As everyone knows Oxford has a huge reputation via its PPE graduates of producing UK Prime Ministers, Chancellors of the Exchequer, Government Cabinet Ministers and Politicians. He had however fixed his career ambitions firmly to working in the Investment industry. Commencing his career journey in 1979 as a graduate trainee at James Capel stockbrokers followed by Equity sales and corporate roles at Wood McKenzie, Hoare Govett, Laing & Cruickshank and Schroder Salomon (CitiBank) to 2001. Laying the foundations in the City as a shrewd client first focused professional. This led to in 2001 Keith being head-hunted for the role of CEO of Metzler Bank, Germany's oldest bank with an unbroken tradition of family ownership. Followed by in 2002 to 2009 when he firstly took the role as Head of Equity Sales at Panmure Gordon and then the same role at Evolution Securities. After which in 2009 he became a founding partner for the independent research firm Agency Partners. In late 2012 Keith was part of a group of investors that acquired Hardman & Co which he and his colleagues have since nurtured into the longest established commissioned research provider in the UK. Please listen now to learn how Keith Hiscock CEO of Hardman & Co, successful navigated nearly four decades of the volatile investment markets. Keith shares lessons learnt from his roles within Stockbroking, Equity Sales, Corporate roles, leader and CEO to enable others to identify quality companies, he explains why it is important to work out what type of business a company is involved in, its dividend cover, free cashflow, stage of growth & more. He stresses why it is important to fully read releases/statements via the Regulatory New Service (RNS) of the companies you own, plus why the careful use of language and tone within a RNS are vital to identify. Keith shares an overview of Hardman & Co, where as CEO he leads a multi-disciplinary financial consultancy and investment research firm, which employs highly experienced analysts and professionals with a broad range of capital markets expertise. He explains how his highly skilled team, complete commissioned differentiated research on quoted and private companies, assess and gauge the appropriate price for an IPO, consultancy, confidential work, Woodford valuations, the ESG mini-industry, EIS solutions and its hugely respected and globally recognised research role. I don't know any successful investors who are not curious, and I can't think of a better person to learn from about curiosity than my today's guest, an instant friend, Tom Morgan. Tom describes himself as a curiosity sherpa to billionaires. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, 2 children and a rabbit called Frank. Tom Morgan is a Director at Sapient Capital. He is responsible for the firm's content. He has previously worked in Equity Sales on Wall Street at Merrill Lynch, Bank of America and most recently as a Managing Director at Stifel. Tom loves nothing more than meeting interesting people; drop him an email or phone call – if you are intrigued by what you hear today. Tom holds a BA from Oxford University. Tom's bio doesn't give justice to what a fascinating, multi-faceted, complex individual he is, and I hope this episode will reveal a bit more of the Tom I got to meet and spend time with. I was introduced to Tom by Brendon Snow. It was one of a thousand serendipitous moments that have been happening since I launched the podcast. I was walking around Paris earlier this summer listening to Guy Spier's interview with Julie LaRoche, I shared it on Twitter. Brendan reached out and mentioned that he not only also listened to Guy Spier on his visit to Paris not long ago but also went to the same Parisian Grande Ecole I went to. Brendan Snow is the CEO of Fluent Risk Partners. Tom and I had a few long chats before the recording; we also shared a long lunch one summer day at a lovely vegan restaurant. Today, we talked about Tom's life and the journey he's been on, and it's a very inspiring story that Tom shares in a very vulnerable way. We discuss the importance of curiosity and the idea of our future selves leading us on our path. We talk about the focus in the age of perpetual distraction. Tom shares his thoughts on complexity. We also touch on the meaning crisis in today's world. I like Tom's idea of continuously being exposed to new ideas that challenge our worldview. Stay tuned until the end – Tom shares his childhood story; without giving too much away, I will tell you that we are the same age and were both at the same time and the same place, but experienced it from a very different perspective, only to compares our notes, and memories almost four decades later! Welcome to this brand-new investing podcast from the London South East. My name is Peter Higgins, you can find me on Twitter @conkers3 and I will be your host for this series of Investing Matters podcasts. What can you expect from the Investing Matters podcasts? A great question. You will find long form interviews with noteworthy veterans and experts from the investment and fund management industry. During these interviews each interviewee will share and impart their knowledge, learning and insights on what aspects of Investing truly matters to them and what in their view should matter to investors. We hope this knowledge exchange benefits all and enables all those accessing and listening to these podcasts to achieve even greater investing success. With that in mind, welcome to episode twenty-six, which is with the hugely talented Philip O'Sullivan whose roles including being a former Chief Economist at Investec (Ireland) and presently as an Investor Relations professional with the Bank of Ireland. Born in Cork, by the time Philip was 18 years of age and old enough to invest in his own name, it was the tail end of the 1990s. The Dot.Com bubble had not yet burst, and the mania had everyone talking about the markets. Ireland was going through a huge period of economic growth called the Celtic Tiger, this would later morph into a credit fuelled bubble that hit Ireland harder than most other countries when the Global Financial Crisis struck. In 2000, Philip studied Finance at the University College of Cork and still to this day has meticulous records of his early investments. Some of which describes as making “rookie mistakes” with. Fortuitously, it was during his Finance degree that he did a placement for nine months in Goodbody Stockbrokers in Dublin. Then, as now, it was part of Allied Irish Bank. He worked on the Research team, and I must have excelled as they asked him to come back on a permanent basis when he graduated. At Goodbody Stockbrokers, he worked on the sell-side, alongside some really gifted Equity Analysts and Economists, to pitch his own research ideas to the Sales team and the traders. He also got opportunities to go on Investor roadshows and attend sales desk briefings with some of the top CEOs, including those Ryanair, CRH or Paddy Power (Flutter). During his seven years at Goodbody Stockbrokers from 2004 to 2011, Philip gained a vast wealth of great experience - working across Economics, Equity Research and Equity Sales. Plus, a fantastic analytics grounding in both the macro and the micro. In 2011 Philip went back to academia full-time and successfully completed a one-year MBA. Very shrewd though he did some financial journalism and blogging alongside his studies. As an accomplish write, he wrote the markets column for an Irish magazine called Business and Finance, some columns for the business section of the Irish edition of The Sunday Times. It was quality of his articles in the Sunday Times columns that landed him the job of Chief Economist at Investec Bank in Ireland from 2012 onwards. His Chief Economist role was a very broad one that encompassed; work on the Bond desk; supporting the Wealth and Investment business; presenting to Treasury clients on interest rates and exchange rates; working alongside Corporate Finance on client pitches; Equity Research; supporting the Sales Desk in its client engagement and much more. In 2019 Philip was headhunted to work in Investor Relations for The Bank of Ireland which is the biggest Bank in Ireland. Whilst the role of Investor Relations is very different to being a sell-side analyst or an Economist. It is the combination of all the skills and experiences that Philip has learned over nearly a quarter of a century, that makes him a vital individual in the continued growth of The Bank of Ireland Group with respect to its regional, national and global clients.

Finally, she was honored with the CLIO Image Award for experiential engagement and she was a finalist for the New York Design Award for marketing and branded experiences.Speaking on topics such as the future of retail strategy and living in a phygital world, she presents the latest trends impacting the future and thought-provoking ideas on how to integrate the digital landscape with physical improvements. She is looking at today’s consumers and how they affect the market. About David Kepron:linkedin.com/in/david-kepron-9a1582bWebsites:retail-r-evolution.com  (Company Website)vmsd.com/taxonomy/term/8645  (Blog)Email:david.kepron@retail-r-evolution.comTwitter:DavidKepron
