The film was directed by David Litchfield but has remained on the shelf but snippets have been officially released most recently on the Archive Edition of Band On The Run (Nov. 2010). Tell A Tale Pod - Telling tales, igniting imagination !

"When I Was a Child" brings together two mega talents in children's books - Andy Stanton, the bestselling author of Mr Gum, and David Litchfield, the award-winning creator of The Bear and The Piano. The simple message of the books is that one is never too old to continue seeing the magic in the world and that children are the best people to remind grown-ups that magic really does exist everywhere you look. In this case through the eyes of a grandchild/grandparent relationship. Talking to elders and hearing their memories is so important for children in building a sense of their own identity and developing empathy, and this book captures those "when I was your age" conversations beautifully – and could also prompt sharing many more.   Make a list of the rhymes and near rhymes heard in the poem. What is the name of the grand-daughter? Why do you think the colours did not fade? What might the world have looked like if if was a 'crystal jewel'? How or why might a river grow 'tired'? Why do you think the grandma can't see the magic but the grand-daughter can?

Pip is a seed from a glorious tree, and Egg is a bird's egg from a nearby nest. When Pip and Egg first meet, they are almost the same size and shape - like two peas in a pod. But as their friendship grows, so do they - for Pip this means growing roots, but for Egg? Well, Egg grows wings, and she can't wait to use them. Though Pip wishes he can follow Egg on her adventures, his roots are strong. So he watches his friend fly away. But true friends always find their way back to one another, and there are no truer friends than Pip and Egg. They return to 1985, which is now changed - and it’s not good - and they have to fix things by going back to 1955 (again). It’s fair to say BTTF 2 is not the five star classic BTTF is. The plot feels a bit tired, the product placement tie-ins are jarring (Michael Jackson), the vision of 2015 doesn’t really work and Fox playing his own future daughter is just weird! Watching BTTF 2 with 2020 eyes it’s hard to ignore some of the films misogyny - Jennifer being knocked out early on to avoid her hindering the rescue mission - and nothing can hide some of the terrible make up effects (Lorraine’s fake boobs) and the absence of Glover. Scores [supsystic-tables id=148] Not as fun or warmed hearted as BTTF this sequel will still hold a special place for die hard fans but maybe not earn many new first time watch fans. Back to the Future Part 2 scores 3.61 overall. What do you guys think? Have you seen The Thing? What did you think? It's Episode 129! Illustrators Sam Gilbey and David Litchfield join Flixwatcher to review Sam’s choice, John Carpenters The Thing. The Thing is a 1981 sci-fi horror directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell. Not to be confused with the 2011 version, The Thing or The Thing from Another World from 1951. The film opens with a dog being chased across an ice landscape by a Norwegian helicopter, they fail to kill the dog and accidentally blown themselves up. What follows is a delicious mix of isolation paranoia, gross body horror and big action moments. You may not have seen it, but you’ll probably be familiar with the line “you’ve got to be fucking kidding’ and the disembodied head spider scuttling across the floor. With a score by Ennio Morricone and some excellent dog acting, The Thing has aged reasonably well. The Rob Bottin special effects are as ridiculous and gross as they were in the 80s, even if they do look a little rubbery now. Scores [supsystic-tables id=134] Scoring fairly high across all categories (with slightly less from Kobi) The Thing scores an impressive 4.27 overall. There was a lot of love/general terror for The Thing from Twitter too. What do you guys think? Have you seen The Thing? What did you think? Our long-awaited final episode in partnership with the BFI’s Comedy Genius season is finally here and it’s a doozy. Compiled over the last few months as the national season was taking place between November and January, this episode sees a diverse range of film critics, academics, filmmakers and an illustrator (as well as Neil and Dario of course) sharing some of their favourite comedy films and performances. This episode was envisaged as a joyous journey into screen comedy and our guests have picked a range of performers from cinema (as well as television and stand-up comedy) history to reflect upon. We hope it serves as a reminder of the joy and importance of laughing and the innate and deeply personal connection that audiences have with screen comedy.  Thanks to the BFI FAN Network for supporting the making of this episode. Thanks also, to our amazing roster of participants who shared their time and their love of comedic performances in all different shades. It allows sensitive data, such as PII, to be redacted or masked to prevent it being exposed to attackers. On paper this sounds like a great idea but in practice, Oracle's implementation is vulnerable to multiple attacks that allow an attacker to trivially bypass the masking and launch privilege escalation attacks. David Litchfield is a computer security researcher with a special interest in buffer overflow exploitation and database systems. He has written and contributed to several books including the Shellcoder's Handbook, The Database Hacker's Handbook and the Oracle Hacker's Handbook. Syhopsis When I caught up with these two gentlemen in Amsterdam over the week of Black Hat 2012, I knew we wouldn't run out of things to talk about!  We ended up chatting for quite some time, and I think you'll find this conversation interesting from hearing of David's recent work with Oracle, and Jim's perspective on "the fix"... I kept the conversation going and am probably at last partially responsible for how long this podcast ended up being.  It's well worth the time, in my opinion, as we cover the following topics: Attacking Oracle (David's talk had to be shelved, but he talks about ways to attack Oracle via putting a string into a numeric query - by manipulating the meta-environment) Jim & David talk about how to do sane SQL Injection protection (bind everything!) David talks about some contrived ways of hacking Oracle databases, that are 'outside the business logic' and explains why validation is still important Jim brings up structural validation of inputs (useful white-listing) David brings up that his exploits from 2007 are STILL working in 2012 - terrifying "Parameterize it, or jeopardize it" - Jim's campaign to rid the world of SQL Injection David talks about unconventional database forensics that identify attacks via weblogs Vendors have upped their game to protect applications, developers are still writing bad code Jim Manico "We are entering the golden age of hackers" ... does this mean better security?! David discusses how if MS had stopped development of NEW features, WinNT4 would be 'secure' by now... but innovation & features will continue to drive forward - security suffers Jim asks "does the [development] framework of the future, consider security as a built-in?" Guests Jim Manico - One of the people who holds OWASP together, Jim is an enthusiastic espouser of the Web App Security word.  You can find him providing training, practical advice, and code knowledge all over the place, particularly for the OWASP organization. David Litchfield - David has been taking Oracle to task over their claims of database security for years, and continues to be a driving force behind penetration testing, database forensics, and all things Oracle security.

Database Forensics expert David Litchfield will discuss his new tool and paper with Black Hat Founder and Director Jeff Moss and take questions from our webcast audience. The tool, orablock, allows a forensic investigator to dump data from a "cold" Oracle data file - i.e. there's no need to load up the data file in the database which would cause the data file to be modified, so using orablock preserves the evidence. Orablock can also be used to locate "stale" data - i.e. data that has been deleted or updated. It can also be used to dump SCNs for data blocks which can be useful during the examination of a compromised Oracle box.

In 2006 there were 335 publicized breaches in the U.S.; in 2005 there were 116 publicized breaches; between 1st January and March 31st of 2007, a 90 day period, there have been 85 breaches publicized. There are 0 (zero) database-specific forensic analysis and incident response tools, commercial or free, available to computer crime investigators. Indeed, until very recently, there was pretty much no useful information out that could help. By delving into the guts of an Oracle database's data files and redo logs, this talk will examine where the evidence can be found in the event of a database compromise and show how to extract this information to show who did what, when. The presentation will begin with a demonstration of a complete compromise via a SQL injection attack in an Oracle web application server and then performing an autopsy. The talk will finish by introducing an open source tool called the Forensic Examiner's Database Scalpel (F.E.D.S.).
