Piše Miša Gams, bereta Eva Longyka Marušič in Aleksander Golja. Roman Vanja je zadnji del Möderndorferjeve trilogije, ki vključuje še romana Odštevanje ter Zvezda, žlica in ura. Čeprav se trojica vsebinsko, vsaj na prvi pogled, ne navezuje druga na drugo, lahko med njimi opazimo vzporednice: posledice, ki so jih v protagonistih pustili druga svetovna vojna in njihov ambivalenten odnos s svojci oz. predniki. V nasprotju s prejšnjima romanoma, ki se odvijeta v 24 urah, v njem sledimo celotnemu življenju rdečelasega Ivana, edinega sina očeta, ki ga je zaznamovala vojna v Galiciji in jo v trenutkih vinjenosti izpoveduje otrokom: “Včasih smo bili tako lačni, da smo v blatnih jarkih s tal pobirali bruhanje svojih kolegov. Bruhke smo natikali na zobotrebce in jih jedli. Nad nami pa so švigale granate. Mreža neprekinjenega streljanja. Tik nad glavami. Nič posebnega ni bilo, če je tvojemu najboljšemu kameradu nenadoma odtrgalo pol obraza. Sploh me ni več prizadelo. Kot da je to nekaj običajnega. In je tudi bilo. Saj se je dogajalo vsak dan. Po sovražnikovem napadu, ko je bilo nekaj miru, sem se moral temeljito pogledati. Bil sem ves krvav in umazan od razcefranega človeškega mesa … Moral sem preveriti, če kri ni ni moja, če meso ni moje, če čreva, ki mi visijo na ramah niso moja …” Ivan zre na življenje skozi očetove oči v prepričanju, da lahko največ gorja povzročijo vraževerni sovaščani, ki v rdečelasem sosedu vidijo večjega sovražnika kot v kolonialistično razpoloženih nacistih in fašistih. Po materini smrti in očetovem odhodu iz družine se znajde na bojišču preigravanja medgeneracijskih travm, ki se iz primarne družine prenašajo v drugo in tretjo družino. Če se osrednji lik romana Odštevanje začne spopadati z družinskimi travmami šele v četrtem desetletju svojega življenja, ko tudi prvič spozna svojega biološkega očeta, se protagonist romana Vanja Ivan že zelo zgodaj začne spraševati, kako nanj vpliva preteklost staršev in starejših sester, ki se v boju za preživetje zatekajo k najrazličnejšim rešitvam, od pajdašenja z vojnim zločincem do izumljanja terapevtskih pravljic in neprekinjenega posta. Spomine na primarno družino mu pomaga zatreti šele skrivnostna Ana, ki izhaja iz družine dveh gluhonemih sester in očeta, ki so ga odpeljali na Goli otok, kar je tudi stična točka z romanom Zvezda, žlica in ura. V njem se protagonistka s sinom po več letih znajde v stanovanju, obkrožena s predmeti očeta, ki je večino življenja preživel v italijanskem taborišču, domobranski celici belgijske kasarne, mariborskem zaporu in na Golem otoku. Vendar pa med zadnjima romanoma trilogije obstaja prepoznavna distinkcija – prvi se odvija ob stiku s predmeti, ki sprožijo asociativno verigo spominov na preteklost, se zadnji v celoti odvija skozi pogovore še živečih ljudi, ki z Ivanom posredno razrešujejo dogodke iz svoje preteklosti. Ivan tako z željo po novem začetku posvoji Aninega sina in se preseli v dom njene matere, vendar po nizu nespametnih poslovnih odločitev in nerazčiščenih družinskih odnosov konča na Psihiatrični kliniki, kjer z zdravnico počasi predeluje svoje življenje in zbira pogum za obisk svojih otrok. Möderndorfer se tako kot v prejšnjih romanih tudi v tem pokaže kot rahločuten pripovedovalec, ki niza različne segmente osebne zgodovine glavnega junaka, ki v nekem trenutki doživi psihotični zlom. V prepričanju, da mu že ves čas sledijo organi pregona v stilu nekdanje Udbe, se odpravi na Upravo javne varnosti, kjer ima veličasten monolog: “Mene ne morete strpati na Goli otok, jaz sem se rodil leta tisoč devetsto devetintrideset, bil sem premlad, kaj pa sem jaz vedel, kdo je to Stalin, mene ne, mene ne morete. Ker jaz nisem noben komunist, jaz sem brat shirane sestre in sin vojaka prve svetovne vojne in odlikovanega heroja osvobodilne fronte, to je bil moj ata, zdaj pa me poslušajte: jaz nisem kriv, da je moja sestra poročena z vojnim zločincem, če je to problem, potem ga lahko rešimo takoj, samo pustite moj tovornjak pri miru, to so moje roke, moja prihodnost, vse sem žrtvoval, hčerke sploh ne vidim, včeraj se je rodila, še malo, pa bo končala osnovno šolo, navrtali ste mi možgane, da preskakujem čas, razumete, hočem, da se to neha, nikogar ne bom izdal, jaz ne, jaz že ne, če je to problem, me raje ubijte, dovolj je trpela moja ljuba Ana, pa njen oče, mučenik v komunističnih zaporih, sveti Duh in on, ki se je slačil pred mano, saj vem, tako daleč to sega, vse veste, dvignil je svoj duhovniški talar in pod njim je imel velikega kurca, če je to problem, da se nisem umaknil, je to problem?” Möderndorfer v romanu Vanja prikaže, kako v protagonistovem, nezavednem deluje mehanizem potlačitve pa tudi na kakšen način se v posameznih slojih nalagata osebna in kolektivna zgodovina. V romanu Odštevanje je pokazal, na kakšen način se protagonist, ki se nahaja v obdobju tranzicije, ob očetovih spominih premika k izvoru samega sebe oziroma svoje družine, v romanu Zvezda, žlica in ura se sprašuje o sami naravi resnice in spomina, v romanu Vanja, ki ima podnaslov Kratek roman o predolgem življenju, pa razkriva zakulisje družinske travme, ki se je materializirala v rdečelasem “grešnem kozlu”. Zdi se, da je ta vse življenje izbiral napačne odločitve, da bi se lahko nezavedno poistovetil s predniki, ki so končali v zaporih ali na takšnih in drugačnih moriščih. Čeprav gre v prvi vrsti za roman o tem, do kam lahko človeka privedeta zgodnja smrt matere in želja po poistovetenju z očetom, pa nam roman Vanja nudi tudi pogled v shizofrenijo sodobnega časa in v nevrozo, ki jo puščajo za sabo nepredelane zgodovinske travme, ki jih iz dneva v dan preigravamo tako na političnem bojišču kot v vsakdanjem življenju.

Here's the thing. Most enterprise AI talk today starts with chatbots and ends with glossy demos. Meanwhile, the data that actually runs a business lives in rows, columns, and time stamps. That gap is where my conversation with Vanja Josifovski, CEO of Kuma.ai, really comes alive. Vanja has spent two and a half decades helping companies turn data into decisions, from research roles at Yahoo and Google to steering product and engineering at Pinterest through its IPO and later leading Airbnb Homes. He's now building Kuma.ai to answer an old question with a new approach: how do you get accurate, production-grade predictions from relational data without spending months crafting a bespoke model for each use case? Vanja explains why structured business data has been underserved for years. Images and text behave nicely compared to the messy reality of multiple tables, mixed data types, and event histories. Traditional teams anticipate a prediction need, then kick off a long feature engineering and modeling process. Kuma's Relational Foundation Model, or RFM, flips that script. Pre-trained on a large mix of public and synthetic data warehouses, it delivers task-agnostic, zero-shot predictions for problems like churn and fraud. That means you can ask the model questions directly of your data and get useful answers fast, then fine-tune for another 15 to 20 percent uplift when you're ready to squeeze more from your full dataset. What stood out for me is how Kuma removes the grind of manual feature creation. Vanja draws a clear parallel to computer vision's shift years ago, when teams stopped handcrafting edge detectors and started learning from raw pixels. By learning directly from raw tables, Kuma taps the entirety of the data rather than a bundle of human-crafted summaries. The payoff shows up in the numbers customers care about, with double-digit improvements against mature, well-defended baselines and the kind of time savings that change roadmaps. One customer built sixty models in two weeks, a job that would typically span a year or more. We also explore how this fits with the LLM moment. Vanja doesn't position RFM as a replacement for language models. He frames it as a complement that fills an accuracy gap on tabular data where LLMs often drift. Think of RFM as part of an agentic toolbox: when an agent needs a reliable prediction from enterprise data, it can call Kuma instead of generating code, training a fresh model, or bluffing an answer. That design extends to the realities of production as well. Kuma's fine-tuning and serving stack is built for high-QPS environments, the kind you see in recommendations and ad tech, where cost and latency matter. The training story is another thread you'll hear in this episode. The team began with public datasets, then leaned into synthetic data to cover scenarios that are hard to source in the wild. Synthetic generation gives them better control over distribution shifts and edge cases, which speeds iteration and makes the foundation model more broadly capable upon arrival. If you care about measurable outcomes, this episode shows why CFOs pay attention when RFM lands. Vanja shares examples where a 20 to 30 percent lift translates into hundreds of thousands of additional monthly active users and direct revenue impact. That kind of improvement isn't theory. It's the difference between a model that nudges a metric and a model that moves it. Sagovornici su detaljno i pregledno raspleli kompleksno klupko nadležnosti tužilaštava po pitanju slučaja pada nadstrešnice i mapirali koje bi tužilaštvo, ali i koji javni funkcioneri, trebalo da „povuku nogu“ ka uspostavljanju pravde. U drugoj epizodi Radar Foruma u kojoj je izazivač profesorka Pravnog fakulteta u Beogradu Vanja Bajović ugostila je advokata Ivana Ninića. Razgovor su otvorili temom dostižnosti pravde, koja je prema Niniću relativna – nekome strada radno mesto, nekome zdravlje, nekome sloboda – ali dostižna. Kao primer visoko plaćene cene navodi slučaj Novice Antića, predsednika Vojnog sindikata Srbije, koji je zbog borbe za održiviji i manje korumpirani odbrambeni sistem u pritvoru proveo šest meseci. A sve je počelo 2017, kada je Antić upozorio da Veljko Belivuk, Novak Nedić i druga lica koriste strelište kasarne u Pančevu. Profesorka Bajović je primetila da, sedam meseci nakon pada nadstrešnice, tu temu malo ko i pominje, što sužava put ka dostizanju pravde tamo gde bi ona trebalo da bude jasna. Optužnica je podignuta, pa je vraćena na dopunu, u pritvoru su ostali samo inženjeri, dok su političarima i negdašnjim direktorima pritvori preinačeni u kućni, a majka nastradalog mladića, koja je napustila Srbiju, za zastupnika je odabrala Ninića. Advokata koga je potom tužio podizvođač Starting. „Teško je objasniti taj teatar apsurda. U Trećem osnovnom sudu u Beogradu sam se uverio da postoje dve optužbe čije otpravke nisam još primio, ni ročište nije zakazano. Ja sam u predmetnom postupku istupao kao punomoćnik Dijane Hrke, a ne kao građanin, a protiv mene postoje dve krivične tužbe zbog narušavanja poslovnog ugleda i kreditne sposobnosti. Nestrpljivo čekam da vidim kako sam to ja kao advokat u postupku uopšte mogao da narušim ugled jedne poslovne hidre“, kaže Ninić, i pokazuje da je u Srbiji pravda relativnija no što se isprva mislilo. Da li je moguć slobodan univerzitet u zemlji koja se odriče politike kao javnog dobra i vlasti koja je sve više privatizovala samu ideju države Naredne četiri epizode Radar Foruma, izazivač će biti Vanja Bajović, profesorka Pravnog fakulteta, a njen prvi gost bio je Stevan Filipović, reditelj i docent na FDU-u. U razgovoru koji ne zaobilazi ni kompleksnost studentskog pokreta, niti odgovornost intelektualaca, sagovornici ulaze u srž borbe za univerzitet kao jedine preostale institucije otpora. Sagovornici su kroz razgovor otvorili i pitanje da li su studenti, u trenutku kada su stekli određenu političku moć, zakazali u artikulaciji ciljeva? „Izašla sam s tom tezom da je 15. marta moralo da se izađe sa političkim zahtavima. Da li prolongiranje, pravljenje izborne liste, čekanje da Vučić raspiše izbore i ostalo, u stvari, šteti univerzitetu.“ „Izgubili smo nekoliko važnih trenutaka. Jedan trenutak je bio da se u februaru u Kragujevcu ili u Nišu kaže ta čuvena rečenica – vlast neće ispuniti zahteve. Da je 15. marta neko rekao ‘izbori', imali bismo možda drugačiju istoriju“, odgovara Filipović. Kako društveni protest prerasta u politički subjekt, organizacioni modeli koji su nekada služili kao zaštita sada možda postaju ograničenje. Složena struktura plenuma, koja je na početku bila štit od manipulacije i podela, Filipović smatra da sada teže odgovara na izazove trenutka. „Na početku je bila mala moć i mala odgovornost. Sad je velika moć – pa je i odgovornost veća. Plenumi su pomogli da se kolektivno zaštite, da se protest proširi. Ali danas, kad treba donositi brze odluke, da li je model od 10 stepenika odlučivanja najbolji? Ja sam više za direktnu komunikaciju, ono što zovem normalan razgovor, ovako kako ti i ja sada razmenjujemo stavove“, napominje reditelj. Na pitanje domaćina Radar Foruma, da li bi glasao za studentsku listu na kojoj bi se našao i Emir Kusturica, Filipović izvlači suštinu zajedničke borbe protiv režima – da svi unutar nje moraju da „progutaju razne žabe“ zarad višeg cilja. „Niko od nas neće dobiti ono što hoće i to je poenta. Studenti su tu uradili veliku stvar – pomogli su nam da stavimo razlike u drugi plan. Posle ćemo, kad vratimo državu, da se prepiremo o razlikama.“
