No Fight for the big Brand this weekend. A few good news storys to cover, plus the usual banter. I did enjoy a bud light lime beforehand, if that offends people so be it. I guess I also took a drug this morning prescribed to me for 2 mental health-related issues that are being touted on the worldwide web as a supposed gateway to drugs I've never seen or ever want to see, but I suppose if I keep taking what Ive been taking during my 5 years of criminally free life I will sure enough start craving them. Still wondering when it was ok for a gig worker to ask, diagnose, and give them medical advice. Hipaa Laws??? And No offense to Kobe Bryant and his family or his life. Ep 158 Jamie Del Fierro - Forgiveness to Freedom: Overcoming Rape, Freeing Yourself from Your Past Story, and Forgiving the Unforgivable At the age of 11 years old, Jamie was molested. Then at 14 years old, two of her brother's best friends raped her in her childhood bed. One of the boys from that event told her, "You deserve this, you're a whore and you are trash." After going through these traumatic events, when Jamie heard the words, "You are trash," her life shifted course. Hearing those words at such an impressionable age, at the time she believed that was her truth. For the next 10 years, Jamie adopted the identity of what she believed was "trash." This led to using drugs and alcohol. She was pregnant at 16 and had her daughter at the age of 17. She said that in the early years, she felt more like a "care giver" to her daughter than a mother. Eventually, continuing deeper into this story of "being trash" she go into multiple abusive relationships, stripping, escorting, and eventually into using cocaine and meth. All of this changed one day at a dinner at a sushi restaurant when she met one of her brother's friends, a man by the name of Sean Stephenson. After one life-changing meeting with Sean, Jamie decided to take control of her life and turn things around. She realized she was going to make these changes for herself and for her daughter. She said, "I want to look at myself in the mirror and be proud for once in my life." Now Jamie is 13 years sober, is an incredible speaker and coach running her own business, co-owner of renowned MMA Gym (Alliance Gym) in San Diego, has a deeply-loving marriage, and is best friends with her daughter. In today's interview Jamie will share: How to forgive the unforgivable Her best advice on how to overcome trauma and how to help people you love through traumatic experiences What it takes to shift a story or identity that is holding us back Her advice for anyone who has experienced sexual abuse on how to open up and get help How one night at a sushi restaurant changed her life forever Why vulnerability has led to her greatest successes How to find motivation to change when you are at rock bottom What it took for her to find a loving relationship that is completely open and honest How she became her daughter's hero and best friend How her forgiveness changed so many people's lives (and changed her wedding day) And so much more! Glenn Robinson from the Blackzilians MMA Gym. Glenn started his journey as an entrepreneur in the early 2000’s as a Tool Manufacturer with a company called Iron Bridge Tools. Where he personally created the designs of all the products they sell. He even has some experience in the music industry, which we didn’t really get into, Maybe next time for a round two. He was friends with people in the world of MMA that would ask him for help and advice from time to time. When one of the guys and a group of fellow fighters wanted to leave the gym they were with, Glenn helped find them a home with no intention of getting into the business. Well, that changed. Glenn relocated these fighters to their new home the JACO Hybrid Training Center which is a beautiful facility in Boca Raton, that offers everything from classes for MMA Fighters to the average person who is interested in MMA, Crossfit, Nutritional Counseling, and much more. The Blackzilians includes fighters such as Rashad Evans who is fighting on the MASSIVE UFC 205 card at Madison Square Garden on November 12th, they also have Thigo Silva, the UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez, Vitor Belfort, and Anthony Rumble Johson who had a fight coming up when we did this interview against Glover Teixera, which he won and earned a fight with the Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier down the road. Glenn is very passionate about what he does, a big family man, and really looks out for the people around him.
