POPULARITY
The only behavior you control is your own. The world gives you plenty of reasons to be angry. Scripture gives you a different instruction—take the plank out of your own eye first. That is Matthew 7. And it is not a suggestion. This week on the show, host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow and guest Pastor Steve Dennis bring one of the most downloaded conversations of the year back to the airwaves. Anger, integrity, and what it actually looks like to be a Christian in a world that is working hard to provoke you into being anything but. Before you can be the man God is calling you to be—as a Christian, a husband, a father—you have to be honest about what is actually driving your thoughts, your words, and your reactions. Is it Scripture? Or is it the world? Make time for a conversation that will make you ask the hard questions about the man you see in the mirror. 82 years ago on June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to fight pure evil. They didn't negotiate with it. They didn't look the other way. They stood against it at the cost of everything. The battle between good and evil has not ended. It has just moved to different ground. That same fight is playing out today. Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett stepped away from a successful political career because she could no longer reconcile her Christian faith with her party's platform. She didn't come out swinging. She stood her ground. And it cost her. In this week’s show, host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow, wingman Christy Mendelow, and guest Jeff Egli use her story as a model—not a political one, but a Christian one. What does it actually look like to put your life in alignment with your faith? What does it look like to pull away from the mob, stand firm, and refuse to call evil good? You don't have to be a politician to face that question. You face it every day. Listen and find out what it looks like to stand firm when the fight between good and evil lands at your door. God's Word has something to say about everything happening in the world around you. The border. Transgender issues. The war in Iran. The legalization of marijuana. Every issue, every headline, every opinion. So why are so many Christians forming their perspectives without it? This week, host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow, wingman Christy Mendelow, and guest Jeff Egli take on politics—but not the way you might expect. This is not Republican versus Democrat. This is about what it actually looks like to bring your faith into the most contested conversations of our day. Real stories from the news, held up to the standard of Scripture, and examined for what they actually reveal about how Christians are called to think, act, and respond. Colorado warned California. California didn't listen. The results were predictable. The Bible saw it coming. Tune in and find out what Scripture says about the issues shaping our world. During the trophy presentation, I was joined in the pod by many Arsenal fans to share their emotions on what this means to them and what their hopes are for the future. It was great. Had many regulars and newbies too.
On Memorial Day weekend, we remember those who sacrificed everything—not just the years they lived, but the futures they never had. To honor that means standing for the freedom and the values they died to protect and one of the most important things every Christian must stand for is something most don't fully understand. In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow and his wingman Christy Mendelow bring you Part 2 of their conversation on antisemitism—and this one goes deeper. Jews and Christians are one family under one God. The original branches and the grafted-in branches of the same vine. A branch cannot bear fruit apart from the vine. And yet the house of God is under attack—from radical Islamic fundamentalism, from godless leftist ideology, and from the persistent ignorance that has divided Christians from their Jewish brothers and sisters for generations. Hosea 4:6 says God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Antisemitism is taught. That means it can be untaught. But only if Christians are willing to stand up, seek the truth, and stop allowing the enemy to divide what God has joined together. A house divided cannot stand. Whether you are continuing from Part 1, following the “Real Faith for the Real World” series, or wrestling with what the Bible actually says about Jews, Israel, and what Christians are called to believe and do—this conversation is one you cannot afford to miss. Most people treat taxes as a cost. Something to minimize, settle, and handle once the year is done. But what if that framing is the problem? What if you start treating your tax burden like a profit center, instead? By making that shift, taxes stop being about what you owe and start becoming a question of where that capital should actually go. In this episode of Money School Elite, I sit down with Mark Myers to unpack how that shift plays out in practice, and what it looks like to operate at the strategic layer of tax planning rather than just the compliance layer most people are familiar with. Mark works with high-income earners and business owners who are already doing everything right on paper, but haven't been exposed to the kinds of strategies that sit above traditional planning. In this conversation, we get into how solar can be used to replace a tax payment with an income-producing asset, how multiple layers of tax treatment can be stacked within a single strategy, and how the sale of a business can be structured to defer and control the tax event. About the Guest Mark is a Tax Savings Architect and the founder of TaxWise Partners. He brings over 20 years of successful business operation and high-level consulting experience to the table for the clients and financial professionals he serves. Mark employs the same discipline and tenacity in finding tax savings as he did serving his country as a former Marine Corps Sergeant in Bravo Company, 4th Marine Division. Semper Fi! Can a Christian be antisemitic? It sounds like a simple question. The answer will require you to look in the mirror. Antisemitism is one of the most misunderstood and deliberately distorted topics in the world today—and host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow and his wingman Christy Mendelow confront it head on in this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow." Hatred of Jews is on the rise globally. Synagogues are being vandalized. Jews are being attacked on the streets of London. In the United States, plots to drive vehicles into synagogues are being uncovered. And behind much of what you see playing out on Capitol Hill and college campuses, antisemitism is at the root. Colonel Mendelow, himself a Jewish believer in Christ, anchors this conversation in Scripture. Jews are God's chosen people. Salvation comes from the Jews. Those who bless them will be blessed and those who curse them will be cursed. Genesis 12:3 has not been replaced. God does not break His promises. So what is behind this hatred? What is replacement theology and why does it matter to you as a Christian? And if you are honest with yourself—are there any wrong thoughts, wrong feelings, or wrong associations you need to correct? The family of God is under attack. We cannot afford to be divided or indifferent. Tune in now and find out what the Bible actually says about the Jewish people—and what it means for how you think, feel, and act. You have been told that faith has no place in politics. That the church and the state must be kept separate. That a Christian should stay in his lane. But what if that idea—the one you have accepted as fact—was never true to begin with? In this week's episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow and his wingman Christy Mendelow tackle one of the most consequential lies shaping this nation. The phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in any founding document. It was lifted from a single letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802, taken out of context in a 1947 Supreme Court opinion that had no legal precedent, and has been cited in over 4,000 cases since—while the First Amendment itself has been cited in fewer than 3,000. That is not history. That is misinformation. And our children have been paying the price ever since. Since prayer was removed from schools in 1962 and the Bible in 1963, divorce rates climbed, SAT scores dropped, and a generation was handed the world without the foundation to navigate it. George Washington said it plainly in his 1796 farewell address—national morality cannot prevail without religious principles. He was right then. The evidence is all around us now. So the question is not whether your faith belongs in the public square. The question is how much longer you will accept the lie that it doesn't. Listen now and get the history behind one of the most misunderstood ideas in this nation—and find out what it means to bring your faith into every area of your life. Saying yes to God is easy when the path is clear. But what about when it isn't? In this week's episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow and his wingman Christy Mendelow bring a front-row account of what happens when someone says yes to God without knowing where it will lead. Bunni Pounds had a vision to have the Bible read over the American people. She didn't know where the money would come from, how the logistics would work, or if it would happen at all. She said yes anyway. Fourteen months later, 475 readers and 122 ministries came together in Washington, DC. Colonel Mendelow was among them. Even the President of the United States read. For an entire week, the Bible was read aloud over this nation. And God, who promises to multiply what we offer Him, will do with that what only He can do. We don't begin to know what those yeses will produce. That is what a yes to God looks like when you get out of the way and trust Him with the outcome. So where is God asking you to say yes right now? Not to everything—but to the thing He is putting in front of you. Are you moving toward it, or are you waiting until it makes more sense? The Bible says do it immediately. Not when you are ready. Now. Tune in and find out what saying yes to God could mean for your life. Hear the show on CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. You see it every day. The news, the commentary, the reactions, the words people throw out without thinking. In this week's episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow is joined by his wingman Christy Mendelow and guest Jeff Egli. They look at a real-world situation—the release of Dennis Coyle after being detained in Afghanistan—and what followed in the comments on social media. What people chose to say. How quickly it turned. How easily words were used to tear down a man most don't even know. It is a clear example of what we're surrounded by—and how quickly things can go in the wrong direction. Colonel Mendelow, Christy, and Jeff examine what unfolded—and the damage it does—through the biblical lens of God's Word. What that examination brings into focus is something every man deals with—the weight of his own words. You can't fight fire with fire. More words don't fix things. Scripture is clear: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and measured in how you respond. Every Christian man needs to hear this conversation. When you live out your faith according to the Truth of God’s Word, you may find yourself in moments of conflict, because your beliefs will not always align with what others believe, accept, or promote. When those moments arise, how do you respond? Do you stay anchored in the Truth, or do you find yourself reacting in the moment? Are you speaking in a way that reflects Christ, or getting drawn into something that doesn’t? In Part 2 of the two-part series on understanding and managing conflict as a Christian warrior, the focus turns to the responsibility that comes with it. Understanding the context of conflict matters and so does how you choose to engage it. This conversation walks through what that looks like in real life—knowing the Word, responding instead of reacting, and recognizing when to engage and when to step away. It also brings it back to how you see people, not as the opposition, but as those who may be lost and in need of the Truth. Conflict, handled well, becomes an opportunity to reflect Christ in a way that words alone cannot. Listen now and come away with a clearer understanding of the responsibility you carry in conflict and how to respond with conviction, discipline, and a steady commitment to the Truth. If you choose to stand firm in your faith, you will come into conflict. Not because you are looking for it, but because living according to the Truth will put you at odds with a world that rejects it. So, what do you do when that happens? Do you step into it, or do you step back? For decades, Christians were the clear majority in this country. Today, that number has dropped significantly and it raises an honest question—how did that happen? Did something take that ground, or did we slowly give it by choosing not to act when it mattered? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," the focus turns to something most people would rather avoid—conflict. Because when you live out your faith according to the Truth, you will find yourself facing opposition, tension, and moments where you have to decide whether you will stand firm or stay silent. This show begins a two-part series on understanding the context of that conflict—why it’s happening and what it requires of you. You don’t have to go looking for conflict. But if you are serious about living out your faith, you won’t be able to avoid it. The question is whether you are prepared to handle it in a way that reflects Christ—with clarity, conviction, and wisdom. Tune in to gain a clear understanding of why conflict is part of your walk and how to approach it in a way that honors God. You can listen to a series like this and agree with it, but at some point, it comes down to what you’re actually going to do with it. Because it isn’t about information. It’s about how you live. You can see what’s happening around you. Things aren’t steady, people are searching, and a lot of what’s being offered won’t hold up when it matters. So, what’s the answer? Is it really about politics and systems, or is it what’s going on in the human heart? And if that’s true—then where do you stand? Because being a Christian warrior isn’t an idea—it’s how you live when it counts. It’s choosing to stand firm, to stay grounded in the Truth, and to step forward when it would be easier to stay back. When that moment comes, will you be ready? This episode brings “The Christian Warrior Series” together—what a Christian warrior is, why it matters, and what it looks like to actually live it out. You’re making decisions every day. Some small. Some that carry real weight. And what you rely on to make those decisions is shaping your life—whether you realize it or not. In “What Is a Christian Warrior? – Part 3,” host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow take this series to where it matters most—wisdom. Because defining what a Christian warrior is, is one thing.Trying to live as a Christian warrior is another. And when it’s time to decide—when it actually counts—many men don’t stop to consider what’s guiding them. This episode gets into that. Not theory. Not surface-level answers. Clear, practical insight on how decisions are made—and why that matters for you, your family, and the life you’re building. Semper Fi. Since 1883, it's been the official motto of the United States Marine Corps. It means “always faithful.” As far as the Marines are concerned, there is no such thing as a former Marine. The ethos of Semper Fi is expected to be demonstrated in every aspect of their personal and professional lives. Once a Marine, always a Marine. And pity the non-Marine who dares to sport a Semper Fi tattoo! Some tattoo artists even refuse to ink a Marine tattoo unless the customer can produce his record of service. “Always faithful” is a noble aspiration. But it is impossible for any human being to always be faithful in every single area of his or her life. For example, it may surprise you that divorce rates among Marines are among the highest of any branches of the military. We've all failed to keep a vow, pledge, or commitment. Last week, we asked the question: What is a Christian warrior? We challenged the picture shaped by culture and began to look at what Scripture actually shows—a man under authority, living by a higher standard. Now we take it further. If that’s true…what does it actually require of you? Is obedience something you’ve settled—or something you negotiate? What does real commitment look like in your life right now?Are you preparing—or just reacting?Where is your level of zeal? In Part 2 of “The Christian Warrior Series,” the host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow move from definition to application: A Christian warrior is defined by how he lives. Obedience.Commitment.Preparation.Zeal. And the standard is not culture—it’s Christ. So, here’s the question that matters: What does your life actually reflect? Tune in to “Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow” now and gain clarity on what it actually means to live this out in your daily life. What comes to mind when you hear the word warrior? A man with a weapon?A fighter driven by anger?Someone who dominates others? Or something entirely different? What if a warrior is actually defined by discipline, humility, obedience, and strength under control? What if the greatest warrior who ever lived did not conquer with weapons—but with the Truth? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow begin a new series examining a critical question: What does it actually mean to be a Christian warrior? Many people carry a picture shaped by movies, culture, or personal opinion. But when that picture is wrong, it affects how we see Jesus—and how we understand the life He calls us to live. In the show, Richard and Christy take a serious look at the difference between the secular idea of a warrior and the biblical reality. A true warrior is not driven by ego.He does not answer only to himself. And he does not act according to emotion or impulse. A warrior lives under authority. He holds himself to a higher code.He serves something greater than his own comfort or ambition. These qualities may appear in earthly roles of duty and service, but they find their fullest meaning in the life of a man who follows Christ. Jesus demonstrated strength that was calm, deliberate, and unwavering in the Truth. He knew who He was, who sent Him, and the mission He came to fulfill. And for those who follow Him, that clarity changes how we live, lead, and stand in a confused world. Listen now at CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms and examine what a Christian warrior truly is—and why that clarity matters now more than ever. What happens when a skinny, out-of-shape, closeted gay kid from New Orleans hears “summer” and “camp” and ends up enlisting in the Marine Corps—right when being gay was banned in the military? In 1979, Greg Cope White followed his straight best friend to Parris Island boot camp, cheated the physical to get in, and lied on his papers to serve. What followed was a wild, raw, hilarious, and heartfelt transformation to Devil Dog Marine.Greg Cope White joins The Devil Doc Talk Show to share the real story behind his bestselling memoir The Pink Marine—a coming-of-age tale of grit, brotherhood, identity, and survival in the most macho environment imaginable. We dive into the brutal realities of recruit training, the fear of being found out, the unbreakable bonds forged under fire, and how those experiences shaped his life as a veteran, writer, and producer. Now adapted into the Netflix series Boots (with Greg as writer and executive producer), this conversation is equal parts funny, moving, and unfiltered. Whether you're a Marine, a vet, an ally, or just love a damn good underdog story, you won't want to miss Greg's take on courage coming in every color—even pink.Semper Fi, grab your coffee (or whatever fuels your watch), and hit play. Picture a crowded high school lunchroom. Noise. Pressure. Messaging from every direction.Voices telling young men what matters. What’s right. What’s normal. You would pray for clarity over that young man.You would ask God to protect his thinking. But here’s an important question: Are you any less surrounded? If every generation insists it’s smarter than the last —why does the thinking of men keep producing confusion? If experts can’t decide whether eggs are good or bad —why would you entrust your family to cultural certainty? If philosophies shift every decade — what is actually anchoring you? In Part Two of this series, Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow move from exposing unstable thinking to confronting its consequences. They examine stoicism, cultural trends, modern movements, and confident experts — and then hold them up against Scripture. Not to argue. To test. Because every man is building his life on something. The question is whether it will still stand ten years from now. What are your children catching from you?Are you filtering the world through the Bible — or the Bible through the world? If you want to live anchored instead of reactive…If you want to lead with conviction instead of impulse…If you want clarity that doesn’t shift with culture… The world is loud. Don’t let it shape you without examination. Listen now at CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. Most men believe they think clearly. But what if much of our thinking is simply inherited, emotional, or shaped by whatever voice is loudest in the moment? You don’t have to wait for a crisis to see what governs you. Look at your daily decisions. What defines “right” in your home? What defines “fair” at work? What defines “good” in your conversations? This week on "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow walk through a real decision that forced a choice: follow instinct — or follow Scripture. You’ll hear how to slow your thinking down. How to separate reaction from conviction. How to orient yourself before you act. In this episode of the Modern Day Sniper Podcast, Caylen Wojcik sits down with Romeo Santiago for a grounded and meaningful conversation centered on service, sacrifice, and taking responsibility for those we served alongside. The discussion covers Romeo's military background, lessons learned during deployment in Ramadi, and the long-term challenges veterans face after combat. A major focus of the episode is the Keep the Promise Challenge, an upcoming endurance effort where Romeo will run 34 miles a day for five consecutive days to honor fallen comrades and raise awareness and support for veterans through organizations like Semper Fi. The conversation highlights the importance of remembrance, accountability, and building better support systems for veterans long after the mission ends.
As America approaches its 250th birthday, something significant is happening in Washington, D.C. For 84 continuous hours, the entire Bible will be read aloud at the Museum of the Bible — from Genesis to Revelation. Bunni Pounds, visionary behind America Reads the Bible and Founder of Christians Engaged, joins Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and Christy Mendelow on "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow" in this episode for a focused conversation about why this moment matters — and what it reveals about our nation. If Scripture truly equips men for every good work, why has it drifted to the margins of so many lives? If joy, righteousness, peace, and purpose are rooted in God’s Word, what happens when it is no longer central? This conversation goes beyond the event itself. It addresses alignment — personally and nationally. Are you reading the Word daily? Is it shaping how you think, lead, and decide? If change is needed in this country, does it begin in institutions — or in men who return to Scripture? Big change doesn’t start big. It starts small. In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman, Christy Mendelow, close out a three-part conversation on change by examining where real transformation actually begins—and why it’s so often overlooked. Are you waiting for motivation before you act?Are you ignoring the small habits that shape your character? Are you drifting a little at a time without realizing where it’s taking you? Thirty pounds doesn’t show up overnight.Strong marriages don’t grow by accident.Weak habits don’t form in a day. Scripture is clear: be faithful in little, and you’ll be trusted with much. So what are you doing with the little things? Are you showing up?Are you getting off the X?Are you committing to 15 minutes in the Word at 6 a.m. even when you don’t feel like it? Change doesn’t happen by backing into it. It happens by deciding to move—one step at a time. If you’re serious about living out real faith in the real world, this finale matters. Then act on what you hear. Don’t wait. Show up. Listen now at CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. Most men don’t reject Heaven outright. They just live as if the world is the priority. In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," retired Marine Colonel Richard J. Mendelow is joined by his wingman, Christy Mendelow, to examine how divided focus quietly redirects a man’s life. Scripture is clear: divided allegiance always produces divided outcomes—and something inevitably takes first place. The way you think determines the way you live—and divided loyalties always cost you. This is not about talk. It’s about direction. And direction requires change—because without intentional course correction, the path you’re already on is the one that determines where you end up. This conversation challenges Christian men to recognize where worldly thinking has become the default—and to make deliberate, Christ-centered shifts that realign daily decisions with eternal Truth. Strong men don’t wait for the moment to decide who they will be. They decide ahead of time. In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret)—a retired Marine and airline pilot—and his wingman Christy Mendelow invite Christian men into a higher standard of spiritual readiness. In aviation and the Marines, immediate action drills are not optional. They are trained, rehearsed, and internalized long before they are ever needed. The purpose is simple: when the moment comes, you respond with clarity and discipline—not impulse. Richard and Christy draw a direct line between that kind of preparation and the Christian life. Scripture calls believers to self-control, wisdom, and obedience. That kind of faith is built intentionally—by knowing God’s Word, identifying where you are most vulnerable, and establishing clear, Christ-centered responses ahead of time. This conversation challenges men to live ready—to develop spiritual “immediate action drills” rooted in Scripture so their faith is steady, consistent, and lived out with conviction in the real world. On today’s Like It Matters Radio, Mr. Black takes on one of the most misunderstood leadership traits: flexibility. Using the Marines’ battle cry “Semper Fi”—Always Faithful—Mr. Black introduces a lesser-known but equally critical leadership principle: Semper Gumby—Always Flexible. Great leaders know when to adapt, when to pause, and when to pivot… but they also know when not to move an inch. Drawing from Dr. Viktor Frankl’s powerful insight—“Between the stimulus and the response there is a space. In that space is our power and our freedom”—Mr. Black challenges listeners to examine how they respond under pressure and what that reveals about their leadership. This episode explores the core existential questions every leader must answer: Who am I? Whose am I? Why am I here? What will I never compromise? Through the lens of Social Learning Theory, Mr. Black reminds us that leaders are always being watched. People don’t just hear what we say—they model what we do. That makes understanding influence, example, and integrity non-negotiable. Mr. Black is joined by Kelsey Pritchard of the Susan B. Anthony Foundation for a timely and direct conversation about one of those leadership “lines in the sand”: the Hyde Amendment—where flexibility ends and conviction must stand firm. This is an Hour of Power for leaders who want both wisdom and backbone—who know when to bend and when to stand. Because who you are matters. And it’s time to LIVE like it matters. Most men don’t resist change because it’s unclear. They resist it because it requires trust—trust in Someone greater than themselves, not their own strength, experience, or control. In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman, Christy Mendelow, continue the “Embracing Change” series with a direct challenge: stop trying to control your walk with Christ and start trusting God to lead it. Scripture makes this clear: fear does not come from God, control is not strength, and real growth requires surrender. And change—when placed in Christ’s hands—is not something to resist. It is often the very means God uses to lead you forward into the abundant life Jesus promises. What are you holding onto that God is asking you to release? What would change if you trusted His promises instead of your own plans? What kind of man would you become if Jesus truly led every decision? History shows us that moments of disruption demand leadership.Pearl Harbor shattered America’s status quo—and forced action.Apathy in Britain led to hesitation, delay, and devastating loss. So, what happens when change confronts you? With this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and Christy Mendelow open a new series by examining forcing functions—those moments that compel response in military leadership, personal responsibility, and spiritual growth. Do fear and limiting beliefs keep you stuck?Do you recognize when God is using pressure to move you forward? What does it look like to take small, disciplined steps instead of resisting change? Anger feels justified everywhere right now—but is it actually righteous? When frustration builds, who do you blame?Culture? Politics? Other people?Or do you pause long enough to ask what Scripture says about your response? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow", Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) is joined by Ministry Pastor Steve Dennis to confront a hard question Christian men can’t avoid:Are you reacting to the world—or living under God’s direction? What happens when judgment comes easier than accountability? When emotion replaces self-control?When anger feels justified but obedience feels optional? Scripture doesn’t excuse reaction—it calls for discipline.Faith isn’t proven by what frustrates you, but by how you respond when pressure is on. A biblical worldview doesn’t follow culture—it corrects it. Listen now at CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. Then put it to work. A new year doesn’t change anything by itself. You do. So, here’s the question: Are you starting the year ahead with clarity—or just hoping things improve? What is God actually calling you to steward right now?Your time? Your discipline? Your priorities? Your decisions? And are you treating those things with intention—or leaving them to chance? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow close December’s series by getting practical about real faith for the real world. Not resolutions. Not slogans.A plan grounded in Scripture—and the responsibility to act on it. If God has already given you what you need, what are you waiting for?If faith requires obedience, where have you been delaying? And if drifting is a choice, what would it look like to choose differently? You can call yourself a Christian and still live like the world is in charge. So what changes that? If you believe in Jesus, what does that belief require of you today? When you say you’re seeking God, are you doing it with all your heart—or only when life slows down? Are you leading your life with intention, or reacting to whatever the day throws at you?If your habits are forming your future, what future are you building right now? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow bring the December series to a decision point: intention is the bridge between what you believe and how you live. God doesn’t call us to drift. He calls us to seek, ask, and knock—on purpose. So, here’s the question: What will you choose for 2026?And will your choices finally match what you say you believe? We began December by asking a necessary question: What’s shaping what you believe? Then we pressed deeper: What do you really believe and to whom do you belong? This week, that line of thinking brings belief into focus. In this show “Believing in Jesus,” host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and Christy Mendelow move beyond reflection and into responsibility. If you say you believe in Jesus, what does that actually mean? What follows from that belief? And what must change if it’s real? Believing in Jesus is not a vague sentiment, a seasonal tradition, or a personal interpretation. It carries consequences. It demands consistency. And it requires honesty about whether our beliefs are shaped by Scripture or by convenience, culture, and comfort. Set against the backdrop of Christmas, this episode calls for clarity as we look toward a new year. If you believe in Jesus, then certain things must follow. If they don’t, the question isn’t about Christmas, it’s about belief. Join us to take time to examine not just what you say you believe, but what your life reveals about it. Do you actually believe the story you’re celebrating?December brings lights, music, and tradition—but it also brings the most important question a Christian man can answer: What do you believe? Not what you were taught growing up.Not what culture assumes. Not what feels familiar this time of year. What do you believe about God, the Truth, and the meaning of Christ’s birth in your life today? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow talk honestly about what you believe and how it shapes your life. As they talk about belief, they also explore another question: to whom do you belong? And December creates a natural moment to evaluate what you believe, because the season provides a rare opening to think about Christ in a world that often forgets Him. If you want clarity about what you believe and who you belong to, listen now. Tune in here: CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. Most men don’t realize how much of their life is shaped by the people around them. Not by Scripture. Not by conviction. But by pressure, expectations, and the steady pull to fit in.So let me ask you:Who is calling the shots in your life when you’re not thinking about it?Whose approval affects the way you speak, act, or stay silent? And how much of your faith is something you live—versus something you set aside when it feels inconvenient? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," host Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow expose the outside influences that quietly redirect men every day. They talk about how subtle pressure erodes conviction, why so many Christians adjust their faith depending on the setting, and what it looks like to finally stand firm with clarity and purpose. Before you can answer what you believe, you have to understand what’s been shaping you.If you're ready for a direct, honest conversation, this one matters. Thanksgiving may be over, but the call to give thanks is not.If gratitude only lasts for a holiday, what good is it in the world we face every day? In this episode of "Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow," Colonel Richard J. Mendelow (Ret) and his wingman Christy Mendelow ask a direct question:If God calls us to give thanks in all things and to all people, what happens when that becomes the way you live—not something reserved for one day on the calendar? Are you the kind of man who pays attention to the people God puts in front of you?Do you see them?Do you acknowledge them?Do you thank them?Or does gratitude disappear the moment the holiday is over? They talk about the strength that grows when you notice people, connect with them, and choose gratitude in the real world—in conversations, in conflict, in pressure, and in the everyday moments most men overlook. If you want to lead well, influence well, and stay anchored in Christ, start with a simple truth: Giving thanks—in all things and to all people—doesn’t end with Thanksgiving. It continues as a daily way of life. Listen now at CourageousChristianity.today, on KKHT.com, iHeart Radio, or on select podcast platforms. Today's guest is Billy Birdzell, founder of Horatius Group, an independent investment bank focused on creating exceptional outcomes for founder-led and family-owned businesses, and Horatius Impact, a non-profit dedicated to training and equipping scouts to defend endangered species like rhino and lion from poachers in Africa. Billy began his career as an infantry and special operations officer in the United States Marine Corps. On September 11, 2001, he was in New York City — an event that would forever shape his path. Soon after, he deployed to Iraq, meeting his platoon in combat and leading Marines through the fight to Baghdad. In this conversation, Billy and Jack discuss what it means to lead in the chaos of war, the relentless push to “just keep moving forward,” and the weapons and gear that defined those early battles. They revisit the Battle of Najaf in August 2004 and the historic January 2005 elections in Iraq, reflecting on the cost and meaning of those moments. Billy shares his journey from conventional infantry operations to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), his experiences training for special operations, attending French language school, and deploying to Africa. The two also look back on their long friendship and Jack's transition from the Teams to becoming an author, before diving into Billy's post-military mission — building Horatius Group and Horatius Impact, and his ongoing work in Africa protecting wildlife and empowering local defenders on the frontlines of conservation.FOLLOW BILLYLinkedIn: @BillyBirdzellWebsite: https://www.horatiusgroup.com FOLLOW JACKInstagram: @JackCarrUSA X: @JackCarrUSAFacebook: @JackCarr YouTube: @JackCarrUSASPONSORSCRY HAVOC – A Tom Reece Thriller Bravo Company Manufacturing - https://bravocompanyusa.com/ and on Instagram @BravoCompanyUSATHE SIGs of Jack Carr:Visit https://www.sigsauer.com/ and on Instagram @sigsauerinc Jack Carr Gear: Explore the gear here https://jackcarr.co/gear
The toughest battles don't always happen overseas. Sometimes they hit when you're back home, trying to figure out how to live with injuries, stress, or changes you never saw coming. Karen Hetherington knows this firsthand. She's part of the team at Semper Fi & America's Fund, and she has spent years walking alongside service members and their families during some of their most challenging moments. In this conversation, Karen shares how The Fund got its start and how it's grown into a lifeline for thousands of veterans. We talk about the little things that make a big difference, like covering bills while a family sits through long hospital stays, and the big things, like connecting someone with life-changing medical treatment or helping them find a new purpose after leaving the military. You'll hear about fast action that saved a Marine in crisis, the cutting-edge care that helped an amputee get back on his feet, and why listening closely matters more than any program on paper. The Fund restores independence, eases the weight on families, and proves that no veteran has to figure it out alone. 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, 2025 Luke 14:25-33 Great crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and addressed them, “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, ‘This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.' Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops? But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms. In the same way, anyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.”
