This is the 2nd podcast of the year, if I can get these things out at least once a month I will call it a win for now. I went on a buying spree, which has nothing to do with my running. Well not directly, 1st I got a new phone at the end of last year (which I have started to use for recording the podcast) I am using the Hindenburg field recorder app on my iPhone because it will load directly into my Hindenburg Journalist software on my Mac. My new Mac just arrived on the 22nd of February. That was actually my 3rd purchase. My second purchase was a new Apple Watch series 4.  I didn’t think that the Apple Watch would be as practical for running as my Garmin, but I found an app called iSmoothRun. That app is great, I can make customized runs just as I could with my Garmin and the app will send all the information to any other running program that I use, such as STRAVA. The only drawback that the Apple Watch has that I have found so far is the battery. I can get one good day out of a charge, I don’t think I can get any more out of it. If I turned off certain functions such as heart rate it would probably last longer, but I didn’t buy it to not use the functions that it has. Why buy something and then turn everything off that uses battery, might as well have a plain old wrist watch.  I just completed my schedule for the first part of the year. I have 3 races planned, they are all 3 trail races and short in distance. I have one planned for March 9th A 2nd planned for May 4th And the 3rd planned for June 15th The longest trail race is only 4.3 miles, so you can see when I say short I mean short. Peachtree is always on my list of races and this year will be my 40th Peachtree. Well this February we have had the coldest (in the 20s) and the warmest (in the high 70s) so far this winter. Recorded on an iPhone Xs using the Hindenburg Field Recorder app. Edited on Hindenburg Journalist software. When you look up on Christmas Eve and see a shape streaking across the night sky above the Failed Cities, it’s not Santa’s sleigh, it’s death incarnate, also known as Ferus… *** Written by Matt Wallace Narrated by Neil Stringer Music Abney Park Rudolf http://www.abneypark.com Digital Juice http://www.digitaljuice.com Neil Stringer Promo The Failed Cities Monologues http://www.podiobooks.com/title/the-failed-cities-monologues/ *** […]

Sterne, the hardboiled wordslinger, doesn’t believe in Christmas stories. He’d certainly never write such a tale. New Story - Medicop on Nobilis Erotica

Okay, so my idea of blogging more than once a month hasn't seen fruition. It's that work thing. I also want to give you more content than "what I had for breakfast this morning" (turkey leftovers) and "what I did on my Thanksgiving weekend". Well, actually, that was pretty interesting. The opportunity to write and podcast the story to which the title refers came about more by accident than design - (see the September blog). Basically, Nobilis, of the Nobilis Erotica podcast, asked the four of us in a chat room one night if we would sub for him for an episode in November while he devoted his time to his NaNoRiMo novel. BTW, he finished it today. Congrats, Nobilis!I haven't written much in science fiction or erotica, but thought, "hell, why not?" Nobilis has a large audience and it would help get my name out there for when I *eventually* podcast my novel. Thanks to Nobilis, his wife, Dee, and Michelle Bekemeyer for giving me some feedback on the story. The writing part was easier than I thought ...Then, I found out I have  an obsession. Anyone that has music or sound effects disc from Digital Juice will know what I mean. I decided to fancy up the audio with a few sounds effects ... then a few more ... then a little music .... the next thing I know, I was 24 hours into this production of a very short story and it was starting to sound like Metamor City. Oh well, it was fun and it advanced my learning curve on Audacity. My voice sounded a little like I was on the leading edge of a cold ... it was. So, forgive me for that ... if you even notice my voice, that it.Anyway, it is what it is and it will be out there within an hour of my writing this. I'll post it here as well. Let me know what you think? I'm going back to the novel now .....Link to Medicop Sam
