Garth Ennis has never been interested in playing it safe, and this conversation is a perfect snapshot of why his work still cuts deeper than just about anyone in comics. We dig into Babs from Ahoy Comics, his savage sword-and-sorcery riff that weaponizes absurdity, blood, and pitch-black humor to skewer genre clichés while still delivering the kind of brutal action Ennis fans crave. It's funny, ferocious, and very deliberately unserious, until it suddenly isn't.From there, we shift gears into war stories, both old and new. Ennis talks about his long-running love affair with Johnny Red, the WWI and WWII aerial combat hero he's revived through graphic novels with a historian's respect and a storyteller's bite. We also break down Battle Action, the modern revival of the classic British war anthology, and why those stripped-down, morally thorny combat tales still matter. Finally, Garth looks ahead to what's coming next, teasing new projects and directions slated for 2026, proof that he's nowhere near done challenging readers, genres, or expectations.

Short-term traffic congestion mitigation measures are being sought on a road being used as an unofficial "bypass of Ennis". Residents of the Kilbricken Road, known locally as the Old Bog Road, which links the Quin Road and the N85 Relief Road, are said to be living in a "nightmare situation" due to frequent bottlenecks and tailbacks. The route is too narrow to accommodate two lanes of traffic and as a result, drivers are often forced to pull into the nearest driveway or gateway to allow oncoming traffic to pass. After Mayor of Clare, Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy, raised the issue at a meeting of local representatives this week, Ennis Municipal District said possible short-term solutions include vehicle weight or length restrictions and implementing a one-way system. Clare FM's Seán Lyons spoke to Councillor Murphy about the issues on the road before meeting with a number of frustrated locals.

Physical copies of the survey are available in council buildings including libraries and the findings are to be released in the new year. Jace and Rocky are back for another Comic Boom / Comic Source DC Spotlight, digging into 11 titles for the week of December 3rd, 2025 as the holidays ramp up and Jace teases his upcoming YouTube gift guides and "fireside chat" creator series before diving into eleven new DC titles that make up a solid if not spectacular week, with standout entries like Absolute Green Lantern, Batman, Poison Ivy, JSA, Gotham Academy, and the finale of Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League earning praise for strong pacing, character work, and the always-stellar art of Nicholas Scott. After noting how surprisingly close their rankings are this week, the conversation shifts into the DC KO tie-ins, beginning with a sharp dismissal of Batman: Night Fight #2 as a predictable, creatively hollow retread that squanders Dan Mora's brilliant art on yet another tired "Batman vs. the Bat-Family" setup with inconsistent tournament mechanics and no real stakes. By contrast, DC KO: Superman vs. Captain Atom #1 sparks a more nuanced discussion, as Rocky reassesses his assumptions about the moral framework of the tournament while both hosts admire Sean Isaacs' energetic visuals and the multiversal iterations on display, even as Jace expresses frustration at seeing Captain Atom once again portrayed as easily corrupted instead of realizing the potential shown in his strongest past interpretations. They dig into the murky logic of the fight's resolution, the ongoing characterization challenges for Captain Atom, and the broader editorial realities guiding DC KO, before wrapping up with a quick rundown of this week's facsimiles and collections—including classic Golden Age Superman material, the DC manga box set, Hitman by Ennis and McCrea, and the Judas Contract deluxe edition—and closing out with holiday well-wishes as Absolute Green Lantern, Poison Ivy, and Cheetah & Cheshire anchor the top of their weekly rankings.
