This week on Seeing Red, we cover the case of Louise Porton, who murdered her two young children and tried to pass their deaths off as tragic accidents. What followed was a web of lies, attention-seeking, and chilling indifference that slowly unravelled under medical scrutiny. As suspicion grew, the story Porton told the world collapsed — revealing a calculated killer hiding behind the image of a grieving mother. On Boxing Day 1996, David Spencer (11) and Patrick Warren (13) were out in Chelmsley Wood. They stayed out all night. They were last seen alive in the early hours of 27 December. They never came home. No confirmed crime scene. No bodies. No explanation that holds. This episode of Seeing Red follows what little is known, what was missed, and what people living on that estate have had to sit with for nearly thirty years. Because two children didn't disappear into thin air. And someone knows why they didn't make it back. This week on Seeing Red, Bethan tells the stories of Owen Dunn and Daniel Baird — two young men killed in separate knife attacks, years apart, but bound by the same devastating reality. Bethan explores the circumstances surrounding their deaths and the unimaginable aftermath faced by the families left behind. But this episode isn't just about loss — it's about what came next. From grief came action. Owen and Daniel's families channelled their anger and heartbreak into foundations set up in their sons' names, determined to reduce knife crime and protect other families from experiencing the same pain. Their legacies now stand in direct opposition to the violence that took them. This is a difficult listen — but an essential one — about accountability, prevention, and the power of refusing to let a life be defined by the way it ended. Famous last words are not always as glamorous as they seem, but Hollywood and historians sometimes take liberties with a well-known person's final utterance by making death a dramatic experience. When people die, their bodies slowly shut down, one system at a time, eventually halting the mechanisms that facilitate speech. By the time they experience delirium, many are also robbed of their ability to speak. Some doctors have stated that even after a patient is beyond saving or declared dead, the brain may still be able to register acts of love and kindness, as well as the heartfelt goodbyes given at the time. >> Lucrecia Dalt – A Danger To Ourselves (RVNG. Intl.) I've got a bit of an interesting one for you today. I'm speaking with Adam from Grave Line tours in LA.We do go into lots of detail in the ep but basically it's a murder tour. And it's one of those things which I feel a bit weird about… But a the same time, I consume true crime content. So it's a bit of a funny one, and we do speak about the ethics of running this sort of business, but I'll tell you what – Adam really knows his stuff, and these tours are more than just gory moments – it's the history of one of the most interesting cities on the planet. Now you've probably already clocked it, we are speaking about some pretty heavy and graphic topics, if you're not feeling up to it, maybe save this episode for another time.I really enjoyed this conversation, and I hope you do to…. In episode 726, we find out the crazy connection between Wordle and one of our favorite documentaries. We question why so many people are buried alive, and suggest putting in some safeguards so we don't have any more zombie funerals. We lose our minds about the fact that neither one of us is listed among the famous alumni of our schools, but some bozo who was on an episode of the Voice and a celebrity's assistant made the cut. Hear some of the worst jobs we've had to take--we're talking recently here--and why we never stop hustling. We learn about "beige flags" and discuss some of our own as well as those of our partners. We realized we're pretty weird, and frankly, we should be glad we found people to live with us. We took a moment to say thank you to books. And we hear why more parents are getting involved in their adult kids' careers, and we are not happy about it.Join our book club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/braincandypodSusie's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/susie_meisterSarah's Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/ImSarahRiceSponsors:Go to https://www.greenchef.com/braincandy50 and use code: braincandy50 to get 50% off plus free shipping!Get an exclusive 20% off your first order when you visit https://thrivecausemetics.com/braincandyThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Hey Everyone! It's Bridget Marquardt here with a brand new episode of Ghost Magnet! Todays guest is Janice Oberding. Janice Oberding as seen on History Channel, Travel Channel, Syfy Channel, Discovery+, Living TV, Fox Family; she was instrumental in getting two/four productions (Great Britain) to come to Nevada to film several episodes of the TV series Dead Famous with Gail Porter and Chris Fleming. Recently she was interviewed about Virginia City ghosts and history for the YouTube channel show Sam and Colby. In the summer of 2005, news headlines were dominated with the death of Pope John Paull II, Tony Blair winning a third term and the very strange case of Natalee Holloway. (So strange in fact, that a Malliard Report known Irish podcast featured an episode on it) Natalee went missing in Aruba after a high-school graduation trip, under very peculiar circumstances and her case was eventually closed in 2012 with no “official” explanation. The case has garnered the attention of many different true crime outlets, investigators, and today's guest. This week Jim welcomes to the show psychic profiler and medium Carla Baron to the show. “Carla became known throughout the globe for her real-life portrayal of a psychic crime fighter, starring in the hit TruTV (formally Court TV) series, “Haunting Evidence,” now in worldwide syndication. Ms. Baron appeared on several episodes of Biography's “Dead Famous.” Her work as a psychic profiler was highlighted on ABC's “Primetime,” and 20/20 for WE. MTV's FEAR was Carla's premiere foray into the paranormal, traveling all over the world on location, filming their documentary segments as official psychic for the haunting reality series. Today, Carla continues to work on cases that strike some sort of personal chord for her. Ms. Baron offers her assistance (pro bono) when accepting missing persons/ murder/ crime cases on an official basis.” Carla is an exciting guest and certainly will be welcomed back so as to share the many experiences and insight that she has. To follow Carla or to reach out to her for your own session, head over to her website carlabaron.net. Remember that listening to The Malliard report is only a small portion of what is available. Head over to malliard.com where you will find past episodes, merch, the live chat every Tuesday night (9 PM EST) and so much more. Remember to rate and subscribe on your favorite podcast app! This week on BTE Radio Shocktober continues as we head west to California to a house so Haunted it's been considered one of the most haunted homes in America and has been featured on Most Haunted, Dead Famous and Ghost Adventures. We're in for a real treat this week as Eric and Marie go behind the doors of the infamous Oman House with owner David Oman. In the first half hour we're joined by Shawn and Marianne Donley of Dark Shadow Ghost Tours and Panic'D for another episode of the Haunted Spotlight. At 8:30 we open the doors and head inside the Oman House with owner David Oman. David Oman attended both Menlo College in College in Northern California and USC. While working as a page for ABC, he helped a friend subpoena which led him into a 12-year career as a private investigator. Picking up the entrepreneur gene from his father and the business acumen from his mother, David left his business in 1988 to open a restaurant. He used his experience to produce a video entitled, “The Original Bachelor's Barbecue Show. After a stint as an executive responsible for developing studio connections for the first wave of video demand services, David started helping his father build a house on Cielo Drive. This house would become the house featured prominently in the movie, “House at the End of the Drive, in which David is the Producer, Creature and Co-Writer. The Oman house has been called one of the most active haunted houses in America and has been featured on TV Shows Ghost Hunters, My Ghost Story, Paranormal Witness, Haunted History, Ghost Adventures, and Ghost Adventures Aftershocks. The house was built in 1999 by David and his father and completed in 2002. It is wildly haunted and has been called by Parapsychologist Barry Taft as “The Mount Everest of Haunted Houses” and “The Disneyland for the Dead” due to the elevated DC EMF Levels present there 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. What makes the house so unique is that when people visit the home the spirits that area around everyone become active when you enter. The house sits in Beverly Hills, just north of famous Sunset Boulevard down the private drive from the Sharon Tate Murders of August 9th, 1969 at the hand of Charles Manson and his “Family.” You can learn more about David, the Oman House, his films and projects by visiting the following websites and links: www.theomanhouse.com https://www.facebook.com/davidoman1969?fref=ts https://www.youtube.com/user/davidoman http://www.dewittmurders.com/overview.html So join us this week as welcome David Oman and discuss his home, the “Oman House” and the hauntings and activity that occur in his house as Shocktober continues this week on BTE Radio!

The paranormal field is filled with people who call themselves "experts," but these two are the real deal. Mark and Debby Constantino are a husband and wife team who have made a name for themselves with their work with EVP (electronic voice phenomenon). The Constantinos are paranormal researchers who have pioneered the study of afterlife communication using EVP. They are the "go-to" couple when it comes to capturing and recording spirit voices with audio recording devices. Mark is a certified parapsychologist and Debby is a multi-faceted sensitive, with the ability to see, hear, and feel spirits. The couple is often called upon to assist investigators, and they have worked with the most well respected people in the paranormal field. They have been featured on countless radio and television programs including Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Challenge, Paranormal State, and Dead Famous. The Constantinos work requires them to travel all around the country speaking at paranormal conferences and gatherings. They demonstrate interactive real time communication techniques, allowing others to actively participate in speaking with the dead. The Constantinos view their work as a tool that can allow us to reach our loved ones, and provide closure for the living as well as the dead. I have had the pleasure of seeing this dynamic couple in action at one of America's Most Haunted locations (Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield) and was blown away by the consistency and accuracy of their EVPs. It is a great pleasure to welcome the paranormal's most intriguing Mr. and Mrs: Mark and Debby Constantino!
