On episode one hundred and eight or Holy Ghost Notes, Matt is only days away from having a new baby girl as Tim wraps up “back to school week” and shares some exciting news. The guys talk about using earplugs for sleeping and talk a little about the IEM company, Ultimate Ears, and their experience with both the products and the company. After a longer than average intro, they head into their drum topic; touching on the importance of spending time watching (or observing) how other drummers play and how it can benefit your own drumming in many ways. Matt talks about staying home from August Burns Red's Australian tour which inspires the topic of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Through many a divergence from the root topic, in typical fashion, they uncover many parallels that round out the discussion.

Myrony is slightly different because it's synchronicity in motion since it's up to us to pay attention to the coincidences or signs but also “listen” to the intuitive pull we all get which Alysha believe is our greatest superpower! Her life was fairly normal until she got into a car accident that triggered fibromyalgia at the age of 18 and had to deal with that very painful chronic condition along with many other life challenges including loss of both parents, marriage, divorce, suicide thoughts/attempt, alcohol/prescription drug abuse/addiction and a full hysterectomy by the time she was 35. Alysha's strong spiritual connection and tenacity is what helped her through some very dark days. However, it's actually thanks to those days that allowed her to connect to her superpower that she calls her “Spiritual Spidey Sense”. She now shares her new concept hosting “That's Myrony” Podcast along with her spiritual coaching business “My Myrony” Mentoring where she uses her psychic gift of “knowing” also known as claircognizance to help her clients through Intuitive “Soul Sessions” with her unique one of a kind modality, “The Myrony Method” A Key to Unlock Our Soul's Blocks Program which helps release at a soul level what they need to move forward and create the life they truly desire all with a little myrony! So if you are feeling overwhelmed or stuck & would like to...

As musicians we need to learn how to play with clicks and cliques! Metronomes are super-helpful, especially in the studio, and even to help get your live playing together. Working with different sound teams can always be a struggle, even when they're the best in the business. How do you communicate with them? How do you know they're listening? How do you convey your point without being annoying? These are just some of the questions that come up as Paul and Dave talk through their more recent gigs. Let's go back five years together, shall we? Gig Gab was just a year old, and we all were just finding our footing here together. We had the pleasure of having Jan Hammer join us for a conversation in Gig Gab 68, and with both Paul and Dave out for a two week stretch, we figured this was a perfect time to revisit that interview, certainly our most downloaded episode ever. From his start in Prague, the stories flow, including tales about Jan's experiences with Jeff Beck, Keith Emerson, Jaco Pastorius, Neal Schon, Mahavishnu Orchestra and even Jimi Hendrix. As we wrote in the show notes five years ago: there's so much packed into these 43 minutes you'll probably want to listen twice. For some of you, we've made that second listening even easier today! Enjoy! This episode has no official sponsors, but we wanted to remind you of our two active deals. The Ultimate Ears one expires this week! SPONSOR: Ultimate Ears Pro. If you're a consumer electronics brand, what do you do when your hit product—a best-seller and a critical darling since its debut—turns five years old? You buy it a new suit, of course. Ultimate Ears has updated both of its cylindrical Bluetooth speakers. The Boom 3 and Megaboom 3 have a refreshed look, slightly updated capabilities, and a new lower price. The Boom 3 is $150, which is a $30 price drop from the $180 Boom 3.
Smart speakers are fun to have around. You can tell them what songs to play, ask 'em for the weather, or have them control any smart appliances you have around the house. Unfortunately, they're often pricey. This week, we spotted a few speakers bucking the trend. Best Buy, Jet, and Amazon are holding a few sales on some of the better Bluetooth speakers and smart speakers on the market at some deep discounts.
