Discussing "With Christ! The New Paradigm of Easter Joy"Ephesians 2:1-10Rev. Craig LuekensOriginally recorded on 4.6.26visit cpcnewhaven.org
Happy Easter! Yesterday, in church, you and I also heard the wonderful news. Unlike the disciples, we have the blessing of knowing what the disciples would soon discover. Jesus had risen from the dead. Nevertheless, staring into the empty tomb, they didn't fully appreciate the magnitude of what it meant that the tomb was empty. But, as remarkable as it may sound, neither do a many Christians today. And they're missing out on tremendous comfort that our Savior wants us all to have. It's makes all the difference when you visit the cemetery. With sins forgiven and death defeated we have everlasting life with God right now. But there's more, much more! And Jesus wants you to know it.

Easter Sunday is a before and after earthquake day: Jesus is raised from the dead! That resurrection earthquake releases grace, forgiveness, joy, and life everlasting into the world He calls us to leave behind old things sorrow, pain, sin, pride, anxiety, anger, and even merely temporary happiness to get swept up into his resurrection - resilient joy.
The Resurrection of Our Lord - Easter Day
Lent is over and with it comes the expectation of Easter Joy. Holy Saturday invites us to anticipate the joy and wonder of the Resurrection of Jesus. The Resurrection is a powerful reality that continues to give life and joy to the world and especially the Church.
ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!! CHRISTUS RESURREXIT, RESURREXIT VERES ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!! CHRIST IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!"Let everyone share this feast of faith; let everyone enjoy the riches of goodness. Let none lament their poverty; for the universal kingdom has been revealed. Let none mourn their sins; for forgiveness has dawned from the grave. Let none fear death; for the Saviour's death has set us free"- St John ChrysostomWelcome to this week's C&SI podcast on this Easter Sunday. Blessed Eastertide to all our listeners from the C&SI team!On this week's programme we are delighted to welcome back Noirin Lynch, Director of FCJ Spirituality House, Teach Spiorodáltathe in Spanish Point, Co Clare to reflect on Easter Joy in a world gone mad. Noirin reminds us that Easter is not either about stopping in the paid of Good Friday nor at the same time running into the Alleluia's but more a reminder to us that Easter Joy is the confidence that no matter what, we are in God's hands. Jesus walked towards the hard stuff – he came down from Tabor and proceeded to Jerusalem and ultimately to Calvary. He stayed and we are also called to stay in solidarity and accompany people in their real lived experiences. The Kingdom of Heaven is not just a theory for the next life but a call to hope now. Our Easter Joy is a protest against despair in a world that might seem to have gone mad. In part 1 we have a brief view of the up coming Easter Week and the Octave that we are about to celebrate liturgically as well as some papal odds and ends. In part 3, we reflect on Matthew's account of Easter Morning (Matthew 28:1-10) and the encounter of the Women with the Angels and the Empty Tomb; asking ourselves the question like the women, who is it we are seeking? And do we sometimes forget to leave behind the empty tomb and go out into the world, reminding ourselves not to be afraid!Text us at +353 874668950 or email at comeandseeinspirtaions@gmail.com

The Easter season is about new life. Jesus rises from the dead and in so doing resets the horizon on what is possible for each and every one of us. We see in the risen Lord God's own invitation, an invitation that calls us beyond ourselves, beyond what even dreamed was possible. Ignatian spirituality offers us time-tested tools to embark on this journey. Ignatius himself was not only a soldier-turned-saint; he was a strategic thinker, an administrator of a global company. He knew that what he offered for the spiritual life had to be both scaled up to meet needs across the world while being relevant to the unique needs and experiences of each and every person. So, how do we respond to the call of this Easter season? How do we embark on our own journey of renewal and deepening faith? Let's look to the Ignatian tradition. Today's guest is author Lisa Kelly. She is a wife and mother of four, the co-director of the nonprofit La Storta: Center for Spirituality and Leadership and the author of the new book, “The Spiritual Path: Embarking on the Journey of a Lifetime.” Lisa has written at the intersection of strategic planning, organizational development, leadership training and Ignatian spirituality for years, so she comes to us with deep wisdom on how to set faith-based goals that result in meaningful, mission-oriented action. And she challenges us to reassess what success looks like in our lives. This is a really fun conversation—and super informative. Lisa helps us think in new ways about our own lives, and helps us ferret out some unhealthy spiritualities of desolation in which we may unknowingly be trapped. Lisa is also an Ignatian Associate—an organization of lay Catholics who are grounded in Ignatian spirituality and make promises in that tradition. We begin our conversation there, talking about why the Ignatian Associates have been so important to Lisa's own spiritual path. From Silence to Glory: The Mystery of Easter This Homily reflects on the liturgy of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, . . . . . . emphasizing how Scripture readings during the Easter vigil narrate the entire history of God's love for humanity. It traces the journey from creation and fall, through the Exodus, prophetic calls to return to God, and finally to the New Testament, culminating in Christ's death and resurrection. A Theological Insight A significant theological insight is given about Holy Saturday—often overlooked—as the most mysterious moment, where God, through Jesus, enters death and silence. Jesus, though sinless, experiences death, breaking its power. His resurrection becomes the ultimate hope and promises for all baptized believers, affirming God's presence even in suffering and death. The Homily encourages joy, hope, and gratitude in the Easter celebration. Listen to this Meditation Media. Listen to: From Silence to Glory: The Mystery of Easter ---------------------------------- For those that visit the QoAH's website for this post, you'll see a restored statue. Regina Caeli, the Queen of Heaven, and the Lady of Easter Joy Allow me to introduce you to a cherished figure in our community. This statue has been with us for ten years, originally hand-carved in Peru. She is traditionally adorned for various feast days and holds a special place in our celebrations. However, over time, the paint had deteriorated to such an extent that even the slightest contact would cause it to flake away. A few weeks ago, we made the decision to send her for professional restoration, with the hope that she would return in time for Easter—and we are pleased to say she did. She now stands before us with a beautifully restored appearance, complete with a new halo and freshly painted garments. We now honor her as Regina Caeli, the Queen of Heaven, and the Lady of Easter Joy.
What a mess. Not only had Jesus been tragically taken from those who so dearly loved him. Not only had he suffered so terrible at the hands of the authorities that had been called by God to serve and protect the innocent. Not only had Jesus been crucified, mocked and forsaken by God. But now they can't even properly grieve his death.
Both Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of John reveal how the Risen Lord directs us to holy action that transforms our lives and reaches out to others. (Lectionary #262) April 22, 2025 - Cathedral Rectory - Superior, WI Fr. Andrew Ricci - www.studyprayserve.com

In this bonus episode, Brian and Joe share stories of Easter joy. After a season dedicated to Lenten themes, this bonus episode shares moments of joy that break through even the most challenging moments of life, like a migrant journey. Brian recounts a recent trip to St. Louis, where he became travel partners with Oscar, a Honduran migrant who had lived at Casa del Migrante in Reynosa for months. They decided to surprise Oscar's family when they got to St. Louis, and the plan came together perfectly. Joe tells the story of Marta and her five daughters, who waited for their CBP One appointment for eight long months. When Brian and Joe weren't able to give them a proper send-off before their appointment with immigration, they made a plan to surprise them as they finished their appointment and walked into the U.S. There were shouts of joy, tears, and (of course) a trip to McDonald's. The big question was: would the ice cream machine be working??

Easter Joy (Luke 24:36-49, John 20:19-23) - Evening Sermon
Following Peter's speech, the crowd is cut to the heart and asks what they must do. Peter's response to repent, be baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit inspires us to live our faith with an ongoing conversion of heart as the Spirit guides us throughout our lives. Pope Benedict XVI wrote, "At Easter we rejoice because Christ did not remain in the tomb, his body did not see corruption; he belongs to the world of the living, not to the world of the dead; we rejoice because he is the Alpha and also the Omega, as we proclaim in the rite of the Paschal Candle; he lives not only yesterday, but today and for eternity." Theologian Dr. Jeremy Holmes shares his insights about the risen Christ as we celebrate the Octave of Easter.
Chances are good that a few days ago on Good Friday you may have sung that enduring hymn, “Were You There?” It comes with that familiar refrain, “Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.” On Easter morning, as the women left the empty tomb they found themselves trembling ... with joy! The good news is that Jesus is risen and He is here. He is here with us this very day, and with all the Easter blessings that come with having a living Savior.
This script is a devotional message emphasizing the importance of Jesus Christ's resurrection for the Christian faith. It discusses how without Christ's resurrection, Christianity would lack its foundation. The speaker encourages listeners to follow along with their Bibles as he cites various biblical passages to illustrate how Jesus's followers initially doubted and forgot his teachings, including his prophecy of resurrection. The speaker recounts the story of the disciples on the Emmaus road, Thomas's doubt, and brings in the narrative of the empty tomb and the eyewitnesses who saw the risen Christ. Through these stories, he highlights how the resurrection was a pivotal event that transformed disbelief into faith among Jesus's followers. The message concludes with a prayer, thanking God for Jesus's sacrifice and asking for blessings on the listeners and the spreading of the message. 00:00 Opening Blessings and Introduction to the Devotion 00:24 Celebrating the Resurrection: 'Because He Lives' 01:32 Reflecting on Doubt and Memory in the Disciples' Journey 03:03 The Emmaus Road: A Tale of Recognition and Faith 05:47 Thomas's Doubt and the Power of Belief 08:05 The Significance of the Resurrection for Believers 09:26 The Resurrection: Core of Christian Faith and Hope 10:29 Eyewitnesses Affirm the Living Christ 11:56 The Gospel's Power and Our Living Hope 13:03 Closing Prayer and Blessings --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message

Feel the heavy shroud of their silence and sorrow with me, your guide for today's contemplative journey. Together, we'll explore the biblical references to this day in an episode enriched by Margaret Feinberg's insights, revealing the raw emotions that followed the crucifixion. Their confusion and grief, laced with creeping doubt, paint a somber and intimate picture of anticipation for the joy we know is coming. This Holy Saturday, the silence speaks volumes as we piece together the disciples' experience and find comfort in the reassurances Jesus offered them prior to his crucifixion. The episode doesn't just recount a tale of despair; it's a reminder that even in the absence of words, hope can germinate in the darkest of times. Let's honor the quietude of this day by recognizing the profound message it holds — that joy, indeed, can emerge from the deepest sorrows, as we prepare to embrace the triumphant celebration that Easter Sunday promises.Blog read: https://margaretfeinberg.com/holy-week-the-silence-of-saturday/ Now get out into the world and be a woman who intentionally encourages another! #women #podcast

Happy Easter everyone! (we're Catholic, and so was Tolkien, so it's still Easter...) In this episode, we read Samwise's astonished awakening in The Field of Cormallen after the destruction of the One Ring, and discuss how it relates to the overwhelming joy of Easter. “The Resurrection was the greatest ‘eucatastrophe' possible in the greatest Fairy Story – and produces that essential emotion: Christian joy which produces tears because it is qualitatively so like sorrow, because it comes from those places where Joy and Sorrow are at one, reconciled, as selfishness and altruism are lost in Love.” ~ J.R.R.
