In this episode of Hollywood Live, Tanya Hart discusses the growing political momentum as superstar Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez publicly throw their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Bad Bunny, also known as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, took to social media to back Harris after a comedian at Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden rally made offensive remarks about Latinos and called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” The comment sparked outrage across communities, including among some Hispanic Republicans. With Bad Bunny's vast influence, his endorsement could significantly boost Harris' campaign among Latino voters. Tanya also highlights the sixth annual Micheaux Film Festival in Culver City, which is generating buzz with incredible projects. A standout screening was One of Them Days, an Issa Rae production starring Keke Palmer and SZA, with an all-star cast including LaRoyce Hawkins, Janelle James, Maude Apatow, and Katt Williams. The film hits theaters in January, and Tanya urges listeners to keep it on their must-watch list. In this episode, I'm joined by Jenna Perry, celebrity hair colorist and founder of the Jenna Perry Hair Studio, in Manhattan's SoHo.With a pervasive vision and devoted, rapid-growing following, Jenna Perry is cementing her status as one of the most influential and sought-after hair colorists in the world. A consummate authority on effortless, natural-looking hair color, Jenna's loyal client list includes Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Jennifer Fisher, Maude Apatow, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Elise Taylor, among other high-profile members of the fashion-girl set. It's no surprise that her easy yet inimitable aesthetic inspired the term “Hot Girl Hair,” in honor of Jenna's seductively unbothered way with balayage, the method that put her on the map.Born in Newport, Rhode Island, Jenna moved to New York City immediately after graduating high school to pursue a career in the beauty industry. She would spend the next eight years mastering every aspect of hair styling and color, until she discovered the art of hair painting, better known as balayage, while working at Ion Studio in Soho. It was there she realized where she wanted to focus her devotion and hasn't looked back. Now, seven years later, Jenna is heralding a shift in the way we think about hair color. Her philosophy: Hair is our most important accessory, and it has to match your lifestyle; if you have a high-maintenance schedule, she's going to give you low-maintenance hair.“Trust your gut. Take care of yourself. Make sure that you have at least an hour to disconnect. If you can do that, you can show up as a better person for your business.“ - Jenna PerryTopics Covered:How she began her career in hair and opened her own salonNavigating the challenges of running a business Tools and practices for remaining mentally resilientWorking with friends and prioritizing communicationWhat running a business has taught her about herselfPieces of advice for starting a businessGuest Info:Jenna's InstagramJenna's WebsiteGet in Touch:Benshen.co WebsiteBenshen MembershipBenshen.co InstagramRate, review, and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, or on your favorite podcast platform.

Dinner for Shoes is a podcast hosted by Sarah Wasilak, a fashion and food enthusiast with her mouth full. With appearances by her cats, Trish and Kit, and agendas that almost always go to shit, we aim to dive into a discussion about fashion and style and break some bread in each episode. In episode nine, Turkey Truths + Thanksgiving Outfits, Sarah happily doles out advice for what to wear on Thanksgiving, but also acknowledges the fact that it's simply not her favorite holiday. Because of the disappointing history behind Thanksgiving, as well as the traditional dishes that we eat (which Sarah feels are foods in their worst form), it is simply not up to par with the other Hallmark holidays — at least in the Dinner for Shoes book. However, she makes light of the situation by putting her own spin on a turkey takeout order, styling a fitting look inspired by Halle Bailey, and sharing some fashion content from Thanksgivings past. Dinner for Shoes podcast episodes are released weekly on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple. You can follow along for updates, teasers, and more on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. If there are any fashion topics you've been pondering or good eats you think Sarah should try, don't hesitate to send a DM or an email. Dinner for Shoes is an original by The Kai Productions. Dylan and Connor are once again joined by Tony Award winner Matt Doyle (Company, Sinatra: The Musical). The twins are turning 30 TODAY and Matt Doyle is BACK to help celebrate their golden birthday with family. The 2023 Met Gala red carpet was back again last Sunday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year, the annual affair celebrated the exhibition “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Now, before y'all decide that the Met Gala may not be your cup of tea, listen long enough to indulge as Holly and our LADY ABOUT TOWN, Nolan, give us their rundown of the best and worst dressed candidates, and of course, some hilarious (and possibly inappropriate) commentary! This gala honored the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld—the late designer who helmed fashion houses such as Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, and his own eponymous line—and raised funds for The Met's Costume Institute. Just as important as the exhibition, of course, is the star-studded red-carpet spectacle that took place as guests made their way up the famous Met steps. After all, the Met Gala—often dubbed the “Super Bowl of fashion”—has created some of the most memorable (and viral) celebrity red carpet looks from the past decade. OVERALL THOUGHTS: This year's theme lent itself to all things Karl Lagerfeld, which in most cases focused on his years as the Creative Director at Chanel. Translation: we saw a lot of black-and-white dressing, as well as Chanel's trademark tweed, quilting, pearls...lots of pearls, golden chains, and fabric Camellia flowers. By the way, the craziest part of the night was the 3, count them, THREE people who dressed as Lagerfeld's beloved cat, Choupette. BEST DRESSED Not that your favorite personal stylists always agree, here were the top outfits: Dua Lupa (in vintage FW92 Chanel wedding couture, and a Tiffany diamond the size of the Moon) Giselle in vintage Chanel SS07 wedding couture Maude Apatow in Chloé Vanessa Hudgens in Michael Kors Florence Pugh in Valentino (but not the head-dress...um, no.) Kim Kardashian in custom Schiaparelli (in 50,000 freshwater pearls-I wonder what that's like?) Kylie Jenner in Jean Paul Guiltier Paris Hilton in Marc Jacobs Kerry Washington in Michael Kors Jenne Ortega in custom Thom Browne Jessica Chastain in Gucci Halle Bailey in Gucci Ashley Graham by designer Harris Reed (YYYAASSSS) Viola Davis custom hot pink Valentino Jennifer Lopez in custom Ralph Lauren Sidney Sweeney in custom Miu Miu Anne Hathaway in white tweed Atelier Versace gown Amanda Seyfried in Oscar De La Renta gorgeous dress, but dressed as a Taylor Swift wanna be, so, Nolan said MEH.) Lea Michele in Michael Kors Anok Yai in Prabal Gurung Bad Bunny in Jacquemus (best Male according to Nolan) Rihanna in custom Valentino Lily Collins in Vera Wang Olivia WIld in custom Chloe WORST DRESSED Again, not always in agreement, but chosen with passion: Cardi B in a grey wig and Richard Quinn pink and grey outfit-(after party look) Gigi Hadid with her entire ass was out in Givenchy Kendall Jenner in Marc Jacobs (how 'bout some pants? Hated the boots that made her 6'4”.) Lizzo in a custom black silk crêpe Chanel dress with a glass pearls harness, inspired by a look from the 1991/92 ready-to-wear collection-Solid effort but eeehhhhh? Mary J Blige in custom Burberry a plunging floral dress & matching thigh-high boots Margo Robbie in a black silk chiffon gown with plastic and gold chain detailing at the waist, first worn by Cindy Crawford as part of Chanel's haute couture spring 1993 Doja Kat was lovely in Oscar, if you cut her head off Erykah Badu in Marni-Looked like a puppet from Sesame Street Kristen Stewart in Chanel-Don't understand For our besties of the podcast, we bring you this commentary on the Met Gala not because you are going to dress as Karl Lagerfeld's cat at a $300,000-per-person event in NYC, but because fashion is fun, whimsical and always keeps us guessing. This late designer is iconic in every sense of the word, from his stint at Chloé to his long-standing tenures at Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous brand to his unmissable uniform comprised of a white button-down shirt, black sunglasses, and a tailored black jacket, making him the perfect fashion figure to be honored at this year's Met Gala for the accompanying Costume Institute exhibit, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Be sure to follow along with Holly's Pinterest Board to see each and every one of these styles! Don't forget, we are the best fashion friend you never knew you needed! Join us, follow us and hang with us every Friday! What are your faves?!? Connor and Dylan are joined by Tony Award nominee Gideon Glick (To Kill a Mockingbird, Significant Other). Recorded on the eve of the twins' visit to London, they get some tips from Gideon, who recently spent time across the pond. Our guest beats the “shy” allegations by discussing his new mustache and twunk status, as well as his upcoming job in a comedy series' writers room. The guys dissect Bernadette Peters' Gypsy performance on the Tony Awards, Gideon's teen years in Spring Awakening, and living with one Lea Michele for a period of time. They get into AIM screen names, coming out coming out at 12 years old, Ernst's impact, Significant Other's through line to Gideon's wedding (officiated by Sas Goldberg), creating Dill in To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway, and more. Listen as breaking Maude Apatow casting in Little Shop literally stops the episode cold, and they fellas learn about Gideon's cookbook with Adam J. Roberts. Nepo Babies! It's what we're wondering about. Towards the end of 2022 Twitter went buzzing about the term. A Nepo Baby, or the child of a famous actor. Many wondering about the roles they seem to be landing with ease. Some aren't even actors. Models, like Bella Hadid are even using their family connections to to gain acting roles. Is it wrong? Who knows. One expert said “In an industry built on reboots, a famous last name can be valuable intellectual property.” Sounds ‘bout right. America loves legacies and a passing of the torch. A child following in the parents foot steps… Didn't we fight a war about that once? Anyways, Nicky Trendz and Manny Oso are here to give you the skinny on what they think. But anyways, you tell us! Should Hollywood make their own kids work harder for roles? What do you think of Models transitioning into actors? Would you rather see a movie string Tom and Chet Hanks, instead? (Nicky would! Assassination Nation so wild, for once we didn't talk about the X-Files. Okay, it came up. We are who we are. This movie caused Scott to fall down a deep Sam Levinson rabbit hole starting with Deep Water and a whole lotta Euphoria. A data leak of half the town of Salem causes the townsfolk to go full purge, targeting a group of high school girls they believe is responsible. Directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson son of Barry. Starring Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Neff, Abra, Maude Apatow, Joel McHale, Bella Thorne, Bill Skarsgard, and Coleman Domingo. As impossible as it is to imagine if all you ever do is listen to his razor sharp mental gymnastics and displays of intellectual acuity on the podcast, but Bad Dad Dan can from time to time be forgetful so it wasn't completely clear to me at first whether this week's Top 5 Ice was chosen despite having the similarly themed Snow selection by Dan himself only a few weeks back. And hopefully whilst you ruminate on that shock revelation about the reliability or otherwise of Dan's memory, it will distract you from the fact that I don't actually have a proper way to end this paragraph. THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND is in some ways a very conventional Judd Apatow film: aspiring tattooist and self-medicating slacker Scott Carlin (Pete Davidson) is an acerbic 24-year-old with delayed onset adulthood. When firefighter Ray (Bill Burr) begins dating his mother (Marisa Tomei), Scott struggles to accept their relationship whilst finally being forced to confront the death of his father, also a firefighter, who died in action heroically attempting a dangerous rescue. Apatow's body of work often places male protagonists with arrested emotional development in situations of extreme life crises, but this is an unusually poignant and moving story arc, made even more authentic and real when you realise that Davidson's own fireman father died during 9/11. An honest and real, if not always likeable, depiction of someone with depression and anxiety processing real-life trauma, the movie finishes with just enough hope to feel uplifting without being corny. Excellent support from Maude Apatow and especially Bel Powley levels out what is a male-heavy cast which also features a great turn from real life former firefighter Steve Buscemi. Dan picked THE LOUD HOUSE on his daughter's recommendation, so we watched two episodes "Left in The Dark" and "Get the Message". 11-year-old Lincoln Loud is desperate to watch the live season finale of his favourite tv show about the Academy of Really Good Ghost Hunters (ARGGH) but as the only boy in a family of eleven, he'll have to come up with a way to occupy all ten sisters before he can commandeer the TV. An instantly relatable premise turns out to be a great way to introduce the siblings, with each character getting an early chance to make an impression and some wholesome values on display as whilst the siblings fight it's clear that they respect, love and look after each other which is especially important given that the unexplainedly absent parents are almost certainly drug addicts or dead. The show has extremely strong representation which is something that we like to see with an interracial gay married couple, a trans character and a bisexual. Bit of everything really, so that's nice. Continuing the long tradition here at Bad Dads of finding out that art we like has been made by people of dubious character, writer Chris Savino was Me Too'd like so many other pieces of sh*t we have talked about on the pod. What a majestic world we live in.We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. Try us on twitter @dads_film, on Facebook Bad Dads Film Review or on our website baddadsfilm.com. Ryan and Dylan are joined by Kamryn Amory to discuss the biggest television show right now, HBO's Euphoria.
I have been fully obsessed with euphoria this season and I have been loving the tiktok theories and thoughts and I want to talk about this season in depth because ive been so obsessed!! I really liked this season i think it was hard to watch most of the time but i think sam took the criticism of the glorifying of drugs and really shared the worst parts of it the strong difference between season one and season two literally makes so much sense in terms of high school because things just change so quickly Jacobs clan more specifically Marsha the more think about her she is kind of the devil and my reasoning may be kind of mysognistic but I think she's the worst because it seems like she could sense the tension between cal and Derek and still got pregnant maybe intentionally and shielded cal from an LGBTQ life story she says in her talk with Nate that she noticed a shift in him and disregarded the care of his mental health due to his fathers beliefs she knew that her son was dangerous and violent and instead of stepping in she allowed him to exhibit toxic masculinity and ruin so many young men and womens lives so many issues this season and season one stem from Nate and they could've been prevented if she just did her job as a parent same with cal and he's worse because of what he does to women like Jules and the men seen throughout the series but to me Marsha displays all the behaviors I hate about boy moms and how mothers raise their sons different to the point that their children end up hurting people in the end Okay i think about Alexa demie and her lack of social media presence and how it kind of feel like its propelling her more to be the it girl I also think of like the birkin bag I recently saw smokey glows video of it and its so rare and so special to be able to have one I would treat euphoria like that I wouldn't give teasers or trailers for the next episode and I would make very ominous trailers for the season I would do as little press as possible and have the cast do also very ominous promotion and I would do better at keeping the plot under wraps…. I would try my best to make euphoria feel as hidden as possible to create more commotion and anticipation for the show I think it would also allow us to go online and not see it overpowering timelines and almost overfed to those who dont watch it I honestly am not sure if thats possible “What what!” cal jacobs episode four - cal being a drunk menace “You had sex with jewel?” - fez when cal comes over to try to get the tape of Jules “ Your confused im confused bro”- Fezco episode three same conversation “I'm crazier” Cassie howard episode 4 fighting with Nate there is this funny tweet of that clip put together with Cassie running up the stairs after rue aired out her relationship with Nate to Maddy its great “ I know you've probably been washing that ass” Ali episode six when he comes over to make dinner for the bennets “I don't care I just want to watch my millionaire matchmaker” SUZE episode 6 suze responding to Cassie having a mental break down and “oh she needs a fucking exorcism” This entire season I found myself looking at how much time was remaining for an episode because I constantly found myself feeling like time was being wasted and running out this finale was great in some ways but it was also bad in a lot of others I really hope that with the time in between season 2 and 3 Sam Levinson repairs his alleged issues with the cast and creates a season that garners less negativity I honestly have to say I prefer season one to season two but I think thats the point Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Barbie Ferreira and more star in Euphoria on HBO. Bobbi is my favorite!!! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/al4s/message
And just like that, Season 2 of HBO's “Euphoria” has come to an end. In Sunday night's finale, titled “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name,” reality morphed with Lexi's (Maude Apatow) play as the audience saw its second act. The fourth wall was broken as Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) strutted onstage and gave Lexi a piece of her mind, leading to an all-out fight with Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Kat (Barbie Ferreira). In an explosive scene involving a S.W.A.T. raid, Fezco (Angus Cloud) is accidentally shot by Ashtray (Javon Walton), which leads Ash to presumably kill himself. Meanwhile, Nate (Jacob Elordi) decides to turn his father, Cal (Eric Dane), into the police for child pornography, and Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer) finally talk after the intervention that forced Rue to get clean. But of course, there are still plenty of unanswered questions regarding Rue and the rest of the East Highland teenagers. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/masseffect/support

Bislang ohne Ermüdungserscheinungen. Mehr dazu verrät Antje Wessels in ihrer Kritik.

On this episode, we take a look and review Judd Apatow's new film "The King of Staten Island," which stars SNL comedian Pete Davidson as an inspiring tattoo artist who is forced to grapple with his personal issues. Davidson co-wrote the script, which was loosely inspired by his own life. The film also stars Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Maude Apatow, Bel Powley, and Steve Buscemi. Also in the episode, we discuss and each rank all six feature films from Judd Apatow.
What's going on people! So we had a very hot day when we recorded this episode, so it may come off as a little slow and slightly more philosophical than one might want. But guys! We finally have a new movie to talk about! And one from a well known director and star! Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, from the minds of Judd Apatow & Pete Davidson, The King of Staten Island!!! The King of Staten Island follows Scott, played by Davidson, a 24 year old high school and college drop-out who spends his days smoking weed with his friends and pretty much nothing else. Still haunted by his father's death in a fire, as well as having ADHD and Crohn's Disease. Despite him having stagnated, life is moving on without him. His sister (Maude Apatow) is going to college, his friend with benefits (Bel Powley) wants something more serious and is tired of the regular friends only fling, and his mom (Marisa Tomei) has finally started dating a new man (Bill Burr), who also happens to be a firefighter. It's a typical Apatow fare, guy who's lacking one thing that prevents him from truly maturing finally is forced to when everything around him starts changing, but this movie was pretty honest and genuine. This could have so easily fallen into a lot of cheap comedic territories, but because this is clearly a labor of love, it shows. Pete Davidson opens up fully here, giving us a raw and empathetic performance disguised as yet another man-child, something that cinema has had far to much fun embellishing. But besides talking about Davidson's performance, we also talk about how this script truly does elevate this material, whether this can spell out a new future for comedy, as well as Apatow as a director/producer and how his pull has really influenced comedy for the last 20 years. Enjoy! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This was one of Todd's brain storms. I had seen the trailer and I still had no idea what this was. I am not a huge Pete Davidson fan. His likeability quotient is not high. Everything I've seen him in he plays a character that is confrontational, awkward, and most of the time self-loathing. That is not the description of people I want to spend a lot of time hanging out with but I'm thinking maybe he won't be like that in this movie. He is exactly like that in this movie and maybe worse. The movie opens with Scott, played by Pete Davidson in his car going full speed down the road. All of a sudden he shuts his eyes in the middle of traffic in what seems to be a suicide attempt. It is a very tense moment that could make you feel sorry for someone who has come to this point in their life, making you sympathetic of Scott. The fact that he is willing to kill a fair number of innocent people leaves him looking like a selfish jerk. And it only gets worse from there. Scott at 24 is happy to sit in the basement with his other loser friends smoking pot all day, every day. He has a sweet, sometimes girlfriend Kelsey, played by Bel Powley, who he treats like crap. He has an ambitious younger sister Claire, played by Maude Apatow, who is graduating high school and starting college, which makes him look like even more of a loser. His mother Maggie, is played by Marisa Tomei and she is fantastic. Scott has no redeeming qualities, and has never made a good decision in his life. He wants to be a tattoo artist and open a restaurant where you get tattoos while you eat. He actually tattoos a 9 year old kid just for the heck of it. This does not go over well with the kids father Ray, played by Bill Burr. Bill Burr was a surprise, I love his standup, and it turns out, he's also a really good actor. The storyline mirrors Pete Davidson's life in more than a few ways. In the movie Scott's dad was a firefighter that died on a call when he was 7. Pete's dad was a firefighter that died on 9/11 when Pete was 7. Pete's dad was named Scott. Both movie Scott and real life Pete spent their early lives as drug addicted losers. They both suffer from depression and Crohn's disease. You really want to give Scott a break and hope the best for him but he just won't let you. The movie is a long 2 hours and 12 minutes, rated R for language, drug use and sexual content. It's also Rated R for really depressing. Now that is the bad news. The good news is, the surrounding cast that I mentioned, along with Steve Buscemi who actually was a New York firefighter, plays a New York firefighter, are all excellent! And as depressing and long as the movie was, the last 22 minutes almost made me glad I watched it. Appatow does a great job in making this movie seem like real life. No great big moment that makes Scott's life turn completely around. No epiphany, but an ending I was very satisfied with. I still wouldn't want to hang out with Scott, but I wound up being glad he opened his eyes when he was driving the car. The question is, do you spend $20 to rent this and sit through the first 115 minutes to get to the last 22? Maybe you invite 4 people over and it's only $4 apiece. Or you just say to hell with it. Your call. My Score: 1 Bud for the first 115 minutes, 4 Buds for the last 22 minutes. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Originally intended to be theatrically released, the film was released digitally via video on demand on June 12, 2020, by Universal Pictures. It received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Davidson's performance and Apatow's handling of the mature subject matter. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/popcorn-junkies/message
