_getting tired of the same old boring news about politics? Well here is a fun escape where we keep you informed - real talk in real time! Listen in as we discuss "politricks" _ *Episode 173: Politricks * WAR - in Iran 25+ billion in the hole Voting Rights Act - Section 2 gutted On April 29, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Louisiana v. Callais, effectively gutting Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) by severely weakening protections against racial gerrymandering and discriminatory voting maps. The decision mandates a higher burden of proof for voting discrimination, making it harder to challenge maps. White House Press Correspondents Dinner Background: Allen is a resident of Torrance, California, described as a tutor and computer programmer who worked for C2 Education. He holds a master's degree in computer science from California State University-Dominguez Hills. Actions: He is accused of attempting to breach a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton hotel on April 25, 2026, while armed. Weapons: Authorities recovered a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, a Rock Island Armory 1911 .38-caliber pistol, and three knives. Premeditation: Investigators found that Allen traveled by train from Los Angeles to Washington D.C., checking into the hotel on April 24. Minutes before the attack, he sent a note to his family outlining his intent to target administration officials. Was this staged? Inconsistencies in CCTV footage appear tampered. SEASON 4 EPISODE 83: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (3:00) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump has given away his labyrinthine plot to stay in office past 2028 in one social media post and he’s just crazy enough to think it will work. It is in his rant claiming the indictment of a political opponent means "The 2020 Presidential Election Should Be Permanently Wiped From The Books And Be Of No Further Force or Effect…” He is not going to try a new Constitutional Amendment or say the limit is two CONSECUTIVE terms. He's not going another coup (at least not initially). He is going to try to nullify the 2020 Election - and hold that vote again. ANOTHER 2020 Election. In 2028. If you think that's too crazy easy for him - is it crazier than Trump insisting yesterday that we are in a war against UKRAINE? Crazier than indicting the former FBI Director on a threat to kill Trump with a seashell meme? Crazier than trying to get a comedian fired for a joke about Trump’s death and his wife when TRUMP then goes out and makes a joke about his death and his wife and all America is talking about is the dreaded D-word? Crazier than indicting a man for trying to shoot him at the Correspondents’ Dinner when it is now unmistakably clear that the suspect never fired a shot and was never on the same floor as Trump was? Crazier than Trump's insistence that we should pay for this damn ballroom because it'll protect presidents? What - are they sealing themselves in like Saddam Hussein in his Hidey Hole? And then I'll detail Trump’s bid to MATA: Make America 2020 Again. B-Block (36:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Two competing Bari Weiss entries because while nobody's watching her version of the CBS Evening News, everybody seems to have seen her prized reporter Olivia Reingold making a fool of herself on video from the Correspondents' Dinner. And speaking of that, Stephen A. Smith came out of that experience knowing who is to blame for all America's problems: those evil liberals! Whose presidential nomination he expects to win. ESPN has a choice: platform a political idiot and Conservative tool and destroy your franchise, or get rid of him and keep it. C-Block (55:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I often wonder WHY I ever became a political commentator. It wasn't planned and it wasn't supposed to be permanent. And the story of HOW I became a political commentator is even crazier.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dave Spencer and co-hosts Kurt Bardella and Ashley Davis break down the fallout from the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting and what it says about security, the political response, and whether anything in Washington will actually change. You'll hear firsthand from Ashley, who was at the event and seated with FBI Director Kash Patel, including why even the highest-profile gatherings have real security limits and why moments like this rarely lead to lasting shifts in behavior or policy. They also dig into the broader gun policy debate, including why past tragedies have failed to move legislation and what it would actually take for Congress to act. The conversation then turns to the Trump cabinet, including whether Kash Patel can hold on to his role and who could be out by Labor Day as pressure builds around the economy, foreign policy, and public opinion. Finally, they discuss the latest redistricting battles across key states, and whether late-stage efforts to redraw maps will backfire and what that could mean for control of Congress heading into the midterms. On Saturday evening a gunman attempted to storm the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington DC. The act of political violence - the third assassination attempt of US President Donald Trump - occurred just three days before the 30th anniversary of Australia's deadliest mass shooting, the Port Arthur massacre, which prompted sweeping gun reform. So why has one country been able to respond to gun violence decisively while another hasn't? Jimmy Kimmel gets called out by the First Lady after joking last week about the President's death, a matter exacerbated by a crazy gunman storming the Correspondents Dinner to assassinate Trump and his officials days later. What ensues is a childish back and forth that the left clearly loses, as media deep staters like Jake Tapper prove to the world that they are democrat propagandists. There are no standards unless they are double standards.
Hawk walks through Jonathan V. Last's newsletter from The Bulwark, titled "Political Violence Breaks Containment," which traces Trump's pattern from encouraging rally-goers to punch protesters in 2016, to excusing Charlottesville, to the January 6th Capitol insurrection, to pardoning convicted violent offenders and even placing one inside the DOJ. The same administration that published what JVL calls snuff films, threatened genocide against the Iranian people, and called political opponents vermin and enemies of the state is now incredulous that political violence has turned in its direction. The shooter, Cole Thomas Allen, a teacher and engineer who checked into the hotel a day before the event with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives, found virtually no security in place. He sent a manifesto to family members roughly 10 minutes before the attack, outlining his targets, his rules of engagement, and his reasoning, rooted in rage at the current administration. Hawk also covers why trust in this White House's version of events has completely collapsed, on both sides of the political spectrum, because of years of disinformation, QAnon, Pizzagate, and compulsive lying. Even Trump's own base no longer believes the official narrative coming out of the administration. The Epstein files, the rhetoric, the pardons, the violence. It all connects. Don Lemon's rebuttal to the press briefing gets a full look here, including a pointed critique of CNN's Dana Bash and the network's habit of false equivalence when covering Democratic opposition to the Trump administration. The Jimmy Kimmel controversy takes center stage after Kimmel's mock White House Correspondents' Dinner joke about Melania Trump drew condemnation from both Melania and Donald Trump, who called for ABC and Disney to fire Kimmel immediately. Karl Rove, famously nicknamed "Turd Blossom" by George W. Bush, weighs in with a surprisingly measured take. King Charles and Queen Camilla's visit to Washington gets scrutinized, with Steve Schmidt of the Lincoln Project raising serious concerns about normalizing a visit to a White House responsible for global economic instability and an escalating conflict with Iran. Prince Andrew's connection to the Epstein files adds another layer to questions about the timing of the royal visit.Tucker Carlson as the 2028 Republican frontrunner and Candace Owens' influence on young voters also come up. Within minutes of the news of a shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, people claimed on social media that the incident was “STAGED." To be clear — these were conspiracy theories, not supported by what we know about the suspect. The most common of these theories claim the shooting was orchestrated in an effort to boost President Trump's plans for a new White House ballroom. It isn't surprising that rampant speculation would instantly surround an act of apparent politically-motivated violence, but this incident suggests that voices on the left are increasingly engaged with conspiracy theories. If the shooting was staged, the first objective would be obvious: shift Trump from aggressor to target. One day the public is asking why America is entangled in another Middle East war, who benefits from it, and how far it is going to go. The next day, the headline changes. Trump is no longer the man who started the Iran War; he is the man who survived the attack. That is not merely a news-cycle change, that's a moral repositioning. The commander becomes the victim. The war-maker becomes the wounded hero. The man facing scrutiny becomes the man demanding unity. That is how political theater works. You don't answer the hard question, you just replace it with a bigger emotional event. Butler, PA, anyone?“He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” Psalm 2:4 (KJB)On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, if this were staged, it would serve as a ready-made sales pitch for the so-called security upgrades Trump already wanted. The moment gunfire enters the story, objections to construction, spending, expansion, and security hardening begin to sound petty, partisan, and even dangerous. “How can you oppose the ballroom now?” becomes the new refrain. “How can you deny the president the protection he needs?” The ballroom stops being vanity architecture and becomes a bunker with chandeliers. If this were staged, it would be aimed straight at the midterms. Nothing mobilizes a political base like perceived persecution. Trump has always understood that better than anyone in modern politics. He does not merely campaign on policy. He campaigns on betrayal, siege, enemies, and survival. Lastly — perhaps most importantly — if this were staged, it would be designed to bury the Epstein files under a mountain of patriotic emergency coverage. Because Epstein is the scandal Washington cannot digest. It touches too many names, too many institutions, too many protected networks, too many people who have spent years pretending they know nothing. A war can bury Epstein. A shooting can bury Epstein. A national security drama can bury Epstein. All of them move the camera away from the black book and back to the man at the podium. It gives Trump an exit ramp. It gives him a construction argument. It gives him a campaign frame. It gives the media a reason to move on from Epstein. That is four political gifts wrapped inside one dramatic incident. So the real question is not simply, “Was it staged?” The real question is this, why does modern American politics now look so artificial that millions of people assume the stage lights are already on before the blood is even dry? On today's Prophecy News Podcast, we take you to the world premiere of ‘The Correspondents Dinner' and take you backstage at the White House to meet the actors with an All-Areas Access pass.

He told Andrew Dickens, "I heard some shouting and people diving under tables, and that kind of rippled like a wave through the room, and all of us, including me and guests at our table, we dived under." The Gary & Shannon Show Hour 1 (04.22) – A deceptively simple question drives the whole hour… and it goes everywhere.• Earth Day moment → baby elephant debut sets a wholesome tone… briefly• LAUSD screen crackdown → from Chromebooks for everyone to major restrictions, and what that means for how kids actually learn• AI enters the chat → do students need to learn it… or is it learning them? And what are we even using it for?• The bigger theme → “to what end?” — from AI prompts to productivity to how we’re actually thinking• Governor’s race heats up → debate preview, rising candidates, and whether the field is still wide open• Sports chaos → exploding glass at a Kings game, Josh Allen’s bad-luck aura, and Dodgers vs. Giants energy• Politics meets culture → Grindr steps into DC influence with a high-profile event around the Correspondents Dinner• #TerrorInTheSkies → two close calls, zero margin for error, and a reminder of how thin the line isSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
President Trump is breaking his boycott and will attend Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association black-tie dinner. And now the media is freaking out. The New York Times says his attendance has "raised some uncomfortable questions within media and political circles." "What sort of message will this president, who has sued, threatened and demonized the independent news media, deliver when handed a microphone in front of hundreds of the nation’s most prominent journalists,” the Times reported. Several hundred journalists are demanding the correspondents publicly confront and rebuke the president. "How will the Correspondents’ Association, whose mission is to support the First Amendment, respond to a president whose favorite form of speech is speech that is favorable toward him?"See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
SEASON 4 EPISODE 77: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Did Trump lose to Iran because the war was escalating too quickly for him? Firstly, great cease fire, Trump. Oh did we mention it doesn’t include Lebanon but it DOES include Iran closing the strait of Hormuz on Day 1. CEASEFIRE? This is way more FIRE than CEASE. How do you LOSE a cease fire, El Presidente? But the bigger question: did Trump really call off his genocide because he didn’t need the missiles flying THIS week? Because this is way too early to precipitate a crisis HERE, in AMERICA? Did he give the Iranians control of Hormuz and let them keep their uranium and get out from under the sanctions because while the FIRST reason for this pointless brinksmanship was a distraction from the Epstein Files, the SECOND reason was to have a reason in late summer and early autumn to declare a domestic emergency HERE, and mess with the elections? To extrapolate from the cynical but entirely logical and disturbing writings of the great historian Professor Tim Snyder, is all this because Trump didn’t need retaliation from Iran and maybe the threat of Iranian terrorism (real or staged) on APRIL 9th… he needs it on OCTOBER 9th… so this was not only postponed, but it was postponed already pre-sabotaged, so he can keep it on a back burner TIL then, or bring it back later when he needs to lie and say Iran is a threat HERE? PLUS: Thank you Pam Bondi for putting Epstein back on the map, by not just going to the House deposition and taking the hit. Now we can again point at an all-too-obvious Trump Epstein cover-up. The other day I jokingly asked 'Where the F happened to Rudy Giuliani?" and all of a sudden he's back. And my old boss Jeff Shell did indeed get fired, for the second time, as a major TV network president. B-Block (29:15) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Dr. Naomi Wolf is an all-time great. This time, she is unaware of the sun. We have Trump-inspired Eggcorn propagators talking about "Litnis Tests" and the "Commander And Chief!" A boss at X describes writing on the site as "tweeting." And as Trump threatens to arrest reporters (again) the White House Correspondents Dinner looms and they will welcome him, but no critics, no comedians, and no protest except the lamest thing you've ever heard: The Jake Tapper Protest Pocket Square. C-Block (55:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: He was perhaps the greatest mechanical newscaster in history. Just perfect on the air. That, he explained, was because he never thought, he just read. Unfortunately if there was a mistake in the script, he'd read that too. And one night, boy was there a mistake in Jerry Dunphy's script!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
