Last year, interest in gun violence prevention measures increased after a then-six-year-old student brought a firearm from home to his Newport News elementary school and shot his teacher. The teacher, Abigail Zwerner, was seriously injured but survived. The legislation, which received support from the House in a 54-45 vote last week, is on track to reach Gov. AOC and Ed Markey roll out the Green New Deal! It’s the first big, bold initiatives the Democrats have had since I’ve been around. It’s got many Democrats, environmental activists, and people who want to avoid a dystopian future super pumped. Nancy Pelosi message tests dismissive “Green Dream” talking point...AOC does some jujitsu with that message. Trump does Dr. Seuss during the state of the union. “If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation.” Nancy Pelosi lights up the internet, becoming the “Queen of Condescending Applause” Ryan Grim reports that less than a month after the 2018 midterms, a top health care aide to Nancy Pelosi told executives from Blue Cross Blue Shield not to worry about calls for Medicare for All. He assured them that Democratic leadership will side with the insurance companies and campaign against Medicare for All . Supreme Court halts Louisiana anti-abortion bill. Cory Booker is the latest to announce that he’s running for president. Elizabeth Warren set to officially launch her campaign tomorrow in Lawrence Massachusetts. Speaking about raising the wage, House Republicans invited two libertarian economists to speak in front of the Labor and Industry committee and they advocated for eliminating the minimum wage and claimed that minimum wage laws are “racist.” Scumbag Daylin Leach sues three #metoo activists for bringing his allegations to light. Herd mentality occurs when individuals group together and follow each other for inexplicable reasons. This is sometimes referred to as the “mob mentality” and is observed during riots. When one-person yells loudly and charges forward, the herd (or mob) follows. This episode discusses how herd mentality might impact situational awareness and decision making at emergency scenes. GaptoothDiva discusses music, ambition, and creativity with INFAMOUS, Richmond based writer, producer, & rapper. The Diva dives into what inspired this artist to go so hard musically and creatively in an environment that could care less if you succeeded. With the help of his manager, Dante' Bournes, we will find out how this musical prodigy is destined to truly be what his name already suggests. Brandon Michael Smith was born on December 27th, 1989 in Wynne, Arkansas. At the age of 4 he began playing drums. By the age of 7 he had surpassed the level of some 16 year olds. A turning point in his life was at the age of 9 when he moved to Chester, VA. Throughout his life he always focused on expanding himself musically. So at the age of 13 he taught himself how to play the piano. In his freshman year of high school a friend introduced him to FL Studios. Like with everything, he began teaching himself to make beats. With each passing year his grind got harder and his skills got better. After the sudden death of his grandmother he began writing raps, and every since then it's been one song after another. He has performed at numerous places such as Tropical Soul, VA House of Comedy, and Lyric 101 at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Infamous musical influences are Michael Jackson and Tupac. He would mostly relate himself to Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco. As a triple threat (writer, producer, and rapper) Brandon “Infamous” Smith is bound to go far. He joined and independent label JustWatch Entertaimnent out of Richmond, VA in the summer of 2009, with the guidance of CEO Dant'e Bournes they will reach the top…..JUST WATCH!!
