1946-1948 The Return of Cajun Music After World War II, soldiers returning home wanted to hear the music of their youth. While the output of recorded Cajun music in the early 1940's was slim; by 1946 Cajun music returned by way of the birth of independent labels. My guest today is ex-Pro Surfer turned philanthropist and humanitarian, Jon Rose. About 10 years ago, Jon founded Waves for Water, an organization promoting access to clean water around the globe. Jon has lead an interesting life and has visited more countries than I can name. The event was a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy Relief and was truly a special evening. It is the only recorded interview with Tom and Sonny. It would also be their last interview together as Sonny had passed away a year later. This interview took place following the first ever theater screening of "Searching For Tom Curren" and the crowd was stoked!
