New Noise.   On this episode we speak to Dennis Lyxzén the musician best known as the lead vocalist for Swedish hardcore punk band Refused. He is currently the vocalist in INVSN.   Aside from Refused, he has been involved in numerous Swedish bands during his musical career, acting as vocalist, bass player, or guitar player. Since the break-up of Refused, his most notable bands have been The (International) Noise Conspiracy and Invasionen (Previously called The Lost Patrol Band). Lyxzén also runs Ny Våg, a punk record label. He acted as producer of the 2005 self-titled album by Swedish punk band Regulations, which was released on the label. As a punk rock frontman, Lyxzén's songs are of a counter-culture nature, within line of his socialist political views. Despite his political views, he tends to maintain a level of lyrical variety throughout his various bands. Lyxzén was voted sexiest man in Sweden in 2004 by Elle Magazine and is also vegan. In 2011, Lyxzén joined The Bloody Beetroots for their Church of Noise tour as a guest vocalist. Lyxzén is also featured in their newest single, "Church of Noise", and the accompanying music video. In 2012 it was announced that Refused would reunite for Coachella, Way Out West Festival and Fun Fun Fun Fest 2012. They went on to headline Groezrock 2012 in Meerhout, Belgium. Although Refused stated in 2012 that their reunion was only temporary, in 2015 they released their fourth studio album Freedom. Refused have continued to tour to promote Freedom. This is the second installment of the gang talking about their on-again-off-again relationships in which Todd takes us on journeys to a far away place to tell us about the highlights and perils of a jet-setting romance. And just a heads up, of all the episodes we've produced so far, this is by far the whole gang's favorite episode, so look forward to that. (Side note: has anyone caught on to the correlation between the time that Texas bars close and the time that these episodes are posted? Shout out to our favorite bar manager, Jessie, for making this delay possible - Kuykendall) Alliteration is Kuyk’s favorite thing but no one else likes it, wear a shirt if you think you might be arrested in the near future, shout out to Todd’s parents, Todd can’t talk to pretty girls without getting dumb brain, cute and smart and right is all you need to be make Lauren happy, blinded by blue eyes, looking good Berry (one of our favorite jokes), Kuyk finally admits how sad of an existence he has, mad throwback to our favorite childhood literature, LPOTL reference, always look for the silver lining in any situation, random Spanish diatribe, Kuyk tries to commentate a Spanish rugby game but sucks really bad at it, nobody is on Kuyk’s reference level this episode, first date BJ’s are some of the best BJ’s, when did Todd ever stop being a dick though? Mitch enjoyed Fun Fun Fun Fest too much to interfere with Todd’s beej, Canadian parties are the best, sad somber moment, bringing flasks to bars is the coolest thing to do, apparently the cohosts of this program have a tendency to get kicked out of bars and concerts, not thinking about things is the best way to think about things, Todd goes on his first romantic rollercoaster ride, apparently being in the same time zone makes dating easier – who woulda thought? Todd’s story is MUCH happier than Kuyk’s and involves WAY more adventure, logistics are fucking hard to handle, why did Joleesa come back up? There’s a thin line between sad and funny, origin story for Todd’s hate for Jameson, Emirates needs to sponsor us for how hard Todd is plugging them, Todd makes his SFA counterparts proud by refusing to let the Jameson put him down, the drunk munchies strike at the absolute worst time, title drop, crackers and Jameson are the foundation for a healthy diet, drunken adventures at the milkshake factory, Todd’s words are just dripping with cheese right now, Kuyk makes weird noises, props to the people seeing it like it is, that first little text to your ex is a slippery slipper slope, the white trash is strong in Kuykendall, Amsterdam seems like a pretty good little romantic getaway, Todd throws his parents under the bus for his emotional baggage, the ladies love that cheesy movie shit, yes Todd – let the anger flow through you – go to the dark side of the force, love is awesome but it will totally fuck you up, Kuyk thinks that no one is special, Amsterdam trips are the absolute best, alcohol and strong emotions go together like Todd and Jameson, Todd has a problem with authority apparently, big fights make for really awkward train station trips, the gang discusses how society feels about showing emotions, it’s like a broken record when clearly defined boundaries make everything work better, Kuyk make’s Todd’s moment of realization into an astronomy joke, Invisibilia plug, Kuykendall takes a personal moment and makes it completely public, Lauren breaks her silence and comments on what she’s heard, we all learn how there are different types of on-and-off again relationships and get probably a little too much information from Kuykendall, Todd takes Kuykendall’s metaphor to an amazing place to finish out the episode.

Save It For The Breakdown

Hello Everybody! Welcome to episode 71 of Save It For The Breakdown! I invited Graham Williams back to the podcast to talk about his new entertainment company, Margin Walker, and the replacement for Fun Fun Fun Fest, Sound On Sound Fest. Joining us as well was Craig Moore. Craig Moore is one of the most awesome vocalists in Texas Hardcore. He has been the frontman for such bands as Employer/Employee, Sea Of Thousand, Ratking, and several other bands. He is currently destroying in Pushmen. There was a bit of confusion with scheduling Graham, but it didn't seem like a big deal with having both Craig and Graham on since both have been friends and housemates during the late 1990s. The recording ran long, so I decided to make this a two part episode. Part one is mostly with Graham and he talks about Margin Walker and Sound On Sound. During part we all talk to Craig about his various projects. This was a fun conversation, and I hope that you enjoy listening to both parts. Thanks to Graham and Craig for taking the time to come hang out and talk. As usual you can find the audio for the podcast at Podomatic, Stitcher, and iTunes by searching for Save It For The Breakdown. Thank you all for listening. Enjoy the show. Save It For The Breakdown

Hello Everybody! Welcome to Episode 51 of Save It For The Breakdown. Here in Austin, Texas we are in the midst of Fun Fun Fun Fest. Thanks to Graham Williams, friend of the podcast, we were able to get access to the Homie area of the fest. This enabled Gjared and I to sit and talk with New York Hardcore legends, Sick Of It All. Later that evening we also caught up with Kevin Seconds of yet another legendary band 7 Seconds. Here on Save It For The Breakdown we primarily focus on our scene, Texas Punk/Hardcore/Metal, but when an opportunity to sit with Sick Of It All and 7 Seconds you take it. Thank you for listening. Enjoy the show.

This Livecast began with the recounting of an amazing story about Danzig being a diva at Fun Fun Fun Fest over the weekend. We then talk about the new Lou Reed/Metallica music video coming out, as well as Megadeth's new album, which is actually far better than the Metallica release. In the second hour, we talk about Sid's impending bachelor party. Rob then takes it too far poking fun at Sid's mom, we hear from Shlomo again, Noa talks about a white van, and we get all bombastic. Here's this week's playlist: Megadeth – Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)
