Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made her Twitch Debut Tuesday night in historic fashion. Her Among Us stream peaked at 435k viewers right around the time of her first match. This puts her broadcast among the top streams of all time coming in behind Ninjas largest stream of 600k when he played fortnite with rapper Drake in 2018. AOC had some help as well as she played along with Rep. Ilhan Omar and tops streamers like Pokimaine, Dr. Lupo, Disguised Toast among others. AOC isnt the first politician to use Video games as a way to connect with her voters. Sen. Bernie Sanders joined twitch, Joe Bidens Campaign had its own Animal Crossing Island, and Hilary Clinton famously asked voters to “pokemon go to the polls”. All of these however have seemingly fallen short to what AOC managed to accomplish. Daintiest - Do you think this is the future of campaigning and is it a good thing really? Twitch blasts streamers with vague, unhelpful DMCA takedown emails Twitch this week surprised many of its users when it sent out a huge batch of copyright takedown emails. These messages not only didn't tell streamers what supposedly infringing content they posted, but it also said that Twitch had simply deleted content outright without giving users a chance to appeal. Many Twitch "partners"—the folks who make actual money from their Twitch participation—received emails on Tuesday warning that some of their archival content was about to be deleted for violating copyright law. There is an option to fight these claims. This time around, though, users aren't getting that option. Twitch not only didn't actually tell users what infringing content was connected to their account—it just went ahead and deleted everything permanently anyway, according to the emails: Twitch said We recognize that by deleting this content, we are not giving you the option to file a counter-notification or seek a retraction from the rights holder. In consideration of this, we have processed these notifications and are issuing you a one-time warning to give you the chance to learn about copyright law and the tools available to manage the content on your channel.Deviant - We have talked on this show before about future deals twitch is making and now that their twitch music program has started, do you think this is compliance to try to grow their library? Cyberpunk 2077 Music Should Be Safe for Twitch Streams People who plan to play and stream Cyberpunk 2077 are getting some good news: the game's official Twitter account announced today that all of the music in the soundtrack is completely original. This means that hopefully, Cyberpunk 2077 Twitch streamers won't get hit with copyright claims. Cyberpunk 2077 is finally getting released after being delayed multiple times, and there have been a few controversies around the game including its portrayal of transgender people and CD Projekt Red's treatment of its employees. Despite this, many people are excited for what looks like a very well-made and interesting game, and understandably there are already streamers lined up ready to play Cyberpunk 2077 on Twitch and YouTube. CD Projekt Red has been accused of violating copyright for music before, which may be another reason why the devs are being extra careful with the Cyberpunk 2077 tracks. A Croatian composer named Elvis Stanić accused the studio of stealing a song for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt last year. Music copyright claims are a common and tricky thing in the gaming industry, and many devs and streamers just want to steer clear of DMCA issues altogether Stump - It seems ridiculous to me streamers need to worry about music in a game that was licensed. What do you think? Gaming News Xbox Boss Phil Spencer On Series X Launch, Halo Infinite & Bethesda In an interview with Kotaku, Xbox boss Phil Spencer discussed the future of the next gen consoles as well as the recent purchase of Zenimax/Bethesda. Spencer had said in previous interviews that existing deals involving ZeniMax games would still be honored, suggesting that something like the time-traveling game Deathloop would still come first to PS5, as previously announced. When asked “Is it possible to recoup a $7.5 billion investment if you don't sell Elder Scrolls VI on the PlayStation?” Spencer answered YES. He went on to say “This deal was not done to take games away from another player base like that. Nowhere in the documentation that we put together was: ‘How do we keep other players from playing these games?' We want more people to be able to play games, not fewer people to be able to go play games. But I'll also say in the model—I'm just answering directly the question that you had—when I think about where people are going to be playing and the number of devices that we had, and we have xCloud and PC and Game Pass and our console base, I don't have to go ship those games on any other platform other than the platforms that we support in order to kind of make the deal work for us.” Deviant - How do you feel about exclusives? Do you think his words hold much weight or is it just posturing? Brock Lesnar Has Been Added To Non-WWE Video Game Brock Lesnar has been added to the UFC 4 roster on the back of his contract with WWE expiring. The superstar hasn't appeared in a WWE ring for some time but fans who own the game will be able to get him to their screens, something which marks the first time he's appeared in a UFC game since 2014. Lesnar was a playable character in UFC 2009 Undisputed and UFC Undisputed 3. He was also on the cover of UFC Undisputed 2010. According to Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer, Lesnar has signed a deal with either EA or UFC. "Brock Lesnar has been added to the new EA Sports UFC 4 video game, so that means he must have made a deal with UFC or EA for the game," Lesnar is currently a free agent and there's no word yet on what's next for him. A return to UFC is thought to be on the cards but it's generally believed that he will sign a new deal with WWE. Stump - Where do you think we are going to see Brock end up?Bold prediction 1 Video Game Streamers Should Pay Devs for Streaming Games, Says Vet Video game industry veteran, Alex Hutchinson (Far Cry, Assassin's Creed), has sparked quite a controversy on Twitter after suggesting that streamers should pay developers and publishers for streaming their games and making money from them. Hutchinson – a former Ubisoft developer and currently a Google Stadia creative – ended up doubling down on his statements after being called out by his followers as well as fellow developers, leading to Google distancing itself from his tweets. Hutchinson wrote: Streamers worried about getting their content pulled because they used music they didn't pay for should be more worried by the fact that they're streaming games they didn't pay for as well. It's all gone as soon as publishers decide to enforce it. The real truth is the streamers should be paying the developers and publishers of the games they stream. They should be buying a license like any real business and paying for the content they use. Amazing to me that people are upset at someone saying that the creators of content should be allowed to make some of the money from other people using their content for profit. Dainty - His employer walked his statement back and said they understand the symbiotic relationship that exists. Do you think his opinion is the norm in the industry or an outlier?Entertainment News Jared Leto's Joker is joining Zack Snyder's Justice League director's cut From the Verge, Just when we thought the drama surrounding Zack Snyder's Justice League couldn't get any weirder, it seems Jared Leto's.... controversial take on the Joker will be appearing in the director's cut of the 2017 superhero team-up when it hits HBO Max next year. Leto, who infamously played the role of the Batman villain in 2016's Suicide Squad, is reportedly joining the ongoing reshoots for the new Justice League cut, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's not entirely clear what role Leto's Joker will play in the re-edited film. Despite the controversy over Leto's edgy interpretation of the villain, the character has only had a minor role (at best) in the live-action DC films. The fact that Snyder appears to be using the reshoots (which will also reportedly feature Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard) for his own cut of Justice League to introduce an entirely new character to the story could indicate more substantial changes from both his original version of the film as well as the final theatrical cut that director Joss Whedon finished back in 2017. Deviant - We know Leto threw a tantrum and tried to have the Joaquin Phoenix movie shut down. Do you think that played into this decision? The Mediocre Rise and Inevitable Fall of QuibiThe Quibi mobile streaming service experiment has come to an end. Maybe you are like me and said Quibi whats that? Apparently we are not alone as they have decided to close their service down after just 6 months and 1.75 billion dollars spent. From their interview in verge “There is any number of factors that can be pointed to in unpacking Quibi's demise: the launch of a mobile-only streaming service at the height of a global pandemic when users were stuck at home; the lack of any real breakout content that was compelling enough to tempt subscribers; or the fact that shortform video content has a nearly infinite amount of free competition in the form of YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms. Quibi itself is chalking up the lack of success because “the idea itself wasn't strong enough to justify a standalone streaming service or because of our timing.” The company will be notifying current subscribers as to the final date that they'll be able to access Quibi.” We dont really know at this point what they will do with the current show lineup as its possible they could be sold to another streaming service or Television Channel. Stump - Did anyone really expect this to work? Tim Burton's Bringing THE ADDAMS FAMILY Back to Television In what feels like the most obvious pairing of creator and material in the world, Deadline is reporting that director Tim Burton is joining with Smallville executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar to bring The Addams Family back to live-action television. Burton will not only executive produce the series, but it appears as if he might direct all the episodes as well. This new iteration doesn't have a home yet, but distributor MGM is fielding offers from Netflix, among other streamers. This would be Burton's first venture into directing for television. The original '90s Addams Family movies are often mistaken for Burton films, despite Barry Sonnenfeld being the director. Nevertheless, Burton has flirted with the creepy and kooky family on more than one occasion. He received an offer to direct the original 1991 film, but he turned it down to do Batman Returns. In 2010, he began to develop a stop-motion animated Addams Family movie, similar to The Nightmare Before Christmas. But sadly, that never came to fruition. However, it looks like Burton will finally have his chance to show the world his take on Gomez, Morticia, and the rest. Dainty - I think the question on all our minds is who will play these iconic characters? Site Tracks Every Broken McDonalds Ice Cream Machine in US Earlier this year 24-year-old Rashiq Zahid created McBroken (which we first heard about at The Verve). The free website shows a map of every McDonald's in the country. A green dot represents those locales with a functioning ice cream machine. Red dots indicate a restaurant with a broken one. You can zoom in on the map to your part of the country to see which McDonald's closest to you can deliver on that sweet promise. The site also features a statistical breakdown of just how many machines are not operational at moment, including for some major markets. No question guys just thought that this man deserves a nobel peace prize BOLD PREDICTIONS I would bet Lesner signed a deal with EA and will end up signing with WWE again. That would be the biggest bang for his buck and Lesner follows the Bucks. Dollars that is not the young bucks.Jerod Leto's joker will go down as the worst joker of all time when he finally hangs up the green wig. As far as i can see halo infiniti “should” come out fall of 2021. I am calling it now. Now way. Id be surprised if they hit a fall 2022 release date. Plug your stuff.Zazzaboo plug the site, Pod etc `Thanks and we will see you next week!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Speaking of iPad, Will fills us in on the iPad 3 and gets into some Battlefield 3 and Bastion talk. Corey tells us how to get to level 80 instantly in World of Warcraft, shares the PlayStation exclusive Sorcery release date, and Peter Molyneux’s departure, concluding with IGN’s report of record PC game sales in 2011. Eric rounds off nibble bits with the first details on Assassin’s Creed 3. 00:14:28 Our Weeks 00:28:05 Music Break 00:29:35 Main Segment: Mass Effect 3 We launch into the much anticipated (especially in our circle) sci-fi epic, Mass Effect 3. Dan, Will, and Corey have a few hours under their belts and are eager to share their thoughts (SPOILERS INCLUDED). 01:25:00 Music Break 01:26:30 Feedback A disappointed listener writes in to lament BioWare’s mishandling of character imports in Mass Effect 3. Another listener requests our thoughts on Release Date DLC. Friend of the show, multidirectional1 tells us he’s doing a YouTube play through of Dark Souls for all the characters. 1:42:50 News Eric’s story states that 76% of couples (heterosexual) say video games help their relationship. Disclaimer: both partners are gamers. Will reminds us of the unfortunate outsourcing of Deus Ex’s boss battles. Corey’s article asks the question: why aren’t there more video games based on the American Revolution? Dan pontificates on those trolls who critique games without playing them first. 02:05:21 Music Break 02:06:50 What We Played Will plays Draw Something, which draws only criticism from Corey and Eric. Eric plays more UFC Undisputed, is a bit indifferent about MLB The Show and continues to plow through Mass Effect 2 Dan sinks some time into Star Wars: The Old Republic on his new PC in addition to many hours spent on Mass Effect 3

A listener chooses Dead Space 2 for game of the year, and we wonder what a Dead Space is. 01:58:50 News: Corey comments on Heath Hindman’s GameRevolution article, “Final Fantasy XIII-2 Bombing in Japan?”, which brings to light gamers’ indifference towards holding on to XIII-2 for DLC. Does Square Enix need a miracle? 02:08:13 Dan lists the awards presented in Destructoid’s article, “Skyrim wins big at Annual Interactive Achievement Awards,” by Maurice Tan. Eric expresses more tongue-in-cheek distaste for Portal 2 and Corey wonders why Dark Souls didn’t win more awards. 02:23:20 Eric brings up the IGN article outlining some of the ideas Bethesda may include in future Skryim DLC. He keeps the week casual with a free download of Ticket to Ride for iPhone. Dan somehow manages to include beef on weck in the conversation. 02:55:20 Dan relives Mario RPG for the SNES to everyone’s pleasure. 02:57:34 Eric tries out a new formation in Fifa 12. (iTunes-Abolink). Glen returns from the riots of LA on this edition live from CC Gaming in Kennesaw, GA. The game we chose this week is UFC Undisputed 2010 on the Xbox 360 - and unfortunately none of our online audience who begged us to play the game showed up to take their beatdowns. So, we spend the rest of the time playing a rare pack-in game for the SNES later in it's lifecycle - Super Mario All-Stars with Super Mario World. Some customers come in (after closing) and can't name the game that we're playing, but you should hear their reaction when we tell them the name of the game we ARE playing!

Eddie, Matt, and Dan discuss the effects of hype on the videogame industry, and reveal the upcoming games they're excited to play. Dan Crabtree and Matt Erazo join host Eddie Inzauto to talk about the hype train in the videogame industry. From marketing strategy, to community involvement, to the effects of sequels, to the way hype alters the final gameplay experience, the sans-Fanelli trio of gamers touch on a number of related topics. Does hype condition us to believe what is told to us about games, or does it have the opposite affect, producing more disappointments and surprises than one would be subject to with fewer prior influences? Additionally, will May 2010 spell certain doom for gamers' wallets with the release of 3D Dot Game Heroes, Lost Planet 2, Skate 3, Alan Wake, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Modnation Racers, UFC Undisputed 2010, and the rest of the month's lineup? Also mentioned in this episode: Borderlands, Monster Hunter Tri, Nier, Turok, Final Fantasy XIII, Splinter Cell Conviction, BioShock, Dante's Inferno, God of War, Left 4 Dead, Devil May Cry, Halo: Reach, SleepIsDeath, Super Street Fighter IV, etc. Versus Node theme, "Dungeon" by Koji Kondo for Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda, 1987. Firstly, Johnny checks out the Bears of Beijing 2008! Or should it be BEARjing? Huh? In this episode of BearsInGames, Johnny is inspired by the hot burliness of Olympic athletes Manolo Martinez and Matthias Steiner into renting and playing a few events in Sega's Olympic tie-in Beijing '08. Did it deserve the critical drubbing it received? Can you play as your favorite bearish men? In short, yes, it did, and no, you can't. All you need to see about this game is contained in the video. Plus: a bulge-tastic montage. Next up: Legends of Wrestlemania for the 360. Ah, wrestling. Johnny has already covered Capcom's fantastic take on the subject, so let's look at how the WWE has brought together some of the best wrestlers of all time into one game. With Bam Bam Bigelow, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Arn Anderson, King Kong Bundy, Andre the Giant, The Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, you're not wanting for hot burly bear wrestlers. Though hopefully you like them well-muscled; most are disturbingly shiny and on steroids. (I mean, more steroids then usual.) Also: Johnny Barnstorm and Wil "Dubs" take on men online in oddly polite encounters! Lastly, UFC Undisputed: is it a fighting game or hardcore bear porn? Seriously, Johnny can't tell. There are just some points during the training where... well... let's just say that it sure looks like the fighters are really, really good friends. And having sex. UFC tries hard to be awful; the soundtrack is about ten decibels louder than any other game out there, and there's about an hour of recorded dialogue of the guy who runs UFC ranting about how it's the ultimate match of the ultimate fighters and they're modern day gladiators, and... ugh. But the game itself? Damn good. Nice to watch. Though the fighters themselves are modeled sans crotches. Weird.
