Topics include (but are not limited to) the potential of neutrality, the value of surrender, the unnoticed redefinition of "belief", the needless weight of self-image, the nature of religion as a flawed structure created to avoid the reality of uncertainty and confusion, the limits of a conceptual god, the illusion of self-image, the profound transformative power of enjoying the scenery, and much more. Check out the new section in the newsletter where we go “behind the comic” below! In this episode:Mike and Ed discuss how Egghead was able to use an ant surveillance network against Giant-Man himself. If Egghead can do it, how many other nefarious characters will be able to do what Ant-Man/Giant-Man did? We may or may not be comfortable with an Avenger surveilling the city, but we don't want just anyone doing it. But now that the technology is known to exist, how long until it is available to any ambitious actor? How will we stop the Soviets from monitoring our entire country with insects? We couldn't stop them from getting the A-bomb. Also: Can Spider-Man talk to spiders?Behind the comic:This is the first time Spider-Man meets Giant-Man and the Wasp. Initially, like many first encounters in comics, Giant-Man and Spider-Man fight, but the Wasp convinces the two men to stop. One might think that the Wasp is the more level-headed one in her partnership with Giant-Man. But then at the end of the issue, inexplicably, the Wasp decides that she hates Spider-Man. Why? Apparently, according to the Wasp, because wasps don't like spiders. Spider-Man's thought bubble has Peter claiming the same thing. It seems like Stan Lee was just trying to create a sense of conflict between the characters, but in so doing he suggests that somehow heroes take on the traits of their superhero names. This MIGHT make sense for Spider-Man, but the Wasp's powers have nothing to do with actual “wasps". So any hatred of things wasps hate - because wasps hate them - must be the result of serious psychological issues…In this issue:Hank “Giant-Man” Pym arms Janet “the Wasp” Van Dyne with a compressed air gun - a wasp sting, if you will. Meanwhile, Egghead has been plotting his revenge on Giant-Man. His plan? To communicate with ants, as Giant-Man does, and have them provide misinformation to Giant-Man. The first misinformation that the ants feed Giant-Man leads to a misunderstanding with Spider-Man, and the two of them brawl in the city. The police are distracted by their fight, which allows Egghead and his goons to commit a robbery. Giant-Man eventually figures out what happened, and he and Spider-Man join the Wasp in taking Egghead and his thugs down.Assumed before the next episode:Giant-Man is going to need to tighten up his communication system with ants. This episode takes place:After Egghead is apprehended. Diversity-related training is one of the most contentious issues in higher education today. They have become embedded in the culture wars and spark intense moral disagreements. Kathleen opens the show drinking a Naked Pig Pale Ale from Back Forty Brewing in Gadsden, AL. She shares with listeners her excitement over the St. Louis Cardinals’ Opening Day, describing the Clydesdales parading around the ballpark and the Cardinal HOF players waving to fans. UPDATE ON KATHLEEN’S QUEEN’S COURT: In an update on her Queens, Kathleen advises that the Court has been relatively quiet this week. HOWEVER, Dolly Parton’s new ice cream release literally broke the internet on launch day, halting sales so that exclusive inventory was only available via eBay for $1,000 PER pint.“BAD GOOD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen drove to Nashville and samples the limited released Taco Bell Crispy Chicken SandwichTaco (in both Spicy and Original) and recommends that Termites stick with their favorite taco. She also recommends ordering a side of Jimmy John’s Kickin’ Ranch with any sandwich and sticking with regular Cheez-Its over their new “fancier” Cheez It Snap’d. Kathleen moves on to taste Hidden Valley Ranch Coleslaw dressing and is a massive fan of putting Waffle House’s secret Waffle Sauce on ANYTHING. CHINA’S DIGITAL CRYPTO MINT: In continuing with Kathleen’s obsession with cryptocurrency, she reads an article from the Wall Street Journal announcing that the Chinese government is minting cash digitally, turning legal financial tender into computer code. TOM BRADY LAUNCHES NFT COMPANY: Kathleen has been working the Termites through the idea of NFT’s and is excited to share a release that Tom Brady is launching an NFT (non-fungible token) company called Autograph. The company will sell digital collectibles, as well as host live auctions as well as physical product drops, and exclusive in-person experiences.THE DOWNFALL OF WEWORK: After watching the WeWork documentary on Hulu, she describes the birth of the company and the background of its founders. After discussing the numerous concepts developed by the group, Kathleen compares the WeWork concept to her short time writing on a Comedy Central show with Lewis Black, noting that although she had some fun she ALSO reconfirmed that she shouldn’t have a job with a daily schedule OR where has to work around a “team’s” eating schedule. Kathleen then confidently proclaims herself an “Old-School Gen Z’er.”FLORIDA’S FAKE PLASTIC SURGEON: Kathleen reads a horrific article out of Florida describing the actions of Alcalira De Rodriguez, a practitioner in Dural, FL who was arrested in the middle of performing a nose job without any medical background. Kathleen describes a “fake surgery” that she performed in the Sydney Marriott on her dad’s request to remove a cyst from his neck, which only involved a highball and a hot needle from a hotel sewing kit. VALENTINE’S DAY INCEST MURDER: Yep, that sums it up. Kathleen reads a twisted murder plot out of West Virginia, where a woman has pleaded guilty to murdering her sister's boyfriend in a sick Valentine's Day 'game' involving Meth that was set up by the sister and their father so the pair could get married. This MIGHT need to be read multiple times to comprehend ☺LOST GOLDEN CITY OF LUXOR FOUND: Kathleen finishes the Pubcast by sharing an article involving the discovery of the Golden City, which dates from 1391 to 1353 BC. The city continued to be used by pharaohs Ay and Tutankhamun, whose nearly intact tomb was discovered in the Valley of the Kings.WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching the documentary “WeWork” on Hulu.

Today's episode is about focusing your energy in a slightly different place than revenue generation at the moment. So let's dive in.Instead of focusing on revenue generation, there might be a better use of both your time and your energy at the moment. You see, as business owners, we are so used to spending all our time focusing on revenue generation, on growth, on building our business, and of the bottom line as well at the same time. But the thing is that, at the moment, revenue generation for many, many businesses in many, many sectors can be nearly impossible. Perhaps you have seen your revenue in your business significantly drop or even reduce to zero as a result of coronavirus. If you have been forced to close, then have a think about these other things that you might want to be considering doing instead of focusing on revenue generation at this point in time. Now, I am not saying that you shouldn't be considering generating revenue, because if there is a way in your business to be generating revenue at the moment, if you can change what you're selling a little bit, if you can pivot a little bit, as long as that is in alignment with a longer term strategy in your business, then by all means, do generate revenue just now. It is incredibly important to generate revenue where we can. However, we also at this point in time might be wanting to think slightly differently and slightly more strategically than just going all out and solely focusing on revenue generation. Because at the moment, it can be an incredibly good time to be focusing on brand building, to be focusing on marketing, and to be focusing on going all in on your content.People are needing support, they're needing help, and if you are in a position to be able to provide that through your content, then it is a great idea to start doing that as much as you possibly can. It will help build up your relationship with those people, not just for just now, but also into the future as well, so that when we come out the other side of this, you have a stronger relationship with your audience, which in turn, as we know, will at some point lead to benefits to your bottom line as well.So focusing on that just now can be incredibly important. Also, just focusing on relationships in general, relationships with your clients, relationships with your audience, like we've just said, relationships with suppliers,

This MIGHT be the greatest Hour of Slack episode of all time -- and it was a lost episode until this week! It's our sixty-ninth episode, from late 1986, and it was a kind of a "best of" collection of some of the best stuff that many SubGeniuses recorded up until then. Includes songs, rants, and collages by Slackmaster Cleve, Byron Werner, Rev. Bleepo Abernathy, Puzzling Evidence, Dr. Hal, Rev. Ivan Stang, Doug #3, Gary G'Broagfran, Sister Krys (her sermon on "The 'Feminist' Conspiracy!"), The Firesign Theater, Ken Nordine, Oingo Boingo, G. Gordon Gordon, and the great Doktorz 4 "Bob"! Thanks to Rev. Rasfeld for recording this off the air when it first aired in Dallas, and somehow keeping the recording for 34 years!
GUYS! This is seriously the best episode of the year! This MIGHT be our best episode EVER! First in memorandum of those we just lost that no one was aware of, Hieu breaks down for JLo the menu items that have been removed secretly from Taco Bell's menu. THEN!!!! Hieu and J-Lo go deep into the "Blue Campaign" a federal anti-human trafficking website the government made. It's awful. And we tear it apart. Enjoy! This is one of those episodes worth sharing with others!
The boys dive further into the Dawn of X with Excalibur #2 and Marauders #2; there's a quick News Flash; then they dive into Star Bores in Khelan's Corner; they play a quick game of Alright, This Might be Stupid; they review The Mandalorian (S1E1-2), Watchmen (S1E5), and Titans (S2E11); and the issues: Strikeforce #2 and The History of the Marvel Universe #5. It's a packed episode, Adam abandons us to go watch TV, and Disney once again dominates our lives.
This… MIGHT be the dumbest or most haphazard implementation of a plot we've ever seen on the show? And DEFINITIELY the stupidest hat!
Today’s podcast is a special one and I’m so happy to share it with you! I’m chatting with writer and fitness instructor Theodora Blanchfield, creator of The Preppy Runner, and the Podcast, This May Be Oversharing, whose talents and interests are many. In this episode, she discusses how, through various professional and personal experiences, she leaned into her inner strength and determination to follow her individual journey, creating a life where she can nurture both her physical and mental wellbeing. Here are some of my key takeaways from my chat with Theodora: Nurturing one’s emotional health is key. Journaling can be a transformative process as it helps clear your mind, allowing you to focus on what matters most. The mantra “You have everything you need inside of you” is one which can help us through challenging times. Our mental state is closely intertwined with our physical state, so listen closely to your body to learn how you’re truly feeling. Theodora Blanchfield is a writer, run coach, certified yoga instructor and certified personal trainer. She is the creator of the fitness and running blog Preppy Runner, which she started in 2009 and the host of the This May Be Oversharing podcast, because she believes that the things we don’t talk about are the things we need to talk about. After losing 50 pounds 10 years ago, she became addicted to fitness and running — and has now run 30+ half marathons and 7 marathons and loves coaching runners to learn about the life-changing powers of running. (She sort of likes running.) A mental health advocate, she also writes about her own struggles with depression, anxiety and grief after losing her mom. She’s been published in outlets including Glamour, Cosmo, Women’s Health, Healthline and more, and she’s currently working on a book proposal for a book she’s calling So Many Parents, Even More Therapists: Finding My Birthparents, Losing My Mom, Finding Myself. You can connect with Theodora Blanchfield via her website, Instagram, Twitter, and This Might be Oversharing podcast.
Hello everyone!! Episode 70 is a SPECTACLE!! Albert, the Godfather to us all, makes a GRAND entrance to his FIRST, in person TOTLB appearance! Escaping the hurricanes, Albert stayed with Juan for a week, and we got the pleasure of having him in the house while we recorded an episode!! No interviews for this episode, but who needs an interview when the President of Barren Space Productions is a part of the episode! We did however watch Over the Top, as our #popcultureclassic! Doyle, #popcultureclassic Patreon supporter, chose this movie, AND was also in attendance for the recording, to ensure that he got to voice his opinion about how amazing it is! This MIGHT be the quintessential Sylvester Stallone movie! With the weird pacing, and the nonexistent police force, this "arm wrestling" movie will go down in history...........where is not yet decided!! With Albie away from the hurricanes, Doyle choosing what might be the best Stallone movie in history, and Gabe under the influence, you never know what might happen.................listen, and find out! Remember, you can ALWAYS let us know what you think! We can only think of so many things to talk about every other week, and would LOVE to get some feedback and ideas from all of you out there who are listening!! You can send mp3s and email to our email address. Also, join the conversations on our Facebook Page and Twitter Page. Also, if you have good feedback, please leave it for us on iTunes and Stitcher!! That's one way to help us climb the ranks into podcast glory!! You can ALSO leave us voicemail!!! Call the Michael Kuyrk memorial 970-573-6148 and leave us a hilarious message!!! This MIGHT (will) be a two-parter, so kick back, grab your bottle of Xanax, and get comfortable - cause you're like, really pretty. Do you agree? You think you're really pretty? #FETCH

Wherein I sat down with my dear friend and (former) fellow member of The Nerdologues, Alex Talavera. I've never seen No Reservations, but I want to start after hearing Alex talk about it for a little under an hour (even though it seems like most of what Alex gets from the show is rage jealousy). I'd take hanging out with Alex and/or watching him eat and drink things in cool places over Anthony Bourdain personally. Notes: Anthony Bourdain's current wife's name is Ottavia, and she and Julie Klausner have TOTALLY gotten into it on Twitter. I AM JUSTIFIED. It would appear this is probably the first show Alex saw Anthony host: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Cook%27s_Tour_(TV_series) This MIGHT be the Izakaya Alex went to in Arlington Heights: http://www.yelp.com/biz/kayaba-arlington-heights#query:Izakaya
This MIGHT be broadcast and yet again it might not be. If not, then we'll surely broadcast part 1 on Friday instead. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the site for schedule changes that can happen due to the party schedule.
