Wrestling Tonight is back with Episode 112, and it's packed with everything from title changes to legal drama that could change the landscape of wrestling. AEW Grand Slam in Australia delivered some huge moments. Toni Storm reclaimed the AEW Women's World Championship from Mariah May in an emotional match. Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay teamed up to defeat Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher in a hard-hitting tag match, building excitement for what's coming at Revolution. Okada picked up another win, but it's now clear the question is: What's next for him program-wise? Over in WWE, NXT Vengeance Day kept the momentum rolling for the brand. Oba Femi defended his NXT Championship in a chaotic triple-threat match against Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. Giulia successfully retained her NXT Women's Championship, while Stephanie Vaquer took the NXT North American Championship, setting the stage for some exciting rivalries. And a new faction made a big impact, teasing what's next for the brand. In New Japan, Hirooki Goto made history by defeating Zack Sabre Jr. to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Goto's victory is a surprising moment, marking a major shift for NJPW, and all eyes are on how his reign will unfold. Meanwhile, the legal battle surrounding Vince McMahon continues to heat up. A federal appeals court ruled that McMahon's lawyer wrongly withheld documents related to hush money payments that were concealed from WWE's auditors. While McMahon's team claims that the Department of Justice's criminal investigation is over with no charges expected, his legal troubles aren't done. Civil lawsuits are still piling up, including new allegations from Janel Grant. And while Vince's legal drama intensifies, Linda McMahon faced tough questioning during her confirmation hearing for Secretary of Education. She was pressed on how she would uphold integrity while her controversial past, including the ring boy scandal, looms large. Her answers could have major implications moving forward. We also dive into potential WWE Hall of Fame inductees, updates on TNA, and early talk about what's shaping up for WrestleMania 41. Let us know what caught your attention this week! Kris and David are joined by Robert O'Connor (@ghostofquinones) to discuss the week that was October 30-November 5, 2003. Topics of discussion include:Teddy Hart going completely nuts at the 11/1 Ring of Honor show in Elizabeth, NJ and taking over the wrestling internet with his antics. We talk about the show itself — which gets forgotten because of Teddy and the aftermath, despite some great matches — plus all of the fallout, including Teddy's “open letter” apology and CM Punk burying Teddy on his LiveJournal blog.A wacky NWA-TNA PPV featuring the announcement of Lex Luger coming in, Raven getting some "revenge" on Jim Mitchell, and lots more TNA goodness.Hiroyoshi Tenzan finally winning the IWGP Heavyweight Title in New Japan on a weird show in Yokohama.NOAH's 11/1 Budokan show, featuring Shiro Koshinaka making his surprise debut and Kenta Kobashi defending the GHC World Heavyweight Title against Yoshinari Ogawa.Michinoku Pro's 10th anniversary show featuring Bob Sapp.Randy Savage's rap album flopping hard. Two completely insane segments featuring Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman on SmackDown.WWE calling Matt Morgan up from OVW at a time where way too many big guys were called up at once and devalued each other as a result.Raw is Degrassi, with the key Canadian talent showing off their ACTING~! skills. That's just a taste of the greatness on this show, and of course O'Connor delivers the content as always, so LISTEN NOW!!Timestamps:0:00:00 ROH1:21:47 NWA-TNA2:20:35 Int'l: NJPW, NOAH, World Japan, Zero-One, Michinoku Pro, Toryumon, NEO Ladies, AAA, CMLL, Monterrey, Tijuana, & IWAPR3:08:12 Classic Commercial Break3:12:20 Halftime4:07:01 Other USA: NWA Wildside, Hawk Memorial Show, PWG, Randy Savage, & John Todd Miller4:25:25 WWETo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. Kris & David are joined by Vera Thoris (@StillYourGhost) to discuss the week-plus that was August 25th-September 3rd, 1997, which was Vera's pick using the $50 tier on our Patreon (linked below the description). Vera was able to sit in on the WCW section, where we talked about the Arn Anderson retirement saga, as we covered both relevant episodes of Nitro, which featured Arn's retirement speech and the nWo parody of it a week later. This was definitely an explosive time for WCW, both on TV and behind the scenes, so you definitely don't want to miss that. We also talk about Akira Maeda making a shocking appearance in New Japan to congratulate Riki Choshu on his "retirement,” plus Kensuke Sasaki winning the IWGP Heavyweight Title for the first time on the same show. We also talk about a wild meeting between Eric Bischoff, Konnan, & Paco Alonso that caused all kinds of hell in Mexico thanks to Victor Quinones, the final live USWA TV show on WMC, and, of course, the WWF, featuring a rare Friday night show during the U.S. Open, which was branded as Friday Night's Main Event, and so much more. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, August 18, 2021. This update is brought to you by the Wrestling Mayhem Show. Check out the new episode right now wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan confirmed two of its wrestlers - IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi and BUSHI - have tested positive for COVID-19. Both were pulled from shows starting Sunday, after they were found to have fevers. New Japan said “their fevers went down” and they're not getting any worse. Both are isolating and receiving treatment. Six other New Japan wrestlers were pulled from shows on Monday and Tuesday due to their contact with Takagi and BUSHI: Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, Gedo, and Dick Togo. New Japan did not comment on their statuses. New Japan's next show in Japan is next Tuesday. A card for that show has yet to be announced. Takagi is scheduled to defend the IWGP Heavyweight Title at the Wrestle Grand Slam show on September 5th. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru are the winners of this year's Super Junior Tag League. They secured victory by beating the Jr. Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo on Tuesday's show...and they now want a shot at the titles. (STINGER: AEW) City leaders in Chicago announced Tuesday that they're reinstituting a mask mandate, starting Friday. This is in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases...and covers all indoor public spaces, regardless of an individual's vaccination status. That includes Friday night's AEW Rampage show at the United Center. The AEW Tag Titles are on the line on tonight's Dynamite. The Young Bucks are set to defend against Jurassic Express. Also, the final “Labour Of Jericho”. Chris Jericho gets his match against MJF, BUT the Judas Effect is banned...and so is “Judas” the song. Plus, STING wrestling live on TNT for the first time in 20 years. He's tagging with Darby Allin against 2.0. Sammy Guevara vs. Shawn Spears… And Dan Lambert is expected to confront Lance Archer...with Lambert said to be bringing along “two UFC champions”. On last night's Dark...Matt Hardy pinned Wheeler Yuta after Hardy took off his boot and used it as a weapon. The ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian outsmarted and submitted Brandon Cutler...and Jurassic Express & the Varsity Blonds beat The Wingmen. (STINGER: WWE) On last night's NXT... MSK beat Imperium's Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner to hang on to the NXT Tag Titles. WALTER showed up at ringside during this match, but his attempts to interfere were cut off by his title challenger at TakeOver, Ilja Dragunov. WALTER did get the better of him after the match. Earlier, Dragunov pinned Roderick Strong with Torpedo Moskau. Strong's match for the cruiserweight title promoted for last night's show did NOT happen. It was announced that the champion Kushida was not medically cleared. So, Strong held an open challenge and Dragunov answered it. Carmelo Hayes beat Duke Hudson to advance to the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament. Hayes will face Odyssey Jones and that match will happen on NEXT Tuesday's NXT. InDex - Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis beat Jessi Kamea & Robert Stone...after Hartwell choked out Kamea. After the match, Hartwell asked Lumis to marry her. She had an engagement ring and everything. He nodded yes. Love wins again! Cameron Grimes pinned Josh Briggs with the Cave In. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, August 18. Be sure to check out our social media channels later today for the start of the “Future 50” - a countdown of the top 50 pro wrestlers age 25 or younger. #50-41 will be revealed today, with more being unveiled every day through the end of the month. WWE wasn't the only place Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle did battle. When Brock left WWE and won the IWGP Heavyweight Title in NJPW, Kurt (who was employed by TNA at the time) went to Japan to take the gold from "The Beast Incarnate".Meanwhile, TNA Unbreakable 2005 is remembered for the three-way match for the X Division Title between AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels. It received a 5 Star match rating from Dave Meltzer and was ranked by TNA as the 4th greatest moment in the company's history.MATCHES: (1) youtu.be/IhSaNW7cMC8 - (2) youtu.be/U28pyOAMXcIVISIT: www.nopleasedontpodcast.com/RRR

Well, to say there isn't any news would be a farse. 1-347-857-1060 to call in and chat with the guys live at 6pm CST. The internet is buzzing, and I'm sure you have all heard. A big slumber party at Paige's home happened, and all the boys came to the yard. What is the fallout from the news involving a fired WWE superstar, one that wants out it seems, and one that is hosting Wrestlemania? We breakdown what could and should be next for the trio. Katsuyori Shibata was victorious in the New Japan Cup, and went all out after. He calls out Kazuchika Okada, as he will be facing him for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at Sakura Genesis on April 9th. What shot does he have to win, and was this a mistake not saving this match? Also, Ryan has a bombshell take he needs to drop about one "Ace" of New Japan, one that if it happens, may change the landscape of the company going forward. How did Raw and Smackdown do compaired to last week? Early thoughts were well, but you never can tell. Raw rebounded well, but did Smackdown fall from their normal pedistal at the top? Listen to what the guys thought about the WWE last week. We also drop another Wrestlemania list, this time our top 5 favorite Mania Moment. A little mania talk as well as the show is starting to come together, and I'm sure a ton of other random banter. Once again, phone lines will be open, so call in and talk some wrasslin with the guys. 1-347-857-1060.

This was a helluva show, so don't miss out!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WCW2:22:48 Japan: AJPW, NJPW, BattlARTS, FMW, Fuyuki-gun, IWA Japan, Michinoku Pro, PWC, Tokyo Pro, Wrestle Yume Factory, Kingdom, AJW, GAWA, & JWP2:56:16 Classic Commercial Break2:58:54 Halftime3:28:27 Other North America: IWA (MB), AAA, CMLL, Promo Azteca, Carlos Maybes, Tijuana, & WWC4:02:28 Other USA: Tank Abbott, ECW, WWA, SSW, IWAMS, USWA, NWF (OH), Dallas, APW, Jeep Swenson, & Portland4:57:14 WWF5:54:40 Patreon Preview: Fallout of Hulk Hogan singling out Superstar Billy Graham on The Arsenio Hall ShowTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
