Patreon.com/RememberTheGame It's one of our illustrious Patreon Poll winning episodes this week, and the winner in question is The Legend of Dragoon for the original PlayStation, which overcame 7 other JRPGs to get itself an episode of RTG. This one was tough for me, because I didn't play it growing up, so I don't have the rose coloured nostalgia shades we all wear when we look back at the games we grew up with. I also don't love the JRPG genre as a whole. That said, I might not have loved this game, but I see why so many do. I think I give it the "tough but fair" treatment, and while the cons didn't sit all that well with me, there's some definite pros here, too. My buddy Keegs DID grow up playing this one, and he's a pretty big fan. We spent over an hour talking about the funky combat, the awesome soundtrack, the weird-ass story, and everything in between. And before we fuck up another one of Albert's additions, I slap together another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'! This week, someone writes in to defend soccer (football, whatever). If you could only play one, would you play all the games PRIOR to the PS2 era, or all the games after it?? And what do I want to see in Tears of the Kingdom? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 of the PSone's biggest RPGs: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Suikoden II.

Well I'll tell you what, that daggum Kat recently got herself in a whole heap of Twitter trouble when she sassed Legend of Dragoon. On this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God, Kat apologizes for her sharp words -- but she also struggles to understand why half the internet is still nostalgic for this underachieving Sony RPG. To that end, Kat, Eric, and Nadia invited YouTuber (and Legend of Dragoon fan) SuperDerekRPG to the show. They have a grand ol' time talking about this (misunderstood?) game, and about retro RPGs in general. Also in this episode: Shin Megami Tensei V is very good, and open wide because here comes a deluge of Elden Ring information.

In yet another shift in scheduling, this will be the final episode for Legend of Dragoon, covering Disc 3, Disc 4, and our wrap up thoughts on this gem of a JRPG. Marvel at Ethan barely masking his apathy, and Joe keeping the ship afloat like a true sweet boy. With this episode we are ending our first baby season, taking a three week break, and we will be back in March with more sweet boy fun and adventure.
Here we are with part 2 of 4 episodes on The Legend of Dragoon. The next episodes will come out on a weekly basis versus a bi-weekly basis, as we decided after recording to give ourselves some time to play a new game, but didn't want to leave your hanging for a month to get the full Legend of Dragoon experience. This episode covers the entirety of disc 2; all I'll say is that I hope you like bandits!
Them Sweet Boys dip back into the PS1 JRPG well for a truly bitter draught. Ethan is in a burning rush of rage, while Joe just wants more and more! This PS1 swan song is a whole heaping helping of issues all wrapped in the most cinematic presentation that the poor little console could muster. The narrative follows the story of Dart Feld and his companions, who become the next generation of Dragoons in a millennia old war against the evil race of wizard-demons, the Winglies. Is there something worth salvaging in this four disc epic?
It's episode two of JRPGs and Me! This time around, Austin is discussing one of his favorite JRPGs of ALL TIME: The Legend of Dragoon, which originally released on the Playstation in 2000 in the U.S. In the beginning, we explore the big names associated with the game and some behind-the-scenes fun facts that go along with Sony pushing to get a successful new IP. During the personal experiences part of the show, Austin talks about the way The Legend of Dragoon pulled bits from other, more famous JRPGs to make a nice Greatest Hits album for JRPGs in the 1990s. He also shares his personal feelings on robots in legislature, getting lost in the desert, feeling cocky at school after beating a boss, and some of the ways the dialogue feels outdated. Plus, are we ever getting a remake or sequel? Ehhhhh...maybe? Thanks to bensound.com for supplying the music. You can follow Austin on Twitter @DragonQuaustin or check out his other podcast, Dragon Quest FM.

Chris and Kyle are back talking comics this week as they continue their season long breakdown of the events happening in the world of the X-Men. The Dawn of X era is well underway and the mutant nation of Krakoa is coming together well, or is it? Focusing on issues 5-9 of X-Men, Excalibur, X-Force and Mauraders the guys break down the most significant events and share their thoughts about what is happening to their favorite mutant heroes! Is Professor X's plan working out as expected? Are some mutants beginning to question what is happening? Time will certainly tell...Last week they asked the GeeK KetchUP community for feedback on Which video games from the past they would most like to see completely remade and the feedback was extensive! Chris and Kyle tallied up more than 65 games and created their Top 10. Which games made the list and which is the most wanted remake?Wrapping up Chapter 13 the guys then jump into an Image Comic that has all of their attention right now...Die! Volume 2 (issues 6-10) picked up directly when the opening issues left off and did not disappoint. Taking Ash, Angela, Sol, and the party deeper into the violent and gritty world. Stick around until the end to catch all their thoughts on where this story is going and how the main characters continue to develop in intriguing ways. Treasure Trove is all about bringing to light great, lesser appreciated games that are out there waiting to be played. This week I bring you a JRPG classic from the end of the PSOne's life cycle: The Legend of Dragoon. In an attempt to not be overshadowed by the industry titans Square and Enix, Sony dropped 3.5 years and millions of dollars into one of the most overlooked JRPG's of the time period. Do you like JRPG's? Do you like dragons and fantasy settings? Then listen to why The Legend of Dragoon deserves a spot on your digital shelf.
