (“Perry Mason”), with whom Cunningham developed the series, and executive producers Darryl Frank (“The Americans”) and Justin Falvey (“The Americans”) for Amblin Television. All of whom went into great detail on various scenes they did as an nod to the original film and others they expanded on to create a new universe. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Polina Jdanova Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: The all-new series is a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone FATAL ATTRACTION through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics and murder. In the present day, after serving 15 years in prison for the murder of Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), Daniel Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) is paroled with the goals of reconnecting with his family and proving his innocence. In 2008, Dan first meets Alex and his world begins to unravel after their brief affair threatens to destroy the life he's built with his wife, Beth (Amanda Peet). *Fatal Attraction premieres Sunday, April 30, 2023 on Paramount+ Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @SilenceonSet and Instagram @SilenceonSetPod

In this episode, Brian speaks about so many integral parts of teaching that aren't covered in the textbooks. We chat about what things to consider before getting a masters. We laugh about how groggy students are in the morning. Going even deeper, he confesses to us that teaching has helped him develop into a more open person. You won't want to miss this one. It's chalked (hehe) full of practical advice and down-to-earth perspective. Brian is one successful person, musician, and educator. I believe listening to this episode will help you become a little more of those things, too.    Support him and his students on Twitter @cridgeband  Rate & Review us pretty please! (:

Alan is on vacation (literally). So, he asked his friend Katie Couric if she'd lend him a couple of episodes of her podcast. Alan sent in his producers to interview Katie about her podcast. In this episode Katie and her co-host Brian Goldsmith welcome Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Bryan could have gone anywhere—he chose to move to Alabama to help confront racial disparities and reform the criminal justice system. On the pod, they discuss Bryan’s childhood experiences with school segregation, the problem with Confederate monuments, and shining a light on one of the darkest chapters in American history: the post-Civil War period of Jim Crow and lynching. Welcome to another episode of Behind the Scenes with Eric Fell and Shaun Stewart! Your compadres want to tell you about some of the new movies coming out this month in theatres and on DVD. Today we check out the DVD release of 'Hotel For Dogs', followed by a look at 'The Uninvited' and 'What Doesn't Kill You'. Enjoy! “Hotel for Dogs” stars Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon and Don Cheadle in a smart, funny comedy adventure that shows how far love and imagination can take you. When their new guardians forbid 16-year old Andi (Roberts) and her younger brother, Bruce (Austin) to have a pet, Andi has to use her quick wit to help find a new home for their dog, Friday. The resourceful kids stumble upon an abandoned hotel and using Bruce’s talents as a mechanical genius, transform it into a magical dog-paradise for Friday – and eventually for all Friday’s friends. When barking dogs make the neighbors suspicious, Andi and Bruce use every invention they have to avoid anyone discovering “who let the dogs in.” Based on Kim Jee-Woon's 2003 Korean horror film, “Changhwa Hongryon,” “The Uninvited” revolves around Anna (Emily Browning), who returns home after spending time in the hospital following the tragic death of her mother. Her recovery suffers a setback when she discovers her father (David Strathairn) has become engaged to her mother’s former nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks). That night, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her of Rachel's intentions. Together, Anna and her sister (Arielle Kebbel) try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reunion becomes a lethal battle of wills between stepdaughters and stepmother. Brian and Paulie are two young punks running loose on the hard streets of South Boston. Coming from separate but equally broken homes, the boys bond of friendship makes them brothers. They do whatever it takes to survive, living by the code of their dog eat dog neighborhood. As Brian (Mark Ruffalo) and Paulie (Ethan Hawke) get older, petty crimes and misdemeanors grow into more serious offenses. Eventually, they fall under sway to the organized crime boss Pat Kelly (Brian Goodman) who runs the felonious backroom businesses and illicit trades in Southie. They also find themselves the targets of unwanted attention from Detective Moran (Donnie Wahlberg) one of Boston’s finest. . Be sure to check out more Behind the Scenes! We screen 3 episodes a week.
