POPULARITY
Few stories have captured the imagination quite like David and Goliath. Christians and non-Christians alike want to be like David. Whether it's a sports team that's a heavy underdog or a start-up business looking to make it big, we want to be the hero by overcoming seemingly overwhelming obstacles. But is this actually the point of the story? In this unique message, David Platt urges us to reconsider the story of David and Goliath, and to do this, he enlists the help of kids as the events of 1 Samuel 17 are acted out. As David explains, this story is meant to point us beyond our own strength to the One who has slain our greatest enemies—sin and death—through his death and resurrection.
As David considers his life and his leadership, he refuses to harm the one whom God has put as an authority over him.View the 2021 McLean Bible Church Reading Plan.

In this easy-to-devour paperback David shares stories, lessons and perspectives about life through the lens of caring for kids facing their own mortality. As David's website explains “The meditations within are directed at parents and all people who are looking to ask and answer some of life's big questions. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will learn about yourself.”Stick around till the end to hear David read the first chapter of the book - even though you might need a Kleenex, a hug from your kids, and your credit card to snatch up this book immediately. Today I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Author David Anderson. David's book titled DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL is the story of coping with clinical depression. As David put it "I had been living with a depressed brain my whole life and didn't know it." David hopes that him sharing his story will help others. You can learn more about David and purchase his book at https://davidandersontheauthor.com/books/. I'm happy that David has decided to share his story with and be the newest member to the ever growing book club. With authors as good as this, why aren't you listening? David Anderson is a freelance writer and a Bible Geek. His two favorite subjects for writing are Biblical Commentary and Biblical Fiction. He even got a Masters of Theological Studies and a Masters of Theology degree just so he would have the opportunity to read and translate from the Hebrew and Greek texts. Doing this took his imagination places it never would have gone otherwise, which for writing is very important. He is a member of the Foothills Writers Guild. He is the winner of the Juanita Garrison Prize for Unpublished Fiction. He would like to see Biblical Fiction recognized as a separate category from Christian Fiction. Christian Fiction should be seen as a subgenre of Biblical Fiction. Examples of Biblical Fiction that are not Christian Fiction would include Anita Diamant's The Red Tent and Ron Hansen's Atticus. Anderson might read and write Christian Fiction, but focuses more on Biblical Fiction. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bright-headed-publishing/message
1 Chronicles 18–21 1 Chronicles 18–21 (Listen) David Defeats His Enemies 18 After this David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its villages out of the hand of the Philistines. 2 And he defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute. 3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah-Hamath, as he went to set up his monument1 at the river Euphrates. 4 And David took from him 1,000 chariots, 7,000 horsemen, and 20,000 foot soldiers. And David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but left enough for 100 chariots. 5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down 22,000 men of the Syrians. 6 Then David put garrisons2 in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the LORD gave victory to David3 wherever he went. 7 And David took the shields of gold that were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a large amount of bronze. With it Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars and the vessels of bronze. 9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole army of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, 10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David, to ask about his health and to bless him because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him; for Hadadezer had often been at war with Tou. And he sent all sorts of articles of gold, of silver, and of bronze. 11 These also King David dedicated to the LORD, together with the silver and gold that he had carried off from all the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek. 12 And Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, killed 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. 13 Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's servants. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went. David's Administration 14 So David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and equity to all his people. 15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; 16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Shavsha was secretary; 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were the chief officials in the service of the king. The Ammonites Disgrace David's Men 19 Now after this Nahash the king of the Ammonites died, and his son reigned in his place. 2 And David said, “I will deal kindly with Hanun the son of Nahash, for his father dealt kindly with me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David's servants came to the land of the Ammonites to Hanun to console him. 3 But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Have not his servants come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?” 4 So Hanun took David's servants and shaved them and cut off their garments in the middle, at their hips, and sent them away; 5 and they departed. When David was told concerning the men, he sent messengers to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, “Remain at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.” 6 When the Ammonites saw that they had become a stench to David, Hanun and the Ammonites sent 1,000 talents4 of silver to hire chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, from Aram-maacah, and from Zobah. 7 They hired 32,000 chariots and the king of Maacah with his army, who came and encamped before Medeba. And the Ammonites were mustered from their cities and came to battle. 8 When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army of the mighty men. 9 And the Ammonites came out and drew up in battle array at the entrance of the city, and the kings who had come were by themselves in the open country. Ammonites and Syrians Defeated 10 When Joab saw that the battle was set against him both in front and in the rear, he chose some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Syrians. 11 The rest of his men he put in the charge of Abishai his brother, and they were arrayed against the Ammonites. 12 And he said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me, but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will help you. 13 Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the LORD do what seems good to him.” 14 So Joab and the people who were with him drew near before the Syrians for battle, and they fled before him. 15 And when the Ammonites saw that the Syrians fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, Joab's brother, and entered the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem. 16 But when the Syrians saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the Euphrates,5 with Shophach the commander of the army of Hadadezer at their head. 17 And when it was told to David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan and came to them and drew up his forces against them. And when David set the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him. 18 And the Syrians fled before Israel, and David killed of the Syrians the men of 7,000 chariots and 40,000 foot soldiers, and put to death also Shophach the commander of their army. 19 And when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Syrians were not willing to save the Ammonites anymore. The Capture of Rabbah 20 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, Joab led out the army and ravaged the country of the Ammonites and came and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. And Joab struck down Rabbah and overthrew it. 2 And David took the crown of their king from his head. He found that it weighed a talent6 of gold, and in it was a precious stone. And it was placed on David's head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. 3 And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor7 with saws and iron picks and axes.8 And thus David did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. Philistine Giants Killed 4 And after this there arose war with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Sippai, who was one of the descendants of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued. 5 And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair struck down Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 6 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. 7 And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, struck him down. 8 These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants. David's Census Brings Pestilence 21 Then Satan stood against Israel and incited David to number Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army, “Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.” 3 But Joab said, “May the LORD add to his people a hundred times as many as they are! Are they not, my lord the king, all of them my lord's servants? Why then should my lord require this? Why should it be a cause of guilt for Israel?” 4 But the king's word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came back to Jerusalem. 5 And Joab gave the sum of the numbering of the people to David. In all Israel there were 1,100,000 men who drew the sword, and in Judah 470,000 who drew the sword. 6 But he did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering, for the king's command was abhorrent to Joab. 7 But God was displeased with this thing, and he struck Israel. 8 And David said to God, “I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.” 9 And the LORD spoke to Gad, David's seer, saying, 10 “Go and say to David, ‘Thus says the LORD, Three things I offer you; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.'” 11 So Gad came to David and said to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Choose what you will: 12 either three years of famine, or three months of devastation by your foes while the sword of your enemies overtakes you, or else three days of the sword of the LORD, pestilence on the land, with the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.' Now decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.” 13 Then David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for his mercy is very great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man.” 14 So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel, and 70,000 men of Israel fell. 15 And God sent the angel to Jerusalem to destroy it, but as he was about to destroy it, the LORD saw, and he relented from the calamity. And he said to the angel who was working destruction, “It is enough; now stay your hand.” And the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 16 And David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and heaven, and in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces. 17 And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave command to number the people? It is I who have sinned and done great evil. But these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O LORD my God, be against me and against my father's house. But do not let the plague be on your people.” David Builds an Altar 18 Now the angel of the LORD had commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and raise an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19 So David went up at Gad's word, which he had spoken in the name of the LORD. 20 Now Ornan was threshing wheat. He turned and saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him hid themselves. 21 As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David and went out from the threshing floor and paid homage to David with his face to the ground. 22 And David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of the threshing floor that I may build on it an altar to the LORD—give it to me at its full price—that the plague may be averted from the people.” 23 Then Ornan said to David, “Take it, and let my lord the king do what seems good to him. See, I give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for the wood and the wheat for a grain offering; I give it all.” 24 But King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will buy them for the full price. I will not take for the LORD what is yours, nor offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” 25 So David paid Ornan 600 shekels9 of gold by weight for the site. 26 And David built there an altar to the LORD and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings and called on the LORD, and the LORD10 answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering. 27 Then the LORD commanded the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath. 28 At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. 29 For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses had made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were at that time in the high place at Gibeon, 30 but David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. ~ Psalm 62:8 (NLT) I don't know about you, but life can be pretty stressful some times. Depending on the day, things come flying at me pretty fast. There is work, kids, wife, church, studying, learning, exercising, and a million other things that need my attention each day. Please note, I'm not complaining. Rather, I'm thinking that many of you can relate to the idea that living in this world can be very stressful. The biblical boy-king David can certainly relate to a stress-filled life. He was anointed to be the future king of Israel when he was just a kid. He defeated a giant, which caused jealousy to spew forth from the king that David would be replacing – King Saul. He had a huge issue with lust, which caused him to commit adultery and murder one of his best friends. He lost his baby boy as a result of his sin. He was hunted, persecuted, and tormented. And, that was all at the hand of his own people, let alone the many nations that warred with Israel during this time period. Needless-to-say, David had problems. However, the one place he never had to stress about was with His God. Sure, God called Him to do some really hard stuff, and held David accountable when he royally screwed up. (Get it? Royally! Never mind.) But, David always knew He could come to God with anything. He knew that God loved Him and wanted him in His life. As David stated, “God is our refuge.” Back in the day, there were cities designated as Cities of Refuge. These cities were designated as such so that those who had been accused of a crime could find refuge from the lynch mob that was chasing after them trying to kill them without a proper trial. The cities didn't necessarily serve to get the dude off the hook. Rather, they existed to make sure a fair trial happened rather than mob justice. So, David is saying that God is our City of Refuge, if you will. When life is pressing down upon us, we can run to God and not receive condemnation and judgment, but peace, a rest from the stresses of life. No matter what is happening in our lives, we can always run into the arms of our God to find peace, to find refuge.
Reflectors of God's LightProbably the most natural thing for us to do after working throughan embarrassing failure and experiencing forgiveness is to try to forgetthat the event ever happened. Memories of failure can be painful. What does David want to do with his painful experience? Read Psalm51:13–19.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________When a bowl or a precious vase falls and breaks into pieces, we normallysigh and throw the useless broken pieces away. In Japan there is a traditionalart called kintsugi, which specializes in re-creating broken pottery. A pre-cious metal, such as liquid gold or silver, is used to glue the broken piecestogether and to turn the broken item into something of beauty and value.Every time God forgives our transgressions and re-creates us again, something changes. God's precious forgiveness glues our brokennesstogether, and the visible breaks can draw attention to His grace. Wecan become God's loudspeakers. “My tongue shall sing aloud of Yourrighteousness” (Ps. 51:14, NKJV). We don't attempt to self-repair orauto-improve (even incrementally). Our broken spirits, our contritehearts, are enough praise for God—and they are beams of light that theworld can see surrounding us. Our experience of being forgiven attractsothers who are searching for forgiveness. What relationship is there between Psalm 51 and 1 John 1:9?__________________________________________________________________________________________________________First John 1:9 is a short summary of Psalm 51. As David knows that“a broken and a contrite heart—these, O God, You will not despise”(Ps. 51:17, NKJV), John assures us that “if we confess our sins, He isfaithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrigh-teousness” (1 John 1:9, NKJV). We can take God at His word.Again, David could not repair the tremendous damage that he haddone through his acts and example to his family. He suffered the conse-quences of his decisions and actions. And yet, David knew that he hadbeen forgiven. He knew that he needed to trust by faith that one day thetrue Lamb of God would come and stand in his place. How can you learn right now to apply the promises of 1 John 1:9to your own life? How should you feel after you do so and knowthat the promise is for you too?
As we continue to learn why every praise belongs to our God, Pastor Ford will explain how in the Psalms, King David was trying to get us to see why he was so blessed and that it was because he never put a limit on God. As David grew, God just very naturally poured out His blessings on him. So, Pastor Ford will ask us—what's our capacity for comprehension of Who God is? Because we only receive from God in correlation with Who we know Him to be. Find out more on today's Treasured Truth. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Old Testament: 1 Chronicles 21–23 1 Chronicles 21–23 (Listen) David's Census Brings Pestilence 21 Then Satan stood against Israel and incited David to number Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army, “Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.” 3 But Joab said, “May the LORD add to his people a hundred times as many as they are! I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David provided materials in great quantity before his death. Solomon Charged to Build the Temple 6 Then he called for Solomon his son and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel. 7 David said to Solomon, “My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the LORD my God. 8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed so much blood before me on the earth. 9 Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his surrounding enemies. For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. 10 He shall build a house for my name. He shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.' 11 “Now, my son, the LORD be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as he has spoken concerning you. 12 Only, may the LORD grant you discretion and understanding, that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the LORD your God. 13 Then you will prosper if you are careful to observe the statutes and the rules that the LORD commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Fear not; do not be dismayed. 14 With great pains I have provided for the house of the LORD 100,000 talents3 of gold, a million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond weighing, for there is so much of it; timber and stone, too, I have provided. To these you must add. 15 You have an abundance of workmen: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and all kinds of craftsmen without number, skilled in working 16 gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Arise and work! The LORD be with you!” 17 David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18 “Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not given you peace4 on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the LORD and his people. 19 Now set your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the LORD.” David Organizes the Levites 23 When David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel. 2 David5 assembled all the leaders of Israel and the priests and the Levites. 3 The Levites, thirty years old and upward, were numbered, and the total was 38,000 men. 4 “Twenty-four thousand of these,” David said,6 “shall have charge of the work in the house of the LORD, 6,000 shall be officers and judges, 5 4,000 gatekeepers, and 4,000 shall offer praises to the LORD with the instruments that I have made for praise.” 6 And David organized them in divisions corresponding to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 7 The sons of Gershon7 were Ladan and Shimei. 8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three. 9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers' houses of Ladan. 10 And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei. 11 Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, therefore they became counted as a single father's house. 12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four. 13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart to dedicate the most holy things, that he and his sons forever should make offerings before the LORD and minister to him and pronounce blessings in his name forever. 14 But the sons of Moses the man of God were named among the tribe of Levi. 15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer. 16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief. 17 The sons of Eliezer: Rehabiah the chief. Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many. 18 The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief. 19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth. 20 The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief and Isshiah the second. 21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish. 22 Eleazar died having no sons, but only daughters; their kinsmen, the sons of Kish, married them. 23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth, three. 24 These were the sons of Levi by their fathers' houses, the heads of fathers' houses as they were listed according to the number of the names of the individuals from twenty years old and upward who were to do the work for the service of the house of the LORD. 25 For David said, “The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he dwells in Jerusalem forever. 26 And so the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the things for its service.” 27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered from twenty years old and upward. 28 For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God. 29 Their duty was also to assist with the showbread, the flour for the grain offering, the wafers of unleavened bread, the baked offering, the offering mixed with oil, and all measures of quantity or size. 30 And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the LORD, and likewise at evening, 31 and whenever burnt offerings were offered to the LORD on Sabbaths, new moons, and feast days, according to the number required of them, regularly before the LORD. 32 Thus they were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the service of the house of the LORD. Plans for Travel 5 I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, 6 and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8 But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9 for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. 10 When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. 11 So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers. Final Instructions 12 Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will2 to come now. He will come when he has opportunity. 13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love. 15 Now I urge you, brothers3—you know that the household4 of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—16 be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer. 17 I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence, 18 for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people. Greetings 19 The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord. 20 All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. 21 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. 22 If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!5 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. I will not take for the LORD what is yours, nor offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” 25 So David paid Ornan 600 shekels1 of gold by weight for the site. 26 And David built there an altar to the LORD and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings and called on the LORD, and the LORD2 answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering. 22 Then David said, “Here shall be the house of the LORD God and here the altar of burnt offering for Israel.” David Prepares for Temple Building 2 David commanded to gather together the resident aliens who were in the land of Israel, and he set stonecutters to prepare dressed stones for building the house of God. 3 David also provided great quantities of iron for nails for the doors of the gates and for clamps, as well as bronze in quantities beyond weighing, 4 and cedar timbers without number, for the Sidonians and Tyrians brought great quantities of cedar to David. 5 For David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands. (ESV) New Testament: Matthew 15 Matthew 15 (Listen) Traditions and Commandments 15 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,' and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.' 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,”1 6 he need not honor his father.' So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word2 of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'” What Defiles a Person 10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” 13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides.3 And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16 And he said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?4 18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.” The Faith of a Canaanite Woman 21 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.5 Jesus Heals Many 29 Jesus went on from there and walked beside the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them, 31 so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel. Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand 32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” 33 And the disciples said to him, “Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?” 34 And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.” 35 And directing the crowd to sit down on the ground, 36 he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 37 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 38 Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And after sending away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan. Psalm 28 is a prayer in the face of fear. As David pens this psalm he is filled with fear — fear of judgment, fear of death, fear of God not answering his prayer, fear of being overthrown by the wicked. Amid his fear, David cried out to God in prayer. While he laments his state, he knows, perhaps from previous experience, that one of the best responses to fear is prayer. While prayer is not a magic wand that removes all fears, it does help to redirect our thoughts to the One who can minister to us and help us to grapple with those fears.
Thursday 1st July 2021 As we've mentioned before, central bank speakers are having little influence on the markets since the sharp response to the last FOMC meeting. As David de Garis says on today's podcast, investors should wait for the evidence, with the non-farm payrolls on Friday the next significant cab off the rank. The ADP numbers overnight were down on April, and could be revised down further, as is often the case. There's also discussion about weakness in the Aussie dollar, despite the iron ore price, Andy Haldane's parting words from the Bank of England and uncertainty over China's growth.

As David continues to provide an answer to why Christians should be engaged in politics, he explores why Abraham Kuyper, three short years before becoming prime minister of the Netherlands in 1901, said, “Protestantism alone wanders about in the wilderness without aim or direction, moving hither and thither, without making any progress.” In America, the Ozzie and Harriet days seemed to say otherwise, but this week a Gallup Poll said 82% of Americans believe religious influence is in decline. What happened that Kuyper perhaps foresaw? Support the show: https://www.factennessee.org/donate See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Listening In (With Permission): Conversations About Today's Pressing Health Care Topics
Suzanne Delbanco talks with David Vivero, CEO and Co-Founder of Amino Health, a health care financial wellness solution that combines data, design, and consumer-first thinking to curate personalized recommendations for specific care needs. Prior to Amino, David was VP of Rentals at Zillow, a consumer internet company that has transformed the home and rental marketplace through increased transparency and a strong user experience. A self-described “product guy,” David Vivero shares his view on where price transparency can make the biggest impact for patients and plan sponsors in the commercial health care market. David and Suzanne discuss the federal government's recent price transparency legislations, including the Hospital Price Transparency Rule, the Transparency in Coverage Rule, and the No Surprises Act. Taken together, these three pieces of legislation have the potential to catalyze a “Cambrian Explosion” of new digital health tools, consumer experiences, and potentially even new types of health plans or business models that improve coverage and care delivery. As David wrote in a June 2021 commentary for Fast Company, these regulations bring “health care one step closer to obeying traditional market dynamics in which cost and value are correlated.” In this podcast, David Vivero explores why he's hopeful that the Transparency in Coverage Rule will create more of an impact than the Hospital Price Transparency rule has to date. A major difference lies in the penalties: the Transparency in Coverage Rule is a lot heftier at $100 per person per day for plans compared to $300 per day for hospitals in the Price Transparency rule. Finally, David shines a light on how new industries take time to reach their full potential, which is why he enthusiastic about the role of health technology products can play in helping make health care more affordable and user-centric moving forward. Featured quote: “In my view, price transparency is a platform. It's like Microsoft Windows, a basic platform or operating system. And, on top of that, all sorts of applications can be built that further the objectives of the U.S. health care system and the American economy.”
As David's time to die drew near, he commanded his son, Solomon, saying, “I am going the way of all the earth. So be strong, and prove yourself a man” (1 Kings 2:1-2). Not long before passing away, David talked to his son (Solomon) about manhood. He admonished him to step up and be a […]
Friday 18th June 2021 The US dollar continued to rise yesterday, after the hawkish comments from the Fed. As David de Grais discusses on today's podcast, it's impetus was enough to squash any positive currency response to Australia's employment numbers and New Zealand's GDP read yesterday, both of which were way higher than anticipated. And yet Philip Lowe continued to set the expectation that Australian rates wouldn't rise until 2024. The road to recovery isn't straight forward though, with US unemployment claims rising last week and Britain's infection rate rising sharply, despite the vaccines. UK retail sales will garner a bit of attention today.
Not everything that is considered "wisdom" is something that is from God. There is a wisdom from below, and a wisdom from above, and the first 16 verses of chapter 18 display these types of wisdom perfectly. David has just defeated Goliath...so now what? This moment set David in a position of fame and prominence among the people of Israel for the rest of his life, but God did not open the door of opportunity for him to take the throne just yet. As David and Saul talk, something happens within the heart of Jonathan, God reveals to Jonathan that David will be the next king of Israel and he willfully and joyfully yields to God's choice. As David faithfully follows the Lord and doesn't seek his own glory, God establishes him more and more among the people. Meanwhile, envy and selfish ambition drive Saul mad. The greatest wisdom we could ever recognize and submit to is the Lordship of Jesus...both for initial salvation, as well as continuing through everyday life.
David Eells - 6/13/21 Death in the Leftist Capital / Trumps Return Timothy Dixon - 5/24/21 (David's notes in red) In my dream I was walking along the Potomac River in Washington DC. As I was walking I heard a rattling sound; like a rattlesnake. I was questioning in my spirit, “What is this that I am hearing?” (Nurses describe the terminal respiratory secretions, also known as a “death rattle.” A death rattle is a distinctive sound that a person may make as they are coming to the end of their life and may no longer be able to swallow or cough effectively enough to clear their saliva.) I felt such trouble in my heart as I walked around the area. In my dream the big bridge crossing the river was not there, it was gone… (The broad way out, mans way out, of this death is not available to most.) I was walking on the shore and… to my right, which would be South, would have been where the Lincoln Memorial and the mall entrance would be. (They were both gone.) (The forefathers ways and leadership are not remembered) I continued walking and and as I got into the city limits of DC, I crossed the Potomac River and I started walking across the national mall. There I saw a man sitting and looking up towards the capitol building. He had long, gray hair and he resembled an ancient Native American Indian. (Representing the original owners of this land, which was taken away from them by legalized crime. In parallel, the Lord gave this land to our forefathers who gave us the Constitution and a more moral system of governance, but it was stolen by the DS satanist criminals. Even the Churches were stolen by a corrupt bunch of spiritual criminals who do not pattern themselves after scripture.) I knew he was a prophet in his time. His back was to me and he asked me, “Can you hear? Can you hear the death rattles?” This question caught me off guard because I didn't know what to think. I didn't understand what was going on. I asked this native prophet, “Excuse me, what are you saying? Is there judgment here in DC; in Washington?”… He said, “You can hear!” (Notice, it changed from, “Can you hear?” to, “You can hear!”) (You can hear the death rattles prophesying the death of a criminal government.) And when he said this, I remember it stuck out to me. He was telling me something that I had already heard before. I had heard the death rattles before. He said, “You can hear the death rattles. The ‘great spirit' has come down!” (The Lord is coming to judge the Edomites who factioned against their own brethren in government and church. Deb Horton just got this word in our morning prayer meeting. Isa 63:1-4 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment. 4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.) This confused me. I wanted to know if we worshiped the same God. I asked him, “Do you mean the Spirit of God?” and he answered and said, “He's the only Great Spirit.” In my dream I didn't understand why it was a Native American sitting there. He was so focused on the death rattles. I could hear the sound of the death rattles all through the city. I could feel an angelic spirit amidst the judgment that was all around us. I could feel the reverence and power of the hands of God; the angels of death and of judgment. I could hear the sound all through the city and it was all around us. I sensed that this Indian recognized the power that was there because it had been part of his culture. It was as if he had wisdom about our current time because he experienced something similar long ago. He was a very wise-looking man. (Our early wise men have been ignored.) I knew this native prophet, which is the only way I know to describe him, was a man that could sense the strong presence of and had an understanding of what he called, “The Great Spirit" and what I called the Alpha the Omega; the Almighty God. …The American Indians have an understanding… of faith that is true and spiritual but they don't explain it like we do in our English language and sometimes it can be confusing to the listener. …They do not explain things like the American or English preachers do. …and this prophet was totally out of place standing in my current time but I knew he was something from an ancient time. This man represented the voice of the prophets (which is who our early father were) and his message was that judgment by death has come instantly and run throughout the land. Judgment has come against the wicked but not against God's true people. It's for all the politicians who chose evil in various multiple states. I knew, supernaturally, that this Native American was a messenger of the Lord in my dream… I sensed that the judgment that's been placed on America, especially on Washington DC, is because of what was done to the native prophets on American soil. It began with them being forced to leave their traditions and their faith and their land. Sickness and disease came upon them and many died… (The leadership of the early settlers provided the American Indians with blankets purposely infested with small pox in order to cull the Native population so that they could confiscate their land and kill them off as a people.) He was speaking to the Great Spirit of God, in my dream, as he was sitting there in a portal of time. He was saying, "They did this to us and now they're doing it to you.” (In other words the DS are spreading plague, especially through the vac/cines to depopulate us but the Lord is using it to depopulate them.) I could see that they had already, once, done this to the American Indian people; to steal the land and that is why he was sitting there at this gateway… this portal of time. He was saying they did this to us and now they're gonna do it to you again! I needed to confirm what he meant so I asked, “So you mean death is on the politicians in DC? He said, “Yes. The Great Spirit has brought death rattles…” I then saw a darkness that the physical eye could not see. It began to move like a dark cloud. The Native American was sitting on a sidewalk at a gated area just off the street that led to the White House and the Capitol building towards those same steps that have been in many of my dreams. He asked again, “Do you hear the death rattles and it was established in my spirit in the dream that we were talking about the same God. There was no mistake that this man was an ancient American prophet of God from of old. He had come through time, in a vision, through a dream to speak to me. And I had a supernatural revelation that the evil spirit that had motivated the politicians in this Capitol Building to attack our freedom, was the same spirit that took out the tribes who worshipped the Great Spirit… The same evil spirit that stomped them out to take away their freedom and blamed it on something else… was the same spirit. …This same evil spirit is the satanic Baal god that the Lord recently called a Dagon spirit; a god of the Philistines. (The DS are learning that the Christians God is stronger than theirs so they desire to kill all Christians. 1Sa 5:2 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. 3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. 4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands lay cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him. ... 7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us; for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.) …It's here… The death rattles are hitting the Capitol… and judgment has been coming for years. It has now hit the city says the Lord of Hosts. As the dream was ending I saw the darkness in the Spirit that you couldn't see with your eyes moving among the death rattles through DC; moving to the political arena. It was not just the Washington DC area, but it also had an authority in Portland Oregon. People started having problems and instantly passed away. Judgment had hit the political arena. it reminded me of the death angel in Exodus that came to claim the firstborn of the Egyptian people. People literally began falling over dead. Some fell over their desks inside the Capitol. I knew, in my spirit, that President Trump is going to come back; just as the children were delivered at the Red Sea. We will be delivered! My finger was on the phrase, “I testify unto thee!”. (This text is a lamentation over the fallen leadership of God's people, apostate Jerusalem, which also led the body astray and their destruction at the hands of DS Babylon.) Lam. 2:13 (11-17 in context) Mine eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured upon the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city. 12 They say to their mothers, Where is grain and wine? When they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, When their soul is poured out into their mothers bosom. 13 What shall I testify unto thee? what shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? For thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee? 14 Thy prophets have seen for thee false and foolish visions; And they have not uncovered thine iniquity, to bring back thy captivity, But have seen for thee false oracles and causes of banishment. 15 All that pass by clap their hands at thee; They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem,'saying , Is this the city that men called The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? 16 All thine enemies have opened their mouth wide against thee; They hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed her up; Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it. 17 Jehovah hath done that which he purposed; he hath fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old; He hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: And he hath caused the enemy to rejoice over thee; he hath exalted the horn of thine adversaries. We are only sharing this portion from the YouTube video because that is all the Lord wanted for us to hear and understand…) Liberty's Prophetic word from the Lord: “The first of many deaths are coming. More is on the way; more death and destruction as I prepare to do a mighty work on the earth. Many deaths are coming. (These will be physical deaths and spiritual deaths) There are many deaths coming in all different forms as my manifested glory goes forward. This will be a side effect of the kingdom of God rising and the kingdom of darkness falling. There is a death coming but many more are coming behind it. There's things I will be allowing on the earth to bring my people closer to me and to woo the unsaved into my presence. The unsaved will literally have nowhere to turn but to the light of Christ as I am preparing the earth for the final outpouring, hearts will come in in droves; looking for help, deliverance and hope in the midst of despair. There are times I have to allow despair to woo people in. It is not a terrible thing; it is a beautiful thing. Some people can only be brought up out of the pit this way. They will not receive me without there being many spiritual and physical deaths. The Body of Christ must be ready to receive these souls. They must be ready to manifest the Presence; because the Presence is what's going to woo them in. My Presence is where perfect love is and perfect hope. They will need this perfect love and this perfect hope. (It will be our job to bring it in; to build it; to release it.) This is what I'm preparing the Body of Christ; for a death is coming and many more.” Then he reminded me and he said, “Remember the dream I gave you last August …The one with the death count?” and I said, “Yes I do.” and the Lord said, “This is what that dream was about.” (…you better pay attention… because He said, “I'm real. The Bible is real. Hell and Heaven are real.” But in the midst of this word there is so much hope because the Lord is saying, “Although these things must take place; It's for My purpose and My kingdom.” So we have to know in our hearts that there's going to be so much fruit from the despair and the destruction.)… I had asked the Lord back in August of 2020, when the death count was reported as rising from CV-19, “What's happening here? How many are gonna die in the midst of this?”… Then the Lord gave me this dream: In the dream there was a rolodex right in front of me and as I was looking at it, the rolodex first read, “2.5 million.” In my heart, in the dream, I knew what He was saying, “2.5 million deaths”. But then something was happening in the Spirit. Something was changing. I don't know what all was going on in the midst of it but, it flipped and the rolodex flipped to 3.5 million and I was like, “Oh dear God!… Then it flipped one more time and it landed on a final number which read… 350 million people. Boom. (This could be deaths world wide from the va/cc/ines plague. Or it could include the deaths from the result of war between the DS and the allies.) Dream over. So I got up and I knew what he told me. I knew what he was saying and I sat down with him and I wrote it down and I said, Lord… this can't be real. Is this what you're telling me? Is this an answer to my question and he said, “Yes.” And I said, “God! How is that even plausible? And, at the time, he did not answer me but He let me know there would be 350 million deaths. (This is probably a world wide death count and it could be coming quickly as more and more people are taking the jab and the passing months bring the count up geometrically.) Link to You Tube Video: https://youtu.be/Vy6q6ggQzpw The Winged Destroyer Brings Judgment and Death Marianna Payne - 5/29/21 (David's notes in red) In this dream, I was in a car with three other people that I have never met before. The road that we were on continued straight down the center of a city. Big tall buildings were on each side of the road that we were on. (The city represents Babylonish religion which we are commanded to come out of and be separate. The Bride and those with her travel on the straight highway of holiness road. Pro 21:8, (NLT) The guilty walk a crooked path; the innocent travel a straight road.) Then all of the sudden, out in the horizon, high in the left side of sky, we saw a red dot blazing as it was descending. The dot became large like an asteroid or meteorite. It was a big ball of fire that had a large tail and it was falling towards the right side of the city. (Judgment is in the hand of the Lord and He sets the wicked goats on His left. But He uses them to judge those in rebellion on the right. His judgment will fall on the apostate church who think they are in right standing with God because of their religious traditions. God will use the DS Babylon to judge the apostate church first and bring His elect out from among the Harlot religions of Babylon. 1Pe 4:17 For the time is come for judgment to begin at the house of God: and if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear? You notice the greater judgment on the wicked will come after they bring the saints to their cross.) It was about to crash onto the earth, but it changed its trajectory and was now aimed straight towards us, aimed to fall right on top of us in the car. The asteroid crashed a couple of miles in front of us. (Bride escapes the destruction) The crater exploded in fire and a wave of fire bellowed out from it and the earth quaked from the impact. The entire city lost power and the windows in the buildings blew out and the sky darkened as if it was now night time. (Spiritually speaking, the Harlot church in Babylon will lose power when God's judgment falls and spiritual darkness covers the earth. There will be a mass exodus of God's elect fleeing the darkness of apostasy through the great revival and outpouring of the Holy Spirit that God is sending at the same time His judgments begin. They will come out of the darkness to the light of the Man-child and Bride. Isa. 60:1-5, Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be carried in the arms. 5 Then thou shalt see and be radiant, and thy heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee.) The smoke settled and the fire subsided. Then out from the crater of the asteroid, crawled a four-legged creature. It was a yellow or tan lion with a large mane. It had two huge wings like an eagle coming out from its belly and had long pointed horns on each side of its face and a snout like a bull. Its entire body was glowing in flames and stood about 10 feet tall. (10 is the number of the Law and of judgment.) The ground was smoldering beneath it. Its eyes were fiery red, and it looked right at us. (This is the Babylonish Beast who hates traditional Christianity and will devour it as in Rev 17.) Then it started to run towards us. As it passed buildings, everything would become consumed in its fires and be destroyed. (Dan. 7:2-10, Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of heaven brake forth upon the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings (This was Babylon representing at this time DS Babylon): I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a man; and a man's heart was given to it. 5 And, behold, another beast, a second, like to a bear (This was the Medo-Persian bear with Cyrus at its head who is a type of President Trump who will conquer DS Babylon.); and it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. The driver of the car drove us off towards the right side of the city. The creature was stopping at each building and devouring everyone it could find. We were able to get some distance between us and the creature. (The Beast will be able to devour everyone that it finds. That is, all those who don't have the Psalm 91 protection of being hidden beneath the shadow of Fathers wings through sanctification and faith in the promises of God.) We arrived at a small older looking house. It was the only house in the entire city that had its lights on. An elderly woman was standing at the door and beckoned for us to come in. (This elderly woman represents Wisdom whose house the Bride lives in and soon those fleeing DS Babylon will seek out. Her house is small and old because she represents the ancient paths that only a small remnant, throughout History, have followed. Pro. 8:1-12, Doth not wisdom cry, And understanding put forth her voice? 2 On the top of high places by the way, Where the paths meet, she standeth; 3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, At the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud: 4 Unto you, O men, I call; And my voice is to the sons of men. 5 O ye simple, understand prudence; And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart. 6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things; And the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7 For my mouth shall utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverse in them. 9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, And right to them that find knowledge. 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; And knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it. 12 I wisdom have made prudence my dwelling, And find out knowledge and discretion. In times of destruction wisdom is more valuable than silver and gold.) The three other people and myself walked into the house and it was then that I realized that I was with my youngest son, Isaiah, who is 4 years old. Isaiah means “God is salvation”. (Isaiah was a wise man who brought salvation to those who had ears to hear. Isa 33:5-6 Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness. 6 And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure.) Isaiah and I walked around the inside of the house, I thought that I wanted to seek shelter in the innermost part of the house. We walked through the kitchen, past the bathroom, and through the hallway. We entered a bedroom and I sat on the floor just past the doorway and next to the bed. Although the house had power, the lights were off in this room. (Because it is a time for rest in the promises under the shadow of His wings.) I had my son sit in my lap as I prayed. I started praying in English and then began praying in tongues. Soon my prayer in tongues turned into a more fervent prayer and became louder. (The Bride intercedes for the rest of the people of God just as Queen Esther did before king Ahasuerus.) At this point, I realized that the room was dark because someone was sleeping in the King-sized bed beside where I was sitting on the floor. I hadn't noticed Him laying there but, as I was praying in tongues, He started to pray in tongues also, even though He was still sleeping. (Jesus is the arm of the Lord. Isa. 51:9, Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the monster?) He prayed in tongues and then he said in English, “The Destroyer.” Then he prayed something more in tongues and then said in English, “Earth Quake.” Then he prayed once again in tongues and he said something else in English, but I can't remember it now. (When the Lord comes in His Man-child body it will be the time of great earthquakes and a Passover from the Destroyer. Psa. 7:6-13, Arise, O Jehovah, in thine anger; Lift up thyself against the rage of mine adversaries, And awake for me; thou hast commanded judgment. 7 And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about; And over them return thou on high. 8 Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples: Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me. 9 O let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous: For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts. 10 My shield is with God, Who saveth the upright in heart. 11 God is a righteous judge, Yea, a God that hath indignation every day. 12 If a man turn not, he will whet his sword; He hath bent his bow, and made it ready. 13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; He maketh his arrows fiery shafts.) Then he rolled over and sat up from the bed and looked straight at me; right into my eyes. He was a middle eastern looking man with brown skin and dark hair. He was in his 30s. (I know that this was Jesus!) His eyes were all encompassing and filled me up with peace. Then he laid back down and went to sleep. (Jesus, in the Man-child, is currently at rest, but He will arise soon in anointing to bring new life and revival to His elect and judgment to the wicked.) There were also four children that were also sleeping near the bed and all four children got up to see what was happening outside. I motioned for them to keep quiet as they left the room. When they opened the bedroom door, I could see outside as if through their eyes. The glowing creature was sitting outside the house waiting for anyone to come out in order to devour them. (Anyone is without the Passover protection of the blood of the Lamb if they leave the house on which the blood is. Exo 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two sideposts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.) Then I was somehow transported to another location. I was in a tall building that had 14 stories. (The foundation has already been laid which is Christ and then the early Apostles, etc) Inside this building I knew that Dave Nelson and I were looking for other people to bring back with us to Jesus's house. (Dave here represents the David Man-child reformers) (Isaac: I believe the 14th floor represents that we are the last 14th generation after Christ and his spiritual seed mentioned in the Mat. Ch.1 genealogy. Mat.1:17, So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away unto Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations. We are the 42nd generation as David Eells's book explains that it was actually 14, 14, and 13 generations mentioned. The 14th generation is said here to be Christ, and it is the body of Christ in our day. “What Has Been Shall Be: The Man-Child Returns” talks about this on page 22-29. Psa.22:30 A seed shall serve him; It shall be told of the Lord unto the next generation. Psa. 89:3-4, I have made a covenant with My Chosen; I have sworn to David My servant, I will establish your seed forever And build up your throne to all generations. Selah.) While on the 14th floor, I was with two other people that I have never met in real life. We were hiding and waiting in a bathroom. The 2 other people were in the corner behind me and I was praying with them. Dave Nelson rushed into the bathroom and crystal-clear water began to pour out of his mouth. It propelled at least three feet out and was at a high velocity and long duration. When Dave spoke, he said, “The Destroyer cannot be everywhere at once. While it is in the basement, Let's get out!” (Isaac: I think that Dave Nelson represents the Davidic Man-child ministry.) (The Man child ministers will deliver the pure water of the Word to the elect people of God once the anointing has come and they will give guidance that will help the people avoid destruction.) Dave Nelson led me and the other 2 people out of the 14th floor and down towards the road to his vehicle. The floor level of the building was an Outdoor Store; a store that sells camping, hunting, fishing, and sports items. (Representing a wilderness period for the people which is just ahead when people will be in need. We are not far from the tribulation but this may come before that.) The entire store was in disarray. Shelves were pushed over, and items had been looted. There were still some strangers looting as we walked through. One of the people that was talking with us, asked if he needed to grab a sleeping bag or lantern or something. Dave said, “No, God will provide.” (In the wilderness God will provide the needs of His people supernaturally.) We walked out of the store and saw that Dave's vehicle was a salvaged, pieced together car with parts that didn't look like they should go together, much less run. The vehicle had a sedan front and a shopping buggy basket as a trunk. (God can choose the weak things of the world to show His power to save and provide.) I then noticed that a young teenage boy was with us. It was my Isaiah. He had matured into a young man overnight and I only recognized his necklace that he always wears. The outside buildings were frosted over, and I said to Isaiah that he should wrap himself with a blanket for our car ride back to Jesus's house. He said plainly, “I'm covered.” (Isaiah represents the fruit of the Bride that will mature very quickly when the Man child ministry and the end time revival begin.) Then I woke up. Biden Voters Lose Their Minds Bill Steenland - 11/22/20 (David's notes in red) In my dream a Democrat was telling me about what they have seen at their “parties”. She was very distraught and confused because the people in the Joe Biden “party” were being decapitated by an angel. She was put off that the people were still alive but with no heads. I think it means they have no power to rationalize or think. (As this far left party has factioned against the right wing and Christians and lost their brains so God speaks of the Edomites who factioned against their chosen brother Israel and lost all wisdom. Both David and the Nations conquered them and so it will be. (Jer 49:7-8 Of Edom. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished? 8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I shall visit him…. 10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is destroyed, and his brethren, and his neighbors; and he is not. … 13 For I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes. 14 I have heard tidings from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.) I think this also means these people are going to “lose it” or lose “their heads” when the courts rule in favor of President Trump on the vote cheating they have done. I also can't help but think it's a form of reprobation similar to the mark or ultimate judgement. These are the people who have been taking in faction and witchcraft against President Trump, America, and the Christians for four straight years, so I'm not surprised. It's Almost Trump 'TIME'! Vanessa Weeks - 3/2/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed a few of us here were sitting in a circle at the Shaw's. Michael (meaning: Who is like God?) was standing and telling us that when the news is released of the De/ep Sta/te's actions, that very soon after that, Time magazine would have Trump on the cover with a story, and it will be very important. (We've heard of the Durham report coming out soon. Much other declassification is coming out now. This would be a timely declassification before Trump is reinstated as President of the United States and also after the election audit results in the swing states are revealed.) In the dream, I saw that it would be a large magazine like 'Look magazine', which I remember from my childhood. (Barry: The magazine was Time magazine, but it was in a large format like "Look" magazine was, 11"x14". Look magazine stopped publication in 1971, so maybe this hints at a return to how life was in the past.) (Trump's second administration or 'TIME' in office will be much greater than his first term. God is using him to reform governments around the world.) Time magazine now is very left leaning so this would be a miracle. (The DS MSM will be taken down during the 10 days of darkness. Q says, “Dark to Light”. When the lights come back on, we will have a free and independent media, temporarily run by the military, at least for awhile.) I asked why is it so important? I received by faith at random Isa 1:7 (in context 7-9) Your country is desolate; your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. 8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. 9 Except Jehovah of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Here is another awesome parallel between President Trump and the Man-child ministries, which is Jesus manifested in them by His Word and Spirit. It's Almost David's 'TIME'! Eve Brast - 6/29/16 (David's notes in red) I knew I had to hurry because Curt was having a going-away party at his house because he and David were going somewhere and I didn't want to be late for the occasion. (The name Curtis means "wise counsel". Through the wise counsel of the Word, the Davids are led to their spiritual death [and resurrection].) When I got to the party, Curt had it all set up in his library. Curt (as Wisdom) had a very expensive, large house and his library had upscale wood paneling with many shelves full of books. (Col 2:2-3 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, even Christ, 3 in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden. {Pro.9:1} Wisdom hath builded her house; She hath hewn out her seven pillars: {2} She hath killed her beasts; She hath mingled her wine; She hath also furnished her table. {Mat.7:24} Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.) It wasn't a party with a bunch of food; it was just like our regular weekly Local UBM meetings on Monday and Friday, only it was a special celebration for their departure. When I got there, the praise and worship was just ending and as the last notes were played. I sat down on the floor to the right side of the library in front of Curt. He was seated on a stool with his feet firmly planted on the floor (rooted and grounded on the firm foundation of Christ) and his two hands rested on top of his knees. (Not trusting in the arm of the flesh.) As I turned and looked up at him, his face was red and he was teary-eyed as he watched David step up to the podium to teach us and give his farewell address. (Representing the passing away of the self life of the David Man-child body.). When he started his farewell speech, he intermittently extolled all of Curt's strengths and his dedication, and how we've all benefited from his service to us. (This is true of Curt and of what he represents: wisdom.) (Wise counsel is a tree of life. Pro.3:18 She [wisdom] is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her.) I looked back at Curt and knew this was hard on him. I then looked at all the books behind him on the shelves and wondered how he was going to pack them all to take with them. (They are in his heart library.) Then I turned back toward David who was still speaking and noticed that Curt had the whole opposite wall of the library dedicated to his TIME Magazine collection. Each magazine was on its own little shelf and was in a clear plastic protector. (The wisdom gained over time is cumulative and valuable bringing us all through the experience of losing our life to gain our higher life in Christ.) I saw that the latest copy (in the last TIME) in the center of the display had an Andy Warhol-style picture on the cover of David Eells looking upward. (A type of the David Man-child's expectation being Heavenly. After their spiritual death there will be a resurrection to the throne. Rev 12:5 And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne. Col.3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. 3 For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. {4} When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.) It was done in skintones with red, white, and blue mixed in. (Those who truly love their country will lose their old life to gain their Christ life.) (This reminds me of my dream of our corner of Zion coming down from Heaven on top of the 12 dead panthers with the white paws and a voice telling me (as a type of the Bride) I was now promoted to President of the United States after the order of the tribe of Zebulun.) (The Bride body will rule as the Lord said the overcomers would do. Esther, the Bride, ruled under the direction of Mordecai, as a type of the David Man-child. As David was the head of Jerusalem, which was called "the Bride" in Revelation, so the Man-child Davids rule through the body of the Bride. Here is the portion of that dream Eve speaks of: Suddenly, a loud voice above and behind me said, "You have been promoted to President (presiding over) of the United States, after the order of the tribe of Zebulun!" (Can a David Man-child, head member of the Bride body, as David was, be President of the U.S.? Only in regard to his exercising authority for God. Even Jesus, who had all authority to speak for the Father, said, {Joh.5:30} I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. We received His Word a few days ago: {6:38} For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. So the Lord is the real President but He has a body of people He speaks through whom He is calling "President" here. The word TIME was above David's head on the cover. (Time is up for the David's crucifixion. Time to go to the throne.) David had been revealed to everyone and was going away with Curt because he had a bigger job to do now. (Promotion/anointing of the David Man-children [to the throne after their spiritual death to self].) This is when I woke up. I remember Missy had a revelation or a word about it being "TIME". I asked Father for a word by faith at random today and it really fits this dream He gave me this morning: {Est.10:2} And all his acts of power and might, together with a full account of the greatness of Mordecai (a type of the David Man-child company), whom the king had promoted, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Media and Persia? {3} Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews. (This will be true of the Man-child ministers around the globe.) Full Text of ReadingsFeast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lectionary: 572All podcast readings are produced by the USCCB and are from the Catholic Lectionary, based on the New American Bible and approved for use in the United States _______________________________________The Saint of the day is Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Maryof the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary This is a fairly late feast, going back only to the 13th or 14th century. It was established widely throughout the Church to pray for unity. The present date of celebration was set in 1969, in order to follow the Annunciation of the Lord and precede the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. Like most feasts of Mary, it is closely connected with Jesus and his saving work. The more visible actors in the visitation drama (see Luke 1:39-45) are Mary and Elizabeth. However, Jesus and John the Baptist steal the scene in a hidden way. Jesus makes John leap with joy—the joy of messianic salvation. Elizabeth, in turn, is filled with the Holy Spirit and addresses words of praise to Mary—words that echo down through the ages. It is helpful to recall that we do not have a journalist’s account of this meeting. Rather Luke, speaking for the Church, gives a prayerful poet’s rendition of the scene. Elizabeth’s praise of Mary as “the mother of my Lord” can be viewed as the earliest Church’s devotion to Mary. As with all authentic devotion to Mary, Elizabeth’s (the Church’s) words first praise God for what God has done to Mary. Only secondly does she praise Mary for trusting God’s words. Then comes the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55). Here, Mary herself—like the Church—traces all her greatness to God. Reflection One of the invocations in Mary’s litany is “Ark of the Covenant.” Like the Ark of the Covenant of old, Mary brings God’s presence into the lives of other people. As David danced before the Ark, John the Baptist leaps for joy. As the Ark helped to unite the 12 tribes of Israel by being placed in David’s capital, so Mary has the power to unite all Christians in her son. At times, devotion to Mary may have occasioned some divisiveness, but we can hope that authentic devotion will lead all to Christ and therefore, to one another. Morning: 1 Chronicles 20–22 1 Chronicles 20–22 (Listen) The Capture of Rabbah 20 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, Joab led out the army and ravaged the country of the Ammonites and came and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. And Joab struck down Rabbah and overthrew it. 2 And David took the crown of their king from his head. He found that it weighed a talent1 of gold, and in it was a precious stone. And it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. 3 And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor2 with saws and iron picks and axes.3 And thus David did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. Philistine Giants Killed 4 And after this there arose war with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Sippai, who was one of the descendants of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued. 5 And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair struck down Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. 6 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. 7 And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, struck him down. 8 These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants. David’s Census Brings Pestilence 21 Then Satan stood against Israel and incited David to number Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army, “Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.” 3 But Joab said, “May the LORD add to his people a hundred times as many as they are! Are they not, my lord the king, all of them my lord’s servants? Why then should my lord require this? Why should it be a cause of guilt for Israel?” 4 But the king’s word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came back to Jerusalem. 5 And Joab gave the sum of the numbering of the people to David. In all Israel there were 1,100,000 men who drew the sword, and in Judah 470,000 who drew the sword. 6 But he did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering, for the king’s command was abhorrent to Joab. 7 But God was displeased with this thing, and he struck Israel. 8 And David said to God, “I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.” 9 And the LORD spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying, 10 “Go and say to David, ‘Thus says the LORD, Three things I offer you; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.’” 11 So Gad came to David and said to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Choose what you will: 12 either three years of famine, or three months of devastation by your foes while the sword of your enemies overtakes you, or else three days of the sword of the LORD, pestilence on the land, with the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.’ Now decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.” 13 Then David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let your hand, O LORD my God, be against me and against my father’s house. But do not let the plague be on your people.” David Builds an Altar 18 Now the angel of the LORD had commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and raise an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19 So David went up at Gad’s word, which he had spoken in the name of the LORD. I will not take for the LORD what is yours, nor offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” 25 So David paid Ornan 600 shekels4 of gold by weight for the site. 26 And David built there an altar to the LORD and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings and called on the LORD, and the LORD5 answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering. He shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.’ 11 “Now, my son, the LORD be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as he has spoken concerning you. 14 With great pains I have provided for the house of the LORD 100,000 talents6 of gold, a million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond weighing, for there is so much of it; timber and stone, too, I have provided. And has he not given you peace7 on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the LORD and his people. 19 Now set your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the LORD.” Footnotes [1] 20:2 A talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms [2] 20:3 Compare 2 Samuel 12:31; Hebrew he sawed [3] 20:3 Compare 2 Samuel 12:31; Hebrew saws [4] 21:25 A shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams [5] 21:26 Hebrew he [6] 22:14 A talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms [7] 22:18 Or rest (see 22:9) (ESV) Evening: John 10:22–42 John 10:22–42 (Listen) I and the Father Are One 22 At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. 24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me,1 is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” 31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” 33 The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; 38 but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” 39 Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands. 40 He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained. 41 And many came to him. And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.” 42 And many believed in him there. Footnotes [1] 10:29 Some manuscripts What my Father has given to me (ESV)

My guest this week is Dr. David Rock, who coined the term NeuroLeadership and is the Co-Founder and CEO of the NeuroLeadership Institute, which has worked with over 50% of the Fortune 100 companies, to make organisations better for humans through science. David has authored four successful books, including Your Brain At Work, a business best seller and has written for and been quoted in hundreds of articles about leadership, organisational effectiveness and the brain. The centrepiece of my discussion with David is his SCARF Model, which is based on neuroscience and is designed to help us work more effectively with others. When I came across the model a few years ago, it helped me better understand myself and change the way I interact in social situations. The SCARF Model is comprised of five key domains that influence our behaviour in social and work situations. Firstly, Status - our relative importance to others. Secondly, Certainty - our ability to predict the future. Third, Autonomy - our sense of control over events. Fourth, Relatedness - how safe we feel with others. And finally fifth, Fairness - how fair we perceive the exchanges between people to be. As David explains in our discussion, these five domains activate the same threat and reward responses in our brain that we rely on for physical survival. This explains why ourselves and others will sometimes have strong emotional reactions in social situations, both at home and at work. It is a fascinating topic and one, I know, that listeners will enjoy. In our conversation, David and I discuss How the SCARF Model has grown in relevance during the pandemic The window of opportunity companies and leaders have to solve for autonomy and build a better post pandemic normal The role of leaders in enabling their organisations to be truly diverse, equitable and inclusive How companies should approach Performance Management in the future This episode is a must listen for anyone interested or involved in Neuroscience and its role in Leadership, collaboration, culture and performance. So that is Business Leaders, Chief People Officers and anyone in a Behavioural Science, People Analytics or HR Business Partner role. Support for this podcast is brought to you by Quantum Workplace. In Papua New Guinea, the Kandas tribe awaited with excitement the arrival of New Testament Bibles printed in their language. To get there, however, both the books and their visitors had to travel on the ocean in small boats to reach the village. What gave them courage to travel across great waters? Their seafaring skills, yes. But they also know who created the seas. He is the One who guides each of us across our life’s churning waves and deepest waters. As David wrote, “Where can I go from your Spirit?” (Psalm 139:7). “If I go up to the heavens, you are there . . . if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast” (vv. 8–10). These words would resonate deeply with the Kandas, who live on an island nation whose tropical coasts, dense rainforests, and rugged mountains have been called “The Last Unknown.” Yet as believers there and everywhere know, no place or problem is too remote for God. “Even the darkness will not be dark to you,” says Psalm 139:12, and “the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” On stormy waters, therefore, our Lord speaks, “Peace, be still!” and the waves and wind obey (Mark 4:39 nkjv). So, don’t fear life’s deep or turbulent waters today. Our God safely leads us ashore.
As David cries out to God in our four Psalms today, we learn the importance of preaching the Gospel (the good news that God sees us and cares and saves in Jesus) to ourselves in the middle of our turmoil. In this episode of Training Unleashed, Evan talks to David Wood, high performance coach and founder of focus.ceo, about the simple steps you can take to reap rewards that are not possible from your comfort zone. Here are some of the tips David shared: We’re more likely to regret the things we didn’t do than the things we did do. As David explained, what he wants for everyone is that when they’re sitting on their death bed that they really gave it everything, “I really went for it.” David believes that playing it safe can be one of the most dangerous things you can do. It’s perfect as it is, but there’s always more. According to David, there is always room for more. He acknowledges that it’s valid for people who are happy where they are today. There are people who, for them, not searching for more could start to get boring. And for them, “it’s perfect as it is, but I have desires and that’s also perfect.” You can’t read the label from inside the jar. For David, “I can only see what I can see and my biggest enemy is my own arrogance.” He used a game of chess to help explain this. You might see that you can take a knight, but someone else watching sees that in three moves you’re going to lose your queen. When you can get that outside perspective, you get the clarity of distance. During the interview, Evan opened himself up to coaching from David. Through David’s coaching method, Evan was able to see the situation from a different perspective. Thoughts Because of their turning from God and worshipping false gods, God has brought judgement on those who lived in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. Babylon has come in and utterly destroyed Jerusalem, killed many men, women and children, and taken captive those who were not murdered. This psalm is a lament. We do not know when it was written. Some think that it was written after the return from Babylon, some think that it is some years into the exile, while still in captivity in Babylon. What is certain is that in the midst of the exile, the writer remembered how good it was in Jerusalem, and what the reason was for their exile. They missed Jerusalem and they were sorrowful that they had sinned in such a way that God had allowed them to be in this place. And they asked God to judge Babylon for the terribly cruel treatment they had received. Beloved, we must never assume that just because God doesn't bring immediate judgement, that God is not paying attention or doesn't care when we sin. And we must not take His grace lightly or for granted. Yes, we are living in a different age than the children of Israel were. But God is still God, and sin is still sin. If we are believers, if we have asked Jesus to be our Savior and our Lord, we are not in danger of losing our salvation when we sin, but God the Father loves us enough to discipline us if necessary. He does not care about our happiness or our comfort nearly as much as he cares about the condition of our heart. He has the right to do what He must to bring us to repentance and a return to the path He wants us on. I pray that He will always correct me. As David wrote in the last two verses of our reading today, chapter 139, verses 23 and 24: "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! Always in his heart, kind of sounds like David’s relationship to God. As David writes a song of Ascents, of “going up” to church, he includes his feelings about his own relationship to God and likens himself to a child clinging to its mother.
As David escapes, he could not find refuge anywhere in this world to deliver him from the hand of Saul. He didn’t find refuge in his king, his brother-in-law, his wife, or the priests. 13 Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went. David’s Administration 14 So David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and equity to all his people. 15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; 16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Shavsha was secretary; 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were the chief officials in the service of the king. The Ammonites Disgrace David’s Men 19 Now after this Nahash the king of the Ammonites died, and his son reigned in his place. 2 And David said, “I will deal kindly with Hanun the son of Nahash, for his father dealt kindly with me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came to the land of the Ammonites to Hanun to console him. 3 But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Have not his servants come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?” 4 So Hanun took David’s servants and shaved them and cut off their garments in the middle, at their hips, and sent them away; 5 and they departed. 15 And when the Ammonites saw that the Syrians fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, Joab’s brother, and entered the city. And it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. Please let your hand, O LORD my God, be against me and against my father’s house. But do not let the plague be on your people.” David Builds an Altar 18 Now the angel of the LORD had commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and raise an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19 So David went up at Gad’s word, which he had spoken in the name of the LORD. The Tour de France has long been considered the most elite and prestigious cycling event in the world. The course is a grueling 2,300 mile (3,500 km) race that spans over 23 days. The race is tough even for elite riders and nearly impossible for amateur cyclists. In 2009, David Rogers had a dream of completing the full Tour course as an amateur cyclist. As David and his small team prepared for their epic adventure, David soon realized that this wasn’t just about completing the full Tour de France course, it was about something much bigger and more personal. David’s ride was anything but smooth as he battled injuries, inclement weather and equipment issues and it would be one day in particular, on one of the last stages that David would fully realize why he was doing this. Tired, hurting and cold, David got on his bike for the most challenging stage of the course with a new mindset, failure didn’t come from not finishing, it came from not starting in the first place. He would forever have a new motto for life, “Just Start” #TourdeFrance #cycling #WhatsYourEverest #ReachingtheSummit #JustStart #8Seconds #ExperientialKnowledge

On this Solo Episode, David explains some of the holes in weight loss research, shines a light on why the research doesn't support weight loss as a cure for everything, and discusses the difference between weight centric and weight inclusive. He asks "If you are supposed to lose weight to live longer and stay healthy why isn't it working?". In the beginning of this podcast David is transparent about his history with using a weight centric approach, working in a bariatric center, and his transition to and training in Intuitive Eating. This is important because most people don't know that nearly all education for dietitians is fatphobic. It can be hard as a practitioner to be curious and challenge what you've been taught, then inevitably break away from the norm. Most intuitive eating dietitians have a similar story to David's and it is important that IE dietitians continue to share their stories of growth. As David talks about the holes in weight loss research he references John Robison's article about the 8 red flags of weight loss research which focuses on a commonly references weight loss research study for diabetes and heart disease - the Look AHEAD Study. Many of these red flags can be used to assess bias in any weight loss research study. During this podcast David really puts a critical eye on how weight centered research is being conducted. 8 Red Flags of Weight Loss ResearchComparing participants to non-participants Using different denominators when determining outcomes Calling it "maintenance" when the program is still on going Claiming your program is highly effective at helping achieve clinically meaningful weight loss when it really isn't Not distinguishing between the health impacts of weight loss and life style changes Claiming "savings" when there isn’t enough evidence to prove it Not considering the age of participantsNot being transparent about likely outcomes and potential negative consequences For more show notes and episode resources please check out the One Small Bite home page. Jesus Followers Fear God’s Power, Sovereignty, and Holiness; Otherwise, Jesus Says: “fear not for I am with you always” MESSAGE SUMMARY: You should fear, respect, and praise God’s power, Sovereignty, and Holiness; but, as a Jesus Follower, you should “fear not” in life’s trials and tribulations or at your time of judgment. As David’s praise tells us in Psalms 103:13: “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”. David models again and again, in Psalms, how we should praise God. For example, in Psalms 146, David says: "Put not your trust in Princes; Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, Oh my soul!". When we are wondering how to praise the Lord, we can read one of David’s Psalms to God like David’s praises to the Lord in Psalms 112:1-2: “Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.". Also, we learn in Proverbs 1:7, the “fear of the Lord” and “wisdom” are closely linked: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.". These verses from the Old Testament point to the fear, respect, and praise that God warrants and demands from His power, sovereignty, and Holiness. On the other hand, as we see when the Apostle John quotes Jesus from Revelation 1:17-18, when Jesus, in all His power and Glory, reassures us of God’s Grace and His plan for working out the Salvation and Eternal Life for all those that have accepted Jesus as their Savior: “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, ‘Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.’”. TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13). On this episode of the Park Leaders Show, David Van Cleve, joins the show to discuss locational stability in a park ranger career. As David shares in his book, ‘A Greatness of Spirit: Tales of Extraordinary Rangers at the Heart of California's State Park System’, few rangers stay the course within one state park; however, for those who do, they carry unique perspectives worth exploring. For instance, as regional managers and supervisors, rangers who stay in one park throughout their tenure have the opportunity to impact thousands of students within the same community. Through educational influence, these rangers can model high standards of excellence and promote cultural heritage for their park systems. Update: Provision for David’s House (Audio) Eve Brast - 4/4/21 Eve said: The Lord instructed us to update the David’s House page. Recently, the owner of David’s House has given a deadline of May 2nd for the purchase of David’s house before the house would be put on the market. The Lord had me come across the information that had been sent out to everyone in larger UBM of where to send donations for David’s house and I was reminded of the original dream revelation shared below. After the first and only time we mentioned the revelation below of an offering for David’s house the donations of the saints had fallen off mostly because it was "out of sight, out of mind". We came to believe that maybe the Lord would provide for the rest of what was needed for the purchase of the house through the GCR. But Father showed me in another dream this morning that this other way was not the method that He chose to use for this but His original command below. Because of this, the Lord had been impressing me that we needed to bring this up before the saints again as a reminder that this is how He has ordained for the provision for the purchase of the house. But I was uncertain that I was hearing clearly from the Lord and didn’t want to get into works to bring to pass what we were having faith for. I believe that one of the reasons for this is because He desires to bless our listeners for their sacrificial gifts to bless David. David has sacrificed his life and the majority of all his resources, continually, over the lifetime of this UBM ministry that the Lord gave him in order to meet the needs of all the brethren. 1 Ch 29:1-9 And David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God. 2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. 3 Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, 4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses; 5 of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto Jehovah? 6 Then the princes of the fathers houses , and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly; 7 and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents. 8 And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. This original method is what God desires to use for the sake of His people. I Have Prepared With All My Might for the House of My God Eve Brast - 4/2/21 (David’s notes in red) I dreamed that David was merged with President Trump and was sitting in front of me and slightly to the right. (His head was larger than normal and it was Trump’s face that predominated his appearance even though they were merged together.) (We have been expecting that the David Man-child reformers will come to power parallel to Cyrus Trump conquering Babylon. Daniel was promoted over Babylon on the night that Cyrus conquered Babylon. They became parallel!) David was telling me all about the GCR and how it was going to solve so many financial issues for people and for the financial situation for his house as well. Then the voice of the Lord spoke from above and behind me saying something like, “It shall not be so with David’s house.” I can’t remember everything He said but I understood, in the dream, that the GCR was not going to happen in time for the deadline of the purchase of his house. (The first deadline was 4-1-21 when the GCR was touted to come but that day came and went and it didn't happen and now we know why but we cant tell anyone yet.) Then I woke up. I was pondering the dream this morning when Missy received a confirmation of this correction. The trust in the GCR for the provision was the ‘Ishmael'. The original plan and promise, 'the Isaac' was that the saints of God in UBM would provide for the purchase of David’s house according to the dream revelation in the original broadcast here: Provision for David’s House Eve Brast - 12/8/19 (David’s notes in red) (I am a little apprehensive because I have never asked anyone for money but I will share Eve’s revelations in obedience to the Lord’s Word.) Eve said, I had asked Father to give me a dream or a Word concerning how David would be able to purchase His house that he is currently in after our meeting on Thanksgiving. David shared a Word I had received from the Lord on 11/26/19 concerning Father’s provision for the purchase of his house which He had promised to him. The owner was going to sell the house but was offering David the first chance to buy it and has checked back with him several times. Then the dream and Word below is what The Lord gave me. Here is a portion of that Word on 11/26/19. I asked Father concerning some of David's questions… then I asked “What about David's house?” And Father said, (Speaking to David) “Do not be anxious or troubled concerning the house. I have desired it for My dwelling place. I will not allow it to be sold to another, though they may try. It will not succeed. I will provide for the purchase.” I asked for a confirmation of this word with a couple of quarters that I keep on my nightstand that rarely come up all heads and I got 2 heads for confirmation. Then I asked for a random word by faith and my finger was on Psalm 33:13,(9-22 for context): 9 For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. 10 Jehovah bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought; He maketh the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. 11 The counsel of Jehovah standeth fast for ever, (Notice the confirmation three times that what Father promised He would do.) The thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. 13 Jehovah looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men; 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh forth Upon all the inhabitants of the earth, 15 He that fashioneth the hearts of them all, That considereth all their works. 16 There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a vain thing for safety; Neither doth he deliver any by his great power. 18 Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his lovingkindness; 19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul hath waited for Jehovah: He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, According as we have hoped in thee. 11/30/19 I dreamed that I and my oldest (first-born) son Noah, who was 9 years old in the dream, were going on a mission field trip with local and larger UBM. (I believe that I and Noah represent the corporate body of the first-fruits. We are representing the whole of the corporate UBM body also.)(The first-born of the Bride has the 9 fruits of the Spirit. David as a type of the Man-child is God’s first-born Son in this text. Psa 89:27 I also will make him my first-born, The highest of the kings of the earth.) (I literally got this same word when I asked for a random word in real life for Noah 3 years ago.) We were all going to this huge multi-story white marble mansion that was not more than 3 stories. (Our Father's house). It was very bright outside as the sun shone down on us and upon the mansion as we were approaching it. (The three stories represent three levels of maturity) Isa. 60:1-5, 1 (Addressing the Bride, Father says,) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. (First God manifests the glory to the Bride and then He brings His people out of Babylonish captivity to come under the Bride as it was originally in the time of David.) 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be carried in the arms. 5 Then thou shalt see and be radiant, and thy heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee. (Jer 3:14-17 Return, O backsliding children, saith Jehovah; for I am a husband unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion. 15 And I will give you shepherds (the Man-child reformer body) according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. 16 And it shall come to pass, when ye are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith Jehovah, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Jehovah; neither shall it come to mind; neither shall they remember it; neither shall they miss it; neither shall it be made any more. 17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah (Notice Jerusalem is the Bride and now she is the throne of the Lord along with their King David, representing the Man-child, who was caught up to the throne in Rev.12. Rev 3:21 He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne. And then we see the nations of God’s people come to the Bride and Man-child to be under their rule as it was in David’s time.); and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of Jehovah, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.) (Notice the “Name" of the Lord is synonymous with the Bride and Hebrew word name means, "nature, character and authority”. This speaks of the Brides maturity.) When we got inside and my eyes were adjusted, I saw beautiful, polished marble floors throughout and a large grand staircase with cherrywood banisters curving up to the 2nd floor. There were elegant crystal chandeliers and many, many rooms. (John 14: 2-4, 2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go, ye know the way.) The rooms that I saw were furnished with antique cherrywood furniture and antique maroon Persian rugs of different designs. (This is a type of the house of God at the beginning which we should have never departed from to go into captivity in Babylon.) Isa. 46:9-13, 9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me; 10 declaring the end from the beginning (Notice that this glorious house of God which represents His people in the beginning will also be in the end.), and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure; 11 calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel (Cyrus, a type of Trump to conquer Babylon) from a far country; yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed, I will also do it. 12 Hearken unto me, ye stout-hearted, that are far from righteousness: 13 I bring near my righteousness, it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry; and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory. Jer. 6:16,Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: ... There were also many beautiful rooms with large libraries with shelves and shelves of books from floor to ceiling and large antique fireplaces with vigorous fires burning. (In God’s original house there is much knowledge available to His children but they have followed after Babylonian religion.). (Studying the Word of God will burn up the flesh.) There were many study desks made of cherrywood and beautiful antique upholstered tapestry couches and chairs for sitting and reading or studying. 2Ti. 2:15 KJV, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jos.1:8, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Ezr. 7:10, For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel. 1Th 4:11, and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, even as we charged you; To the right of us past the foyer was a large kitchen that looked similar to a kitchen in a high end restaurant it was all stainless steel and there were many round tables beyond that for people to eat at. (In Fathers house all hunger and thirst for truth is met. Jesus, who is the Word is also our bread as He said in John 6:35-51, 35 Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, that ye have seen me, and yet believe not. 37 All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.) David led us all up the grand staircase to the second floor. When we got to the top I realized that it was a children’s cancer hospital. (God’s children are living under the curse of death, which is like a cancer in our souls.) There were many patient rooms. But I didn’t see any nurses or doctors. We were the ones who were there to minister the Word and healing to the children and their families. (His house has the cure because His disciples have the “Bread of Life."). We all paired off into twos. Noah and I paired up and then we all went around ministering to the sick children and their families. (Noah and I are representing the whole of the corporate UBM body also.) Mar. 6:7-15, 7 And he calleth unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits; 8 and he charged them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse; 9 but to go shod with sandals: and said he , put not on two coats. 10 And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence. 11 And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them. 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. When we had visited and ministered to everyone, we followed David back down the stairs and gathered over near the large kitchen. There was a commotion in the kitchen amongst the kitchen staff and the chefs that prepared the food and served it to the sick children and their families, but I couldn’t make sense of it. I saw the CEO of the hospital, who was dressed in a suit and white dress shirt, come into the kitchen to hear the complaints of the chefs and staff. He was an older man with grey hair. (The Chief Executive Officer represents the Father who is over all His house.) David was quietly talking with the men in our group when I heard the CEO say, “Okay. No problem. I’ll take care of it.“ Then He called David over to the kitchen with a large beckoning motion of his right arm. David humbly and quietly slipped over to the CEO's right side, kind of looking down with his hands in his pockets as if uncomfortable with the attention being called to him. (Humility is a requirement in order to serve the Father and His kingdom and people. Pro. 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor. Pro. 15:33, The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom; And before honor goeth humility.) I then noticed that David was wearing the same suit as the CEO. (Representing Heavenly works of the Father) The CEO put his right arm around David’s shoulder and gave him a squeeze and smile of approval and told the distraught chefs that, “David will take care of it.“ (John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.) I went over closer so that I could hear what all the fuss was about. I heard the chefs telling David that they were out of loaves of bread to feed to the sick children. (The chefs represent ministers in Father’s house who prepare spiritual food for His children. In much of Father’s house they have no bread to make his children healthy and mature.) There was a large, deep, metal serving pan on one of the counters and I watched David place his hands on both sides of the pan. He bowed his head and closed his eyes and prayed and blessed it. Then suddenly it was filled to the top with many loaves of bread. (Jesus multiplied the fishes and the loaves and so does the Man-child body of our day) (2 Co. 9:10 And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness: Ecc. 11:1-2, 1 Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days. 2 Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. ) As David multiplied the loaves representing the Word, everyone let out a gasp of astonishment and there was a brief silence before the entire kitchen staff erupted into exclamations of wonderment and praises to God. (The chefs in much of God’s house do not have the bread or Word to feed God’s children to bring them into the image of Christ, but David is meeting their needs by multiplying the bread. Jesus also multiplied the wine. The bread and wine are the body and blood of Christ and we need both. Jesus said it was essential that eat this bread for eternal life. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth hath eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? (Jesus was the Word made flesh) 53 Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.) They were so happy that they had enough bread now to feed the children in the hospital. (We have fought Satan and his helpers to get the bread multiplied just as they have fought to take it down. The fullness of the bread or Word will cause the children to feel their hunger is being satisfied. This fullness is who Jesus is. It is the seed that manifests Him.) David tried to slip away quietly while everyone marveled at the miracle that had just taken place, but the CEO called David back over to his side and announced to everyone that he was presenting a reward to David for his faithful mission work at the children’s cancer hospital. (Isa. 33:15-17, 15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil: 16 He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. 17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar.) All of UBM and the kitchen staff of the hospital gathered around to watch David be presented with his reward. (Its a reward of time restored. It is also a retirement party for David’s old man.) The CEO brought out a small, polished, blonde wooden box that was lighted inside. It had a clear glass display on the front of it. Inside was an open faced golden pocket watch with a golden chain and a golden crucifixion spike attached to the other end of the chain. (In many companies its customary on retirement to give the retiree a gold watch. This one has a crucifixion to go with it. Jesus retired his old man WITH the crucifixion spike. The spike represents staying on the cross. The time of the old man's works is over at crucifixion. Rewarded for a time of crucifixion is, "I will restore unto you the years that... my great army which I sent among you.”) Joel 2: 23-27, 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first month . 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker-worm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, my great army which I sent among you. (These enemies are given to crucify us but all that the crucifiers stole God will multiply back.) 26 And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of Jehovah your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you; and my people shall never be put to shame. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Jehovah your God, and there is none else; and my people shall never be put to shame. We received this text twice recently. Isa. 22: 20-25, 20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim (meaning: "whom God will raise up” pointing to a resurrection. He is a type of the crucified Man-child who takes the place of the apostate leaders) the son of Hilkiah: 21 and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. 23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father's house. 24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the flagons. 25 In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that was fastened in a sure place give way; and it shall be hewn down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for Jehovah hath spoken it. (When Jesus was "cut off" He was taken from the cross and the nail had to "give way". Then resurrection catching up to the throne came as a type for Jesus in the Man-child David’s of our day.) The time piece hung at the back of the display box to the right as the chain dipped around over to the left where the spike hung attached. (The left is who used the spike on Jesus and the Man-child of our day but Judas, a factious leftist, also died at this time by his own hand.) David was smiling and looking down a lot because he felt uncomfortable being openly recognized for his ministry work and slipped the reward into his pocket. Mat. 6:1-4, 1 Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2 When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee. (I do feel uncomfortable about this but the Lord ordered that Eve present this to you and I am obeying.) We all proceeded out of the beautiful marble building, down the white steps, and onto the large stone paved area where there were outdoor tables and chairs. (Preparing for the coming marriage feast of the seven day tribulation.) David was then called to go with the CEO to discuss his next plans for David and UBM. (Concerning the crucifixion of David here, Angelica just had a dream that I died and was placed in a room and she received in the dream this represented a tomb but then she knew I was not there, meaning a resurrection happened.) I noticed that David left his journal and pen on one of the tables. So I went over and picked it up and began reading some of the prayers David had written to the Lord. It was like reading the Psalms. I read about sufferings and griefs and trials and the many prayers for his family and the sheep he cared for and then I read his prayer concerning his house. (This represents a spiritual memorial for David) In the dream I was praying for the Lord to please provide for David when a voice above and behind me said, ”Tell everyone in all of UBM to take up a collection for the purchase of David's house.” (Father told Eve to tell you this so I am just letting her say it in obedience. I have never taken up a collection for myself or had anyone else take up a collection for me so this feels quite awkward. However I am not doing it, the Lord through Eve is.) (I know that David would never do something like this in real life out of greed or personal ambition. He has preached against the filthy lucre of the apostate church leaders for years. And has never let his own personal needs be known or taken an offering or received UBM money. He has given to everyone. He will only share this out of obedience to the Father. A couple of months ago I learned that the owners of the house that the Lord promised to David, and which he is renting, wanted to sell it, but were giving him first choice to purchase it. (When the owner told me this I knew it was time to buy it so by faith I told them I would buy it. Here is a little background on this house. The man and wife who rented this house before me asked me if I would come look at it with them. So I did walk with them through the house as the realtor was showing it to them. I said privately to the Lord as I walked, “Lord I like this place. Could you get me something like this?” I didn't tell them that I did this but after they got the house they were informed by the Lord that I was to own the house and they told quite a few people this but I didn’t know it. I was renting a house a few miles away. When I first saw that previous house, the Lord said, "call them". I said Lord that house is for sale, not rent. (The Lord had told us to only rent until our own houses were provided.) He said again, "call them". So I called the realtor who said they only wanted to sell it. I said, "I dont care if you keep it for sale, it wont sell until I am supposed to leave.” I said this because I had already asked the Lord to let me only rent this house until I was to leave for the house He has chosen for me to own, which is the one I am in now. So they agreed to rent it to me. The owner thought he had the house sold seven times in a row. Each time I told him the Lord told me the house would not sell and each time he thought it was a sure thing. My wife wanted to go find another place but I told her that we didn't need to worry, the house would not sell. After about the third time the owner said to me, "Wow, you have a pretty good record of being right.” I said, “Its not me, its the Lord". He was a Methodist and really didn't know the Lord would talk to us. After that he would ask me every time and I would tell him the same thing until the 8th time when I felt differently in my spirit so I asked the Lord if it was my time to go to my house and reached in my pocket and pulled out 3 coins and they were all heads for YES. So I called across town to one of our studies and asked them to get a confirmation so 5 of them threw coins on the floor and they all came up heads. 8 heads in all for the 8th time. The house sold and the couple who were renting my future house had already invited me to come stay with them. When they decided to leave I took over the rent and am still here. Like they told everyone, "God said David was to have the house". :o) Its not a fancy house but its the only one on this mountain and its quiet woodsey with lots of wildlife, just like I like it. We have a prayer and Bible meeting here with a few of us 6 days a week and win a lot of battles for our country and the Church by Father’s grace. Since the owners were wanting to sell now, I was wondering if David might have to move again so I asked the Father to give me a word by faith at random concerning the house situation and my finger was on Psa. 68:16, Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? Yea, Jehovah will dwell in it for ever.) (In this case the house of David is on a mountain even as king David’s was.) Then I was reminded of another Psalm. Psa. 132:1-18, 1 Jehovah, remember for David All his affliction; 2 How he sware unto Jehovah, And vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob: 3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, Nor go up into my bed; 4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, Or slumber to mine eyelids; 5 Until I find out a place for Jehovah, A tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob. 6 Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood. 7 We will go into his tabernacles; We will worship at his footstool. 8 Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of thy strength. 9 Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness; And let thy saints shout for joy. 10 For thy servant David's sake Turn not away the face of thine anointed. 11 Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. 12 If thy children will keep my covenant And my testimony that I shall teach them, Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore. 13 For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation. 14 This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it. 15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. 16 Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; And her saints shall shout aloud for joy. 17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. 18 His enemies will I clothe with shame; But upon himself shall his crown flourish. (I received by faith at random, "Jehovah will build thee a house” in, 1Ch 17:9-10 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the first, 10 and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will subdue all thine enemies. Moreover I tell thee that Jehovah will build thee a house.) (The few of us who knew about this situation were praying for the financial provision needed.) So in the dream I called All of UBM together and announced the collection that the Lord had spoken concerning David’s house. (It is in obedience to this portion of the dream, that we are sharing this with larger UBM. Father is wanting to use us all in His purpose for this situation, that His will be fulfilled. It is purely out of obedience that we share this and not for any other reason.) And we all gave sacrificially as much as we could both small amounts of money and large. I woke up as I was looking at the large woven basket of donations that we had all taken up and we were all excited to present it to David when he returned from his meeting with the CEO. (I believe the woven basket represents our combined and interwoven efforts to bless David with the funds needed for the purchase of his house.) (This could represent spiritual resurrection and being caught up to the throne?) I asked for a text by faith at random for this dream and my finger was on “my steps “ in Psalms 17:5, a prayer of David, (1-15), 1 Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; Give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; Let thine eyes look upon equity. 3 Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 4 As for the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent. 5 My steps have held fast to thy paths, My feet have not slipped. 6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. 7 Show thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge in thee From those that rise up against them. 8 Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me under the shadow of thy wings, 9 From the wicked that oppress me, My deadly enemies, that compass me about. 10 They are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly. 11 They have now compassed us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth. 12 He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. 13 Arise, O Jehovah, Confront him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword; 14 From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes. 15 As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form. I asked for a word by faith at random for the part of the dream where Father spoke to me and said, “Tell all of UBM to take up a collection for the purchase of David’s house.” And my finger was on, “hast commanded” in Psa. 119:4, Thou hast commanded us thy precepts, That we should observe them diligently. I asked for a couple of words by faith at random for the gold watch with the spike and received, Eze. 44:18 (in context 15-18), 15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me; and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord Jehovah: 16 they shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge. 17 And it shall be that, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, while they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within. 18 They shall have linen tires upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with anything that causeth’sweat. (Their works will not be those of the flesh) The other was Rev. 2:24-28, my finger was on the phrase, “I cast upon you none other burden”,(This could well mean that this burden of sacrifice will be enough for the righteous.)24 But to you I say, to the rest that are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who know not the deep things of Satan, as they are wont to say; I cast upon you none other burden. 25 Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come. 26 And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations: 27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father: 28 and I will give him the morning star. I asked for a word concerning the chefs running out of bread to feed the children and then David having to multiply the bread for the children (We have been preparing to multiply the bread around the world and it is starting with two revivals that we know of. And the old order Babylonish leaders are falling.) and received by faith at random, Dan. 5:26, finger on “Mene," 24-29, 24 Then was the part of the hand sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed. 25 And this is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and brought it to an end; 27 TEKEL; thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 PERES; thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. 29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. (That night Cyrus (Trump) conquered Babylon.) I asked Father for a couple of random words concerning David’s “meeting" with the CEO to discuss future plans and received, Acts 9:11, with my finger on the phrase, “The street called Straight” 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus: for behold, he prayeth; ... he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel: 16 for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake. The other was Acts 5:25, finger on “standing”, And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people. (Like Joseph and Jesus, a type of the end time David Man-child’s, they came out of prison to minister in God’s anointing.) I pray everyone will be obedient to give what the Father puts upon your heart to contribute to this effort and His purposes that He has revealed in these revelations. Note From David Hi Saints, So you see that the Lord showed us prophetically and then confirmed it to us that we were to take up a collection for David’s House. This of course will be a temporary offering and will discontinued as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your gift for this house which is used for a prayer and Bible study meeting 6 days a week. We also host visitors and minister to locals here as often as we can. This is our ministry office. It is not a fancy house but very simple. None of the rent, utilities, internet, vehicles or legal insurance, or other costs have been born by the ministry but by me personally who receive no money from the ministry. Other ministries claim all of this cost belongs to the ministry, yet I have born this cost along with a few who support me. Now I will continue to bear the costs except there will be no rent. This has suited me well all these years and I would not have changed a thing if the Lord had not intervened with dreams and words and direction from Him concerning His support for this house. Thank you so much for your help. :o). Love from your servant in Christ, David You can send a check or money order written to David Eells, marked “For David’s House” here: UBM P.O. Monthly Gift Amount POTUS David Receives Two Houses Eve Brast - 1st week of Jan. 2020 (David’s notes in red) I dreamed that David (Representing the David Man-child body) and I (representing the Bride) were touring a house in a city. (David’s house) It was a three story house (Spiritually not physically) located on one of the main city streets. The local UBM brethren were also there touring with us. (This is the current UBM house Representing the larger UBM Bride body who are touring or passing through as sojourners, where the Bride is being matured.) The realtor lady was showing us the house. It was so clean and fully furnished in an elegant modern style. I remember that the couches were all white. (The resting place of the Bride is holy) I remember thinking and whispering to David, "This is the house I've always wanted.” (The Bride desires the holy house ruled by the David Man-child body as King David ruled over Jerusalem that John was told was the Bride in Revelation.) David took a white piece of paper and wrote, "$175,000" on it and handed it to the realtor. He asked her if the owners would take $175,000 for it and she was happy and said, "I'll ask them. I don't think it will be a problem." She acted like the sale was a done deal. (Amazingly, This is the price the Lord told us to offer the realtor lady for my house. This could be a physical aspect to this spiritual dream as a sign to us. This is very unusual.) David said, "Okay, Great." And then we all walked out of that house onto the sidewalk. We walked about a block up the city street to a large mansion. (Representing our ministry to the world) The sun shone on everything in the city and all the houses and buildings were made of white white brick or stone. Even the sidewalks were white. As we were walking the sun was shining on all of us. I looked to my right a little ahead of me and saw Merle walking with us. (Another relative coming in) He looked over at David and said something with a big smile on his face. He looked so free and David said something back to him. His wife, Missy, was walking behind me and also joined in their conversation. We were all happy and excited. When we entered the mansion there was a fairly large entry way and beyond that was a very large living room that opened to the left of the entry way. The sun shone on everything in the city and all the houses and buildings were made of white white brick or stone. Even the sidewalks were white. (Knowing the rest of the dream, this is our "white house" but represents our expanded ministry and administration and not just one building.) It was so large that it had high open ceilings . You could see the 2 support pillars and all the beams and rafters. All the lighting was like track lighting along the rafters and beams. (The temple of Solomon also had 2 pillars. Jachin and Boaz) (Jachin means "Yah establishes" and Boaz means “strength”. It is the Lord in us that has the strength to establish us.) To the right of the entry way was a large kitchen with a dining area at the far back corner. On the side of the kitchen closest to the entry way was a children's kitchen. Everything was small and their size. There were 2 little blonde (Meaning submitted to the Son/Sun) girls and a blonde boy (sisters and brother) practicing making meals in the children's kitchen. (Teaching the "little sister" how to prepare the spiritual food for others.) (This is what We have been told by the Lord we will do; Get the gospel out to the world in a huge way.) The carpet in this area was evergreen in color and there was a staircase from the children's kitchen area that led up to the second and third floors. (Evergreen is the color of eternal life) (The third floor is the highest level of maturity, representing spirit, soul, and body) We went up to the second floor where all the bedrooms were. There was a children's play area and I had brought a box of old vintage toys for the children to play with. So I unpacked the box and placed the toys in the play area. The children were so excited because they had never seen these toys before. (Representing revealing the ancient paths to the younger Christians and them desiring them.) Then we went up to the third floor where there was a huge bath area. (For cleansing of the body) It was like an upscale spa with walk-in showers and massage tables and chairs. And over to my right was a large tiled patio with sliding glass doors. Outside on this patio was a large, tall, yellow water slide. There was a woman out there supervising all the children riding on the slide. There were these clear, plastic dolphins that each child would sit on to ride down the slide. The lady would also hand the children white towels to dry themselves with. (We will be able to minister the water of the Word and the importance of sanctification to the elect children of God.) I looked up at the high raftered ceilings above the bath area and saw the most beautiful floral hangings draping down. They smelled heavenly and were the most beautiful flowers I'd ever seen. (A sacrifice of a sweet smell is our sanctification and cleansing ourselves to the Lord.) Then we all went back down to the living room area and stood next to one of the support pillars. David looked to be in his thirties. (Thirty is the age at which one can enter public ministry. David, Joseph, and Jesus were thirty and the Man-child will be anointed at thirty spiritually.) There were secret service details (Angels) and men in hard hats installing surveillance cameras and monitors throughout the house. (Psa 91:10-12 There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. 11 For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.) David was now the President. (The david’s will rule in the spiritual realm like P. Trump will in the natural but the spiritual makes it possible for the natural. Rev 5:10 and madest them to be unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon the earth. Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations. Heb 2:6-8 But one hath somewhere testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him? 7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; Thou crownedst him (Man) with glory and honor, And didst set him over the works of thy hands: 8 Thou didst put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he subjected all things unto him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. (Both Joseph and Daniel, types of the Man-child, were second only to the King on his throne representing God. The David Man-child body will rule in the earth, confirmed in other dreams - See: Our Limitless Authority in Christ and Death and Resurrection of the David’s) David said, something like, "That's not really necessary." But the secret service guys insisted. (The angels watch over our safety.). I said to David, "Well, You ARE the President of the United States." He said something about the price of the mansion costing, "$850,000,000”. (Possibly representing the overall ministry worth) And I said, "Well that's a drop in the bucket since you have billions of dollars.” (Billions will come in for the Kingdom work and ministry, providing for refugees, and getting the gospel to the world. In my mind in the dream I knew it was about 8 Billion.) (In 2007 Father gave me in a vision a billion dollars to take care of His children in refuge. More recently we asked for more and He said He would give 1.6 billion. So we asked for more to provide for His people and reach the world with the gospel since we are supporting hundreds of missionaries in dangerous lands with money and literature. I asked for “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” and we get this dream. Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.) David said, "Yeah. Well, I guess you're right.” Then I woke up. I asked Father for a word for this dream by faith at random and my finger was on, "the Jews gathered" in Est. 9:2, (in context 1-5) 1 Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have rule over them, (whereas it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them,)(As a direct result of Mordecai, the Man-child, and Esther, the Brides, intercession.) 2 the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them was fallen upon all the peoples. 3 And all the princes of the provinces, and the satraps, and the governors, and they that did the king's business, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai was fallen upon them. 4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went forth throughout all the provinces; for the man Mordecai waxed greater and greater. 5 And the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they would unto them that hated them. It will perhaps always be an uphill battle to convince some in our space to not rely on consumer logic to guide their fundraising practices. This was the gist of my conversation with David today as we discussed why nonprofits should parts ways with being a “merchant of perks”, selling illusions of influence, and pitching opportunities to restrict their giving. Instead, they should create opportunities for their donors to mature as generous individuals whose gifts are an expression of gratitude for what they have received in life. Our conversation was not about the $125 Giving Tuesday donor or the late-in-life individual giving seven-figure gifts; rather, we focused on the affluent, income-based, forty-five year old who has no interest in being treated like a consumer and simply wants to learn how to be more generous toward a cause they care about. As David accurately pointed out, this donor expects us to arrive with open-ended questions that we don’t already have an answer for and to focus on developing their inclination before we concern ourselves with their capacity. As always, we are grateful to our friends at CueBack for being our sponsor. If you’d like to watch today’s conversation on YouTube, click the link below. David took the internet by storm last night when he joined a Clubhouse session called “David French, Based or Cringe?” As David puts it in today’s pod, “There’s kind of a subculture where people really hate me!” Joined by a very special guest on today’s episode, David and Sarah chat about nominal damages, the constitutionality of H.R. 1’s effort to federalize elections, and the increasing number of state laws that are aiming to ban critical race theory from being taught in K-12 classrooms. Human love is shaky. It’s weak and wavering, soft and unreliable. As David discovered yesterday, the best of friends can quickly become the worst of enemies. Our best buddy can become the worst betrayer, as most High School students can testify. So much of the teen depression and anxiety epidemic is spread through the unfaithfulness and unreliability of friends. Shaky friendships produce shaky hearts. Is there a steady love that can give us steady hearts? David answers that question in Psalm 57.Instagraphics.Website.iTunes.Spotify.
Twitter’s Jack Dorsey and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg were in the hot seat again on Tuesday, answering questions from Senate Judiciary Committee members about the policing of misinformation and controversial speech on their platforms. The biggest takeaway from the hearing? Both political parties want to regulate Big Tech, but for very different reasons. As David argues, it’s not just that liberals want more censorship and conservatives want less of it. “It’s that liberals want Big Tech censorship in exactly the areas where conservatives want less censorship,” especially as it pertains to hate speech and disinformation. Is there any room for compromise in the war against big tech? Our podcast hosts break it down in layman’s terms. Also on today’s episode: an update on COVID-19’s third wave, Biden’s Cabinet picks, and Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the election.
