One of the best episodes of ECW Hardcore TV took place on June 6th, 1997! ECW Wrestlepalooza 1997 just happened and we are looking at 3 matches from that show. First, Tommy Dreamer and Raven have their final battle as Raven is about to head to WCW! This match was significant as Tommy had never beat Raven in a match. After the match was over Jerry Lawler invaded, alongside RVD and Sabu, and they beat up everyone from the locker room until Taz came out. Taz then challenged Sabu to a match and it's going to happen right now. Following that match, Shane Douglas got on the microphone and a 3 minute challenge match was going to happen. Taz had 3 minutes to defeat Shane Douglas and if he did so, he would become the new ECW TV Champion. This show flowed seamlessly and it's probably one of the greatest episodes of ECW Hardcore TV ever produced! Plus, the boys go to WWE 2K25 Creator Fest and play the game early!⦁ Deadlock Discord: https://discord.gg/E4BvR4W⦁ Deadlock Shop: https://shop.deadlockpw.com⦁ Deadlock Patreon: https://patreon.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Twitter: https://twitter.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Instagram: https://instagram.com/deadlockwrestling⦁ Deadlock Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Pro Wrestling: http://deadlockpro.com

The 25th anniversary of the show just passed and it has arguably the greatest hour of pro wrestling angles over the last quarter century. Paul Heyman, the former owner of ECW about the crazy hijinks in the ECW Arena on June 6th, 1997, “If I had to show one hour of ECW to somebody who had never seen ECW before, that is the hour I would show them to express what we are all about.”There are many correlations with AEW and what is doing in today's pro wrestling landscape that was being created in ECW from 1995-1998. We tackle all of the pertinent angles and happenings from Wrestlepalooza 97 and put a spin on a few of the current ongoings in AEW.Can anyone generate as much heat as Jerry Lawler did in the ECW Arena on this faithful night? The origin of the "lights out" gimmick.Just how much has Tony Khan borrowed from the glory days of ECW?!You can find Kyle at https://twitter.com/TRPKyle, his work with the Squared Circle Gazette podcasthttps://open.spotify.com/show/7aCyanWnSWIWm066BwfH0U https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/squared-circle-gazette-radio/id892060223https://www.topropenation.com/https://twitter.com/TopRopeNationhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/290971494637440/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=1423548164713095 https://www.youtube.com/c/TopRopeNationLastly, Top Rope Nations incredible Patreon page with bonus shows and content at https://www.patreon.com/topropenationhttps://twitter.com/wrestlinguanduYou can find Jesse at https://twitter.com/JesseCVelasquezhttps://dailyddt.com/2022/03/03/cm-punk-vs-mjf-interesting-feud-aew-revolution/You can catch the podcast episodes on every major platform on the interwebs!! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/wrestling-unplugged-and-undeniable/id1552908782 https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuc3ByZWFrZXIuY29tL3Nob3cvNDU2MjIxOS9lcGlzb2Rlcy9mZWVkhttps://open.spotify.com/show/0bpy39GByCRGSiychZ7OC4
Originally recorded May 2021. The guys dive deep into Extreme Championship Wrestling's Wrestlepalooza '98, which took place May 3, 1998 at the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia. We also include the unedited audio of Douglas' shoot promo before Taz comes out to confront him. It was... wild. The card: • The bWo (The Blue Meanie and Super Nova) vs. The F.B.I. ECW was always the "wild west" of professional wrestling. The Marks (Troy & Greg) were not fans, but they're expanding their horizons by covering this one. Rob Van Dam and Sabu (both clients of Bill Alfonso) were feuding over the TV Title. The Dudley Boyz took on Tommy Dreamer and Sandman (who was wrestling with a neck injury). Bam Bam Bigelow and New Jack brawled all over the arena. Closing the show, Al Snow gets his shot at the ECW World Heavyweight Title against Shane Douglas, who is wrestling with a laundry list of injuries. This was Al Snow's final appearance in ECW before hopping over the WWF, so he tried to make it special. In the news, we talk about DX "invading" WCW Nitro, the ratings wars continuing, what's going on in Japan and Mexico, and much more!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

The Outlaws are back and they're EXTREEEEEEME again!!! It's ECW's second PPV of 1998, down in the home of the Big Boss Man - Cobb County, Georgia. We're disappointed by the overbooking going on here as Paul E seems to be trying his hardest to get The Franchise Shane Douglas even more over than he already is. We get a fun tag team match as the champions Chris Candido and Lance Storm take on Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten. Tracy Smothers is back in action with the FBI against the BWO, Mikey Whipwreck looks to take revenge against Justin Credible, Sabu and RVD go 30 minutes for the TV title and New Jack bleeds like a stuck pig for Bam Bam! Follows the Outlaws: On instagram at https://www.instagram.com/outlawspod/
Join Sarah, Bryan, and Orlando as we revisit a classic ECW PPV from 1998. Wresling Palooza '98. We go over this match by match, rate, review and ask if it holds up? Did Sarah like her first ECW PPV? Did Cagematch users get this rating wrong. Come join us for a blast from the past.

Conrad and Tony take you back to the Marietta (GA) Civic Center to May 3, 1998 and one of the most panned ECW Pay Per View broadcasts ever. From Bam Bam Bigelow having to work with New Jack, who had knocked himself out cold, to the terrible stunt show from Sabu and RVD, to the messed up finish between Al Snow and Shane Douglas, this one was a stinker. But at least there were the likes of Francine, Taz (a cameo only), Tommy Dreamer, Chris Candido, Lance Storm and Justin Credible. Other than that this one was a May to Forget for ECW.
