D66’er Nathalie van Berkel stopt als Tweede Kamerlid, meldt ze zelf op X. Ze trok zich gisteren al terug als beoogd staatssecretaris van Financiën vanwege onjuistheden op haar cv; nu verlaat ze ook het parlement. Politiek verslaggever Floor Doppen, noemt het besluit ‘onvermijdelijk’, gezien de aanhoudende druk en felle oppositie, waarmee D66 snel op zoek moet naar opvolging. De Kansspelautoriteit verplicht gokplatform Polymarket direct te stoppen en offline te gaan, omdat het zonder vergunning kansspelen aanbiedt. Doet Polymarket dat niet, dan volgt een boete van ruim 4 ton per week tot een maximum van 840.000 euro. Volgens FD-redacteur Eva Schram ziet Polymarket zichzelf als ‘voorspellingsmarkt’, maar Nederland beschouwt het platform juridisch als gokbedrijf. Boetes voor appen in het verkeer hebben overheid vorig jaar 24 miljoen euro meer opgeleverd, ondanks een afname van het aantal verkeersboetes met 345.000. De gemiddelde verkeersboete steeg naar 112 euro en vooral boetes voor afleiding in het verkeer – 440 euro per stuk, 200.000 uitgedeeld – dragen flink bij. Volgens Noud Broekhof zorgt een hogere boete-inkomstenstroom voor discussie over proportionaliteit en het draagvlak onder automobilisten. Nathalie van Berkel, de beoogd staatssecretaris van Financiën, heeft volgens De Volkskrant wisselende verklaringen afgelegd en diverse malen onjuiste informatie verstrekt over de opleidingen op haar cv. De verkeerde voorstelling van zaken heeft vooral te maken met een universitaire master die op haar cv staat, maar nooit heeft gedaan. "Het is behoorlijk opgepoetst", zegt Marc Veeningen, hoofdredacteur van Talpa Network, over het cv van Van Berkel. De Volkskrant heeft tot drie keer toe verhaal gehaald bij Van Berkel, en elke keer wisselde zij van verhaal. "Het voelt rommelig en als het wegduwen van de waarheid. Ik vraag me af of ze het bordes haalt", reageert Veeningen. "Het is zeker een valse start", vindt Sofyan El Bouchtili, onderzoeksjournalist bij Investico. Vandaag en morgen ontvangt formateur en - als alles goed gaat - aankomend premier Rob Jetten allerlei beoogd bewindslieden. Als alles goed gaat: want vandaag meldde de Volkskrant dat beoogd staatssecretaris Nathalie van Berkel haar CV wel heel creatief heeft opgepoetst. Ze gaf aan dat ze een master bestuurskunde had gevolgd, maar dat bleek niet waar. Van Berkel heeft alleen een havo-diploma en een diploma voor het eerste jaar bestuurskunde op het hbo, dus niet op de universiteit.  In een reactie aan de Volkskrant stelt Van Berkel dat ze haar cv op Linkedin eerder "naar eer en geweten, op basis van haar geheugen, heeft ingevuld". Maar ze geeft toe dat ze de informatie over haar studie "wel explicieter op haar cv had kunnen opnemen". Hoe erg is dit? Hoort dit soort creatief oppoetsen van je CV er bij of is het een doodzonde? Hans van der Steeg bespreekt het met: Annemiek van Kessel, zij was dertig jaar actief op het gebied van personeelszaken. Maar stiekem gaat het al de hele dag over iemand die morgen pas op bezoek komt, namelijk de beoogd staatssecretaris van Financiën, Nathalie van Berkel. Zij had volgens De Volkskrant jarenlang foutieve informatie gedeeld over haar opleiding. Duitsland gaat de grenscontroles met zes maanden verlengen. Dat heeft de minister van Binnenlandse Zaken [Alexander Dobrindt] gezegd. Dat betekent dat ook bij de Nederlandse grenzen tot en met september controles kunnen plaatsvinden. Nu de Amerikaanse veiligheidsparaplu minder vanzelfsprekend voelt, laait in Europa de discussie op over nucleaire afschrikking. Van Warschau tot Berlijn, en natuurlijk Parijs.
