In this episode, I speak with Christine Davies: a Masters-qualified holistic psychotherapist who supports women to be well in their body, mind and soul, and who is based in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. We discuss the evolution of her business - Woven Holistic Counselling, which Christine started inspired by her own mental health journey and subsequent personal growth through the use of holistic modalities.Christine and I explore the marketing strategies that have supported her, specifically bringing herself into her marketing through video, even when it felt like an incredibly scary and uncomfortable thing to do at the start (which perhaps you can relate to), along with the power of building real-life connections to attract clients. We also discuss how Christine continues to intentionally structure her business to support her own well-being.I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Christine through my membership The Modern Marketing Collective and a couple of my Elevate business retreats and it has been so rewarding for me personally to see someone who has such drive and commitment to their work, as is as gifted as Christine, to continue to expand her marketing skills and confidence and evolve her business.CONNECT WITH EMILYWebsite | Instagram | LinkedInGet Emily's free online marketing resources at emilyosmond.com/freeCreate and launch your first online course in 30 Days with 30 Day Course Launch at www.emilyosmond.com/launch-course Explore all of Emily's online courses and resources at www.emilyosmond.com/programs CONNECT WITH CHRISTINEWebsite | Instagram | Facebook

In this episode, I'm speaking with Emma Jenkins - a registered psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families providing therapy and assessment with a strengths based, client-centered and trauma informed approach.Since becoming a mother she has developed a passion for supporting parent and infant mental health, especially the adjustment and mental load, social expectation and internalised ‘shoulds' that come with motherhood, as well as the way our own childhoods and attachment patterns can replay, or influence to impact our parenting, and our romantic relationships.Emma works with online groups to nurture and empower mothers to carve out a motherhood of their own, beyond the rules and the mousewheel, towards their own unique joy from the center of them, that they always dreamt of with their baby.I've had the pleasure of working with Emma through my membership, The Modern Marketing Collective and at my most recent Elevate Retreat. In this episode, we discuss how Emma's business came to be, the changes and bold moves she has made over time, plus how she set - and achieved - a goal in her business, of taking her family to Disney World!CONNECT WITH EMILYWebsite | Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInFree marketing training, templates and resources at emilyosmond.com/freeJoin The Modern Marketing Collective at emilyosmond.com/collectiveCONNECT WITH EMMA JENKINSWebsite | Instagram | Facebook

Most small business owners think their marketing should feel new and exciting to them in order to be doing it right. In fact, they think that if they repeat themselves in their content, they're doing it wrong. But when we market our business to suit our personal needs of fun, newness and change, we forget about our audience and their needs of consistency and repetition from a brand. In this episode, I explore three of the mistakes we make that lead us to resist doing what works - i.e. repetition - in our marketing, and I share how we can harness repetition for more reliable business success.CONNECT WITH EMILYWebsite | Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInGet my free marketing training, templates and resources at emilyosmond.com/freeJoin my membership, The Modern Marketing Collective.

There's a great little feature on Instagram that you might not yet be aware of - or if you are aware of it, you may not be using it in the most strategic way possible.I'm talking about Instagram's pinned posts feature. You can pin up to three of your posts to the top of your profile on Instagram, which means that these are the first pieces of content that people will see when they land on your profile. So what content exactly should you be considering pinning there? That's what we're exploring in today's episode!CONNECT WITH EMILYWebsite | Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInGet my free marketing training, templates and resources at emilyosmond.com/freeJoin the waitlist for my membership, The Modern Marketing Collective.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it: I have found the past few months pretty hard! The last episode I recorded about business and a baby was when Lando was four months old. He had slept for a lot of the day up until about three months, and at the time I recorded that episode, I was getting to grips with no longer having pockets of my day to dive into work. This coincided with the end of the time that I had prepared for taking my own version of maternity leave - about three months. With Lando due in September, I had most of my content planned until the rest of the year, podcast episodes relatively organised with some re-casts happening, and with December typically being a quieter month in my business each year, I thought I would hit the ground running in January.Well in this episode, I discuss how exactly that plan went and what I have found best and hardest about the past few months, with Lando almost one year old now.CONNECT WITH EMILY:Website | Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInGet Emily's free marketing resources at emilyosmond.com/freeJoin the waitlist for The Modern Marketing Collective.

Some of the really valuable insights that I teach inside the Modern Marketing Collective centre around four categories of content that every business needs. These are connection, credibility, value and promotion, and today I'm talking about how to apply each of these specifically to your website.Understanding these four categories will be super helpful for everything marketing related, from posting on Instagram and creating your newsletter to how you structure your offerings and content across your entire business. CONNECTION Connection is all about building loyalty and likeability. Research shows that 86% of consumers say that authenticity is a key factor when deciding what brands they like and support. This means that it's really important to show people who you are so they can see who is behind the business. The ‘About' page is one of the most visited pages of websites, which gives you an opportunity to bring yourself into your brand and build connection with your audience. If you haven't already, make sure you include a photo of yourself and tell people a little bit about what you value. This is one of the amazing benefits that small business has, as opposed to larger corporations, because you can really build your unique personality into the business. CREDIBILITY Building trust is huge when it comes to building community and ultimately, making sales. 70% of people will trust a recommendation from someone that they don't even know, which means thatawards, testimonials, case studies, reviews, and media features are really, really powerful. You might already have some of these included on your website, and if you don't, start gathering some of these items and start weaving them throughout your website. You can get quite intentional and specific here in terms of boosting your credibility when it comes to the different pages on your website. For example, I have podcast reviews and statistics on the ‘Podcast' page on my website, which helps build credibility for my show. VALUEThis category is all about understanding how to craft your message and make it crystal clear the transformation you offer, the problems you solve and the solutions you provide to your audience. Think about how you can showcase the value that your business brings.Messaging is absolutely key because it's something you apply everywhere, from social media to emails, your bio to your website content. Establishing the right messaging can be a challenge, but when you are able to simplify and break it down to make it really clear, your audience will know exactly what you are offering and how you can help them. PROMOTIONI like to think of selling as an invitation and this is something you should absolutely be including all throughout your website. Don't have any dead ends on your website! Be really intentional about what pages you are linking people to. What is the next step in their customer journey? Make it really clear and explicit through your language and also the layout of your website. Your services and offerings aren't going to be for everyone, but by crafting a website that truly shows who you are, what you are offering and exactly how you can help people, you are setting the scene to help build trust and the demand for what you have to offer.LINKS: Apply to join the Elevate Business Retreat here! My guest today is Sara Jade, owner and founder of SJ&Co, a boutique hair salon in Northcote, Melbourne. Having been in business for 15 years, Sara Jade has so much insight and wisdom when it comes to business. She has taken her salon to the next level by reimagining, simplifying, downsizing and getting really clear on what she wants. LETTING GO OF HER EGO TO MAXIMISE HER HAPPINESSAt the peak of her business, SJ&Co had 14 staff but Sara Jade was constantly drowning in debt from paying wages and the cost of product wastage. With the help of a business coach, Sara Jade stepped back to analyse her business and realised that the biggest thing to let go of was her ego. Once she let go of the need to prove that she was successful, Sara Jade was able to completely simplify her business down to two staff, putting her back on the tools and doing what she loves most. By taking away everything that wasn't working, what remains now for Sara Jade is a thriving, simplified business and life. A REMINDER OF CONNECTION OVER PERFECTIONNot only is she my hairdresser, but Sara Jade is also a member of the Modern Marketing Collective. Sara shares how diligently working through the modules gave her the confidence to back herself and focus on connection with her clients instead of trying to do everything she thought she had to do. INTENTIONAL DECISIONS AND TAKING RISKSA hair salon is quite a traditional business, so when Sara Jade decided to replace the receptionist role with her own app, it came as a surprise to a few customers. But, Sara Jade knew that the most important thing was to serve her ideal clients in the best possible way. A lot of Sara Jade's clientele are busy CEOs and CFOs so she opened her books to accommodate early morning appointments and made booking simple. She also created an account with two local cafes so clients can pre-order a coffee instead of her having to spend precious time in the kitchen. Another huge change Sara Jade made to her business was removing apprentices and focusing on colours and no longer prioritising cuts. These creative changes were risky for the industry, but this iteration of the salon has not only simplified Sara Jade's life but also enables her to provide an amazing service to her clientele. YOUR BUSINESS ISN'T FOR EVERYONE…AND THAT'S OKAY!If you're a business owner and thinking about downsizing or simplifying your business, you might have some fears or concerns around how to go about it. And perhaps you're wondering if people would respond well to the changes that you make. The truth is, your business isn't for everyone and that's okay! One thing Sarah Jade has done so well is understanding what works best for her and implementing some really creative and somewhat drastic changes to her business to make it work. When you service your people, you attract more of your people and that's how you build your brand. Today I'm joined by Tanya Castellino, the founder of Life's Little Celebrations and member of The Modern Marketing Collective. Her business has promoted and supported kids' event vendors for the past 12 years and during this time, she has launched the Celebrate Society Membership for Kids Party Suppliers, the Celebrate Conference, and a magazine called Celebrating Little Ones.SHE LAUNCHED A MAGAZINE? TELL ME MORE!Celebrating Little Ones is a FREE online magazine that brings together the best party vendors, party products, real party features, interviews and more for kids' parties. This is THE kid's party magazine in Australia, solely focusing on children's celebrations. WHAT DOES A MEMBERSHIP FOR KIDS' PARTY VENDORS INCLUDE?Life's Little Celebrations offers membership and network for vendors in the kids' party industry and small business owners who provide products or services for kids' celebrations and offer them amazing support and a really connected network. Tanya has had her business featured in publications such as Donna Hay Magazine and The Practical Parenting Magazine, and she's also been chosen as a judge for the Party Stylist of the Year Awards.TANYA'S JOURNEYWe chat about what it's like running a membership, how she manages that one, what's involved, and how her business has evolved over the years from starting as a blog to the online resources and now, as the membership, the conference and the magazine. We also discuss how Tanya has made this work as she has raised her four young children, the challenges that she's had along the way, her advice to others that are looking to build their own successful businesses and what's next for her. BALANCING RUNNING A BUSINESS AND MOTHERHOODTanya is a mother of four and lives in Sydney. Tanya previously worked in human resource management and secondary teaching before becoming a mum and delving into the much more exciting world of kids' events. Being a mother and an entrepreneur can be both rewarding and extremely challenging. Finding the right balance between these two roles can sometimes feel like a juggling act and Tanya shares with us how she has built such an incredible business with the support of her family. She set realistic expectations for herself and her business and understood that you can't do everything all at once and it's okay to ask for help. There may be times when you have to prioritise one role over the other and that's when Mum Guilt will often rear its head but if you chat to your kids about why you're busy running your business you can instil in them amazing values and inspiration of running their own business one day. REMEMBER TO BE PRESENTI learned so much from this conversation with Tanya. Try to remember how precious our time is. If you're with your family or working in your business, try to be fully present and engaged. I know it's easy to feel guilty that you're not working full time in your business and answering every email immediately, or not spending every evening with your children but you're only one person and you're doing an incredible job so give yourself a break! I have something a little bit different for you this week where I swapped seats and was the guest on the Heart-Centred Business Podcast with host Tash Corbin. Tash is amazing and a friend of mine. I met her a few years ago at Denise Duffield Thomas's first ever Rose Farm retreat, and I just have so much respect for her. Tash is a marketing and business growth specialist, and she's also one of our members in The Modern Marketing Collective.INSTAGRAM: A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR BUSINESSSocial media has revolutionised the way businesses connect with their customers, and Instagram has emerged as a powerhouse platform for brands to showcase their products, services, engage with their audience, make connections and generate sales. Instagram is such a valuable platform for businesses to grow their presence and achieve their marketing goals. Listen in as I discuss with Tash how the value Instagram can offer business owners and share my own strategies to improve connection, promotion, engagement and sales. AVOID COMMON MISTAKESHowever, like any social media platform, there is the risk of comparisonitis, trying to copy strategies, following brand ideas that don't resonate with you, or feeling pressure to post huge amounts of content. I'll take you through how you can gain traction with only a handful of posts and use the algorithms to your advantage. CONTENT CONTENT CONTENTFocus your posts on four types of key content: connection, credibility, value and promotion. What is your audience going to get out of your content? What can you do to delight or inspire them with your own unique knowledge, advice and experience? You'll set your business up with a fabulous following if you address these key types of content. LEVERAGING AND SCALABILITYI share my own journey from where I started doing a whole mixture of things like copywriting, contracts, and strategy sessions before changing my business model to one that works for me. I talk about my own journey scaling my business so I could create space and time in my life with a business that worked around my own needs and goals. BUSINESS TAKING THE BACKSEATTash and I talk about how the birth of my newborn son impacted how I run my business. I needed to give myself headspace and time. I'm keeping myself flexible and adaptable by working out how to shrink and expand different parts of the pie depending on what's going on in life and what's going on in the business. We explore how Tash's health journey led her to needing eight months away from her business and doing the bare minimum. She shares how she kept her business running during that hectic time and how she has built herself back up again. As a business owner, you may feel guilty about taking a step back from your business, whether it's for personal reasons, health concerns, or simply needing a break. You may worry that you're letting your business and your team down or that it reflects poorly on your abilities as a leader. But here's the truth: taking care of yourself is not only essential for your well-being but also for the success of your business. Taking a step back from your business can actually be beneficial in the long run. It allows you to recharge, gain fresh perspectives, and come back with renewed energy and creativity. It can also help you delegate tasks to your team, foster their growth and development, and build a more resilient and sustainable business. Remember, you're not solely defined by your business. Give yourself grace and permission to take a step back when needed without feeling guilty. In life, you have to focus on what feels good for YOU. Don't be tempted to compare yourself to others. When you run a business, you're so privileged to be able to build a business in a way that suits your goals and life and when you need to take a step back, you can decide how that will look and how and when you'll return.HEART-CENTRED BUSINESS CONFERENCE 2023I'm speaking at the Heart-Centred Business Conference on the 18th to 21st May at Peppers in Noosa, Australia. In today's episode, I'm joined by the amazing Emily Osmond who will be talking about business by design! Emily is an international business coach, top-ranking podcast host (with listeners in more than 100 countries), and founder of the flagship membership, The Modern Marketing Collective, where she has helped almost 1,000 entrepreneurs to grow their dream business online. This brilliant episode ended up taking a bit of a turn... We started off talking about Instagram, why it's so valuable, some strategies to think of, and some common mistakes that people make... And then we ended up having a bigger conversation about building a business that aligns with your goals and your lifestyle, how to deal with some of the guilt and comparison-itis that comes when you need to take some time off from your business or you're not as focused on your business as you might normally be, and shaping your business model to work to your strengths, what you want to achieve, and what your goals for your lifestyle are (not just your financial goals). Do you have an overly complicated website with multiple offerings? Do you feel pressured to have so many programs, courses and services listed just to keep up with the competition? There are so many parts of running a business that can be challenging, but some of the most common complaints I hear are when business owners feel like they're drowning in offerings, using pushy sales methods, and completely lost on how to plan for the future. It's so important to make sure you're selling your product or service in a way that feels authentic and in alignment with you and your brand, while also making it super easy for potential clients to understand and engage with what you have to offer. LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK WITH A CASE STUDYToday's episode is a case study exploring how Michelle Johns has created a simple business that fits in around her life. Michelle is a leadership coach who supports women to become confident and empowered to successfully lead a team for the first time through a mix of coaching, training and mentoring. INTRODUCING MICHELLE JOHNSMichelle has more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the corporate world and has an extensive background in change management, qualifications in organisational psychology and leadership, and is passionate about bringing more feminine energy into the boardroom. I've been working with Michelle in The Modern Marketing Collective and on my retreats and I'm absolutely thrilled to be bringing all of her sage advice and experience to you today to help you simplify your business, structure your offers and find the best way of selling that feels good for you. THE NITTY GRITTYMichelle takes us through how she structures her program, private coaching, group mentoring sessions, and networking. Michelle explains what brings many of her clients to her business. Quite often it comes down to the environment they're working in, many in male dominated industries, and they're not being heard. Michelle will work together with them to find different strategies to manage those situations. SIMPLIFY YOUR BUSINESS I know that the process of simplifying a business is not always easy. You'll need to let go of non-essential products or services and rethink your marketing and sales strategies to better reflect your vision. You may also need to shift your mindset, as many business owners feel huge pressure to constantly add more features, products, or services in order to keep up with the competition.Michelle takes us through how she simplified her program structure, her overcomplicated website, and her offerings into a much simpler way of doing business and she feels far lighter now. She takes us through her marketing, lead magnets, experimenting, building credibility, and how she makes her business work around everything she enjoys in life. I recommend focusing on what truly matters to your ideal client and what fills you up with light and passion. By simplifying your business, you can create a much better customer experience for everyone involved and sell your products in your own way without feeling pushy or salesy. Listen in to hear Michelle's journey and how she has built a business she absolutely loves through simplifying, selling her way and using strategic focus to plan for the future. Small business owners often have to wear many hats and juggle so many responsibilities in order to keep their company running smoothly. While we know this can be rewarding, it can also be incredibly overwhelming, especially when trying to balance the day-to-day, time sucking operations with long-term growth, launches and sales strategies.CUE THE ONLINE BUSINESS MANAGERThis is where an online business manager can come in. An online business manager, or OBM, is a professional who works remotely to help manage the daily operations of a small business. OBMs can take on a wide range of tasks, from project management and delegation to financial planning and marketing. They act as a bridge between the business owner and the team and contractors working on the business, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals.INTRODUCING MY ONLINE BUSINESS MANAGER - CAT DUNNCat Dunn is my online business manager and I actually found her in The Modern Marketing Collective! Cat has spent 14 years across admin, marketing, and communications before starting her own business in 2022. Cat originally began as a virtual assistant before quickly moving into online business management where she is passionate about working with female coaches to help scale their businesses, make more money and impact more lives.Cat describes the difference between a VA and an OBM as the OBM is the architect and the VA is the builder. They work alongside each other and the rest of your team to ensure that everything runs smoothly and you have the space you need to create. DECIDING WHEN TO HIRESo, how do you know if hiring an OBM is right for your small business? Here are a few signs to look out for:You're feeling overwhelmed - If you're struggling to keep up with the demands of running your business, it may be time to bring on some additional support. You're not making progress towards your goals - If you're feeling stuck or like your business isn't growing as quickly as you'd like, an OBM can help you create a roadmap and keep your team on track. You're spending too much time on administrative tasks - As a business owner, your time is valuable. If you're spending too much of it on administrative tasks, an OBM can take those tasks off your plate and free you up to focus on more strategic activities.IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE RIGHT PERSON AND THE RIGHT FITOnce you've determined that hiring an OBM is the right move for your business, Cat takes us through how to find the right person for the job. Here are a few tips:Look for someone with experience - OBMs come from a variety of backgrounds, but ideally, you want to find someone with experience in your industry or a related field.Check their references - Make sure to speak with past clients and colleagues to get a sense of the candidate's work style and reliability.Set clear expectations - It's important to have a clear understanding of what you expect from your OBM and to communicate those expectations clearly from the outset.Start small - Consider starting with a small project or trial period to make sure the OBM is a good fit before committing to a longer-term contract.HOW TO BE A DREAM CLIENTCat shares her top tips on how to be a dream client for your OBM to ensure they can be effective and efficient in their role. You need to work together as a team, trust your OBM and provide the framework so you can build a truly rewarding relationship that allows you to focus and grow your business for years to come. Cat only works with clients where she feels she can care about their business as much as they do so I encourage you to find an OBM that truly cares and is passionate about what you do. Hiring an OBM can be a great way to take your small business to the next level. By delegating tasks and streamlining operations, you can free up more time to focus on growing your business and achieving your goals.LINKS: Where to find Cat Dunn: Website: https://msha.ke/itscatdunn.obmFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/itscatdunn.obm/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itscatdunn.obm/Join The Modern Marketing Collective to get booked out with clients: emilyosmond.com/collectiveDiscover your Marketing Personality Type in my free quiz, plus the specific resources to maximise your specific superpower! www.emilyosmond.com/superpowerFree Online Class: The 3 steps to turn your followers into clientsWebsite: https://emilyosmond.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/emilyosmond/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/emilyclareosmond
INTRODUCING EMMA MASLENToday on the show I'm chatting with the courageous Emma Maslen from Rescue My Resume. Emma helps professional women to achieve their next dream job through amazing, confidence boosting resumes and coaching to nail that dreaded job interview. WHERE IT STARTEDEmma started her business 5 years ago and would meet with her clients on a one-on-one capacity in cafes to write their resumes. Then covid hit and she had to change her business structure to move her packages online. She developed her website and packages over time and ended up with an extensive website that wasn't intuitive and clients had to go to multiple pages to find out what she actually offered. So she had to stop and reflect on what she actually liked working on the most, which was interview coaching. She simplified her packages and now includes everything from resume writing to LinkedIn profiles as well as interview coaching in an easy to find program that helps professional women walk into the interview room feeling confident, upbeat and positive. PRICING EVOLVES OVER TIMEEmma definitely experienced imposter syndrome in the beginning of her business. But over time she found confidence in her skills, knowledge and experience and felt empowered. The demand increased for her services and she was working around the clock so she started to regularly increase her prices and has built a powerful business structure that suits her, her family and the life she wants to create. REACH FURTHEREmma was mainly operating through a word-of-mouth marketing structure and then she found The Modern Marketing Collective which helped her market her business to a much greater audience and discover her passion for posting regularly on LinkedIn and using video marketing. She now has a great following and loves posting a mixture of educational posts, testimonials and sales posts in a very organic and authentic way. YOU CAN SAY “NO”Throughout Emma's business journey she's learned that sometimes working with a particular kind of client will not be worth the money. She's in a much better mental state if she doesn't have to deal with the stress of turning around and working with someone who is incredibly demanding. It's important to be discerning and find your ideal client to have a positive, successful and rewarding partnership throughout your business relationship. I loved listening to Emma's journey. If you're looking to improve your resume and interviewing skills, you can work with her in her online Not Just a Resume Template program, or 1:1 via her Resume Rescue, Next Level Career and Job Interview Coaching packages. I encourage you to learn from her triumphs and challenges, marketing strategies, how she maps content, her advice and the experience that has come from running a very successful business for over five years. In last week's episode - we looked at the ONLY three things you need to start making money in your business. We explored how once you are building momentum in your business and clients are starting to come to you, marketing strategies including creating strategic content, a high converting website, clear offer ecosystem, and an email funnel will SPEED UP your first $100k - and how we cover all of this in The Modern Marketing Collective Curriculum. But focussing on these things will SLOW YOU DOWN if you haven't got to a stage where clients start coming to you. This is why I created the $2k Challenge as the first step in The Modern Marketing Collective - to strip it all back to ONLY what you need to make your first $2k in business. In this episode, I'm sharing how to attract those first few clients. Many new business owners are too passive in this process. And we can diagnose this by asking just one question:Are clients actively coming to you?I.e. Are people reaching out to work with you and then paying you to help them?If your answer is “no” to this question, then there's just one thing you need to focus on: you need to go directly to clients. You do not WAIT for clients to come to you: you need to be active in attracting clients.I share how in this episode.LINKS:Free Online Class - The 3 Reasons Your Followers Aren't Converting to ClientsJoin The Modern Marketing Collective to get booked out with ideal clientsBooked out with clients and want to scale your time, impact and revenue with an online program? Most service business owners are overcomplicating making money in their business - especially when they are just getting started. They are worrying about getting a website, a suite of offers, lead magnets, a content strategy and more. Here's the thing: ALL of these strategies can make you MORE money. But you need NONE of these things to START making money.Once you are building momentum in your business and clients are starting to come to you, creating strategic content, a high converting website and an email funnel will SPEED up your path to your first $100k. But focussing on these things before you are making money will SLOW you down. This is why you're not making money now. You're focussing your attention on the wrong strategies for the stage in business you are at. You think that making money in your business should be more complicated than it really is. And so you are making it more complicated than it is.When really it's simple. You don't need to have 12 months of content mapped out. You don't need an email funnel. You don't need a high converting website. In this episode I, share the only 3 things you need to start making money now in your business, plus how one of our students from The Modern Marketing Collective applied this process and had her biggest revenue month in business.LINKS:Free Online Class - The 3 Reasons Your Followers Aren't Converting to Clients Join The Modern Marketing Collective to get booked out with ideal clients Booked out with clients and want to scale your time, impact and revenue with an online program? For many of my clients, their end goal is to help more people than they can with one- on-one clients, by creating a leveraged revenue stream in their business in the form of an online program. However! What often happens, is that they skip ahead before their business is ready by creating and launching an online program, without having demand for it.This can leave them without solid revenue (or any revenue at all) coming into the business, and a lot of unneeded stress in trying to sell something that their business - and audience - isn't ready for just yet.In this episode, I discuss the order of building a business that I recommend to my clients and why; the key benefits of working with clients before launching a program; and how important it is to create offerings based on demand from our audience. If you are not yet booked out with clients, join The Modern Marketing Collective at emilyosmond.com/collectiveIf you are booked out with clients and want to scale with an online program, join the waitlist for Scalable Mastermind at emilyosmond.com/scalable
Are you spending hours and hours creating content, emails and marketing and just not seeing conversions? In this episode, we'll explore how your marketing right now is creating future results. I encourage you to think about this as a lag period. The efforts you put in today will not be seen as results instantly (and that's OK!). This conversation is perfect for you if you're not seeing the results you would like from your marketing or not seeing the return of your efforts in your business. All of the quality content you share, the launches you spend so much time working on, your marketing and the relationships you are building will pay off with spectacular results down the road. We always think everything will be instant in our society but it can take clients a while before they're in the right space and time to commit to working with you and it can be that single piece of content or email you sent 3 months ago that pushes them to sign up. I'll take you through the business tracking method we use in The Modern Marketing Collective to find out how our past marketing is influencing our audience to become new members. You can use this in your business to find any patterns and areas where you should be spending more of your time and energy to see results in the future. In this special episode, I'm sharing with you why you want to enrol in The Modern Marketing Collective right now. We'll start by reflecting on your business to find whether your current marketing strategy (or lack thereof) is holding you back and stopping you from reaching more ideal clients who are excited to work with you. The Modern Marketing Collective is a 12 month experience so I'm not expecting you to cram everything into a few weeks! You'll have plenty of time and support to go through all of the content together and have access to regular group coaching calls with me where you can bring all of your questions and observations. Not to mention a private members podcast group, immediate access to the $2K Kick Off Challenge, and a community of like-minded business owners who are all passionate about supporting each other. My guest today is the creative and adventurous Rachel Clark. Rachel is a website designer who launched her own business, in branding and web design, to help service-based entrepreneurs and side-hustlers.In this episode, Rachel is here to share how she achieved clarity, confidence and consistent revenue in her website design business. We explore how Rachel's business has evolved over the 2 years it has been running, from Rachel doing absolutely everything she could to becoming very intentional with her offers. Rachel joined the Modern Marketing Collective 1 year ago and has thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the retreat, the community and the self-paced learning. In just 2 months following the retreat, Rachel had her very first $10k month backed up by a $7k month. She made $60k revenue in her first year and has already beaten that this year! We discuss the nervousness Rachel felt around marketing and using video and reels. Rachel was very shy about showing up on camera and she talks openly about how she turned that around and now absolutely loves doing her marketing using this quick and easy method. You'll find so much value in Rachel's experience and advice. She tells us to be confident in our own business and our worth. We need to learn to prioritise ourselves and our business by not letting other people's needs to always come first. My guests today are two of my students from the Modern Marketing Collective, Alicia and Jacinta who have built their own business, ‘The Little Potion Co.'. Alicia and Jacinta are sisters from Melbourne who create mindful potion kits for children that support their emotions and empower them to be confident and find their inner magic. In this episode, we talk about the practicalities, thoughts and feelings behind Jacinta leaving her corporate job, Alicia closing her other business, the challenges and wins, and how their business has grown over the last few years. One of the things my clients have in common is a desire to create more freedom in their business. They want more flexibility for family, to pursue other interests, and enjoy life without being restricted to a rigid schedule. Do you want the same thing? In this episode, I'm sharing 5 ways to create more freedom as a solopreneur. First, I share a bit about what a solopreneur actually is and then dive into how to create that flexibility we all desire. I talk about simplifying your offerings, using technology to help establish boundaries, and the benefits of outsourcing and using contractors. I discuss minimal, viable marketing and how many business owners are busy doing the easy work instead of focusing their efforts where they need to. I also talk about the importance of taking time off work for fun and how this contributes to you being more refreshed and productive in your business. These 5 tips are things that I have honed in my business and helped me create a smart, lean, and simple business with more revenue. I teach you how to do this and so much more within the Modern Marketing Collective - check it out!LINKS:Free Online Class: The 3 steps to turn your followers into clients: emilyosmond.com/freeJoin The Modern Marketing Collective to get booked out with clients: emilyosmond.com/collectiveApply for Elevate Business Retreat - The Winter Edition: https://emilyosmond.com/business-retreat Booked out with clients and want to scale your time, impact and revenue with an online program? Do you have a really effective offer ecosystem in your business? In this episode, we're discussing the importance of your offer ecosystem. I'll explore exactly what this means, what happens when you don't have it in place in your business, why you need it, what it looks like, and what happens when you have it in place. I'm so excited to be talking about this topic as it can make such a huge difference for your time, skills, sales and confidence. By creating a targeted and clear offer ecosystem, you'll build your expertise and clarity in exactly how you can help your clients and become known in your industry. I'll run you through how to do an audit and create intentional offers that serve you and your clients. Selling will become much easier because everything you offer is compelling and clear and you'll no longer have to run a ‘bitzer' business. What comes to mind when you consider success and failure? In this episode, I'm discussing how to build momentum in your business and what to do if you're struggling. Momentum is not about winning every time. It is built during the times when things are not working and it is completely dependent on how you respond. I'm often asked how I maintain my momentum building my business and reach success. It all boils down to staying committed to the process and releasing myself from the outcome. I'll run you through questions to consider to reflect on how you can build momentum when you're in the middle of road bumps. Just keep going - keep showing up for yourself and your business and you'll come out the other side. I'm also sharing some very exciting news about my next Winter Edition of the Elevate Business Retreat! Do you believe that your success is inevitable?Your belief in your vision is the only thing you truly need to get started. Everything else flows from there, including the ‘how'. This episode will inspire you to dig deep to examine the beliefs you hold about yourself, your business and your offerings. If you've been talking about starting a business, you're just starting out or you want to take your business to the next level, it all comes down to your belief. I discuss the relationship between your belief in what you have to sell and how this will flow through into your marketing, pricing, language and energy when it comes to selling. I share an example of when I invested into my own business and a case study from a client within the Modern Marketing Collective about how our beliefs shape our actions. Once you've listened to this episode, take the time to write some thoughts down to help you uncover your beliefs. Think about where you're at and where you want to be. What is holding you back? What makes your offer the best option for your ideal customer? What does power mean to you? Today's episode is from a live conversation I held on Instagram for International Women's Day with Kemi Nekvapil. Kemi is one of Australia's leading coaches for female entrepreneurs, an author and an incredible international speaker. Her mission is to help women to own their worth, find their power, and use their voices. Kemi discusses her book ‘Power: A woman's guide to living and leading without apology'. We all have power and Kemi breaks it down into her 5 key principles; Presence, Ownership, Wisdom, Equality and Responsibility. The theme for International Women's Day is ‘Break the Bias' but we also have to break the bias in our own heads. Don't wait for others to give you permission. Use the opportunity to be present in your life, take ownership over your path, sit with wisdom, know that you are equal to everyone in the room, and be responsible for your own privilege. Kemi shares her personal stories openly to illustrate her principles and how they have impacted her life. She is truly inspiring to listen to and I'm so grateful to be bringing you this incredibly important conversation. To take ownership of your power, grab a copy of her book today! How can we become more consistent with our marketing? I get this question all the time. I know it can feel so exhausting and overwhelming to keep coming up with quality strategic posts that aren't just superficial or surface level. But if you implement and plan your strategy, you'll be far more likely to stay on top of your content and keep showing up for your audience. In this episode, I'm discussing practical ways to help you increase your consistency. I'll also share the shift I made personally that has helped me immensely with staying consistent. It all comes down to what consistency actually means to you. Is it 1 post a week? Emailing your audience once a month? When you bring clarity to exactly what you want to aim for, enacting a plan becomes so much easier. I'm here to help you map it all out! Without the need to wait for those magical days when you're feeling 110% and ready to leap out on the camera. Welcome back in 2022! I'm so excited to be bringing you the very first episode of the year. As business owners, we always dedicate January to setting our intentions and to map out the year ahead. By chatting with my clients, I have found that many women have trouble setting their financial goals for their businesses because they're just not motivated by money. This often leads them to not meet these goals because they never really felt the drive to earn more. It can almost feel unsafe and uncomfortable to be earning more and more money. In this episode, I'll discuss the research and societal conditioning that has led women to have less of a drive to make money than men. We'll reframe our thinking by exploring the relationship between money and value. By focusing on the value you want to deliver to your clients, you can find motivation in a completely different way. I'm also thrilled to be sharing with you my new program! After the episode, head over to my website (links are below) to register right now to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
