Anfang Februar endet in allen Bundesländern die Maskenpflicht im öffentlichen Personennahverkehr und im bundesweiten Fernverkehr. Dann ist die Maske nur noch in Gesundheitseinrichtungen Pflicht, also in Krankenhäusern, Pflegeheimen, Arztpraxen. Aus dem Gesundheitsministerium hören wir, es sei in der derzeitigen Infektionslage an der Zeit, wieder auf die Eigenverantwortung der Menschen zu setzen und nicht mehr auf Vorschriften. Wir können also wieder freier durchatmen und uns ins Gesicht schauen. Und dabei auch zurückblicken auf die Zeit unter der Maske. Wie hat sie uns verändert? Wie viel Freiheitseinschränkung war der "Schnutenlappen", wie viel Sicherheit hat uns die Maske vermittelt? Und vor allem: Wie gehen wir jetzt um mit der wiedergewonnenen Freiheit? Kommt da vielleicht auch wieder die Lust an der Maskerade zurück?

Die Kontroverse um Kings literarischen Wert muss an dieser Stelle nicht wiederholt werden (obwohl wir es im Laufe dieser Rubrik tun müssen), der Autor selbst hat sich seine Falle von Anfang an selbst gestellt: Wer seine eigene Arbeit als literarisches Äquivalent eines Burgers mit Pommes bezeichnet, wird schließlich von einer wenig gebildeten Öffentlichkeit auch so wahrgenommen. Das Problem an der Sache: es stimmt nicht, aber das bemerken jene, die tatsächlich nur Burger mit Pommes lesen ohnehin nicht, und die Kettenhunde der elitären Maskerade rümpfen oftmals die Nase, ahnungslos von allem, was nicht auf der Liste steht, die ihnen ihre Eltern, ihre Lehrer und später die guten Kreise, in denen sie verkehren, in die Hand und ins Hirn gedrückt haben. Willkomm zu meinem Podcast "ERKENNEN ERINNERN ERLEBEN - Der Weg zu DIR selbst". Mein Name ist Witalij Deifel, ich bin Mindset Coach für eine tiefgründige und nachhaltige Veränderung. Das Leben ist wie eine Maskerade, wir spielen immer nur eine Rolle. Die meiste Zeit meines Lebens hab ich irgendwelche Rollen gespielt. Ich wollte dazugehören, geliebt, anerkannt und respektiert werden. Oft hab ich wirklich alles gemacht, um der Erwartungshaltung im Freundeskreis, dem Umfeld oder der Arbeit gerecht zu werden. Mit der Zeit wurden es immer mehr Masken. Mit 38 Jahren kann ich rückwirkend Folgendes sagen: In der Regel habe ich immer nur eine Rolle gespielt, doch selten konnte ich mich so zeigen, wie ich wirklich bin. Erst mit 33 Jahren hab ich angefangen, meine Masken abzulegen. Mit jeder Maske, die ich abgelegt hatte, durfte ich meinem Kern näherkommen. Die Maskerade kehrt zurück! Während alle Welt gespannt auf Bloodlines 2 wartet und mit Blood Hunt ein eher weniger mit der Maskerade zu tun habendes Battle Royal erschienen ist, bringt Publisher Nacon zusammen mit Big Bad Wolf ein etwas anderes Rollenspiel auf dem Markt. In Swansong spielen wir drei unterschiedliche Protagonisten, jeder mit seinen eigenen Ambitionen, in welchen wir in der Welt der Vampire einen spannenden Krimifall lösen dürfen. Toll hierbei ist, dass wir jeden der drei Protagonisten bezogen auf die Skills, frei nach unserem Belieben anpassen können. So können wir also selber entscheiden, soll Emem unsere Detektivin sein, die entsprechend in den Dialogen die passenden Fragen stellt, oder lieber doch Leysha oder Galeb? Wer soll mit der Psyche anderer spielen? Auch toll sind die Konfrontationen, die wir am Ende einer Szene mit einzelnen Charakteren führen dürfen. Diese sind mit einem Bosskampf vergleichbar und hier kommt es darauf an, wie man unseren Gegenüber am besten überzeugen will. Schade ist nur, dass es sehr wenige, kaum herausfordernde Rätsel gibt und man im Prinzip nur von A nach B rennt und den Dialogen lauscht….

Im Jahr 2006 veröffentlichte eine merkwürdige Internetfigur namens Shaye Saint John skurrile Videos auf der damals noch völlig neuen Video-Plattform YouTube. Sie erschreckten, verstörten und faszinierten die Netz-Community. Eines der bis heute bekanntesten, nannte sich "Hand Thing". In dieser Folge gehen wir dem Netzphänomen Shaye Saint John nach und schauen hinter die Maskerade.

Das Prinzip „Consciousness“ ist vielen von uns weniger nah als die Prinzipien „Mind“ (die Energie und Intelligenz hinter allem Leben) und „Thought“ (Gedanke). Denn unser Verstand weiß nicht um das Bewusstsein in uns. Unser Bewusstsein kann sich aber selbst begreifen. In dieser Episode zeigt Shailia auf das Feld des Bewusstseins auf und erklärt, wie sich das Leben dort in verschiedenen Formen und Erfahrungen zeigt und fühlbar macht. Und auch wie diese Formen, Erfahrungen und Eindrücke wieder von allein verschwinden. Als würde das Leben Faschingsball spielen, um sich selbst zu amüsieren. Und von dieser Maskerade und der Musik sind wir oft so sehr angezogen, dass wir uns darin total verlieren. Das ist ein wunderbarer Teil des Spiels „Leben“.

Arts journalist, critic and broadcaster Richard Watts joins Liz and Ben on a trip sideways in time with reluctant wizard Mervin (with a V) in Pratchett's 1995 short story "Once and Future", originally published in the Arthurian collection Camelot. As he stands on the beach waiting for the right hopeful king to come along, professional time traveler Mervin recounts his story of how he became stranded in a sideways version of medieval Britain. Here the stories of Arthurian myth are more or less real - though one notable figure is missing... With his knowledge of modern technology, a stash of emergency supplies and help from sharp local girl Nimue, he has a plan to fill the gaps in this other history... Pratchett explores a new angle on the Matter of Britain, mixing sci-fi and engineering into a story about stories and "a world that's not exactly memory and not exactly story". Published in between Interesting Times and Maskerade, but stewing in his head for a decade before that, it features some of Pratchett's most developed ideas about time travel, and was something he was proud and fond of. He even thought of turning his more extensive writings for it into a novel! Did you enjoy Pratchett's take on the practicalities of time travel? He's also written for roleplaying games including Call of Cthulhu, Elric!, Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Wraith: The Oblivion. Fresku is rapper, acteur en cabaretier. In 2010 verscheen zijn debuutalbum Fresku, waarop in 2012 het album Maskerade volgde. Autist*innen maskieren, um in der nicht-autistischen Welt nicht aufzufallen, denn das bedeutet meist Abwertung der autistischen Persönlichkeit. Aber auch nicht-autistische Menschen maskieren. Für mich stellt sich ihr Gruppenverhalten als neurotypische Maskerade dar. Es geht primär um die Gruppenzugehörigkeit und den eigenen Status in dieser Gruppe. Da gibt es - ungeschriebene - Gruppencodes, die einzuhalten sind und vor allem aus Floskeln und gespielter freudiger Zusammengehörigkeit bestehen. Es geht um Taktikspiele: Was sage ich wem wann und wie? Was man am wenigstens erwarten darf: Ehrlichkeit. Diese neurotypische Maskerade wird in der Dokumentation "Kevin Kühnert und die SPD" sehr deutlich. Sogar die Dokumentation selbst ist ein Instrument dieser Maskerade, sie wird von Kevin Kühnert instrumentalisiert. Aber mir geht es nicht um Politik, sondern um die Verhaltensweisen, das Zusammensein und -spiel in neurotypischen Gruppen. Ihre Mechanismen und Regeln lassen sich aus der Dokumentation sehr klar extrahieren.
