Born and raised by a touring musician mother, Cameron Wright was destined for a music career. By training under her mother, Cameron became known as a local sensation by age 11. They performed at all the local venues and recorded a demo, which was later heard by Stevie Wonder and led to performing a duet with him at a concert. After high school, Cameron moved in with their grandparents in St. Louis and instantly felt reconnected to their roots. Cameron started writing songs there, which played an intricate part in developing their sound today. By 2015, Cameron had built a strong social media presence and moved to L.A. for new musical opportunities. Within two months of moving to L.A., they booked major shows with artists such as the 1975 and later performed at Beyoncé's Beychella. In 2023, Cameron learned their grandmother was very ill, so they canceled all musical obligations to be in St. Louis with her. Two weeks later, she passed away from breast cancer. Through the grief, Cameron enhanced their relationship with their mom and is now back living in Minneapolis, thriving in the local music scene.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

There has been no Edmonton Oilers hockey for the past four days, so we are only two days away from a game day. The Oilers will return on the ice Wednesday night at Rogers Place to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. If you remember back to their previous matchup, you could argue that the third period was the most significant turning point of the Oilers season. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, though, there are some other most recent Edmonton conversations we need to talk about. Jack Campbell is the biggest headline in the city after the rumours swirled around about his return to Edmonton. Well, his performance on Saturday night put a hold on that idea. Campbell allowed four goals on 35 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Texas Rangers. Two of the goals were not up to NHL standard either. So what now? Bruce Curlock from Oilersnation will give us his thoughts on Campbell's future in the NHL, especially on what it would take for him to return to Edmonton. Additionally, Bruce will give us an update on other prospects in the Oilers system, including Cameron Wright, Jake Stonehouse and Carter Savoie. If you want to contribute something to the conversation, head over to the Oilersnation YouTube channel and leave your thoughts in the Finning/CAT YouTube live chat. Mills has a low back strain, and Miley is dealing with left elbow inflammation. Simmons is working through right shoulder inflammation. Each IL stint was made retroactive to Monday. Mills’ IL stint helped pave the way for right-hander Michael Rucker to make the opening-day roster for the first time. Rucker, who turns 28 on April 27, had no record and a 6.99 ERA in 20 appearances for Chicago last summer in his first big league action. MLB – White Sox 3B Moncada to miss 3 weeks with strained oblique The Chicago White Sox expect third baseman Yoán Moncada to miss the first three weeks of the season because of a strained right oblique. The team placed Moncada on the 10-day injured list on Thursday as part of a flurry of moves to get the roster down to 28 players. General manager Rick Hahn told reporters in Detroit, where the White Sox open against the Tigers on Friday, that Moncada will likely miss about three weeks. The 26-year-old Cuban was scratched from the spring training finale against San Diego on Tuesday. Moncada batted .263 with 14 homers and 61 RBIs last season, helping the White Sox win the AL Central and make the playoffs for the second straight year. Alex Wennberg scored his 10th goal in the second period and Jordan Eberle added his 18th late in the third to seal it. Grubauer was only lightly tested by the Blackhawks, who dropped their sixth straight game and occasionally were booed by their home crowd. Grubauer, who recorded his 20th career shutout, also was in net for the Kraken’s first shutout on Feb. 2 against the Islanders. Chicago goalie Kevin Lankinen stopped 29 shots. The Pioneers will play for the title Saturday night against Minnesota State — a 5-1 winner over Minnesota in the second semifinal. It would be Denver’s ninth men’s hockey championship, tying Michigan for the most in NCAA history. Magnus Chrona made 19 saves for the Pioneers. Brett Stapley and Cameron Wright also scored for Denver. But both times Michigan tied it — on goals from Jimmy Lambert and Thomas Bordeleau. NCAAWBKB – NCAA Women’s Tournament TV rights could have different look The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament reported strong viewership numbers this week. The event is packaged with 28 others in a broadcast rights deal with ESPN. That agreement expires in two years. There is speculation that the NCAA might see if the women’s tournament can be marketed as its own event. One estimate is that it could be sold for $100 million. NCAA President Mark Emmert says all options are on the table. NCAAFB – Kelly on leaving Irish for LSU: ‘We were on different paths’ Brian Kelly is settled in at LSU after 12 seasons at Notre Dame. Kelly tells The Associated Press he wanted to be at a place where he had all “the resources to win a national championship.” He says he was prepared to spend the rest of his career at Notre Dame. But he says they ended up on different paths on how to get there. He says he is fine with the change. LSU gave the 60-year-old coach a 10-year, $95 million contract. Golf – The Masters – Im leads, Woods plays well Tiger Woods played pretty well at the Masters on Thursday. Sungjae Im was a little better. Im opened with a 5-under 67 for a one-stroke lead over Cameron Smith at Augusta National. He recovered from a pair of bogeys with a 12-foot eagle putt on the 13th and added a late birdie. Smith opened and closed with double bogeys, but he also had eight birdies. Scottie Scheffler and Dustin Johnson are two shots back, as are Danny Willett and Joaquin Niemann. Woods had three birdies and two bogeys in a 1-under 71 that leaves him tied for 11th. It was his first competitive round since shattering a leg in a car accident 14 months ago. NHL – National Hockey League Last Night Seattle Kraken 2, Chicago Blackhawks 0 Kraken 2, Blackhawks 0 – Grubauer, Kraken blank sinking Blackhawks 2-0 Philipp Grubauer made 29 saves for Seattle’s second shutout, and the expansion Kraken blanked the sliding Chicago Blackhawks 2-0. In episode 71 of GT247's Tigers in 20, host and lead writer Christian Fowler, GT247 founder Brooks Hansen and digital content producer Kenny Stubblefield discuss the latest in Memphis football and basketball. To begin the episode, the crew breaks down the news of three-star wide receiver Cameron Wright committing to Memphis. Fowler takes a look at what type of player Wright is and what he adds to an already stacked class. Wright has offers from Ole Miss and UCF among others, and he has also recently drawn a lot of interest from Kentucky. Despite the competition, Memphis was able to get his commitment on Wednesday. Next, Fowler, Hansen and Stubblefield give their opinion on the 2020-2021 college basketball and football seasons. The trio gives their individual takes on what the season could look like and the biggest potential hurdles. After the football discussion, the GT247 crew talks about the recent Crystal Ball flips from LSU to Memphis for five-star Moussa Cisse. The only two Crystal Ball Predictions for Memphis before the 4th of July were from Fowler and Hansen, but Memphis now has 81.8 percent of the predictions. Hansen explains why he has kept his Crystal Ball for Memphis since late November, and the crew also has a conversation on how difficult gaining information and getting scoops actually is.  Next, Hansen gives his insight on Penny Hardaway's coaching search. Although he doesn't name specific candidates, Hansen gives a timetable for when Hardaway could hire a new assistant coach. Finally, the trio talks about some of Memphis' newest 2021 basketball offers, including four-star James Graham and fast-rising Josh Minott. Learn more about your ad choices. Today on The Total Media Network's Dr. Christopher Hall Show, Dr. Chris and The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Cameron Wright of Netflix series Family Reunion. With production paused on his Netflix series "Family Reunion," we would love to arrange an interview with you and 14 year old actor Cameron J. Wright to discuss how he is currently spending his time at home, and to share with kids his anxiety reducing techniques & tips for a ceative and productive time while out of school and stuck at home. As a young working actor and touring musician, Cameron also hopes to inspire kids with a message that we are all in this together. Cameron and his castmates recently took home a NAACP Image Award win for his breakout role in NETFLIX's "Family Reunion," and he is spending this time gearing up to release new music from with producer Nick Cannon on board to promote. Now on stay at home orders from filming season 2 in Los Angeles, Cameron's Netflix series "Family Reunion" features an all-star ensemble cast including Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister), Loretta Devine (Madea's Big Happy Family), and Richard Roundtree (Shaft). In "Family Reunion," which is penned entirely by black writers, Cameron stars as 'Mazzi McKellan,' whose family lives the good life in Seattle- their father was an NFL star and they have everything they want... except diversity. That all changes though, as their family vacation suddenly turns into a hilarious and touching, cross-country move to a small town in Georgia, where they get to know an extended family they didn't even realize they were missing.

I loved today's conversation. Joe Koenig, President of World Wide Technology, shares how he grew it from a few million dollars and a couple dozen employees to several billion dollars and 6,000 leaders. Even more impactful, you'll hear the humility behind the mission and the love story of Joe and his wife Kim. They share about a cancer diagnosis, the journey that followed, and a love and faith that continues to guide their way. Today, hear how they have transcended the big diagnosis and how they're choosing to lead their lives to serve others. SHOW NOTES: The gift of grit: Kim moved nine times before high school giving her the skills to not feel scared or intimidated walking into new situations later in life. When Joe started at World Wide Technology, a technology solution provider, in 1993 when it was a young, start-up with 15 employees and $8 million in revenue. By 2018, it's grown to over 6,000 employees and over $11 billion in revenue.  THE PATH: The core values at WWT are Trust, Humility, Embrace change, Passion, Attitude, Teamwork, and Honesty. Employees at WWT are empowered to fuel their passions through Day of Caring initiatives and other resources. "Plan + attack" mode: The initial cancer diagnosis required multiple surgeries and the removal of 50-60% of Joe's tongue. After learning it spread to his lymph nodes, Joe required a heavy dose of radiation resulting in a painful path to recovery. Prior to the diagnosis, Kim embarked on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, giving her armor to sustain what was to come. No one fights alone: Building a support system of people that had gone through a similar situation helped guide, push and challenge them. Unconditional love: The process taught them the depth and meaning of their vows and hope it serves their children in their future committed relationships. Joe hopes to show their children how to deal with situations in a positive way, how you can impact others, build empathy + character and how to be a multiplier of love for others. If today's episode reminded you that the best days remain in front of us, you'll love Live Inspired Podcast guest Michele Cushatt. Michele shares her story of trauma, how hope got her through her struggles and how it will help you through yours on ep. 132. KIM AND JOE KOENIG'S LIVE INSPIRED 7 1. What is the best book you’ve ever read?  Kim: The Rent Collector by Cameron Wright. Joe: Halftime by Bob Buford and Multipliers by Liz Wiseman. (Founding partner of Halftime Institue Lloyd Reeb was on Live Inspired Podcast ep. 170. He's continuing Bob's mission to help others ensure their next season in life is defined by joy, impact, and balance. Listen to ep. 170 here.) 2. What is a characteristic or trait that you possessed as a child that you wish you still exhibited today?  Kim: Being open-minded. Joe: Adventure and short memory. 3. Your house is on fire, all living things and people are out. You have the opportunity to run in and grab one item. What would it be?  Kim: My grandma, my dad’s mom. She lived for 27 years without her husband. I'd want to learn how she was so resilient and strong to live a great long life after he passed. Joe: My mom and dad. I'd ask him about pain was he going through from 12 years and how did he deal with it. I'd ask my mom the truth for how she dealt with all the pain, suffering and death in her life. 4. You are sitting on a bench overlooking a gorgeous beach. You have the opportunity to have a long conversation with anyone living or dead. Who would it be?  Kim: My wedding ring. Joe: My family photos and videos. 5. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?  Kim: If you are consumed by worry and let worrying take over, you’re going to miss the joy. Joe: Jim Kavanaugh telling me to come work for WWT; Be interested, not interesting. 6. What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?  Kim: Trust yourself. You’ll end up and get where you’re needing to be by making good choices. Joe: You’re going to have great successes and many failures. Great times and some real, real tough times. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. 7. It’s been said that all great people can have their lives summed up in one sentence. How do you want yours to read?  Kim: Well done by a good and faithful servant. Joe: He was a true multiplier of others. *** Did you enjoy today's episode? Subscribe, rate + review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts!
