In this deeply personal and emotive episode of 'The Knucklehead Chronicles', host Terry shares an incredibly insightful journey into the process of healing and letting go. He dedicates the episode to a coworker who unknowingly provided much-needed perspective in his life following a difficult divorce. Terry details his struggles with anxiety and the pressure of maintaining a false image, and how these factors amplified the pain of his marital dissolution. While dealing with being labeled as the 'bad guy', he learns an invaluable lesson from his colleague - to simply 'let them'. Her short but profound comment prompted a moment of liberation and personal growth. Hastening towards openness and acceptance, Terry exhibits immense courage in publicly grappling with his feelings, pain, and vulnerabilities. He starts to understand that holding on to past hurt will only serve to bleed him out emotionally. He reflects on the absolute necessity of letting go - letting go of people who no longer value you and bearing the inevitable pain that accompanies such decisions. Terry's journey serves to reassure listeners that they are not alone in their struggles. It provides guidance and support for anyone facing similar circumstances. In sharing his story, Terry provides a poignant and compelling reminder of the power inherent in releasing people and situations that no longer serve us. This episode is a potent blend of vulnerability, strength, and resilience, offering a balm to those weathering the turbulent storms of life.

AM sermon at Columbia church of Christ in Columbia, Kentucky
By Stu Cvrk
The Gemara(Avoda Zara)says, When Hashem sends yesurin/afflictions upon a person, the yesurin take an oath that they will not leave the person until their designated day to leave arrives, at the exact minute they're supposed to leave, with the exact medication that's supposed to remove them. Rabbi Menashe Reisman quoted the Chatam Sofer who said that this only applies if the person does not make Teshuva in the interim. However, if, when the yesurin come, the person cries out to Hashem and accepts to become better, the yesurin will leave earlier. And even though the Gemara says the yesurin take an oath that they can't leave early, that oath is on condition that the person does not change. Which means, even though, for a person's own good, he has to go through certain afflictions sometimes, it is always in the person's hands to end those afflictions earlier. Our greatest tools are always Tefila, Teshuva and Maasim Tovim . In general, afflictions serve to bring about kapara , but we can achieve kapara in other ways, namely teshuva . In the days of the Chatam Sofer, there was a war going on, and he said then that a person must know that in Shamayim there is an exact time that this war was to begin, and there's an exact time that the war is supposed to end. And so too, today, without a question, Hashem has an exact date when this war will end. However, we can make it happen earlier with our teshuva and good deeds. Every improvement we make goes a very long way. Every Tefila goes a very long way. The Mesilat Yesharim writes in Perek יט , that if a person thinks to himself, Who am I to pray for the Geula? Will my prayers really bring about the kibbutz galuyot and the Mashiach? The answer is, Of course they will. It is to combat this claim that Chazal tell us, Hashem created man alone to teach us that everyone should say, “The world was created on my behalf, ..Hashem will change the entire world just because of me .” Every single Jew has this awesome power, and now, more than ever, we need to take advantage of it and have more focus. When we're praying, we need to have more kavana in the beracha of Bonei Yerushalayim . We need to have more kavana in the beracha of Et Semach David . We need to have more kavana in the beracha of Teka B'Shofar, and Hasheva Shofetenu. When we say the words Umalchut Harish'ah Mehera … we can have in mind that Hashem should get rid of these horrible terrorists. When we say Rachem in the Birkat Hamazon , if we focus more, we can bring about the greatest yeshuot . We're asking Hashem to have mercy Al Yisrael Amach, v'al Yerushalayim Irach …. So much is riding on our tefilot and good deeds. If everyone will improve in their deeds and in their tefilot , the Geula will arrive. B'Ezrat Hashem, we should see it soon. Amen.

Hastening the energy transition requires a holistic view of the economy and stronger collaboration and coordination across industries to build more momentum toward a net-zero economy. Those were some of the main takeaways from the Green and Clean: Redefining Finance for a Sustainable Future panel at the International Economic Forum of the Americas Conference in Montreal 2023.
Chhavi Mittal is an Indian Actress, model and producer who is also a mother of two beautiful children. The story of her two births was covered in CNA Insider's documentary , 'A million cuts - India's C-section Epidemic' which is an attempt at blowing the gaff on India's rising C-section rates in the hospitals. In hushed voices, we all know it. We all talk about birth and women's bodies being used as a money making machine for corporate hospitals. Chhavi revealed on Instagram on her 5 page Birth Story, how she was met with aggressive and abusive treatment at the hospital with the birth of her son in 2019. With her first born , Chhavi was induced 11 days prior her estimated due date. Her body was not ready, her baby was born with assitance.Learning from this experience, the couple took hypnobirthing classes and Chhavi circulated her birth plan with clear preferences to her doctor and pediatrician. She refused induction to begin labor. Despite clear communication, and a nicely progressing labor , medical drugs were introduced to hasten the process which turned the tables on her. Chhavi's trance was broken and her body went into a shock. What happened next? How did Chhavi react to this treatment? How did this affect her postpartum. Sometimes even the best leaders can forget that in the end leadership isn't about them. If we are leading our people, it's to lead them to something bigger than ourselves and sometimes we have to die to ourselves in order to bring people to something that will really be good for them. At Cana in Galilee the Virgin Mary triggers a series of events that will lead to our Lord's crucifixion and death. She hastens the hour of its coming even though that means that she will have to say goodbye sooner. She teaches us how to lead even when that means saying goodbye.

In this year of Divine Acceleration, there is a call to pray and fast that the Lord may hasten His deliverance. Join us for three days of corporate prayer and fasting to open the month of February. In Day 1 of our three day fast, our prayer is directed by the scriptures in Psalm 70. There is a sober warning that while God orchestrates His Divine Acceleration, the enemy will do all it can to counterattack the workings of God. In this year of Divine Acceleration, we are called to be diligent and vigilant to move at the speed of God.

Today's episode focuses on the impact of Joe Biden's student loan forgiveness program on the fiscal trajectory of the U.S.. David shares that Biden's plan has only one stipulation: your annual income must be less than $125,000 as a single person (or $250,000 for a married couple). The program only concerns federal student loans. and you can have up to $20,000 in student loans forgiven if you received a Pell Grant. Otherwise the limit is $10,000. David questions whether Biden could do what he has planned, something that seems to be suggested by David Walker – former Comptroller General of the Federal Government – as well. David quotes Dr. Larry Kotlikoff who touches upon the fact that up to three million Americans over 60 are still paying off their student loans. For the non-partisan Penn Wharton, President Biden's plan includes three major components. They estimated that the debt cancellation alone will cost up to $519 billion, while the loan forbearance will cost another $16 billion, and the new income-driven repayment IDR program would cost another $70 billion. According to Maya McGinnis, President of the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Biden's plan will do nothing to actually make education more affordable – meaning that it will likely drive up tuition costs, all while raising prices on a variety of other goods and services for ordinary Americans. Even the Washington Post concedes that the Biden plan will cause tuition to increase more rapidly, primarily due to its income driven repayment IDR provisions. David illustrates how the approach of Biden's plan will encourage students to take out more debt and colleges to charge more in tuition, and how this will impact you as you're trying to get to the 0% tax bracket. While moving forward in life many people wonder when they will find a time to sit down and take a moment to connect with God. Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teach that the Lord expects effort on our part and that while spiritual things may take work, that work is part of helping us become more like God and Jesus Christ. “There is just something about that principle of work, President Nelson has mentioned several times that God loves effort and I think that we just need to roll up our sleeves and figure out how we can best do work of all different types,” said Jason Flora, the Humanities and Philosophy Department chair at BYU-Idaho, in an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio. In Flora's devotional talk titled “We Each Have Work To Do!” he spoke on the importance of work in shaping us into better people. “Work has always entailed intentional effort or exertion on the part of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and so it must be with us in our journey to become more like Them. To bring about God's perfect plan for each of us, as His literal spirit children, surely we must continue to undergo the mortal and ofttimes painful process of being ‘hammered,' ‘scraped,' ‘pressed,' and ‘stretched' in order that He might ‘fashion' us into that ‘useful or desired product,'” Flora said. Often, members of The Church of Jesus Christ hear the words of Church President Russel M. Nelson as he admonishes them to hasten the work of the Lord. Hastening the work starts with hastening ourselves in doing the work. “Consequently, much of our current work should be focused on increasing our personal spiritual strength and speed,” Flora said. Flora ended with some points on how we can advance our spirituality and strengthen ourselves to hasten the work of The Lord through increasing our capacity to receive revelation, letting God prevail in our lives, and choosing to repent daily as we strive to listen to the words of The Lord consciously and consistently. You can listen to his full devotional address here: https://soundcloud.com/byu-idaho-radio/jason-floras-devotional-address-on-the-eternal-importance-of-hard-work?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, reflects on a medically assisted suicide that took place in the sanctuary of a church. Although the medically assisted suicide of Betty Sanguin was reportedly “unanimously approved by the church's leadership team,” suicide is the murder of oneself. In Christian theology the timing and terms of death are the province of God alone (Deuteronomy 32:39). As such, a doctor is never permitted to usurp the prerogative of deity. Hastening death based on subjective judgments concerning one's quality of life is a violation of Scripture (cf. Genesis 9:6; Exodus 20:13). While passive euthanasia is morally permissible in that it allows the process of dying to run its natural course, active euthanasia is morally prohibited because it directly involves the taking of human life. Permitting voluntary active euthanasia opens the door to the greater evil of non–voluntary euthanasia. See Emily Standfield, “Manitoba's First Medically Assisted Death in a Church Was an ‘Intimate' Ceremony,” Broadview, April 29, 2022, https://broadview.org/medically-assisted-death-church/. Welcome to this Scripture Hike of 2 Peter 3:10-18 with the Nomads! There are certain things we learn about a mountain only by hiking it, one laborious, yet exhilarating step at a time. When we stay in the moment enough to let it fill our senses with freshness and beauty, the hike becomes a part of us. We nomads have set out on a new quest in this series of NomadsYouAndi podcasts we're calling “Scripture Hikes” to discuss the word of God at a pace that is similar to the hikes we've been taking while we're living nomadically. Come join us now for a hike through the Word where we'll encounter spiritual truths that we've found to be more strengthening to our spirits, more fragrant to our hearts, and more refreshing to our souls, than any evergreen forest, pristine mountain spring, or mountain peak we've ever experienced.

In our previous podcast, Part I, we chronicled two years of a pandemic that was highlighted by Covid, the Black Lives Movement, and the Presidential Certification by Congress. Titled similarly, this podcast is Part II, but is now called the hastening fall of Bob Chapek, not the long fall. We now move into the last three months of 2023, which in some ways has been nearly as turbulent as the preceding two years. Decisions in years past to support Republican members of the Florida Legislature have come back to haunt Disney as Governor DeSantis has sought to sign into law a bill referred by many as "Don't Say Gay". We will make sense of all of these events, and why they have unravelled the way they have. We will revisit the role of Bob Chapek as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, and how an organization that promises to be more active in matters of diversity, equity and inclusion can at times be so far away from the goal. And finally, as this is a Disney at Work podcast, we'll offer some thoughts as to what these events mean to you and me and to not only our own workforce experience, but our personal lives. Join us for The Hastening Fall of Bob Chapek, and Disney's Long Road to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Part II.
Today I talked to Christopher Clohessy about his book Angels Hastening: The Karbalāʾ Dreams (Gorgias Press, 2021), When, on an autumn Medina night in 61/680, the night that saw al-Ḥusayn killed, Umm Salama was torn from her sleep by an apparition of a long-dead Muḥammad, she slipped effortlessly into a progression of her co-religionists who, irrespective of status, gender or standing with God, were the recipients of dark and arresting visions. At the core of those Delphian dreams, peopled by angels or ğinn or esteemed forbears and textured with Iraqi dust and martyrs' blood, was the Karbalāʾ event. Her dream would be recounted by an array of Muslim scholars, from al-Tirmiḏī, stellar pupil of al-Buḫārī, and Ibn ʿAsākir, untiring chronicler of Syrian history, to bibliophile theologian Ibn Ṭāʾūs and Egyptian polymath al-Suyūṭī. But this was not Umm Salama's only otherworldly encounter and she was not the only one to have al-Ḥusayn's fate disturb her nights. This is their story. How the Lord Is Hastening His Work—through Social Media
Doug Cobb is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor who is passionate about completing the ultimate command Christ left us with: making disciples of all nations. Using the skills from his private equity background, Doug founded the Finishing Fund, a sort of venture capital fund connecting those with resources to those on the final frontier of global missions. In particular, the Finishing Fund finances projects with an extensive network of vetted ministry partners specifically to reach the final unengaged unreached people groups in the world. In 2017 when the Finishing Fund was founded, out of 12,000 people groups in the world with 500 or more people, there were 1450 unengaged people groups without a single Christian living among them. Today, that number is 149, and Doug believes that there can be workers engaging every one of those remaining groups by the end of 2022. We had all sorts of questions for Doug, like how do you find ministries to work with? What barriers will there be to reaching the remaining groups? What exactly is the Great Commission? And how will we know when the work is complete? You won't want to miss Doug's interview for the answers to these questions and more. QUOTES TO REMEMBER “Right from the beginning, generosity was something that found its way into our lives.” “That was the most amazing experience of our giving lives.” “Ours could be the generation to see this work finished. I absolutely believe that it's within our capability by God's grace to finish this within our generation.” “The business you end up doing is almost never the one you thought you were going to do.” “Finding those things, those good works that he's prepared in advance individually for each of us, to me just makes life such an incredible adventure.” “God is determined to see this work completed.” “If you compare the amount of time people spend managing their secular portfolios and the amount of time they spend managing their kingdom portfolios, for most people there is not even a comparison.” “There is hardly anything to be more excited about then the completion of the Great Commission.” “When you become convinced that we are living in the era of the finishing of the Great Commission, it just needs to change our view of money, possessions, and eternity.” LINKS FROM THE SHOW The Finishing Fund Doug's book, And Then the End Will Come Money Possessions and Eternity by Randy Alcorn The Treasure Principle by Randy Alcorn Mere Christianity by C.S. Ephesians 2:8-10 | Created for Good Works 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. 2 Peter 3:11-12 | Hastening the Coming of the Day of God 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! Matt 24:14 | And Then the End Will Come 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Luke 12:16-21 | Bigger Barns 16 And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, 17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”' 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
