During this walk, Trajuan tells us how he always gon be figure it out. A California native, Trajuan was a standout high school football athlete and ranked as one of the top running backs in his class. His athletic prowess and commitment to academics led him to Cal Berkeley, where he competed as a college athlete for two years before transferring to the University of New Mexico. While at UNM, he played football and pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. en route to earning his Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism. After working in news for a couple years, he returned to UNM and earned his Master's degree in Sport Administration. This guest has meaningful experience in higher education. He is a father, former coach, and current academic counselor and student-athlete development coordinator at the University of New Orleans. Coupled with his life journey and belief in the power of education, in 2020 he partnered with New Mexico's African American Student Services office to start the Trajuan Briggs Community IMPACT scholarship that would provide financial assistance to undergrad students at the institution. Since its inception, he has awarded more than $2,000 in scholarship money. He is ALL ABOUT IMPACT! But more importantly, He is strong. He is able. He is himself. During veterinary school, he found a love for giving back to the profession, and one of his proudest achievements is serving as SAVMA President. He is thankful for the opportunity to keep giving back as a VIN Foundation board member and excited for the future of the VIN Foundation.   Junior Saint Preux  Junior Saint Preux is a 4th-year student at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Orlando, FL he received his Bachelor’s of Biological Sciences from Bethune-Cookman University. After several twists and turns, Junior had to decide between his athletic career in track and field or continuing his education. Through the support of his fraternity brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., he made his way to Florida A&M University Pharmacy School for one semester before ultimately realizing the importance of being passionate about a direction. Junior knew a career in veterinary medicine was his calling with a desire to help both people and animals. Upon starting at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine he recognized an opportunity to improve the veterinary school experience for himself and his classmates. He began to dedicate his time to SAVMA and was elected Chapter President, where he focused his efforts on addressing the importance of diversity and inclusion and making Ross a safer and more welcoming campus for minorities and underrepresented students. Junior also collaborated with classmates to start the first student chapter of the National Association for Black Veterinarians, creating a safe space for African Americans and allies at Ross. Through this effort, they have also been able to mentor undergraduate students, create their own mentoring program to connect with alumni for guidance and collaborate with the school counselors to address issues regarding the mental health of the minority students. Antwan also won the 2018 Chicago Black Mall award for Best Media Company and Best Videographer. One of Antwan’s biggest milestones has been the publication of his book, Board Games, in 2018, which was #1 on Amazon’s new releases list for nearly a month. Board Games was conceived in 2014; however, in 2016, Antwan lost his zeal for the book for various reasons. However, after encouraging words from a deacon at church and a revelation from God, he regained his confidence and passion and finished writing the book in 2018. Earning his BA is Psychology with a Minor in Communications from Virginia State University, Don quickly jumped into his chosen profession with positions in Broadcast and Cable Television for a variety of organizations including NBC and the Washington DC Mayors office. By 2004, Don partnered with Gearshift TV to create cutting edge photographic and video art; quickly distinguishing the company from its peers. The Napoleon Complex project, Don’s documentary film house, is a powerful extension of his craft that enables Don to passionately convey the human experience in real environments. Gaining attention and accolades from Capitol Hill, TV Commercials, Documentaries to the NFL, his work has earned Don clients that include the National Football Leagues’ Players Association, Dream Works Pictures, HGTV, BET, TV One, the Tribute to Nelson Mandela, video and graphic support for the NAACP Awards, TV One’s Christmas show and political hearings with Senators and Congressman on Capitol Hill just to name a few.
