Rev. Senator Raphael Warnock was among those who got to pepper DHHS secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr., yesterday, and he zeroed in on comparisons RFK of the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Nazi camps and Catholic child sex abuse. Senator Ron Wyden also cornered RFK on his role in the deadly Samoean measles outbreak and Hawaii Governor Josh Green later dubbed RFK a liar. Just another day where a head-scratching Trump Cabinet appointee - having no business being there - gets scrutinized knowing Republicans will vote him in anyway; and. yet, I am somewhat conflicted. Hear why. JonJon Wesolowski, better known as "The Happy Urbanist" on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, recently pieced together a thread explaining in wonderful detail just how - in his home city of Chattanooga - immigrants preserved a vital part of American culture there. He was motivated by Ku Klux Klan leafleting a particular neighborhood while pointing to said neighborhood's - and his own - diverse history. Rep. Nancy Mace is sometimes too stupid to realize she's self-owniing. While continuing her newfound anti-trans trope on her Twitter/X account, she noted being the first female graduate at The Citadel (kudos!) - something MAGA trolls were quick to denounce as "DEI." They're not wrong: white women benefit heavily from diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, just as she did. Perhaps a little nepotism aided her, too, but ... Lastly, Jim Acosta signed off from CNN, leaving mainstream journalism with one less arbiter of truth to keep our news media from going off-the-rails. His message? "Don't give in to the lies; don't give into the fear. Hold on to the truth, and hope."

(AURN News) — The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention reported Friday that the E. coli outbreak connected to McDonald's Quarter Pounders has expanded, with 75 people now sickened across multiple states, including 22 hospitalizations and one death. Three additional states have been added to the affected areas which now stands at 13, according to the CDC. “Taylor Farms, the supplier of slivered onions to the affected McDonald's locations, has initiated a voluntary recall and has asked customers to stop using some onions while this investigation is ongoing. Food service customers were contacted directly and told to remove onions,” the CDC said. Despite the outbreak's expansion, officials stated Friday that "due to the product actions taken by both companies, CDC believes the risk to the public is very low." Health officials do advise getting medical attention for severe symptoms including diarrhea, fever above 102 degrees, vomiting, and signs of dehydration. E. coli symptoms typically emerge three to four days after exposure, with most cases resolving without treatment within a week. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Fentanyl is the "deadliest drug threat the United States has ever faced," according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 108,000 Americans died due to drug overdoses in 2023. Of those deaths, 75,000—or nearly 3 out of every 4—were caused by synthetic opioids, primarily fentanyl, according to the CDC. While the usual suspects, such as Mexican cartels, are aiding this crisis, another player across the Pacific Ocean is driving the crisis: the People's Republic of China.Unknown to many Americans, the Chinese Communist Party is actively funding, supporting, and pushing America's most deadly drug threat in history. An effective U.S. strategy to combat the international fentanyl trafficking industry must begin with the recognition that the United States lacks good-faith partners in both the Chinese and Mexican governments.

Latest Cattle Industry News Ponzi Scheme Cattle Company Sale Could Aid Investors According to Jeff Beach with the North Dakota Monitor, A North Dakota investor says the purchase of a financially troubled meat company is progressing with a percentage of the profits being used to pay back investors in the alleged Ponzi scheme over several years. Wylie Bice of Killdeer, who is among those who lost money by investing in Texas-based Agridime, told the North Dakota Monitor that a price has been agreed upon to buy the company. Bice said the offer is reasonable but several steps remain before the deal can close. The court-appointed official overseeing the company said in a July 8 update on Agridime.com that federal law requires three separate appraisals for each parcel of property being sold, “which is not a quick process.” The update did not say a deal has been reached, but when it is, it would be submitted to the court for a 30-day review and objection period before it can close. Bice said the final agreement would likely include a percentage of the profits of the company to be used to pay back investors over a designated period of years. Investors in several states, including a high concentration in North Dakota, lost millions of dollars by investing in Agridime. Agridime bought cattle, had them brought up to market weight at feedlots and processed in retail cuts of meat. The company then direct-marketed the beef through its website. It also sold investments in calves, promising as much as a 30% return on investment without having to do the work of ranching. The Securities and Exchange Commission in December accused the company of operating as a Ponzi scheme by taking money from new investors to pay off previous investors instead of investing that money into cattle. The North Dakota Securities Department said a Killdeer-based sales agent, Taylor Bang, earned $6 million in commissions from illegal cattle investment contracts through Agridime. Bang told the North Dakota Monitor in December that the figure was “way high.” While it is under investigation, a slimmed-down version of the company has continued to operate as American Grazed Beef. Bice said that if the deal is approved, he and his partners would likely keep the American Grazed Beef name. The investments in calves, however, would not be a part of the business plan. Bice, Bang, and other North Dakota investors lost an estimated $40 million in the Agridime scheme. Overall, investors in at least 15 states are out an estimated $191 million. The July 8 update also says investors should be notified by the end of the month with a calculation of what they are owed. Investors will have 30 days to review these calculations and notify the court-appointed receiver of any issues. “There were approximately 40,325 transactions made by Agridime between 2021-2023, and it took a bit of work in the company's bank records to determine what amounts were being paid to whom,” the update said. It also said a motion will be filed with the court outlining the forensic accounting analysis of Agridime between 2021 and December 2023. The motion “will provide insight into the company's operations during that time period and whether the company was paying returns on older investor contracts with money received from new investors.” CDC Investigating Multi-State Listeria Outbreak Connected To Sliced Deli Meat The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is investigating a multi-state Listeria outbreak linked to sliced deli meat, according to a release. The CDC said the outbreak has hospitalized 28 people in12 states and caused two deaths. The agency said it is working with USDA-FSIS to investigate the outbreak. Many affected individuals reported eating meats sliced at deli counters, which are known to be potential sources of Listeria contamination. Illnesses have been reported from May 29 to July 5. The two reported deaths occurred in Illinois and New Jersey. The actual number of cases may be higher as some individuals recover without seeking medical care and are not tested for Listeria. Public health officials are gathering epidemiologic data, including demographics and food history, to identify the outbreak's source. The CDC cautions anyone with a weakened immune system about eating meat sliced at a deli counter unless it has been reheated to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F or is steaming hot. Former President Donald Trump has declared his stance on the sensitive issue of abortion this Monday. This announcement put the brakes on swirling rumors concerning his potential strategy on this matter should the upcoming November elections sway in his favor. Through a video message on Truth Social, Trump presented his viewpoint—that the decision about abortion should be grounded in 'the will of the people' and ought to be legislated by respective states. The 45th President of the United States used the opportunity to highlight his contribution in nominating the Supreme Court justices whose ruling in the Dobbs case led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. This decisive judicial move spelled the end of half a century of a perceived constitutional privilege to get an abortion, redirecting this responsibility back to each state and the elected officials within them. Trump explained his perspective by stating, 'Now that abortion is legally acceptable wherever desired, its regulation should be the prerogative of states, through voting, through passing laws, or via a combination of both. Whatever the states decide ought to be universally accepted.' He emphasized the importance of public will, encouraging individuals to listen to their hearts, their faith, and their moral compass as they navigate this complex issue. Continuing his address, Trump stressed the need for people to do what is best for their families, their well-being, and more importantly, for the country. He urged listeners to exercise their rights by voting, emphasizing that ultimately, decision-making power lies in the hands of the citizens. Trump's speech underlined the need for citizens to make their views known, positioning them as the cornerstone of the final decision. While Trump acknowledged the convolution and emotional weight the abortion question often carries for voters, he reminded Republicans of their objective to triumph in elections to promote a healthy culture. He subtly nudged back at Democratic leaders and the campaign of President Joe Biden, which have been laser-focused on rallying voters around the theme of abortion, often posing Republicans as 'extreme' and potentially damaging to women's rights. 'Indeed, let your conscience guide your stance on this issue, but never forget the overarching goal: to win elections. This is a vital component in order to revitalize our culture, furthermore, it is crucial for the salvation of our nation, which, regrettably, is currently experiencing a downfall,' he argued. His emphasis on unity and togetherness seemed to suggest an urgent need for nationwide recovery and cooperation. Additionally, Trump advocated for abortion laws that extend exceptions in cases of rape, incest, and threat to the mother's life. This served as a testament to his nuanced approach to the debate, offering a balance that, while supporting a broader conservative stance, remained mindful of certain extreme circumstances. Uniquely, Trump began his video message with a robust endorsement of in vitro fertilization (IVF), a method where mature eggs are fetched from ovaries, fertilized by sperm in a lab, and, post fertilization, embryos are transferred to the uterus, as per the explanation given by the Mayo Clinic. This clearly signals his support to initiatives that can help bolster the creation and growth of American families. 'While guiding the Republican Party, my goal has always been to promote the development of prosperous, thriving, and healthy American families. Our target is to simplify the process for mothers and families to have children, not the opposite. We are, therefore, in full support of the provision of fertility treatments like IVF across all the states of our nation,' he asserted. His statement regarding IVF was delivered in the wake of a verdict reached by the Alabama Supreme Court. According to this ruling, frozen embryos produced during IVF are to be considered unborn children under state law. The Alabama Legislature subsequently passed legislation ensuring civil and criminal immunity to IVF clinics for any perceived harm or loss of embryos, now defined as humans under the state's wrongful death statute. In his proposition to delegate abortion laws to the discretion of individual states, Trump retorted to his earlier mention of a prospective federal legislation that would limit abortions beyond 15 weeks of pregnancy. It's important to note that if such a limit were put into place, most abortions would still be carried out as the majority occur within the first 13 weeks of pregnancy, as stated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Some leading pro-life organizations have requested Trump to consider enacting such law as a countermeasure to the Democrats' ploy to establish federal protections for abortion that would potentially override Roe v. Wade. This measure, encapsulated in the Women's Health Protection Act, could potentially usurp state laws and allow abortion to be carried out throughout the full term of pregnancy. Now that your child of over his or her most recent viral illness, when can he or she go back to daycare or school? How long are we supposed to isolate now if we test positive for COVID? That included COVID! 24 hrs fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications and symptoms resolved, you are good to go back! More good news! If your child is 5years or older, one vaccination with the most current vaccine is all that is needed!Listen for more details!

Authors: Veronica Oczkowski (MS4) and Andrea Brabant (rFM PGY-2) Content Expert and Reviewer: Dr. Matt Strickland According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), more than nine people die every minute from injuries or violence. A total of 5.8 million people of all ages and economic groups die every year from unintentional injuries and violence. The burden of injury accounts for 18% of the world's total diseases. Motor vehicle crashes alone cause more than 1 million deaths annually and an estimated 20 million to 50 million significant injuries; they are the leading cause of death due to injury worldwide. Traumatic presentations are unfortunately quite common, so it's important we get comfortable with a strong approach. Our goal today is in no way to complete an exhaustive review. That being said, we did our best to prepare a brief overview that allows us to cover the CCFP objectives. Get ready. This is a pretty robust topic to cover, so buckle up!!

When most people think about accessibility, the first thing that comes to mind are mobility challenges. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), approximately 61 million adults across the United States identify as having a disability of some kind. Some disabilities are not visible or obvious, like sensory or dietary needs. About 10% or 6.1 million people have hidden or invisible disabilities. People with hidden disabilities are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which includes being entitled to accommodations in lodging. What does this mean for our international travelers, though? How can travel advisors continue to provide stellar service through accommodations, amenities and cultural experiences as the country's aging population grows at a rapid rate? These and other questions will be explored in “Shifting Identities: Making Travel More Accessible”. This presentation will focus on five aspects of diversity – language, dietary restrictions, transportation, religion and technology – to share the impact of accessibility in travel. Take away: 1. Learn the accessibility features (and new logo) to highlight with travel amenities as a new approach to meeting the needs of your client. 2. Hear relevant examples of “travel gone wrong” to avoid. 3. Simulate how to ask the uncomfortable, but needed questions so your client enjoys the best travel experience from beginning to end. 4. Incorporate immersive cultural experiences for an inclusive travel itinerary while promoting repeat business. (They will tell their friends!) I did an episode about ACEs a long time ago. It was okay but I know a bit more now. At the time I said something to the effect, "Childhood isn't easy even in the best of families, but what if your family of origin contributed to your current condition? I'm not saying that it has, but what if it did?" That part was ok but listening to it now I did not fully define it or give examples. When you know better, you do better. This is probably a three part series about childhood events that might have contributed to an anxiety condition. Today we can exclusively report on a stunning new Freedom of Information Act disclosure from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in response to an inquiry about the so-called COVID vaccines, and in particular regarding the efficacy and usefulness of the so-called vaccines for people who had already had COVID. There exists thousands of years of knowledge about the effects of natural immunity—meaning the human body's natural ability to make antibodies for diseases which it has recovered from. Despite this mechanism being recognized since at least 430 B.C., the CDC insisted during the COVID pandemic that everyone had to take these so-called vaccines—including the naturally immune. What basis did the CDC have for making this claim? Incredibly, as they now admit in the new Freedom of Information Act disclosure, they had no basis other than the say-so of a bunch of authors who were sponsored by companies that manufacture the said vaccines. It is a scandal of epic proportions. Yet once again the media is silent. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

Halloween is just around the corner, which means spooky season is alive and well at NOT REAL ART. To get listeners into the spirit, we've got another episode of Art World Horror Stories on deck this week. If you missed last week's episode with muralist Amandalynn, head there now to hear about her terrifying fall from high-rise scaffolding and the slow but steady recovery process that followed. On today's episode, host and NOT REAL ART founder Scott “Sourdough” Power sits down with longtime friend and close collaborator Man One to discuss the graffiti artist's disastrous mural project for the Center for Disease Control (CDC). “This is one of those stories where it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse,” says Man One, an LA-based illustrator, curator, and entrepreneur who's been an active member of the art world for 20 years. “I'm going to forewarn you, this horror story gets worse!”From racial slurs and defamation to vandalism and cease and desist letters, the project was plagued by obstacles from the start. “Every single day, some old person would stop by, yell at us, flip us off,” Man One says. “This [was] the least threatening mural that I have ever done in my life, and [I was] getting the most flak that I've ever received!” The project's concept? A fun, colorful mural promoting the benefits of exercise and play for children in the neighborhood. “The first thing [this experience] did was open my eyes, not to be so naive about coming into a community [with a mural] and thinking that people are going to be on board just because it's a positive message.”Today's episode is peppered with unexpected surprises and a few life lessons from Man One himself. “Expect the unexpected,” he says. “As an artist, I always have to be aware that there's something that I'm not aware of. There's the unknown. There's something that I'm not seeing, but I've got to keep my ears and eyes open so that, when it shows up, I can address it, whatever it may be.” With more twists and turns than an M. Night Shyamalan film, Man One's horror story is one for the books. Tune into today's episode for a dose of art-world dread. Key Points From This Episode:The brief: a fun, high-visibility mural project promoting physical activity for kids.Cue the red flags, starting with getting permission from members of a gated community. The trouble that arose, even after the project had gotten the go-ahead.Racial slurs, cease and desist letters, defamatory newsletters, and more!Vandalism that took place just when Man One thought it couldn't get any worse. The insane lengths that those opposed to the mural went to (even suing the CDC!)Why Man One goes straight to the hood now when asked to find a wall for a project.Reflecting on the power of art to bring people together but also to divide.Lessons that Man One took away from this experience and how it impacted his practice. For more information, please visit http://notrealart.com/art-world-horror-stories-man-one

Episode 23:38 Considering A Booster Jab For Your Child? PLEASE Listen To This First The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently recommended that everyone get the new Covid Booster vaccine. This includes infants, children, and adolescents. WHY??? Needless to say, the topic of vaccines is controversial, but WHY would a booster be recommended for anyone under the age of 21? Will it prevent death? NO!!! Will it prevent a young person from getting Covid? NO!!! Will it prevent a young person from spreading Covid? NO!!! Truth be told, according to the CDC's own data, one million doses of the vaccine administered to youngsters “may” prevent ONE life. The key word there is “may.” The booster “may” prevent one death. However, the real TRUTH is that there is no data showing that any of the Covid vaccines have prevented ANY deaths in infants, children, and adolescents. Not only that… the CDC's own data admits that, given the same one million doses, there will probably be 100,000 - 300,000 negative side-effects including 50-300 cases of myocarditis. Side-effects from a jab that is supposed to be safe and effective? Yes! And, one of those side-effects for a young person IS myocarditis. But that's not all. Several countries including Japan, Germany, Britain and Australia are NOT recommending the booster jab for those under the age of 65. Why? What do they know that our CDC and FDA doesn't? Or, what is it that the CDC and FDA knows but isn't telling us? Are they more interested in following an agenda than they are the science? On this week's episode we take a deeper look into all things related to the booster vaccine. Be sure to give it a good listen and then share it with a friend. Thanks! ——————- Want to learn more? (AURN News) — There's a concerning spike in COVID-19 cases across the United States, as the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) paints a grim picture. Hospitalizations have surged by 15.7 percent during the week ending August 26th, compared to the preceding week, while COVID-related deaths have risen by a staggering 17.6 percent within the same timeframe. The CDC has also identified the emergence of the new variant, known as “BA.2.86,” as a potential contributor to the escalating infections. Their ongoing efforts to monitor and combat the virus's mutations have included extensive wastewater testing to pinpoint areas of spread and infection. The CDC also reports that approximately 97% of the U.S. population possesses antibodies against COVID. This immunity has been achieved through vaccination, prior infections, or a combination of both, known as hybrid immunity. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Recently, the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation was successful in applying for and receiving a specific ICD code (International Classification of Diseases code) for Phelan-McDermid syndrome from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Kate sits down with Annie Kennedy of the EveryLife Foundation, who has longstanding expertise in what a specific code can mean for progress for rare diseases. Kate asks - what exactly is an ICD code? What does this mean for progress in Phelan-McDermid syndrome research? Why didn't we have one already? Can it be used internationally? What was the process in getting one? What are some examples of progress after getting a code? What is the code not helpful for? Annie Kennedy is the Chief of Policy, Advocacy, and Patient Engagement at the EveryLife Foundation. She also previously served within the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Her work includes building strong partnerships with policy makers, federal agencies, industry partners, and alliances to advance research and access in rare disease. She has developed an ICD code roadmap with the EveryLife Foundation, has conducted economic burden studies in rare disease, led efforts for newborn screening, led access efforts after the first therapies were approved by the FDA for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and much more.

Professor George Gao, the former head of China's Centre for Disease Control (CDC) recently told the BBC that no theory for the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic should be ruled out including whether or not it came from a lab, after years of extremely insistent public denials from the Chinese leadership. Gao added that China investigated whether the virus may have originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology and admitted that he hadn't actually seen the results of the investigation, but heard that the Institute had been cleared. One Decision's Julia Macfarlane speaks with co-host and former MI6 Chief Sir Richard Dearlove about why China is speaking about the origins of the virus now, why he thinks it has zoonotic origins, and why he concluded there's a strong probability it was leaked from the Wuhan lab. The product, for which there is no substitute, is used in small quantities in munitions to ignite more powerful explosives…the factory remains offline, unable to deliver its single vital component to either commercial or Pentagon customers… Today that's emerging as a gnawing problem for the U.S., whether in supplying weapons and ammunition to Ukraine or in restocking reserves to prepare for a potential confrontation with China in the new era of great-power competition.” You can read Lubold full article here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-u-s-military-has-an-explosive-problem-6e1a1049?mod=hp_lead_pos7 5:05pm- The Drive at 5: During Thursday's House Judiciary Committee hearing on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Reform, Inspector General Michael Horowitz seemingly conceded that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has conducted more than 3 million warrantless searches of communications involving American citizens. This is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily Newsbrief for Thursday, November 3rd, 2022. Good to be back with you all, let’s get right into the news! https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/02/fed-hikes-by-another-three-quarters-of-a-point-taking-rates-to-the-highest-level-since-january-2008.html Fed approves 0.75-point hike to take rates to highest since 2008 and hints at change in policy ahead The Federal Reserve on Wednesday approved a fourth consecutive three-quarter point interest rate increase and signaled a potential change in how it will approach monetary policy to bring down inflation. In a well-telegraphed move that markets had been expecting for weeks, the central bank raised its short-term borrowing rate by 0.75 percentage point to a target range of 3.75%-4%, the highest level since January 2008. The move continued the most aggressive pace of monetary policy tightening since the early 1980s, the last time inflation ran this high. Along with anticipating the rate hike, markets also had been looking for language indicating that this could be the last 0.75-point, or 75 basis point, move. The new statement hinted at that policy change, saying when determining future hikes, the Fed “will take into account the cumulative tightening of monetary policy, the lags with which monetary policy affects economic activity and inflation, and economic and financial developments.” Economists are hoping this is the much talked about “step-down” in policy that could see a rate increase of half a point at the December meeting and then a few smaller hikes in 2023. This week’s statement also expanded on previous language simply declaring that “ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate.“ The new language read, “The Committee anticipates that ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate in order to attain a stance of monetary policy that is sufficiently restrictive to return inflation to 2 percent over time.” Stocks initially rose following the announcement, but turned negative during Chairman Jerome Powell’s news conference as the market tried to gauge whether the Fed thinks it can implement a less restrictive policy that would include a slower pace of rate hikes to achieve its inflation goals. On balance, Powell dismissed the idea that the Fed may be pausing soon though he said he expects a discussion at the next meeting or two about slowing the pace of tightening. He also reiterated that it may take resolve and patience to get inflation down. The rate increase comes as recent inflation readings show prices remain near 40-year highs. A historically tight jobs market in which there are nearly two openings for every unemployed worker is pushing up wages, a trend the Fed is seeking to head off as it tightens money supply. Concerns are rising that the Fed, in its efforts to bring down the cost of living, also will pull the economy into recession. Powell has said he still sees a path to a “soft landing” in which there is not a severe contraction, but the U.S. economy this year has shown virtually no growth even as the full impact from the rate hikes has yet to kick in. At the same time, the Fed’s preferred inflation measure showed the cost of living rose 6.2% in September from a year ago – 5.1% even excluding food and energy costs. GDP declined in both the first and second quarters, meeting a common definition of recession, though it rebounded to 2.6% in the third quarter largely because of an unusual rise in exports. At the same time, housing demand has plunged as 30-year mortgage rates have soared past 7% in recent days. On Wall Street, markets have been rallying in anticipation that the Fed soon might start to ease back as worries grow over the longer-term impact of higher rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained more than 13% over the past month, in part because of an earnings season that wasn’t as bad as feared but also due to growing hopes for a recalibration of Fed policy. Treasury yields also have come off their highest levels since the early days of the financial crisis, though they remain elevated. The benchmark 10-year note most recently was around 4.09%. There is little if any expectation that the rate hikes will halt anytime soon, so the anticipation is just for a slower pace. Futures traders are pricing a near coin-flip chance of a half-point increase in December, against another three-quarter point move. https://thepostmillennial.com/bidens-cdc-replaces-word-woman-with-pregnant-person-in-flu-vaccine-guidance?utm_campaign=64487 Biden's CDC replaces word 'woman' with 'pregnant person' in flu vaccine guidance The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has removed the word woman from sections of its safety guidance on flu vaccines during pregnancy. According to the Daily Mail, gendered terms such as woman, women, mother and she/her pronouns were all erased from the Q & A section of the Flu Vaccine Safety and Pregnancy page in August of last year. The words were replaced with gender-neutral language such as “pregnant people” and the gender-neutral pronoun “their.” However, the words woman and mother still appear in other sections of the CDC website, such as the Vaccines During Pregnancy FAQ page. “Influenza is more likely to cause severe illness in pregnant people,” says the CDC. “Flu shots given during pregnancy help protect the ‘pregnant parent’ and the baby from flu.” Those advocating for the use of gender-neutral language in the healthcare setting argue that the intention is to ensure that everyone feels included. So for example because a tiny number of females who identify as men may become pregnant, the word woman should be removed from maternity care to include them. But feminist campaigners have suggested that the so-called inclusive language only appears to go one way. Ovarian cancer apparently now affects “people” not women, but prostate cancer still affects men. Healthline referred to “men” and “vulva-owners” last year on its HPV information pages. Meanwhile, MedicineNet.com kept the definition of male as “the sex that produces spermatozoa” but redefined female as being a complicated mix of chromosomal anomalies and gender identity. This has led some to speculate that this new inclusive language is not so much about being inclusive of everybody and more about ensuring that the word woman is never used in a way that excludes males who identify as women, while at the same time not reminding those males of their biology. The company has seen its stock plummet throughout 2022, shedding more than 70% of its value from the start of the year as it fell from over $330 per share in January to nearly $90 per share this week. The company's market cap has also plunged from its high last year, dropping from just over $1 trillion in August of 2021 to under $250 billion in November. Investors, meanwhile, are reported to be unhappy with the company's business direction, specifically founder Mark Zuckerberg's fixation on the virtual reality "metaverse," a project that has generated relatively little excitement outside of esoteric tech circles. Jim Tierney, an investment officer for Meta shareholder AllianceBernstein, told the Financial Times that, had any other company plowed so much money into a strategically dubious project, "you’d have activist investors writing letters, proposing alternative slates of directors, demanding change." David Older, an asset manager at Carmignac, claimed that Zuckerberg has been "tone-deaf to the investment community, doubling down on everything." “The timeline for the metaverse is very stretched. I don’t think you’re going to know if it is the right move for five or 10 years," he told FT. Meta, meanwhile, told FT that the company "value[s] the opinions of our investors and regularly engage with them to ensure we’re aware of their respective perspectives.” https://www.foxnews.com/us/kansas-woman-helmed-female-isis-battalion-sentenced-20-years-prison Kansas woman who helmed female ISIS battalion sentenced to 20 years in prison Allison Fluke-Ekren, a 42-year-old woman who grew up on a farm in Overbrook, Kansas, was sentenced to two decades in prison on Tuesday for leading the Khatiba Nusaybah, an all-female ISIS battalion in Raqqa, Syria. Fluke-Ekren's own children asked the judge to hand down the maximum sentence, 20 years, during victim impact statements at the hearing. Fluke-Ekren tearfully spoke to the judge before her sentencing. "I deeply regret my choices, but I also deeply sympathize with women abused and raped in Syria." In a plea deal made with the government, Fluke-Ekren admitted she translated and analyzed documents taken from the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, after the terrorist attack on the facility in 2012. She tried to explain to the court some of her actions during the seven years she spent in Syria. "I was afraid of my conduct in Benghazi. I just didn’t see a way out." Fluke-Ekren also stressed that for most of her time in Syria, she had been just a mother, caring for her several children as well as other children and their mothers. Federal Judge Leonie Brinkema said she did not find Fluke-Ekren’s claims "wholly credible," saying she had "downplayed the impact" of her role in the Benghazi attack. The judge continued, "There’s no question you were providing material support for a terrorist organization," and emphasized several times during the hearing that was the crime for which Fluke-Ekren would be sentenced. Earlier in the sentencing hearing, two of Fluke-Ekren’s adult children gave emotional statements against their mother. Layla Ekren was visibly trembling in court for nearly an hour before she got her chance to tell Brinkema that her mother abused her as a child. She told the court about one instance in Syria when the family had lice, and her mother held her down on the ground and poured the medicine on her eyes in an apparent attempt to blind her. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Raj Parekh laid out the allegations against Fluke-Ekren in a sentencing memo, writing that she urged a woman to commit a suicide bombing and told others that her oldest son was born after she was raped by an American soldier as a way to gain favor with other terrorists. https://justthenews.com/world/middle-east/united-nations-orders-israel-get-rid-nuclear-weapons United Nations calls on Israel to get rid of nuclear weapons The United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution calling on Israel to dispose of all of its alleged nuclear weapons and to put its nuclear sites under the jurisdiction of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The resolution, led by the UN's First Committee, which deals with nuclear disarmament, passed 152-5 over the weekend. Egypt submitted the resolution to the General Assembly in New York with sponsors including the Palestinian Authority and 19 countries including Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, the Jerusalem Post reported. The five countries that opposed the resolution were Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States. Twenty-four countries including European Union members, abstained from the vote. Israel has never admitted to having nuclear weapons but is widely believed to have them. Israel is one of the few U.N. member states that has not signed the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty. Iran is a signatory on the treaty, but international authorities believe that Tehran may already possess nuclear weapons. The resolution, on the "risk of nuclear proliferation in the Middle East," did not include Iran. The resolution calls on Israel "to accede to the Treaty without further delay, not to develop, produce, test or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons, to renounce possession of nuclear weapons and to place all its unsafe guarded nuclear facilities under the full scope of Agency safeguards as an important confidence-building measure among all States of the region and as a step toward enhancing peace and security." https://news.yahoo.com/dwyane-wades-ex-wife-fears-175220499.html Dwyane Wade's Ex-Wife Fears He's 'Pressuring' Zaya Into Name And Gender Change For Financial Gain Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, the star’s first wife and mother of his two oldest children, filed paperwork this week asking a judge to postpone their daughter Zaya’s sex change until she’s 18. In Funches-Wade plea to the judge, she claims the NBA star is exploiting their daughter for financial income. According to The Blast, Funches-Wade has sentiments about Zaya being pressured into the permanent change by Dwayne. “I have concerns that (Dwyane) may be pressuring our child to move forward with the name and gender change in order to capitalize on the financial opportunities that he has received from companies,” she said in her legal filing. The filing was in response to an August petition by Dwayne asking permission for Zaya to legally change her name from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. Zaya came out as transgender in 2020 at the age of 12. Dwayne’s argument concerning his ex-wife’s petition was acknowledging that he is the legal guardian of their children and has the legal right to make decisions on his daughter’s behalf. Funch-Wade says during a conversation in April, Dwayne told her “a lot of money had been already made, and that additional money will be made in relation to our child’s name and gender issue.” Funch-Wade alleges her ex-husband only informs her of their children’s life choices out of ‘courtesy’ but states she wants to be hands-on in all decisions affecting the children. She also claims he is legally required to consult her on “major decisions affecting care, welfare, activities, health, education and religious upbringing.” Funch-Wade and Dwayne will have a hearing in December to determine whether Zaya can change her name and sex without her agreement.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is scheduled to meet on Wednesday and Thursday to discuss, amongst other topics, whether to include the Covid vaccines and other vaccinations into their child and adolescent immunization schedule. According to WBOY, the CDC is considering adding the vaccine to their schedule in order for it to be covered under the federally-funded Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and other programs. In order for vaccines to be covered under health plans, shots must be approved by the CDC director, and appear on the CDC’s immunization schedule, according to a document from the CDC. According to the CDC, VFC is a federally funded program that provides vaccines to children at no cost to families. The CDC’s immunization schedule for kids is seen as a recommendation for parents and physicians on when certain vaccines should be administered. The schedule also serves as a building block for school districts nationwide, many of whom chose to follow these guidelines as requirements for children to enter public schools. The inclusion of the Covid-19 vaccine on this schedule could give the green signal for school districts to enforce mandates on their students, with some schools across the country pausing their mandates over low vaccination numbers in minors. Many European nations have said that Covid vaccines are not necessary for children. https://thepostmillennial.com/abc-news-investigative-producer-disappears-after-fbi-raid?utm_campaign=64487 ABC News investigative producer disappears after FBI raid, was working on book about Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal An award-winning ABC News national security investigative producer has seemingly gone missing following an FBI raid on his home in April for unclear reasons. James Gordon Meek was in the process of writing a book on the Biden administration's controversial withdrawal from Afghanistan when his neighbors spotted armored vehicles outside of his home, and he hasn't been heard from since. Meek, 52, was best known for his breaking news stories on high levels of corruption within the US military. His bombshell report of the Army’s coverup of the fratricidal death of Pfc. Dave Sharrett II in Iraq landed Meek a meeting with then-President Obama. He seemed to be at the height of his career, with nine years at ABC, a newly-released documentary on Hulu, and a book on the way. That's why so many are baffled at his mysterious and uncharacteristically abrupt disappearance. It was on April 27 of this year when police cruisers and unmarked utility vehicles were spotted blocking the street outside of Meek's Arlington, Virginia apartment building, according to a Rolling Stone report. That was around the time of his last online activity, with one last "like" being sent from his Twitter account on May 2. Since then, he's been silent. An FBI representative confirmed that agents were present that morning "at the 2300 block of Columbia Pike, Arlington, Virginia, conducting court-authorized law-enforcement activity." "The FBI cannot comment further due to an ongoing investigation," they said. A federal magistrate judge signed off on the search warrant the day before the raid. In accordance with a new policy enacted last year, federal prosecutors are not allowed to seize journalists' documents without approval from the Deputy Attorney General, meaning that Biden-appointed Lisa Monaco had to have given her blessing if that's what the raid was for. Despite the bureau's involvement, Meek has not been charged with any crime. Anonymous sources claimed to Rolling Stone that federal agents found classified information on Meek's laptop, but the contents of said information are unknown at this time. His lawyer, Eugene Gorokhov, responded to the claims. "Mr. Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents. If such documents exist, as claimed, this would be within the scope of his long career as an investigative journalist covering government wrongdoing. The allegations in your inquiry are troubling for a different reason: they appear to come from a source inside the government. It is highly inappropriate, and illegal, for individuals in the government to leak information about an ongoing investigation. We hope that the DOJ [Department of Justice] promptly investigates the source of this leak." Still, no comment on where exactly his client is. https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/10/19/abrams-you-can-fight-inflation-by-aborting-more-babies-you-know-n504398 Stacey Abrams suggests having an abortion as solution to inflation: 'Economic realities of having a child' Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was criticized on Wednesday after suggesting that having an abortion could be a solution to high inflation and claiming that "having children" is why people are worried about the price of gas and groceries. https://twitter.com/i/status/1582726622859624449 - Play Video 0:00-1:32 Abrams made her remarks a day after President Biden pledged that if Democrats keep control of Congress, he will codify in January the federal right to abortion once granted by the recently overturned Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. At no point during the speech did the president, who was a freshman senator nearly 50 years ago when Roe v. Wade was decided in January 1973, mention inflation or the economy. The same day, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rejected a New York Times poll that found voters believe the economy and inflation are the top two issues facing the nation, calling it an “outlier.” Abrams said at the end of September that there was "no such thing" as a fetal heartbeat at 6-weeks. https://thepoliticalinsider.com/fake-news-zelenskys-famous-quote-of-need-ammunition-not-a-ride-never-happened/ Fake News: Zelensky’s Famous Quote of ‘Need Ammunition, Not a Ride’ Never Happened A senior official claims that a famous quote by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky appears to be fake news, war propaganda. The quote about needing ammunition helped catapult his credentials as a defiant wartime leader. The revelation came amidst a sprawling report by the New Yorker on the Biden administration’s support for Ukraine, which is far more extensive than previously known and includes operational planning at the highest levels. But Zelensky’s famous line – “I need ammunition, not a ride” – and the fact that it may have been completely fabricated and promoted by the media ad nauseam casts a further pall on a war narrative that has at times seemed crafted by the heavy hand of a former actor. From the New Yorker: Two days into the invasion, the Associated Press reported that Zelensky had rejected a U.S. offer to evacuate him from Kyiv, saying, “I need ammunition, not a ride.” A senior U.S. official said, “To the best of my knowledge, that never happened.” The official added, “But hats off to Zelensky and the people around him. It was a great line.” If you’re searching for evidence that the American media are perfectly fine with helping to perpetuate falsehoods in the war effort in Ukraine, you need look no further than the Washington Post and fact-checker Glenn Kessler. Kessler analyzed the claim that Zelensky had uttered the quote: “I need ammunition, not a ride.” Though he admitted the claim was not easily verifiable, he concluded using Zelensky’s press secretary that “the quote, even if not accurate, reflects the moment.” At least he tried. The rest of the media simply ran with it. This isn’t the first time stories coming out of Ukraine had proven to be completely orchestrated in an effort to drum up emotional support from the United States. Around the same time as the Zelensky ‘ammunition’ quote, a story was developing about a defiant group of 13 Ukrainian border guards defending Snake Island in the Black Sea who reportedly told a Russian warship to “go f*** yourself” after being ordered to surrender. The 13 Ukrainian border guards were initially widely reported as killed as the Russian warship opened fire with barreled guns and aircraft bombing Snake Island. Zelenskyy said during a press briefing that the guards died “heroes” and even said the 13 would be posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. It was later reported they were still alive and in Russian captivity. Then, of course, there is the infamous ‘Ghost of Kyiv‘ propaganda promoted by some prominent figures here in the United States. Some, like Rep. Adam Kinzinger, were so willing to believe the story they promoted fake images of a meme-character known as Samuel Hyde. It’s breathtaking the number of stories like the Zelensky ammunition fairytale that have been thrust upon the American people as a means to justify the absurd level of financial and military support being offered to Ukraine at our expense. Fox News host Tucker Carlson has seemingly had enough, eviscerating Zelensky for making further outrageous demands for financial aid while the United States economy, and the American people, are suffering. https://twitter.com/i/status/1580717198703611904 - Play Video “Zelenskyy is now shaking down our cowardly Congress for more cash at the very moment our own economy and our own borders are collapsing,” Carlson added.
