With December to Dismember on the horizon, Paul Heyman looks to further ensue his ECW Champion, The Big Show, remains the champion. After his gorilla costume stunt last week, Heyman trots out with the gorilla mask as a reminder to RVD that he's the one in control. Then Heyman teams with The Big Show to take on the team of RVD and Hardcore Holly in the Main Event. There's a pair of Extreme Elimination Chamber qualifying matches with CM Punk vs Mike Knox and Tommy Dreamer vs Test determining two more spots in the first-of-it's-kind match. The most controversial night in ECW history happened on the October 29th, 1996 episode of Hardcore TV. Coming from ECW High Incident 1996, this episode features one of the biggest and maybe worst moments of all time. Not only that, but Kurt Angle makes his one and only ECW appearance. This was before he was even a pro wrestler. ECW was trying to get him to join the company so they had him make an in-ring appearance and then do commentary for Taz vs Little Guido. After that it looked like Kurt was going to have a program with Taz. That was until the incident happened. After The Sandman successfully defended his title against 2 Cold Scorpio, Raven returned from injury. It looked as if the Sandman's son was going to join back with his dad; he previously left to join Raven. However, Raven surprised everyone and hit Sandman with a Singapore cane! That is where the episode leaves us. In reality, that was not the end. Raven, Steve Richards, and The Blue Meanie, brought out a cross and crucified a bloody and battered Sandman! They hoisted him up and put a barbed wire “crown of thorns" on his head! This moment was so controversial that ECW couldn't air it or Kurt Angle would sue them! He never made another appearance for ECW again. All this and more from ECW High Incident. For an ECW, we've done way worse and we WILL DO way worse. This one actually wasn't that bad. There were, per usual, a lot of very questional booking decisions. There were also some God awful matches and the usual ECW tropes. However, those weren't enough to drag this show down to the depths of usual ECW pay-per-views. Taz was supposed to wrestle Chris Candido in the main event, but that didn't happen because Candido and Tammy were leaving, so Heyman wanted to squash him early. So, instead, we get a thread with the Dudley Boys all night, taking out randos and then trying to take out Taz. Besides that, we got possibly the greatest RVD vs. Jerry Lynn match ever, Little Guido taking on Yoshihiro Tajiri, a special appearance by Sid, and much more! With Rob Van Dam picking up an injury that would keep him out of action for months, he was forced to vacate the ECW Television Title after a record setting 23 months. At Living Dangerously 2000, ECW were looking to fill that vacancy with the semi-finals and finals of the tournament to crown a new champion, involving Rhyno, Sandman, Super Crazy and Little Guido. In addition, the show would also play host to one of the most dangerous stunts in the history of the company as New Jack and Vic Grimes took 'Living Dangerously' to a whole new, literal meaning, and the ECW Tag Titles were up for grabs in a 3-way dance featuirng Mike Awesome & Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer and Masato Tanaka vs. The Impact Players. Thanks go out to our good friend Tina Gant who got Tracy back on for us. There are certain names that remind wrestling fans of certain territories or promotions. When it comes to wrestling in the South, the name of Tracy Smothers, much like his contemporaries Tommy "Wildfire" Rich, "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, Ole and Arn Anderson, makes you think of a time when cable TV was young and wrestling fans were being exposed to wrestling in different areas of the country and certain regional promotions started to go national. Tracy is probably best known to fans as one half of The Wild Eyed Southern Boys with Steve Armstrong. Tracy and Steve wrestled in various promotions throughout the South. Tracy also was the inaugural Smoky Mountain Wrestling Beat The Champ Television Champion and was part of the faction called The THUGS. After a short sint in the then WWF Tracy moved to Paul Heyman's ECW where he became the leader of The Full Blooded Italians, with the joke being that only one member of the team, Little Guido was in fact actually Italian. Tracy has also run several wrestling schools where he trains and guides the next generation of the business. We are happy to bring Tracy back to our airwaves and hope you will enjoy hearing from this great star.

On this episode of The Pro Wrasslin Reflection… The year is 2006 and WWE acquired the rights to Extreme Championship Wrestling's trademarks and video library in 2003 and later began reintroducing ECW through content from the ECW library and a series of books, which included the release of The Rise and Fall of ECW documentary. The enormous popularity of ECW merchandise prompted WWE to organize ECW One Night Stand, an ECW reunion pay-per-view in 2005. The financial and critical success of the event motivated WWE to organize a second One Night Stand the following year. With rejuvenated interest in the ECW product, WWE began exploring the possibility of reviving the promotion full-time. The news that WWE was planning to bring back ECW was leaked in the middle of April as Vince McMahon decided to revive ECW as a full-time brand. Reports beforehand stated that WWE was prepared to bring back ECW immediately after WrestleMania 22.
