Diving into the second episode of The Amazing Race Season 36 in sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where things got spicy during the second leg of the race. Our crystal ball was on point as the Black Team waved goodbye in this episode. A puzzle made-to-order for a specific team caught our eye too. Let's settle this with a fierce Ro-Sham-Bo match: "Color Correction" or "Balloon Collection"? We dissect the tactics behind these challenges and debate if we'd lend a helping hand to fellow racers early on. Cue the team debrief - we spotlight the stars and the stumblers, the lost souls, slow movers, and the challenge hoppers. Unveiling our "Skeletons in the closet," we spill the face-painting secrets, divvy up roles, chat about butterfly wings, and compare the Iguana Bridge versus the park hurdles. Is the Light Blue Team the dark horse we didn't see coming? Will he ever make it through an episode without a tear? Adiós to the Black Team! Despite Mary's saint-like patience with her dad, slow painting and a lack of urgency spelled their exit. And lastly, we predict who's next on the chopping block. Follow us on Instagram @j.a.m.session

Michael Mintz joins me on this episode of the podcast. For over 28 years, Michael has worked as a colorist at notable post facilities like Post Group, Tunnel Post, New Hat, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Currently, he is a Senior Colorist at Margarita Mix in Hollywood. The focus of this episode is decidedly “tech free.” We discuss the ins and outs of working with clients, what it takes to run a supervised session, and how to land new work. There are tons of articles and tutorials covering workflow, software, and color science, but we rarely talk about our relationship to clients.
In this episode, I talk with Senior Colorist, Mark Todd Osborne. Mark is known for coloring feature films like Need for Speed, Silk Road, and It Follows. But, in addition to those movies, Mark has graded a wide range of documentary subjects from Phil Spector to Sesame Street. Documentaries can have specific challenges for a colorist. Recreations and stock footage need to fit into the story, and some docs even use a look to set the time and mood. And there can be a debate over whether to restore footage, versus keeping it as authentic as possible.
On this episode of the Colorist Society Podcast, I chat with Sheri Eisenberg, Senior Colorist at Warner Brothers. Sheri's focus is on restoration, and has helped bring some of the biggest classic films into the 21st century. Her work includes restorations of Rosemary's Baby, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Taxi Driver, and Casablanca. As she explains, there's a lot that goes into a restoration from dealing with multiple unmatched sources, how older films fit into an UHD/HDR world, and understanding the viewer's and filmmaker's original expectations of a film.

Corrections to Estimated Accretion Disk Size due to Color Correction, Disk Truncation and Disk Wind by Andrzej A. Zdziarski et al. on Sunday 25 September We consider three corrections to the disk sizes estimated at a given frequency using accretion models. They are due to a color correction, a disk truncation at an inner radius larger than the innermost stable circular orbit, and disk winds, which we apply to the standard disk model. We apply our results to the estimates of the disk sizes based on microlensing. We find these three effects combined can explain the long-standing problem of the disk sizes from microlensing being larger than those estimated using the standard disk model (i.e., that without accounting for the above effects). In particular, an increase of the color correction with the increasing temperature can lead to a strong increase of the half-light radius even if this correction is close to unity at the temperature corresponding to an observed frequency. Our proposed formalism for calculating the half-light radius also resolves the long-standing issue of discrepancies between the disk size estimates based on the accretion rate and on the observed flux. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2206.06262v2
We've talked a lot about race when it comes to casting choices in movies and television. And aside from some missteps, we are seeing more diversity and representation in the last few years. What if white members of a church redistributed their wealth to Black members? Andrew Yang shares that Circle of Hope decided to find out. Andrew Yang is a Han Taiwanese attorney and activist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He helps lead the Circle Mobilizing Because Black Lives Matter compassion team and is a co-host of Color Correction, a podcast about the intersection of race and faith. This piece appears in Geez 63: Sound the Trumpet. In this moment of massive debt overload, mass incarceration, and rampant land destruction, this issue asks: What would the practice of Jubilee look like today? We dream together of reparations, debt forgiveness, prison abolition, land restoration, and a whole lot of radical rest.
Oggi esaminiamo nello specifico il processo alterazione del colore, un trend molto diffuso in fotografia (soprattutto nei ritratti) ma che deriva dal cinema.
Jonny interviews our friend Bethany Stewart, the leader of our Circle Mobilizing Because Black Lives Matter Compassion Team, and one of the co-hosts of the Color Correction podcast. She shares about the team's efforts to raise money for the black covenant members of our church in a campaign called Jubilee Wealth Redistribution, her apprehension/doubt going into it, and the awesome success of it. She also touches on generational wealth gaps, reparations, among a host of other topics! Moreover, how all of this is connected to her faith. Tons of thoughts and wisdom here from a great friend and leader in Circle of Hope. Also, as always, a little talkback on how we worship even when we don't feel it, and some Spiritual Show and Tell: "Jesus and the Forces of Death," "H is for Hawk," hiking and retreats, and the community relying on each other. //Notes// - Interview with Bethany Stewart - Bethany Stewart: https://www.instagram.com/bethanystewartphl Color Correction: https://www.colorcorrectionpodcast.com/ - Spiritual Show and Tell - Love/Rinse/Repeat: Jesus and the Forces of Death http://www.loverinserepeat.com/podcast/thiessen H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18803640-h-is-for-hawk "People do not live very long or look very hard. Color correction is such an important thing in the beauty industry. In this episode, Rachel walks us through the essentials for when it comes to color correction and understanding color wheels. Meet Rachel: My name is Rachel and I am the owner of Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics in Hazleton, Pennsylvania USA. I have been a permanent makeup artist for about 2 years. I have a background in the tattoo industry and makeup artistry so I decided to combine them. I am a registered medical assistant for 8 years and have skills in proper sanitation and blood borne pathogens. I am always continuing my education and I am certified in Powder Brows, Lip Blush, Eyeliner and Freckles. I also do perfection courses to sharpen my skills. My favorite part of permanent makeup is color theory. My number one goal is to see that smile on my clients face after a procedure. If my client isn't happy I'm not happy. Goals for my business in the future are to be teaching permanent makeup and helping other artists with their skills. I love what I do for work and to me it's like not working at all. What's up everyone? Today I will be telling you a story about an amazing guest I had a few weeks back that totally inspired me! Life is not happening to us, it's happening for us! I was a bit stressed out with her during her color correction service but I had to set some boundaries and in this episode, I share with you what boundaries we should be setting plus what to expect and bring up during color corrections! Bottom line is this: these are luxury services that we don't really have to do - they will never be perfect in one shot and they are stressful!
